Socialite with Stiletto Society

I am happy to announce officially on this blog that I got selected to be a socialite out of 30 girls who encompass the Stiletto Society, Shoedazzle's Brand Ambassador program! I seriously needed this more than they need me because with having two blogs, I admit this one has suffered a great deal.

I feel with being a new socialite with this amazing group of girls, it's gonna be the foundation of where I want to go with my beauty/fashion blog Bellaesque.

I just got done with our orientation conference call and here's the scope of what it means to be part of the Stiletto Society:

During the call I noticed some socialites were also in Dallas so I'm excited that I'll be able to meet them if we have a meetup one day.

On a side note, the other day Bellaesque hit 90 Bloglovin' followers!! Thank y'all for following my blog and I appreciate your patience because this blog is like having a second dog or something, but I have hopes that it will go where I want it to go and I'm thankful for this opportunity.

New Facelift: Brand Me Beautiful

Well look who got a facelift around here?! "Bellaesque" that's who! {or what}.

This was way overdue and I admittedly was not feeling it here lately so to get me back in the beauty/fashion groove, I decided it was time for a new look and voila!

I got the layout from Etsy at Brand Me Beautiful so be sure to check them out because they got some pretty swanky schmancy pretty layout templates and it was super easy to install, especially with their tutorials they include with the files you download.

I also admit that Dateless in Dallas has been getting a lot of attention and therefore it has been tough to try to keep this blog and the other one afloat. So to get back in the swing of things I think I will start off with a little confession.

Ever since I started as a stylist for Stella & Dot a month ago, I have been toying around with gold jewelry. I'm usually a silver jewelry type of girl, but I can't help myself and cheat a little on silver with some good ol' gold! It's been a new thing for me and it's a little bit exciting, kinda like if I was having a legit affair with a lover. Plus, that's what's in style right now anyway so I jumped on that wagon faster than speedy Gonzales.

Anywho, I am off to get some beauty sleep.. BIG day tomorrow.

Winter Must Haves

Hey guys! I know I have abandoned this blog for what seemed like forever, but I decided I still want to keep it alive and therefore I am doing a new post and redid my blog layout! Woot woot!

So today I want to post about the winter items that are a must have which I have been obsessing over, but haven't gotten around to getting these items as of yet. Although, some of these I do have, but for fun's sake let's just get to it shall we?

I realized I don't own any vests and I gotta add these to my winter wardrobe. This girl is wearing the #2 vest and I love the way this looks with the plaid shirt. Must have!

I have always wanted to get leather leggings, but I have yet to try them on and hope that I don't look ridiculous.

I love anything with leopard and leopard scarfs are a definite must. I actually have one I got a couple of years ago, but I think I'm itching to get another one, especially in the infinity scarf style.

Speaking of infinity scarves, on Black Friday I got myself a black infinity scarf from NY&CO and I love it! I really want to get a tan/blush one like this one.

I am dying for a new coat and this red one I gotta have! Love love love!

I really love leg warmers and I do not have any in my wardrobe! I tried getting some from Target when I went with my friend and they were out of the neutral color I wanted. Better luck next time I guess.

I love thick sweaters and pairing them with a white blouse makes it look so chic, I want!

I love sweater dresses! especially when you get to pair them with boots and leggings.

I am in need of some serious eyeshadow pallete and this one wouldn't be too bad as it has the right amount of shimmer and matte eyeshadows. Gotta have it!

Upcoming Event: Make Up For Ever Make Up Bag Remix

MAKE UP FOR EVER is taking its Make Up School on the road and will be coming to Dallas on Saturday, February 23rd and Sunday, February 24th to North Park mall. I'm going on Saturday the 23rd and I'm really excited about this event! Spring is just around the corner and I think I need some creative ideas on what Spring colors I should use. I actually have some bright shadows from MUFE, but I have no idea how to combine the look to where I feel comfortable and not looking like a complete clown.

I got a couple of complimentary items shipped to me this week days before the event to try out and I really love the aqua liquid eyeliner (in matte black). I ended up getting the aqua brow gel (in ash), which ended up being a lighter color than what I had expected, but after applying it I think it blends extremely well with my natural brow color. Winning!

The blush is pretty and bright for Spring. It's in Color 8.

Hey everyone! I know it's been awhile since I last updated my blog here and I sincerely apologize. I'm determined now more than ever to get back to my beauty/fashion blogging. First, I will say that Bellaesque has officially turned 1! It was last month and I can't believe it's been a year already.

I went to Sephora recently and got myself a pink/nude lipstick from Make Up For Ever (in N18) and Smashbox lipgloss (in "For Keeps"). I often like to do smokey eye and this combo put together is the best way to show off a smokey eye.

New York Fashion Week came and went this year and one of the designers to watch out for is Shauntele and her Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. Every designer with each collection has to have an inspirational theme of what they felt inspired by. For Shauntele, her inspiration in this collection is nature/natural beauty and psychology as stated by pdnews:

The inspiration for this collection was two-fold. First, themes of nature were used to serve as a means of celebrating the natural beauty that many women possess. Leaf prints and abstract images reminiscent of coral streaked sunsets made for great visual starting points around this idea.

Additionally, Shauntele wanted to bring the psychology of fashion to the forefront. “I found the symmetrical and dark forms of the Rorschach inkblots to be romantic way of symbolizing this psychology of fashion, “stated Shauntele Richardson when asked about her inspiration. “The challenge of each collection is to portray strength and femininity in these garments I put forth.” - papierdoll.net

Fashion's Night Out 2012 at Galleria

Last week, I had a chance to attend Fashion's Night Out at the Galleria since I was invited to Toni and Guy to their pre-party along with partaking in the fashion festivities that were all throughout the Galleria mall. I'll be honest, I had no idea they did this! This was my first time going and I wasn't sure what to expect. I got there right after work so I wasn't dressed up like everyone else was and I went by myself so it was pretty low key night for me.

As soon as I got to Toni and Guy they greeted me with a glass of wine and hors d'oeuvres that were just delish! They were doing our hair and makeup and it was nice to sit back and relax being made up. They gave me a goodie bag which included two bottles of TIGI hairspray, Bed Head After Party Styling Creme, Blah Blah Blah Thickening Hair Creme, and even some green hair chalk!

Being a die hard shoe fanatic, the only thing on the itinerary that caught my eye were the sales they had at Steve Madden and I was overdue for some nude pumps. They also gave me a 10% off coupon and with $100 purchase I got a free studded iPad case! I don't even have an iPad but it's nice to know that I have a case for when I get gifted an iPad.

I found some awesome pics online that covered the fashion runway.. It seems I'm drawn to blue this season.

I love peplum tops!

I can't wait for next year and I'll be sure to be more prepared. Viva Fashion!

Product Review: Brazilian Blowout {The Salon & Spa}

Happy Sunday funday! This past week I was cordially invited to check out The Salon & Spa for their services and give them my opinion of what I thought/experienced. Since I have never tried the Brazilian Blowout and I don't really need a cut, or any type of color {Did my own Ombre hair this past week}, this made perfect sense to try!

For those of you who do not know what a Brazilian blowout is, a wiki search did the trick:

Brazilian hair smoothing treatments eliminate frizz, smooth the hair and last about three months. These treatments aim to smooth out unruly curls and waves and to reduce frizz. The treatments do not guarantee completely straight hair, although if performed correctly they can reduce between 50 and 80 percent of the curl depending on the original hair texture. Treatments last around 10–12 weeks and repeating the treatment every few months will allow for treatment of new growth.

First off, the salon does their Brazilian blowout a bit different. I heard from my hairdresser who did my hair that they don't use formaldehyde in their product which distinguishes them from other salons. They also do the blowout different because they put the product in your hair, let it dry and then style it with a flat iron to finish. Other salons may do the blowout by washing off the product, then styling it with a flat iron.

Being how I have the product sealed in my hair I have to wait 72 hours before washing my hair and I can't put it in a pony tail {there goes my workouts, good thing I ran earlier that morning} to prevent the product from creasing and getting compromised.

One thing I really liked about the process is that this salon used a "chocolate scent" inside the mixture they put in my hair, so now my hair smells like chocolate! I love it! I was a bit shocked because I thought she was going to bake something, so it definitely threw me off. She said they have scented mixtures because since the fumes and chemicals are so strong they went in that direction to accommodate their clients. Very nice!

So far my hair is frizz-free, which came in handy last night since it rained cats and dogs. This is my actual hair sans hair extensions. I can't put my extensions back in until I can wash my hair because the clip ins could crimp the hair. Needless to say, I feel this will be my solution to growing my hair out because the keratin in the hair will help it to not be as unruly, will be easier to style due to its smoothness, and I won't have to straighten as often which usually is the kicker to what damages my hair.

I give the Brazilian Blowout 5 stars! I know it's a bit premature to rate it since I should wait until I can wash my hair, but I thought this will be the first post you can learn about it and I may do a follow up post later this week.

DIY: Ombre Hair Tutorial

I woke up yesterday thinking I should do ombre on my own because for one, I'm on a budget and two, I don't feel like waiting for my hairdresser to tell me when she can see me. So when you have no patience and want instant results just do a little googling and voila.. off I go with my own DIY Ombre Hair attempt!

First, I went to the store and got the Clairol Born Blonde kit. It comes with gloves, a bottle with developer creme, lightening creme, and powder mix. Basically everything you need to make this happen.

This is my hair before the dying process begun. Make sure to wear a shirt that can get messy/you don't care for.

Next I did a "strand test" (which is taking a small portion of hair from your scalp, I actually used a hair extension that was the same color as my hair) since the instructions said to test to see how long it will take to get the color desired.

I made sure to dry the strand with the blow dryer because when the hair is wet it will look darker. This process took about 45 min. I highly recommend to do the strand test first because that way you know the exact time it will take you to get the color that you want.

So I started applying the hair dye below my ear lobes and only applied it on the hair omitting the roots. After 30 min, I applied the rest of the dye on the roots because you want to prevent the roots from being lighter than the rest of your hair, so you leave it for last. Waited 40 more minutes and I washed it all out.

Now I have a confession to make.. As this was my first attempt at doing my own hair, I didn't realize I was supposed to use the whole entire bottle! I know, silly of me! haha, and instead only squeezed out enough to wet the hair. Basically, I didn't get the shade of color that I really wanted. So with that being said, I will do another and final attempt this weekend and post more pics. As they say, practice makes perfect right?

One key piece of info I will give you is if you have layers like me, especially around the face, you want to make sure to put some of the dye on the roots of your hair around your face. I used a tutorial Kandee the Makeup Artist posted up on her YouTube channel, which definitely helped give me an idea of what to do. That's totally optional but I think it looks really pretty and gives you that summery look and glow around your face.

Fabulous Hair is a Fashion Must!

Hey Bellaesque readers! I hope y'all had a great weekend! I sure had a great one and lately what's been on my mind is all about hair. I wanted to show you guys two particular looks that can really make a fashionable statement on whichever outfit you decide to rock for the day or night.

The sleek, straight long hair {Virgin Indian Remy} look is a definite must! It looks very simple, yet elegant when you style your hair straight like the picture above because as you can see it really flows with the outfit with its fine lines. It's no secret that animal prints like this leopard jacket are a go to item for the upcoming fall season. What I love about jackets is that they can be paired with several items, but my absolute favorite is the skinny jeans with heels pairing pictured above.

I know for me personally I prefer the straight sleek hair as my normal daytime look, but it can definitely be versatile with a night-out-on-the-town look as well.

Nothing else adds more volume and sass than wearing your hair wavy with a casual day outfit. Brown/tan jackets are a must have in your closet to get ready for the fall. Also, button down shirts don't need to only go with work attire, but if paired with a nice jacket and jeans you can make it work for you.

Smokey eye is one of my obsessions and it looks amazing on this gorgeous model! Even if you go the casual route, it gives it that extra finesse... or Bellaesque.

Product Review: Theraplex

Hey y'all! Hope your weekend is going good. I know it's been awhile since my last post but I'm back and really excited about this product I will review and show you guys!

It's called Theraplex, The Medical Moisturizer. It's dermatologist recommended, hypoallergenic, fragrance free and not tested on animals. I've been using it for a week now and the results have been phenomenal! It was very much needed especially with the dry summer we've been having in Texas, it definitely came in at the right time.

On the left is the Clearlotion consistency, and to the right is the Hydrolotion daily moisturizer. The Clearlotion is amazing to use because it can be applied right after you take a shower/bath and it locks in the moisture your skin needs, especially when water and soap a lot of times can strip away your skin's moisture because of all the chemicals. It contains a fraction of petrolatum and jojoba oil which helps your skin stay smooth and supple. I really liked this lotion because after shaving, it was almost like a soothing lotion that kept my skin moist immediately throughout the day and I wouldn't get the irritation you feel after you shave your legs.

The hydrolotion was also my favorite because you can use it to moisturize your hands, legs, feet, and face. The first time I used it I applied it on my face and when I woke up the next morning my skin thanked me.

This is what the Clearlotion and Hydrolotion look like when you open them, which I like the way it is designed because you don't have to worry about the product slipping out or drying out around the edges like some lotions out there.

When this little jar says ultimate skin care, that's exactly what it does. I admit I have very dry little feet and with this summer heat, I have some really dry spots on my heel area. I used this right on my heel and all over the rest of my feet and oh my goodness! talk about instant moisturization and I don't feel my feet are dry anymore. It's also useful to apply on your cuticles and it can be a bit sticky but once it settles into your skin, it reaps the rewards. I would say if you use it on your hands a little dab of product will go a long way.

Product Review: Chocolate Hair

Hey everyone! It's been a minute since my last post, but I wanted to take a moment to share with you my latest hair extensions I got from Chocolate Hair! I'm wearing them in the picture above. I really like how lightweight these extensions are and they blend right in with my actual hair. People really cannot tell that I have them on and it feels good to not have that worry in my mind that it looks artificial. These extensions are 18", human hair, can be washed/dyed, and are very easy to style.

Simple casual work outfit for What I Wore Wednesday! You know how there's certain items in your closet you completely forget about until you remember, or see a picture that triggers the memory of your item? well, I remembered the other day how I have these wonderful Michael Kors shoes, which I haven't worn in a long time, but I've had them for about a year. So as I was looking for them in my closet this morning, they were hiding, which explains why I forgot I had them! Anywho, they inspired me to wear this outfit and I just love how shoes can be such an inspiration for a whole outfit.

I'm super happy it's Friday, like you have no idea how much I've been wanting it to be Friday all this week that when I realized what actual day it was {not Friday} I would seriously pout.

I went to get my nails done yesterday because at my new j-o-b, my natural nails were breaking left and right from all the filing/paper admin work.. since I'm so nit picky about how my nails need to be on point I figured I should just get a french solar nail set, so I did.

It's been FOUR years since I last got fake nails and it really feels weird. As I'm typing this blogpost, my nubs feel sore from the machine grinding down my nail beds, ouch! Not sure I'll keep it up with the fills because I hate having to sit at the nail salon for an hour, unless I'm getting a pedicure, it makes it worth your while.

Anywho, I also did some shopping on Amazon and got me the Baby Liss flat iron that my hairstylist uses, and highly recommends. I ended up getting two for the price of one, which is not a bad deal in case I wear one of them out, I'll have a spare.

The other day I was invited to preview Make Up Forever's Boutique, which is opening to the public at North Park mall soon but I get to see it first! I was really over the moon when I got the email invite. So that's happening within two weeks and I can't wait.

Hello everyone! I hope your week has been incredibly fantastic. For What I'm Wearing Wednesday, I put this outfit together and I like how I was able to still wear it to work, and it's also versatile because you can take off the cardigan and just wear the strapless top for going out for happy hour or what have you. The top is my absolute favorite because it sorta resembles a leopard print, but it's not too abrupt, and it goes seamlessly with anything you decide to wear, such as jeans, white pants, or khaki shorts. I got the top from H&M for a mere $5.95! Score right? Love it.

What I Wore Wednesday: Neon Nature Print + Mint Jeans

Wow, this week has flown by! I can't believe the week is almost over.. and here we are in a new month! Hello May! I went shopping this weekend, and fell in love with this nature print at H&M so much that I bought the top {worn last week}, the blouse shown here, the knee high dress AND the long dress, all in the same nature print pattern. I may make a romper out of all the fabric I basically collected, haha. I love color jeans and these mint jeans are definitely one of my favorite pieces to wear because you can wear it with pretty much any color, and it will look like dynamite! The black shoes definitely add a nice accent to the entire outfit and I'm in love with this color combo.

Happy humpday lovelies! Today I felt like mixing some neon print top I recently got at H&M with black jeans since it's still casual, yet more dressy casual. At H&M they also have a strapless dress with the same nature neon print, but I wasn't too crazy about the fabric. I'm debating whether I should go back and get it and try it on. Anyway, today a man came up to me and complimented me on my shoes! I love it when that happens because men usually don't say much about your style, so it brought a smile to my face. Fit Challenge: Slimmer in 30 Days

Since the weather is getting warmer as the days progress, I decided that starting today I will do a strict 30 day diet. This diet is something I think I can be comfortable with, and at the same time not too comfortable to where it won't get hard because hello? it's a challenge! My goal is to lose 15 pounds, and even if I shed 10, I will still be happy. You'd be amazed what 10 pounds alone can do.

So every day I will jot down what I ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner so that way I hold myself accountable, and will think twice when I want to get a donut, or so God help me, Starbucks! As far as what I'll be eating I'll just mainly eat chicken and veggies, or fish with veggies, I'll switch them around. Absolutely no carbs! which means no bread, no pasta, no rice. I did eat wheat pasta today but at least it's wheat. No drinking during the week! and if I drink, I will just get a glass of wine. I'm going to cut down on my consumption as to not ruin a whole week of discipline on booze.

I know this will be hard, but I need to do this, and it's only for a month. I want to be more confident when I slip into a bikini, and not have to be conscious about my body. Also, I need to start working out again, go back to running because it's been too long since I've kept it up. I'm excited, ready to take this challenge on and conquer!
