Seems like I'm always makin reference to the weather out here in Singapore - well thats because its gone stark raving bonkers. We had really nice cool days - yesterday and the day before - because of continuous light rain. Today, its back to 33 degrees Celsius or 91 degrees Farenheight. Over and above that we have high humidity levels which can be uncomfortable but it does help keep the body cool.

The weather too has made me feel really lousy. Some kind of viral thingy and I've more or less slept thru' 2 full days - just making quick trips for my errands and then back indoor and sprawled on the sofa where I indulge in Nancy Grace and her less than socially accepted attitude....but I love her :))

OK....now to the creation up here......soft pastel colours, oval shape shell pearls which are smaller than the ones I used in BLOSSOM recently. These are about 15mm long. I've had the pearls for a while but today I received my package of handmade art glass beads in matte finish and in shades that go so well with the pearls I had on hand.....pink, lavender, turquoise, ivory....These beautiful glass beads are handmade by Judith Billig

The necklace measures approx 20 cm from end to end.

Aside from completing and working thru' some custom orders, I am also sorting/pricing/scratching my head and asking myself why I'm going to start on an 'added' project that might come to an 'out of pocket' situation for me.

I am often approached to feature/share my blog with other jewellery designers or manufacturers because of the traffic I receive. 99% of the time I politely decline. However, a supplier of some of my findings has been very persistent and persuasive in requesting that I carry a range of his ready to wear jewellery. This has been going on for almost a year. I've given many reasons to him on why I should not but he has convinced me as to why I should.

Last month I finally caved in and said "OK but on a trial basis"......... keep an eye out for a link that I will be adding that will feature for the time being 'ready to wear earrings'- goldfilled or sterling silver.

My first creation in about a week. I needed that kick in the behind to get myself back into the swing of things. I am still physically tired but I need to shake off this lethargy.

I specially selected these gorgeous citrine faceted heart shape brios. Topped with peach and off white keishi pearls, rhodochrosite, garnet and amethyst.

Brios are flawless and weigh in at approx 50 carats combined.

I've been hanging on to these gorgeous mosaic shell pearl beads in various shapes and not really wanting to make use of them till I found the perfect partners to team them up with. Here, I've used the rectangle and coin shape pearls and fitted in gorgeous velvety red, handmade artisan lampwork flower and spacer beads. Necklace measures approx 20.5" and ends with a vermeil toggle.

I love this colour palette - turquoise, teal, light bronze, mint, peacock blue.....A medley of amazonite, freshwater and shell pearls, this necklace showcases a gorgeous heart shape polymer clay pendant which measures approx 28mm x 28mm.

The necklace has an opalite flower from which a cluster of rondells in the same colour scheme as the beads, flow out.

Necklace is approx. 19"from end to end.

Another sunny, beautiful weekend out here in Singapore.

This week I worked mainly on custom orders yet found time, as usual, to have a small diversion and quickly put pen on paper to sketch what you now see above.

I've been fingering these gorgeous oval shape glass pearls in shades of smokey pink, lavendar, silver, light mint and midnight blue and finally decided to team them up with this stunning set of of handmade lampwork beads. Black blossom with a cranberry centre and spacer beads with white, black and pink embelishments. Frosted smokey quartz rondells have been added as spacers. Necklace measures approx 24" and ends with a vermeil toggle.

Inspired by the beautifull bright, sunshiney day with a cloudless sky - where I'm situated anyway - I selected this gorgeous pair of deep citrine quartz, almond shape faceted brios.

I've named this pair THEIA after the mythological Greek Goddess of sight and shining light. A lush topping of freshwater pearls, apatite, green onyx and quartz, this is a good interpretation of the name THEIA or THEA.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend. Its a beautiful, lazy Sunday out here, slight breeze, filtered sunlight and a general stillness which is perfect for just chillin'

However, it is also not a day to be wasted. I've created a juicy, sweet and perky pair of earrings using a gorgeous set of pink quartz hearts. These hearts have a bevelled edge, excellent cutting and finishing and weigh a whopping combined weight of 53 carats. They measure aprox 18mm at their widest and approx 2 cm long. Embellished with stones of different shapes - lantern shape, faceted apatite, garnet brios and rondells, apatite square slices, rose quartz, peridot, blue topaz, carnellian and ruby rondells.

What Summer you'll be asking.......well, for us in Singapore, its perennial.......Summer in the morning, Summer in the evening and Summer at supper time.......The last couple of weeks have been a little too hot to be out and about. Still, life goes on and we cope. In this creation I've selected really pretty peachy pink shell pearls and cooled them down with freshwater pearls and gorgeous square slices of moonstone. A very productive day for me. It was a scorcher of a day so I had good reason to stay indoors. Worked on a custom order and then I had to take a break and do something different.......picked out these gorgeous czech glass brios and rummaged thru' my lampwork beads to come up with something that would give a colour burst to these brios which have an unusual back that results in a kind of AB or mystic image on the front side. An explosion of colour!

All rondells used are czech glass, total drop of earrings from post to base of brios - 5.5cm

Still playing around with my stash of lampwork beads. This pair features buttercup translucent yellow base with shades of pink, green, yellow and gold. I've used a three ring series of hoops to hang off the base of these lampwork beads and have included a faceted gorgeous green amethyst briolette in the centre with an accompaniment of pink topaz, pyrite, peridot and lemon quartz rondells. Drop from top of earwire to base of largest hoop - a head turning 6.5cm. Largest hoop has a diameter of 3cm.

Before I set out for the day thought I'd upload this necklace which I completed last week but didn't have time to publish.

Banded, round agate, a mix of matte and gloss in each stone. Round agate stones measure approx 12mm. The side focals comprise a carved white agate flower measuring approx 2cm in diameter, a highly polished gorgeous agate smooth brio and an elongated orange, faceted quartz brio measuring 4/5cm x 112mm.

It may be snowing in Beijing and other parts of the world, but out here in Singapore we're on a heat overdrive! Ridiculously hot. A few weeks ago it was blissful......cool mornings, mid-day light showers, evening sunshine with a cool wind and pleasantly cool nights. Complete reverse now.......but then again all over the world weather conditions are'nt acting 'normal'.

Braving the heat I ventured outdoors to take photos of this necklace which I completed today. Taken at different locations outdoors .... some under shadow, some with sunshine streaming in from all directions.

Smooth, multi coloured fluorite wheels, lampwork glass beads in tones picked up from the fluorite and lovely smooth chrysoprase green chalcedony briolettes. Ends with a toggle. Spacers are goldfilled and gold vermeil. Lenth of necklace from end to end is 18"

Crazy hot start to our week. Whilst it did cool off for a bit, no rain followed. Waited till the sun set before I ventured outside to take these photos.

These lampwork wheels are truly unique. They are matte and opaque with earthy beiges and a few splashes of lavender/lilac. I've kept to the colour scheme and added an elongated lilac faceted quartz brio and a sprinkling of lovely matching tones in the form of rondells. Freshwater silvery grey pearls have also been added.
