Well ive snagged some more great beers for this weekend !

W.J. Kings - Single hop (fantastic clean refreshing ale, perfect for a day like today!)
ps as im writing this its lovely outside ! (honest)

and i have also got another barrell of Arundel Trident, this went down so well the other week that i had to get another one !

Moorehouse Black Witch & Bath S.P.A

Hi All !

Two fantastic beers and i have both of them on draught available from the 25th Feb!

Black Witch...

Another bit of witchcrafty stuff from the Moorhouse's cauldron.This very quaffable ale was originally brewed to keep the spirits up around Hallowe'en.
A smooth dark beer it has a touch of chocolate malt with just a squidge of molasses, no frogs but neverthless a hoppy finish.

Bath SPA...

This ale boasts a wonderful golden colour and prominent citrus aroma. It's dry without harshness, light and crisp.
This is one of our faves in the shop so id highly recommend getting some before we drink it !

Hi Guys,

well as you can see Ive finally had my blogger account unblocked ! I'm not sure why it was blocked but for the last 2 months Ive had nothing but error messages !

New Website..
as I'm sure you have seen we have a new website up and visible to everyone, please note that the site is still under construction so it may be best to keep up to date on the draught ales on here until its all running smoothly.

Arundel Trident..
I had a barrel of trident over the weekend and we really liked it ! but more importantly what did everyone else think ?? as its a new beer its always good to get loads of feedback as i think this beer could become a regular in Beer Box !

Now that I'm back, Keep an eye on the blog for bottled beer reviews and up to date information on the website, ordering and events !

Negotiations with our new financial partner have moved a stage further and we hope to re open on the weekend starting 21st Nov !

Draught Ale ?

Hi all !
Well its that time of year when all kinds of ales are available, lights to darks, porters to obscure !
The idea of this post is that if everyone who reads it leaves a comment on the blog with their suggestions as to what they would like to see on draught, Then i will do all the research and sourcing and then have them available over the festive period !
Sounds good? If so then get your ideas in so i can start looking for them !!!

WORTHING BEER FESTIVAL ! ! !

Hi everyone, I hope your all keeping well.

Just thought id take the time to let you all know the plans and dates for this years annual beer festival which is on the 24th - 25th October !!

As ever there will be around 50 real ales and ciders for you to choose from with this year focusing on some of the East Anglia breweries.

The dates and times for the event are as follows:

FRIDAY daytime 11.30 - 3.30 or evening 5.30 - 11.00pm

SATURDAY all day 11am - 11pm !!

Tickets to Friday daytime are £3 and evening tickets are £5, all day Saturday is only £5 a ticket !

From 8pm on Saturday there will be live music from "Rob Johnson and the irregulars" (which will hopefully drown out the drunken slurs of the guys that have been there since 11am!)

As I'm sure you guys already know i have tickets here @ Beerbox so don't miss out out get them early ! (I'm afraid its cash only for the tickets as we are selling them on behalf of CAMRA)

Just like last year the shop will have a bottle stall set up at the festival and it would be good to see you down there, Gary and myself will be looking after the stall throughout the festival so it would be nice to see some familiar faces !

Well i hope to see you all in the shop soon for your tickets, But until then happy drinking !!

Whats on my stillage this week ??

Hi ya
Just a quick post to let you know whats coming into the beerbox this week and some of next weeks beers !

I have some fantastic ales turning up over the next few weeks so be sure not to miss them !

They are as follows:

This week

Wickwar - Cotswold way, Dark brown best bitter with malty and slightly roasted flavours, medium hop bitterness and late hop character.

Batemans - Combined Harvest, Light golden colour made using a mixture of oats, barley, wheat and rye!

Brains - Merlins Oak, Late-hopped ale characteristics with autumnal reddish hues, brewed using maris otter malts.

Next weeks

Orkney - Dark Island (from way up north, most northern brewery as far as i know).
A dark Scottish beer with a rich fruity nose balanced by flavours of chocolate, dried fruit and figs.

Exmoor - Gold , The original single malt golden ale! superb ale we love it and were sure you Will too !

Skinners of Truro - Betty stogs, Gold winner in its category at the great British beer festival !!
Light hoppy aroma with underlying malt, A superb balance of citrus hops, malt and bitterness.

Just thought i would send this out as i haverecived my beers for the weekend and they are just coming on !

Harveys - best (i have more than one barrel so it wont run out)

This may not look much but because of the demand of these beers i have ordered multiples on the popular ones! so please dont think that they will all be gone by the time you pop down !

Also dont forget that i am open on sundays 12 til 6 so if ya run out you know where to come !!

shop hours reminder + beer

Hi all,
Once again just a little reminder that my new hours are now in full swing.
Last sunday was a sucess so thanks to the guys for popping in ! and just a reminder to those who didnt realise, I am closed on monday / tuesday.

Anyway thats enough chat about the hours, heres the important bit !!
these are the beers that i have coming in
hammerpot - madgwick gold 5% (for dave !)
hammerpot - woodcote bitter 4,5%
harveys - best 4%
oakham - JHB 3.8% (another of my faves so get it before i do!)

There will be a few other beers apearing over the week so keep your eyes on the website !

PROPOSED SUMMER OPENING HOURS !!

Hi all !!

As im sure you all know its been a slow and shakey start to the year, So im looking at changing my hours to suit you guys a little better !
The first proposed change is for the shop to be open on SUNDAYS.
Ive had a lot of people asking about this one and it seems silly that you're all out barbequing and im not here to sort the beer.
As i will be open sunday i dont think there will be much demand for me to be open on monday or tuesday (these seem to be slow days anyway).

This is the idea for the hours

MON/TUES - CLOSED

WEDS/THURS - 4PM TIL 8PM

FRI/SAT - 12NOON TIL 8PM

SUNDAY - 12NOON TIL 6PM

Please let me know your views on this and send ,me a comment back, as im hoping it will become effective from the 15TH JUNE (Fathers day!!)

I have been doing my research into Belgian beers and have found someone to supply the shop!!
The only problem is that i have been sent a list of beers that are available and its 8 pages long !
so i would like to ask the question "what Belgian beers do you like?" so if any of you have a /or tried a beer out there that you liked please let me kno so i can stock it.
any ideas? pop it in a comment !

Fathers day

I know it’s a little early to be bringing this up but if you had seen the chaos in the shop last year you could see why!!
Why not pre order your fathers day hamper to guarantee the gift your looking for?
I have already stocked up on the hampers and various gifts with the new beeraphenalia display in the shop window! so why not pop by early and avoid the crowd.
