Linkedin is one of the networking sites which I have been using a lot now days for the business purposes. One of the functionalities I had ignored for a long time was recommending the connections. I had sent many requests to endorse me but it did not work and I did not receive any recommendations. Okay...here was the problem; I should have endorsed my connections first to get a recommendation from them. Here, I do not mean to say that I wanted to recommend all your connections. I wanted to recommend only those who have worked with me or currenyl working with me directly/indirectly. Now, I selected the people I wanted to endorse. These selected people were my supervisors, co-workers and juniors. When I started thinking about each of them, I came across the challenge of finding right words and framing right sentences to describe their strengths. I realized that it takes a lot to describe an individual’s strength. Even if you are a good writer; you may find it difficult to write good things about somebody you have known only at a professional level. Considering, writing being my hobby, I had difficult time while I was trying to think right words and sentences to write recommendations.

Then I thought of researching to get some ideas on how to write recommendations for the Linkedin connections. I could not even imagine that I may come across this website which will write recommendations for me. Here is the website – www.endorser.org . This website gives you an option to put the name of the person you want to write a recommendation for, gender selection and name of the company. I was amazed to see the results when I hit endorse option and this website came up with the same thoughts about a person as it was reading my brain. There can be a possibility that you may have to hit endorse more than once but I felt that it was worth it.

The good thing about taking help from this website was that it is less time consuming and within minutes I was finished sending recommendations to my connections.

I would also like to mention to my colleagues who have received recommendation from me. Though I used this website to write recommendations for you but I appreciate all your support and contribution to make me reach where I am today. I mean everything I have written in my recommendation. I will not mind if you use this website to endorse me too.

There are few other services as well on the website which I have not tried. You can try and rate the website as per your opinion.

I am a recruiter and spend a lot of my time in searching professionals on LinkedIn. Today while conducting search on LinkedIn I came across a great application Box.net files. I always used to wonder earlier how to make my connections know about the job requirements I was working on in order to get some responses through them. It was impossible to put description in the “What are you working on now?” section due to lack of word limit it has. But, Box.net application solved my problem.

This application allows me to upload number of job descriptions which can be easily downloadable by other parties online. These files are visible on my profile page. This increases the reach of job requirements and it is as good as advertising the requirement. I am not sure about the results I may get through this as it has been only one day I have added this application to my profile but it indeed seems to be a great idea to upload these job descriptions on my LinkedIn profile.

It is easy to upload and share word document, excel sheet, powerpoint presentation, images etc. on box.net files application.

Steps to add Box.net application to the LinkedIn profile:

After you log on to your LinkedIn profile, click on the option of “Applications” on the left side of the page.

Click on “Box.net files” followed by “add application”. This will add this application on your home page and profile.

Clicking on the Box.net will lead you to the following page. You will see an option on the right side “add application”.

This is how application will look on your LinkedIn profile page. Click on “Menu” to select your options and to upload new files.
Click on the uploaded file to get more options to be performed as per your requirement. Through this option, files are easily transferred and shared with your selected connections.

What all I have mentioned above is my expereicne of first day using Box.net files. I am sure there would be more which can be explored while using the application.

Blogs have become famous in corporate world. Every business is creating blog/s for various purposes. A blog for a company is much more different from a personal blog and from a website. Therefore, while creating a corporate blog some points should be kept in mind because a slight mistake can ruin it all. While I am creating a blog for my employer, I just thought to jot down points which could be of some help.

Before you start creating a blog, the purpose to launching a blog should be known. This would help in writing content and market the blog to generate more and relevant traffic.
Keeping your readers on mind is very important as content will be written for them.
Correct layout of the whole web page is important which should be organized.
Desinging a correct header is again very important.
The kind of widgets which should be up on the blog should be decided carefully. Unnecessary widgets should be avoided.
Content should be such which is helpful for your readers. Posting news and praise about the company won't help. Remember blog is different from your website.
Adding links of some related and similar blogs will also help.
Employees of the company are best people who can write content for the company's blog.
Some slideshow of employees pictures on the blog will be a good idea too.
A corporate blog should not look monotonous as some fun elements can be added. This could include experiences of employees.
Content should be updated regularly.
Your readers may want to come back if they enjoy the current posts and that's why what we are posting is very important.

These are the tips which are required at the initial stage of creating a corporate blog. While I am working on the corporate blog and will be able to write new things based on my experience, I hope tips mentioned above are of some help.

Everyday dealing with number of word documents at the work. Formatting these word documents is time consuming. PureText makes sure that if you copy and paste content to a word doc, the content is pasted with similar font face, font style (bold, italics, etc.), font color, paragraph styles (left/right/center aligned), margins, character spacing, bullets, subscript, superscript, tables, charts, pictures, embedded objects, etc. However, it does not modify the actual text. Content should be pasted with keys - Ctrl+V.

E.g. if you have a paragraph pasted in word doc. with font-Arial (10) and you copy some more content from any other document with font-Times Roman(12), when you paste this content, PureText will automatically convert the Times Roman in Aria (10).

It wil be saved on the system ina zip file. Right click on the zip folder and select Extract Here. Now you can run PureText by doule clicking on the downloaded software. After running PureText.exe, you will see a "PT" tray icon appear near the clock on your task bar.

I came across this website years ago and been using it. But most of my colleagues don't know about this great tool, so just thought to post about it on my blog. As the title says,"chat online without installing messengers". Yes, this is possible with this website.

You just have to login with your relevant ID and you are present online to chat with your friends. Now it is useful when you don't have time to install yahoo, msn or gtalk messengers and urgently have to catch up somebody online. You can login on to Yahoo, Gtalk, MSN & AOL messenger in an instant. Goo dnew is that you need not to sign up on meebo or join it in order to log on to any of earlier mentioned messengers. So try it next time you urgently have to talk to you loved ones urgently and you don't have instant messengers installed.....

Other great option from Google - Google Docs. This is a Web based Word Processor, spread sheet and presentation application. It allows users to create & edit documents online while colaaborating in real time with other Users. Users can create dosuments from basic documents from scratch ans also use templates. Documents can be created making bulleted lists, sorting by columns, adding tables, images, comments, formulas, changing fonts and much more.Documents can also be segregated by creating different folders. Files already existing in the system can easily be uploaded to Google Docs. Types of files which can be uploaded are HTML files, plain text (.txt), Microsoft Word (.doc), Rich Text (.rtf), OpenDocument Text (.odt), Microsoft Excel (.xls), (.sxw), Comma Separated Value (.csv), OpenDocument Spreadsheet (.ods), Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pps) and PDF files. Alongwith these I also tried to upload images and undoubetedly I was successful in uploading images. Sized of file/s to e uploaded varies from type to type. i.e. Documents (up to 500KB), Presentations (up to 10MB from your computer, 2MB from the web, 500KB via email), Spreadsheets (up to 1MB) and PDF Files (up to 10MB from your computer, 2MB from the web). Toolbar button allows users to customize the doc.

When we talk about sharing and collaborating the files with other users, they can choose who can access their documents.Just enter the email addresses of the people with whom they want to share a particular document and send them an invitation. These people can access the document as soon as they log in. Multiple people can view and make changes in the shared documents at the same time. There is a chat window for spreadsheets, and document revisions show you exactly who changed what, and when. And most important thing it is upto the users if they want the whole world to view the document or selective people or no one.

This is an online storage and the data is safe and no fear of losing anymore data.

Google - the best search engine and no doubt provides the best results for a particular search. While conducting a search we do expect to come across relevant information/s which is somewhere in the millions of available web pages. The most commonly used search is basic search where we just go to the Google and type in our keywords or a command. But if we notice there is an option mentioned of Advanced Search on the homepage of Google (http://www.google.co.in/advanced_search?hl=en). We all may know about this advanced search option but how many times do we actually use it??
On this page Google offers number of options which will help in making our search precise and effective results will be retrieved.

Advanced search feature helps in following ways -

Conducting search which will contain all the words we type in.
Conducting search which will contain exact phrase/sentence.
Conducting search which will contain one or more desired keywords.
It also restricts the pages to come up in the results containing unwanted keywords by us.
It also supports he number of pages we want to see per searched Google page.
Conducting search in a particular language.
Conducting search in filetype. i.e. search pages are in form of word document, excel sheet, powerpoint, PDF to name a few.
Conducting search within particular website/domain.
Conducting search to find out results updated within a particular time i.e. 24 hours, a week, a month or an year before. It definitely helps in getting updated and most relevant results.
Conducting search to specify where a particular keyword or keywords should appear i.e. in the link, in the text, in the title, in the URL or anywhere in the page.
Conducting search for Usage Rights.
Conducting search within particular region which makes sure that we retrieve results within that region e.g. results from France, Germany, Russia etc.

Well this has worked for me. Even if you are satisfied with the basic search, try the advanced search once, it may take you result which basic search may fail to do as it makes sure to conduct narrow search as compare to Basic search .

Google itself helps us to conduct effective search and has provided following tools -

OR
:: OR operator can be used to connect different possibilities.
E.g. money OR currency, Web crawler will retrieve pages containing words either money or currency but both.

AND
:: Similar to OR, AND can be used to connect all important keywords together.
E.g. money AND currency (money currency), Web crawler will retrieve pages containing BOTH the words money as well as currency. (There is no need to use AND in Google search engine, Google by default take space between the two words as AND.

"Quotation Marks"
:: The quotation marks helps in generating results with Exact phrases.
E.g. (1) "money making blogs", the pages retrieved by Web crawlers will contain this exact phrase.
E.g. (2) If we put word manage, the spider will bring results which include words -manage, managing, management, manager etc. But if we put word "manage" with Quotation mark, result will include the word MANAGE only.

Subtraction Mark (-) and Addition Mark (+)
:: Subtraction mark will make sure that the word following the "-" is not included in the search results.
E.g. money -cash, Web crawler will come up with pages containing money and without the word cash.

Though we know that our life is not complete without our buddies but we hardly express how much we need them. Today is the day which is dedicated to friends where we actually feel that we are blesses to have them in our lives and express the same.....

Do you think SAVING is essential ???

Last weekend I had gone out with one of my friends. It was supposed to be a general meeting to discuss business which we were planning. But after that particular meeting I decided not to get into any business with him because I could see that I was creating wreck for myself. Well, when it comes to money I am very much careful. Now I am and always will be because of my experiences where I suffered loss. Money - an important and inextricable part of our lives. Why??? Can one think about surviving a single day without money??? The wisest answer should be NO. If anyone out there says Yes, then I must say you are broke...Aren't you??? or probably you have enough money to buy your momentarily gratification...Which would definitely elude soon if you don't take care of your Money....

Coming back to my friend, in that meeting he mentioned that he would like to postpone the plan we had for our business. That's because he DIDN'T have enough money. Precisely, he didn't have savings. But after the lunch we had, he showed his desire to go to the market and guess what, he spent around couple of thousand dollars in buying stuff which was not required at that point of time when he had mentioned that he is BROKE. This amount he spent was through his Credit Card and I was surprised to see number of credit cards he holds. Basically he was surviving on credit cards. Whatever money he was making he was spending in paying his interests on those cards. Therefore, he could not think of saving. Now when there are no savings, investments are just not possible. This incidence really taught me that savings are really important. You never know when you may need money and the situation could be really urgent.

When you decide that you have to save money, you have to stick to your decision or money will fly away from you. Following tips could be useful, as they really worked for me. If you have any other ideas which could help in savings, please do leave a comment.

* Very important - Get rid of credit cards or they will squeeze your money out.
* Try to change your mind when your mind suggests you to buy something (which you actually do not need). If you refrain yourself buying that stuff at that point of time, trust me you won't go again to see that thing.
* Analyze if you really need what you going to buy.
* Save minimum 10% of your income every month if you are an employee or whenever you receive any payment if you run a business or are a freelancer. Main aim is Saving.
* Analyze if everything you need is available at a lower price. I don't mean compromise in quality or quantity, but if same quantity and quality you can get from somewhere else at a cheaper cost, why to pay more.
* Set your priorities. Where actually is required to spend? Or what is more important to be spent on, if given choices.
* Keep your money in different bank accounts. Avoid carrying Debit cards for all the bank accounts with you. Keep one card with you of an account where you keep your money to be spent.
* Make a budget for a week or month.
* Keep investing in mutual funds etc.
* Be firm with your decision to save money. Start saving every single dime you have in your wallet, purse etc. at the end of the day and forget for some months.
* Last but not the least, make more money to save more. ;)

Passive Income - Greatest way to Double your money

Like many others I used to think that I would need to work hard to earn money..Well this is true..But it is equally true that if I would manage my money well, I can generate Passive Income through the amount I have saved. Only working hard can not make us rich, rather "smart work" that helps and Managing Money smartly. Our target should be to reach at a level where Money attracts Money.

The details which wikipedia gives of Passive Income is as follows -
"Passive income is a rent received on a regular basis, with little effort required to maintain it.
Some examples of passive income are:

Rental from property;
Royalties from publishing a book or from a patent;
Earnings from internet advertisement on your websites;
Earnings from business that does not require direct involvement from the owner or merchant;
Dividend and interest from owning securities, such as stocks and bonds, are usually referred to as portfolio income, which can be considered a form of passive income;
Pensions

In my earlier post I spoke about factors determining wealth - Income, Saving, Investment and Simplification. Investment is the easiest way to generate regular income even if you do not work. Savings leads to investment. Now I used to think that I do not have enough money to invest but the fact is that I had to create that savings, an amount which was enough to invest and our aim should be to reach at a level where we are "Financially Free". Harv defines Financial freedom as,"it is the ability to live the lifestyle you desire without having to work or rely on anyone else for money."

Now once we have enough money to invest further, we need to identify best financial instruments which have appreciating value or which have constant increase in their value in monetary terms. Analyzing opportunities (For Passive Income) and planning which should earn you passive income. Some of the examples are mentioned above. If in case you already have saved some money, try to analyze the ways you can double it. If you are a bit suspicious about investing the whole amount, try investing a part of it. "Planning" is what would help you or consulting someone could be a better idea who can give you advise on how you should go about investing your money. If you have some ideas, let world know about it and license those ideas so that no one else is benefited out of it. If we understand the concept and advantages of "Passive Income", we can definitely think of living our dreams in near future.

I want to be rich...well who doesn't want to be?? In order to pursue this, apart from my regular work which is my job where I get paid at the end of every month, I have been involved in other part time work which is my hobby and ofcourse I don't mind if I get paid for doing what I love and enjoy doing. I was doing it well but major concern was out-flow of money. I was losing my money as soon as I was getting it. My expenses were much more than what I was earning. Result- No savings. There were situations when I had to take out money from my savings to overcome overhead expenses. I was not able to understand why money was flowing away me. I was actually wanted to know what is wrong, I came across lines,"Rich people are good at managing their money." -T. Harv Eker. The next moment I was forced to think that I was actually mismanaging my money. I never realized this before and I am suremost of us don't realize it. I also understood that my habits towards handeling money were not letting me become rich. Well when I say that my savings will make me rich, that's not what I mean.

Harv mentions - "Many people don't like to manage their money because, first, they say it restricts their freedom, and second, they say they don't have enough money to manage."

But actually managing money never restricts one's freedom but it does promote it. And when we say we do not have enough money to manage it, I am sure we need to make that much money which we feel is manageable. I know about some celebrities who make MONEY every second but they are still broke if they do not get work after sometime. Why so??? I think they must have made enough money which could be easily enough for them to survive for years. But why they become broke. That's right, that's because of mismanaging the money. If you can not manage small amount of money, you will definitely will not be able to manage large amount of money.

I realized that my income only through job would not be enough to get me what I want to own, atleast for next 10 years considering the liabilities I have. But I can't wait for a decade to own all I want. Therefore, I followed Harv guidance, "Creating Net Worth". I would like to mention Net Worth is not Working Income. According to Harv,"Net worth is the financial value of everything you own." This includes your property/real estate, stock/bonds/shares subtract your liabilities. Net Worth is categorized in the following factors - Income, Savings, Investments & Simplification. Now income is very important to lead to other three factors. You save a part of your income which you can invest further to make more money & ofcourse to create wealth (once you have saved decent amount). Now why Simplification??? It goes parallel with savings. You set a simplified living for yourself eliminating all unnecessary expenses. It is true that as your working income increases, the expenses invariably go up.

After realizing these factors, I decided & analyzed the situations. I have calculated the amount I am going to save in next six months & then I can invest a part of it which in turn would earn me additional amount in another six months. The countdoen has sarted & I am really excited about seeing the results. And doing all this is indeed so much of fun too. Try it & enjoy life for ever. ;)

In my previous post I wrote about Freelancing. Freelancing projects would be easy to get if one is selling & promoting services & products provided by them and let people know about their existence. Your expertise has to be known to the world & how they can be benefited by your experience in a particular field.

You may come across people who may just not react on the promotions you are doing for your services regardless how it can benefit them but there are indeed people who require your expertise. The market is full of products & services & which would as similar as yours but what one has to focus on is "Packaging" i.e. promoting your services in an attractive way. Explaining what you are offering in a way where you explain your services are better than other service providers.

To promoting one's services/products, identification of customers who would be willing to buy them is essential. Then comes presenting the services/products to them. Secondly, the important factor that would help you to come in picture is identification of the right medium through which promotions can be done effectively & the information reaches out to the customers seeking the services/products. Virtual presence is one of the best tools one can use to reach out to the customers. Internet also provides number of information on how to write or explain about your services. Literal meaning of Freelance is,"doing particular pieces of work for different organizations, rather than working all the time for a single organization." Reporter vs Expert - Why Most Bloggers Are Stuck Reporting

There are basically two types of bloggers in the world - reporters and experts - and some people perform both roles (usually the experts, it’s hard for reporters to become experts, but it’s easy for experts to report).

If you have ever taken an Internet marketing course or attended a seminar specifically for beginners, you have probably heard about the two different methodologies. Whenever the business model is based on content, and if you blog for money then the model is based on content, people are taught to either start as reporters, or if possible step up as experts.

I’ll be frank; you want to be the expert.

Reporters leverage the content of the experts and in most cases people start off as reporters because they haven’t established expertise. Experts enjoy the perks of preeminence, higher conversion rates because of perceived value, it’s easier to get publicity, people are more likely to seek you out rather than you having to seek others out, joint ventures come easier, etc… experts in most cases simply make more money and attract more attention.

Most Bloggers Are Reporters

The thing with expertise is that it requires something - experience. No person becomes an expert without doing things and learning. Bloggers usually start out without expertise and as a result begin their blogging journey by talking about everything going on in their niche (reporting) and by interviewing and talking about other experts (reporting again).

There’s nothing wrong with reporting of course and for many people it’s a necessity at first until you build up some expertise. Unfortunately the ratios are pretty skewed when it comes to reporters and experts - there are a lot more reporters than there are experts, hence reporters tend to struggle to gain attention and when they do, they often just enhance the reputation of the expert they are reporting on.

Don’t Replicate Your Teacher

If you have ever spent some time browsing products in the learn Internet marketing niche you will notice a pattern. Many people first study Internet marketing from a “guru” (for lack of a better term). The guru teaches how he or she is able to make money online, and very often the view that the student gleams is that in order to make money online you have to teach others how to make money online.

The end result of this process is a huge army of amateurs attempting to replicate what their teacher does in the same industry - the Internet marketing industry - not realizing that without expert status based on a proven record and all the perks that come with it, it’s next to impossible to succeed.

Even people, who enjoy marginal success, say for example growing an email list of 1,000 people, then go out and launch a product about how to grow an email list of 1,000 people. Now I have no problems with that, I think it’s fine to teach beginners and leverage whatever achievements you have, the problem is that people gravitate to the same niche - Internet marketing - and rarely have any key points of differentiation.

How many products out there do you know of that all claim to teach the same things - email marketing, SEO, pay per click, affiliate marketing, and all the sub-niches that fall under the category of Internet marketing. It’s a saturated market, yet when you see your teachers and other gurus making money teaching others how to make money (and let’s face it - making money as a subject is one of the most compelling) - your natural inclination is to follow in their footsteps.

If the key is to become an expert and you haven’t spent the last 5-10 years making money online, I suggest you look for another niche to establish expertise in.

Report on Your Process, Not Others

The secret to progress from reporter to expert is not to focus on other experts and instead report on your own journey. When you are learning how to do something and implementing things day by day, or studying other people’s work, you need to take your process and what you do as a result of what you learn, and use it as content for your blog.

It’s okay to talk about experts when you learn something from them, but always relate it to what you are doing. If you learn a technique from an expert it’s fine to state you learned it from them (and affiliate link to their product too!) but you should then take that technique, apply it to what you are doing and then report back YOUR results, not there’s. Frame things using your opinion - your stories - and don’t regurgitate what the expert said. The key is differentiation and personality, not replication.

Expertise comes from doing things most people don’t do and then talking about it. If you do this often enough you wake up one day as an expert, possibly without even realizing how it happened, simply because you were so good at reporting what you did.

You Are Already An Expert

Most people fail to become experts (or perceived as experts) because they don’t leverage what they already know. Every person who lives a life learns things as they go, takes action every day and knows something about something. The reason why they never become an expert is because they choose not to (which is fine for some, not everyone wants to be an expert), but if your goal is to blog your way to expertise and leave the world of reporting behind you have to start teaching and doing so by leveraging real experience.

Experience can come from what you do today and what you have done previously; you just need to take enough steps to demonstrate what you already know and what you are presently learning along your journey. I know so many people in my life, who are experts simply by virtue of the life they have lived, yet they are so insecure about what they know, they never commit their knowledge to words for fear of…well fear.

Blogs and the Web in general, are amazing resources when you leverage them as a communication tool to spread your expertise because of the sheer scope of people they can reach. If all you ever do is talk to people in person and share your experience using limited communication mediums, you haven’t much hope of becoming an expert. Take what you know and show other people through blogging, and you might be surprised how people change their perception of you in time.

Reporting Is A Stepping Stone

If your previous experience and expertise is from an area you want to leave behind or you are starting from “scratch”, then reporting is the path you must walk, at least for the short term.

Reporting is a lot of fun. Interviewing experts, talking about what other people are doing and just being part of a community is not a bad way to blog. In many cases people make a career of reporting (journalism is about just that), but if you truly want success and exponential results, at some point you will have to stand up and proclaim yourself as someone unusually good at something and then proceed to demonstrate it over and over again.

Have patience and focus on what you do to learn and then translate that experience into lessons for others, and remember, it’s okay to be a big fish in a small pond, that’s all most experts really are.

Now unless you went out and purchased someone else''s blog chances are your blog launched with only one very loyal reader - you. Maybe a few days later you received a few hits when you told your sister, father, girlfriend and best friend about your new blog but that''s about as far you went when it comes to finding readers.Here are the top 10 techniques new bloggers can use to find readers.

These are tips specifically for new bloggers, those people who have next-to-no audience at the moment and want to get the ball rolling.

It helps if you work on this list from top to bottom as each technique builds on the previous step to help you create momentum. Eventually once you establish enough momentum you gain what is called "traction", which is a large enough audience base (about 500 readers a day is good) that you no longer have to work too hard on finding new readers. Instead your current loyal readers do the work for you through word of mouth.Top 10 Tips

10. Write at least five major "pillar" articles. A pillar article is usually a tutorial style article aimed to teach your audience something. Generally they are longer than 500 words and have lots of very practical tips or advice. This article you are currently reading could be considered a pillar article since it is very practical and a good "how-to" lesson. This style of article has long term appeal, stays current (it isn''t news or time dependent) and offers real value and insight. The more pillars you have on your blog the better.

9. Write one new blog post per day minimum. Not every post has to be a pillar, but you should work on getting those five pillars done at the same time as you keep your blog fresh with a daily news or short article style post. The important thing here is to demonstrate to first time visitors that your blog is updated all the time so they feel that if they come back tomorrow they will likely find something new. This causes them to bookmark your site or subscribe to your blog feed.

You don''t have to produce one post per day all the time but it is important you do when your blog is brand new. Once you get traction you still need to keep the fresh content coming but your loyal audience will be more forgiving if you slow down to a few per week instead. The first few months are critical so the more content you can produce at this time the better.

8. Use a proper domain name. If you are serious about blogging be serious about what you call your blog. In order for people to easily spread the word about your blog you need an easily rememberable domain name. People often talk about blogs they like when they are speaking to friends in the real world (that''s the offline world, you remember that place right?) so you need to make it easy for them to spread the word and pass on your URL. Try and get a .com if you can and focus on small easy to remember domains rather than worry about having the correct keywords (of course if you can get great keywords and easy to remember then you''ve done a good job!).

7. Start commenting on other blogs. Once you have your pillar articles and your daily fresh smaller articles your blog is ready to be exposed to the world. One of the best ways to find the right type of reader for your blog is to comment on other people''s blogs. You should aim to comment on blogs focused on a similar niche topic to yours since the readers there will be more likely to be interested in your blog.

Most blog commenting systems allow you to have your name/title linked to your blog when you leave a comment. This is how people find your blog. If you are a prolific commentor and always have something valuable to say then people will be interested to read more of your work and hence click through to visit your blog.

6. Trackback and link to other blogs in your blog posts. A trackback is sort of like a blog conversation. When you write a new article to your blog and it links or references another blogger''s article you can do a trackback to their entry. What this does is leave a truncated summary of your blog post on their blog entry - it''s sort of like your blog telling someone else''s blog that you wrote an article mentioning them. Trackbacks often appear like comments.

This is a good technique because like leaving comments a trackback leaves a link from another blog back to yours for readers to follow, but it also does something very important - it gets the attention of another blogger. The other blogger will come and read your post eager to see what you wrote about them. They may then become a loyal reader of yours or at least monitor you and if you are lucky some time down the road they may do a post linking to your blog bringing in more new readers.

5. Encourage comments on your own blog. One of the most powerful ways to convince someone to become a loyal reader is to show there are other loyal readers already following your work. If they see people commenting on your blog then they infer that your content must be good since you have readers so they should stick around and see what all the fuss is about. To encourage comments you can simply pose a question in a blog post. Be sure to always respond to comments as well so you can keep the conversation going.

4. Submit your latest pillar article to a blog carnival. A blog carnival is a post in a blog that summarizes a collection of articles from many different blogs on a specific topic. The idea is to collect some of the best content on a topic in a given week. Often many other blogs link back to a carnival host and as such the people that have articles featured in the carnival enjoy a spike in new readers.

3. Submit your blog to blogtopsites.com. To be honest this tip is not going to bring in a flood of new readers but it''s so easy to do and only takes five minutes so it''s worth the effort. Go to Blog Top Sites, find the appropriate category for your blog and submit it. You have to copy and paste a couple of lines of code on to your blog so you can rank and then sit back and watch the traffic come in. You will probably only get 1-10 incoming readers per day with this technique but over time it can build up as you climb the rankings. It all helps!

2. Submit your articles to EzineArticles.com. This is another tip that doesn''t bring in hundreds of new visitors immediately (although it can if you keep doing it) but it''s worthwhile because you simply leverage what you already have - your pillar articles. Once a week or so take one of your pillar articles and submit it to Ezine Articles. Your article then becomes available to other people who can republish your article on their website or in their newsletter.

How you benefit is through what is called your "Resource Box". You create your own resource box which is like a signature file where you include one to two sentences and link back to your website (or blog in this case). Anyone who publishes your article has to include your resource box so you get incoming links. If someone with a large newsletter publishes your article you can get a lot of new readers at once.

1. Write more pillar articles. Everything you do above will help you to find blog readers however all of the techniques I''ve listed only work when you have strong pillars in place. Without them if you do everything above you may bring in readers but they won''t stay or bother to come back. Aim for one solid pillar article per week and by the end of the year you will have a database of over 50 fantastic feature articles that will work hard for you to bring in more and more readers.

Being a new blogger I had a hard time to get readers for my blog. I searched on the web the techniques to get more readers to my blog, but what helps is what we actually do. I had to make sure that if someone has visited my blog, reader should come back again to my web page. To assure this I had to make sure that every time a reader come back again to my blog, there should be something new and attractive on my web page, or may be some content which people would love to read again and again. I do blogging because I enjoy it and ofcourse I love when people appreciate the template or content or leave the suggestions. Well who doesn't?? But we should also be willing to do the same. It shows readers are interested in blog but no doubt they expect more when they visit next time. To get more more readers to visit blog the first and foremost thing is to make readers know that web page exists. Networking is one of the strongest tools to make virtual presence. Blogcatalog, MyBlogLog, Technorati etc. are some of the networking tools for bloggers. Most of the visitors to your blog would be bloggers. Therefore, Join these networking sites and start visiting blogs of other bloggers and leave comments. But do not always leave the link of your web page in your comment as it shows that you visited just because you wanted them to return your page. Even if you don't mention that and leave a genuine opinion, they will come back to you. Start adding bloggers as friends. They would definitely return back to your web page and leave their suggestions. Keep your community friends updated about new postings you make. Your profile picture also attracts readers. If your profile picture is interesting, readers may get anxious to visit your profile and web page. So upload an interesting picture. If they add you as friend, you should add them as friends in return. Keep taking part in discussions in the community. The way we marketing web page through a right tool brings results and more readers. It takes a little time, but be patient.

Links- Important Tool for WebPages

Every page which is virtually present wants more & more readers/traffic to visit the page. Usually if the webpage appears in the initial pages in the search results of a search engine, more readers/visitors/traffic it will have. To reach the initial pages of the results the technique a website follow is known as Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

"Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results for targeted keywords." (Source:www.wikipedia.org)

To appear in the initial pages or earlier in the search result of the search engine, a page has to have higher "PageRank" (PR). Page Rank determines the page value on the web. It contains a numeric value which influences the importance of the webpage. One of the techniques to increase Page Rank is "Website Linking" which is usually used in regards to SEO. The more links or webpages added to the site, the higher the page rank will be. Each new page linked to the site will add value to the site on the web. But Google does not consider all the links. It filters out the links from link farms. Therefore, care should be taken that a webpage is not creating Link Farm.

"Link Farm:On the World Wide Web, a link farm is any group of web sites that all hyperlink to every other page in the group. Although some link farms can be created by hand, most are created through automated programs and services. A link farm is a form of spamming the index of a search engine (sometimes called spamdexing or spamexing). Other link exchange systems are designed to allow individual websites to selectively exchange links with other relevant websites and are not considered a form of spamdexing." Search engines have identified that reciprocal links influence the search results & such pages are filtered by search engines. Therefore, care should be taken while linking to other sites. Links should be created in such a way where these links are natural to the eyes of the search engines and help in increasing the pagerank. Reciprocal links exchange (only) to will lead to create the page of Link Farm.

Apart from reciprocal link exchange, Webring is another way to linking which is more natural link exchanges in the eyes of search engines. E.g. A (Links to) B (Links to) C (Links to) D (Links to) E (Links to) A. So I can reach the Website E if i have entered the website A. Another linking tool is One Way Linking (Inbound/Incoming Links) which means there are no reciprocal links (No exchange of links). Links can be added to the webpage which can be useful to the readers of your blog or which can provide relevant information with regards to the blog. Link baiting is also a technique where links can be added to the posts or content of the website which is related to the post/content & readers may be interested to read it through.
