My Thoughts:

Hot off the presses is Defiance by R.S. Broadhead.

Defiance is Book One of The Reaper Series and dare I say it’s dark yet fascinating! The battle of Good vs Evil takes on a whole new twist within Nekroun Earth and Earth. Predestined branding, Fate, a band of Grudgers, Stalkers, Takers, Transporters, Demorals, and the Ever illustrious Grim fill the pages of what I’m sure will be a must have on every TBR list! I will give a brief warning that there is strong language at times, but it falls in nicely with the story and would be best suited for more mature readers.

*One of my favorite things about this book is its uniqueness. I can honestly say that I haven’t read anything like this before. I LOVE the fast paced writing style that makes the reader devour page after page until they’re standing on the ledge of a massive cliffhanger!

There is so much to love from the action to the laughter and the mystery!

The vivid writing by R.S. Broadhead is what a reader hopes for when choosing a great read and I have to say that the imagery that has been seared into my brain has left me unable to sleep or recover for a little while unless I watch copious amounts of cartoons. Yet I sit here waiting on bated breath for the release of book two knowing sadly that it’s only the release of book one. I do foresee myself rereading this book in the future as it has earned its place among my favorites!

* I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys adventure, horror, paranormal and mystery.

My Thoughts:

Okay, so my patience is starting do dwindle a little with the turn of this book. Jace was really keeping me interested, but now instead of being Macho and hunky he's starting to just seem bi-polar. He's all hot and bothered one minute and then sulking in a corner the next. Hello MOODY! No thank you! Everyone else seems to be getting their feelings together though and pairing off nicely, except the "Epic" lovers.

As far as the story itself awesome as usual. With Lilith stepping onto the scene and a room full of dead babies I had hoped that she would have put up a little more of a fight or maybe bled into the next book, but it wasn't to be. I will read the next book though just so that I can finish the series, but if something doesn't change I won't be a very happy camper.

My Thoughts:

This book is by far the BEST book of this series that I have read so far! MORE action, MORE betrayal, MORE deception and BEST of all what I'd been hoping from book 1 HAPPENED! As this story progresses I have fallen in L♥VE with so many of these characters and their world. There are only a handful of series that I love as much as this, but right now I can't think of any...LoL! I honestly feel sorry for anyone who hasn't read these books and I saw the movie, but quickly lost interest as it doesn't do the books any justice! I've just started book #4: and cannot stop reading long enough to properly express how WONDERFUL and AMAZING they are and perhaps I can properly recap after I finish the series while I wait for another book.

My Thoughts:

From reading the 1st book I became addicted to the characters, story, and the entire under word that Cassandra Clare had created. I love a strong female character who doesn't necessarily NEED a man to rescue her, but when he's so drool worthy it's nice to have back up♥. I keep hoping and praying that for one reason or another Jace and Clary aren't really brother and sister, but the story keeps going with out a reveal.

I thought there was action in book 1, but the scenes get more intense and I found myself red eyed and sleep deprived page flipping til the end. When I finally finished I instantly opened book 3 City of Glass. I can't stop and I should probably seek help, but not until I finish book 5 and wait through my withdrawals until book 6 is released.

I have high hopes for this series and am strapping myself in my comfy chair and ride this fantastic roller coaster until the very end. Wish me luck!

My thoughts:

As the release of the movie approaches I decided to push this book to the top of my TBR pile. This poor book had been pushed down further and further into my stack of books and then I heard that the movie was being made. Still it sat until I heard about the movie being released. Once I started reading I immediately wanted to kick myself for having put it off for so long. It took a couple of pages into it, but then it took off and didn't slow down until the end. Once Valentine made an appearance I had already predicted where the story would go and I was upset when it went there, but all in all I'm confident that something good is around the corner with that situation. What's not to love Werewolves, Vampires, Fairies and many other creatures. Danger, excitement, and betrayal too!

I found myself laughing out loud over many of Clary & Jace's conversations. The relationship between Simon & Clary has it's moments of laughable topics as well. However I don't care for Isabelle's 180 flip and Alec doesn't seem like an important character yet. I don't know if he becomes important, but so far I haven't seen any use for him.

Overall I am impressed with the book. The imagery is fantastic, and most of the characters are pretty well rounded. The story is progressive and highly entertaining, and full of substance, so it rates 5 Stars.

My thoughts:

This book is not what I was expecting. Do you know when you read a title you kind of have an idea about what the book might possibly be about. I was thinking that it would be something like Narnia – the characters would just travel to another hidden world. Well I was wrong, very wrong and really disappointed. It took me a long time to finish this book because I was having a hard to keeping my attention on it. Instead of traveling to one dimension the characters went to numerous ones. I think that because there had been so much traveling that had been taking place throughout the book that it left for a lot of missing information. This book severely lacked detail and in no way engaged me. I do think the author was onto something but because of all the hopping around the objective that she had been trying to get across wasn’t quite what had been written in the book. I can honestly say that if I had paid for this book I would be extremely displeased. This book needs some serious work done with it in order for it to be more comprehensible for readers. However, as the book is now it isn’t worth the time to read.

Why I read this book?:

In actuality, I've been foaming at the mouth for quite some time to get my hands on this book! From the moment that I was recommended and read My Soul to Lose I fell in love with every aspect of the story. Every book I read I just devoured; captivated and in L♥VE with every character as I met them (except Sophie and Sabine), but I grew to like them eventually too. The whole story of the Bean Sidhe a.k.a "Banshee" as told by Rachel Vincent is new, exciting, and totally enjoyable!

What I Liked:

There are so many things that I liked about this book, but we'll start with my favorite; I wasn't forced to reread the last chapter of Before I Wake rewritten as chapter One! I like my refreshers "sprinkled" in. Next, I also liked the "Growth" of the characters (Except Kaylee) Sabine, Emma/Lydia/Emily, Nash, and even Sophie seem to have mentally grown and developed quite a bit since previous novels. I ALWAYS like the action and suspense.

What I Didn't Like:

This has no relevance on the ACTUAL writing I was just irked with Kaylee acting like an numb nut and leaving Tod to do dumb stuff...

Memorable Moments:

"Do you trust me Tod?" "With everything I have an everything I am. With all my soul."

Overall Impression:

I L♥VE these characters and I'm sad to see them go, but I'm sure I'll pick this series up and read it again and again. So it's with a heavy heart that I'll say "Goodbye for now".

My thoughts:

Enchantment is the final installment of the Spellbound Trilogy and Gray is touring Barcelona with new friends. After attending a Magic performance she runs into her old nemesis...Adrian "The Avenger" Montez. Things are very different this time Gray is now in Charlene's body, Lee in Stacy's and Charlene is... Who knows where. Now with 3 enemies searching Barcelona for her she has no choice but to return to a city she's dreaded since waking up there...Paris.

I am both happy and sad with the completion of this book. I love getting to the end and seeing how it all plays out, but that means the end of all of the adventures and the characters themselves. Non readers don't understand the bond that's formed with these "people" you laugh with them, cry with them and of course fall in love with them!♥ During this book I said "AWW" so many times that my husband asked if we should get a divorce to make room for my crush (if only).

What I love about Nikki Jefford's writing is that she writes so descriptive that I really was in Barcelona and Paris. I had never even had the want to leave the country, but now I find myself intrigued by Paris and all it really has to offer! I could definitely see myself sitting near the Eiffel Tower with my hubby on one side and a book on the other!

During my time with Gray and Lee during their journey I have found characters that I LOVE and LOATHE and some that I had an inkling about, but never allowed myself to believe in. What I'm saying is that I love this series and I will read and reread it in the future. It has become one of my favorites and I NEVER let a good book go!

I wish I could dedicate more time for each of these books, but honestly I read them so fast they blurred into one book...Lol.

I'm a little slow on noticing things so it wasn't until the 5th book that I realized the significance of the covers! I really love the progression of these books, but I am glad to see that Harper is now more in control of her life than before. It seemed that she was a perpetual prisoner and was supposed to be the heroine of the story, but that is no longer the case.

She was captured, saved, fled into the shadow world, saved, held prisoner, and kicked butt! Harper is one of my newest favorite characters! Her life has taken a turn that no one would predict. (I'm not telling either!) The constant character revelations keep you on your toes and wondering who will betray whom. Nothing is what it seems in these last 3 books. "Roller coaster" doesn't even touch the surface of what these books do to the reader.

I've been reading for a very long time and even I couldn't see what was going on until it hit me in the face! My heart raced with every word until the very end when I was left with my sadness. This is the end...or is it?

As this story progresses I find it even harder to stop reading. Harper has already lost so much in her life, but now she's losing the one aspect that she'd taken for granted...freedom. Plagued by secrets, lies, jealousy and fear; Harper is standing in the middle of a dangerous web and everyone is a suspect.

While reading I find myself transported to Peachville and can see and feel everything Harper is subjected to. Sarra Cannon has become one of my new favorite authors because it isn't just a "story" anymore it's a journey! We're brought along for the ride and what a ride it is! The pages turn so quickly; one moment you're just starting then the book and the next it's done and you haven't eaten all day! ♥ The imagery is so wonderfully written that I'm having a hard time writing this review because all I can do is wonder what's next?

Jackson's past is coming to the surface, Harper's finally learning about hers, new characters are introduced and new foes are lurking EVERYWHERE!

From the moment I opened this book I was sucked right in. The first page to the very last was SPELLBINDING. I had to know what was going to happen to Abby and Rem every second. Maya Gold flawlessly wrote and enchanting tale in the heart of Salem. I love series, but it was refreshing to read one book that actually contained an ending!

So I'll break it down a little... I have always found the occurrences that happened in Salem utterly fascinating ever since I first learned of the tragedies that happened there and this book takes that scenario to a whole new level. Everything that I thought was "predictable" ended up throwing me a curve ball. There were twists and turns that can not be anticipated.

I LOVE the fact that Abby isn't the super hot chick who good things happen to like most stories these days. She seems realistic and sometimes you just want to jump into the story and defend her. Rem is of course Mcdreamy with a side of yum sauce and when they come together it's a breeding ground for a fast paced, super thrilling, one way ride and for those who can't read it yet I feel sorry for you.

Favorite Line: "Especially when he's tawny and sun-kissed from working outdoors, and you look like a glass of skim milk."

Author Interview with Ashley N. Pearce

After waking from a nightmare filled with death and despair, Aidriana is tormented repeatedly by her dreams. When events from the dream begin to happen in her life, she becomes paranoid that the nightmare could be some sort of premonition. Anxiety leads her on a path of random blackouts and strange visions. Aidriana is left to decide what is real and what is not. Nothing is what it seems.

So I get the wonderful privilege to sit down and have a chat with brand new author Ashley N. Pearce as her debut novel Intuitions Nightmare that has just become available on Amazon.com.

When and why did you begin writing?

- I have been writing since I was a kid. I remember having these really cool book making months in school and we would all write a kids story. We would put them into a blank book and then have a little book reading day so all of us could read the other student's books. From there I progressively wrote more and more. When I got to middle school, poetry became a really important emotional outlet for me. I think if anything writing has been so important to me because I feel like it keeps me sane.

What inspired you to write your first book?

- Honestly, boredom inspired me. I wrote the first version of this book in my Junior year of high school. I use to let people read what I had done in class while I wrote more. After I finished it, I just kept it on a hard drive and forgot about it. When I got to my Junior year of college, boredom inspired me yet again so I got out the hard drive and read it. Considering it was written when I was 16, I decided to rewrite it and somehow came up with the story line that ended up being so crucial to the twist it didn't have before.

Who designed your covers?

- My best friend Julie Meyer designed the cover for me. She went to college for graphic design and wanted to help me out.

Who is your favorite author? What strikes you the most about their work?

- Christopher Pike is probably my favorite. I am absolutely in love with the Thirst series. The way he puts mythology and religion into that story just blows my mind. I really started becoming really open minded after reading those books and have expanded my reading choices quite a bit.

Is there anything specific you would like to say to your readers?

- Well first and foremost, I want to say thank you for reading because this is a dream I've had since childhood and it is amazing to be able to experience it. Secondly, I would like to say that no matter how many doubts you may have, if you want something then go for it. Try, fail, and try again. Everyone should get a chance to experience their deepest desire and if you never try, then you will never experience it!

What book (if any) are you currently reading?

- Currently, I am reading Until I die by Amy Plum. I'm not very far in the book yet just because I picked a busy time to start it but the first book was interesting and I always get sucked into books that don't end. I am the type of person that just wants to know what the ending is and it motivates me to read!

I have read this story, I own this book, and I love it to the point that it lives on my re-read shelf! This was the first "Fallen Angel" book that I had read and it sent me into the downward spiral that is boarder line obsessive.

Heather Terrell is a brilliant author and the second book is just as engrossing as this one. If you haven't read it yet I suggest that you do and tell 'em Beerens Baby sent ya!

Perfected by girls by Alfred C. Martino

In the town of Ashton, Michigan Melinda Radford would not be what you call a “typical” high school teenage girl. She is a wrestler, and though her mom and dad outwardly support her it would seem as if they weren’t thrilled to juggle being the parents of not only the Varsity team Co-captain, but the only girl on the team who can’t seem to win.

I was THRILLED to read this story because I had initially thought that I could identify with Melinda after all I too was a lone female wrestler once upon a time, but that was where our similarities ended. Melinda comes from serious money and though throughout the story she constantly claims to not care about fashion, yet she seems to get rather excited over various top designer items and not only subscribes to but reads fashion magazines.

Then she is supposed to be a “loner” with only one friend, but has the audacity to walk up and flirt with a valet named Stewart only to later have a hard time talking to him, her character seems somewhat flawed.

I like the flow of the story with the exception of a few minor time travels that seem confusing for a brief moment until you read further into the scene for a second then you figure out what’s going on.

I really enjoyed how the reader is brought in on not only the technical names for some of the wrestling moves, but went into detail so that the reader if they had no knowledge of wrestling can visualize what’s happening in the story.

The ridicule of being the only female on a male dominated sport is intense and I think stories like this can improve the ideals of young impressionable girls and reiterate the theory that they really can do anything that they set their mind to if they are willing to push themselves and in a sense be willing to “suffer” a little to achieve their dreams. Overall I ended up enjoying this story more than I thought I would in the beginning and I’ve fallen in love with the quote “Wrestling. Invented by boys. Perfected by Girls.”
