Faux Dry Embossing

I CASEd (copy and share everything) this technique from Sheryl Dickson. It's simple and so very elegant. Thanks Sheryl!

Ink your image in White craft Ink and stamp on card stock. Set aside to dry or heat set.

Stamp the same image on the Stamp-a-ma-jig clear sheety using the same color ink as the card stock.

Place the stamped image from the clear sheet over the white image on your card. Move the clear image sheet just slightly to the left so it's off center.

Ink up your image again. Leaving the jig in place, remove the clear image sheet and stamp over the previously stamped image.

Polished Stone Explained

What you need for the Polished Stone Technique is this:

Glossy Card Stock

3 water based dye re-inkers (Summer Sun, Tangerine Tango & Kiwi Kiss) by Stampin' Up!

1 metallic re-inker (gold)

Rubbing Alcohol

small bowl or other suitable container

cotton balls

Dip a cotton ball in alcohol until thoroughly saturated, then squeeze out a little of the excess into the bowl. Add 1 drop of metallic gold ink in the middle of the cotton ball, followed by 2 drops of Summer Sun on either side of it and then 2 drops of Tangerine Tango and finally 1 drop of Kiwi Kiss.

Turn the cotton ball over and starting in the middle of the glossy card stock, pounce it (or bounce it) all over until the card is completely covered. If you smear it, the colors will blend together and look muddy.

Let dry. (Takes a few minutes). Stamp your image on the background.

You can do this on non-glossy card stock for a different effect -- it just won't look "polished". Enjoy!

I didn't think that Dreams du Jour could be used without the Bella Rose designer paper, but Stacey proved me wrong. I almost totally cased her card. Her work is much better. Thanks, Stacey. You can see more of her art work at her blog.

Bella Bag-a-lope

A Bag-a-Lope is an envelope turned into a little gift bag.

To get the pattern, I just took apart one of our standard sized SU! envelopes and traced the pattern out on our new Bella Designer Series Paper.

The topper is made with the BigZ Top Note die. (I just love ~~playing~~, creating new things with the new Big Shot.) Use the crop-a-dile (CAD) to punch through all the layers of paper at one time -- easy-peasy.

The matching ribbon is the Riding Hood Red taffata.

The inside is stuffed with home made raffia and chocolate -- Of course!

Although I DID cut the ribbon short, it was intentional. Not just because I wanted to save ribbon, but it also makes a smoother area for adding the main focus that I'm about to use with dimensionals.

Inspired By Nature

Wow! We made this fabulous card tonight at my upline's "Direct's" Meeting.

It's a real beauty that I will definitely and totally CASE (Copy and Share Everything).

OK, I'll also try it out in some other colors and arrangements, but the basic procedure will still be the same.

Stamp Set: Inspired by Nature, and Heard from the Heart

Ink: Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette

Card Stock: Tangerine Tango, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White

Other: 1/4" White Grosgrain Ribbon

How to: Stamp the daisies with the P.Pirouette classic ink pad. Using a sponge dauber rubbed in the T.Tango ink, lightly "bounce" the dauber on the center or top portion of the flower buds. Then take another dauber and rub it in the R.H.Red ink and touch up the petals. Give your stamp the "breath test" by huffing on it to moisten the ink and then stamp on the W.White card stock.

I also sponged the edges of the W.W. cardstock with the R.H.Red ink dauber. My partner and sister demonstrator, Diana Bock, said she's going to use her two-way glue pen and add a little Dazzling Diamonds to the buds. Thanks for the idea!
