Thanks to my new friends at The Superior Nut Company, I'm featuring candy! I'm so glad they contacted me with the idead because candy is one of my greatest passions. Lets face it, mason jars or color coded candies look way better than a hunting inspired three tiered cake bonanaza. And again gentleman, you're not sacrificing anything. You're simply trading an extra cake for LOTS of candy. With the candy working into your brides decor and favor plans, you'll be saving her time and money.

3. Left Overs - Last but definitly not least is pockets and pockets full of candy. You're not going to bring cake in your carry-on, but bags of candy will be your best friend. Whether its on your car ride away from the wedding, a midnight snack or a boredom fighter during long flights, you'll be glad you opted for the candy bar instead of a groom's cake.

Well, since I don't know you're groom personally (or the budget you're working with) I can't tell you exactly what would make the "perfect" gift. However here are some ideas that might help.

Timing is Important - The perfect "Day of The Wedding Gift" can easily be lost in the shuffle. You want him to really notice and appreciate what you got him, however his attention is being pulled in a million directions. Maybe tell him that you want to give him your gift later after the wedding. Having his full attention should make the gift giving go much smoother, and he'll appreciate it more.

To simplify groom shopping, some retailers offer on-line groom stores. J.Crew for instance, has a wedding section that narrows down the clothing items they deem fit for a wedding. While searching out Fall options for grooms at Macy's, I came across this gem: An interactive "What Suits You" quiz. The quiz asks your body type, whether you prefer modern or traditional, and if you're shopping for a work, social or formal event.

When I tried the quiz, Macy's on-line suit options went from 290 to 8! Groom's (and brides) I highly recommend checking this out! Macy's offers great suits at a variety of prices.

They may be a step or two behind on quality, but their prices are at least 5 steps behind other department stores, and with Targets across the US it is also a great place to outfit your groomsmen. Buying or renting a tuxedo is a subject I spend a lot of time discussing on my site, so this morning I want to quickly go over three reasons to buy instead of rent.

It's About Fit -Fit is probably the most important element overlooked by the majority of grooms. If you've spent any time searching through your friends wedding pictures on Facebook you'll see their cuffs are often hanging over their palms and their pants are folding over around their shoes. Yes, when you rent a tux they take your measurements, but honestly it seems that when the tuxes come in they might as well not have measured you at all. You can rent the most expensive tux in the shop, but if it's not correctly fit you've wasted your money. Maybe I've just had a back luck, but it seems that the major rental locations aren't very precise with fit, and most grooms don't recognize the problem. When buying a tuxedo you're starting with a suit that almost fits perfectly. Buying doesn't mean you shouldn't tailor, but you're only making minor changes to the tux that you're wearing in the store. Your chances of getting the perfect fit are much higher.

It's About Class - Keep it Classy- If you're buying a tux you wouldn't ask the manager where they keep their top hats and flashy-green 15 button vests would you? However, all to often when flipping through the look books at the rental shop grooms become distracted by the biggest and brightest and forget this isn't the high school prom. The best dressed gents on the red carpet keep it simple and classy. Grooms want to and should stand out, but that doesn't mean go over the top.

It's About Patience - Buying instead of renting is more work, but you'll walk out knowing you picked the right tux for you. You'll probably have to visit multiple locations, try on more pants and stress over more price tags, but it's making these tough decisions that will make the difference. When renting, often you walk into one location, flip through one book and settle on a decision. Yes its easier, but are you really sure about what you're getting? The decision to buy forces you to really consider your purchase. Putting this extra thought into you outfit will make a big difference on your wedding day.

Groom's Pocket: What to Carry When You're Getting Married

Whether it is your wedding day or you're recently engaged, there are a few items grooms should keep close at all times. So I've started a series dedicated to important pocket items every groom should carry.

#1 - Ricqles Peppermint Cure

Being a groom is one of the best times of your life. You're engaged to the love of your life. You're calling your closest friends and settling travel plans for them to come see you. However being a groom also means too many meetings, too much traveling and too many strangers, leaving you tired and sick. Being to tired after work to go with your bride to the florist isn't an excuse to stay home. It just means you need to suck it up and go!

This is why it's important to keep a cure all in your pocket or at least glove-box at all times. Peppermint Cure is 1.75 ounces of soothing versatility. This month's fall release of Brides Local Magazine will be featuring a few quotes from yours truly in a piece titled: "REAL GROOMS SPEAK OUT Marriageable men across the country confirm: guys like wedding planning, too!"

2010 became the year of the groom, with new groom sites and blogs serving as the vice to reverse years of stereo types. I appreciate Brides.com jumping on our side and giving a shout out to the grooms that care.

"Benjamin, of Tampa, FL, drew upon his experience as a wedding officiant to determine the direction of his own ceremony. "I want it to be very personal," he says. 3 Rules for Buying the Right Groom Suit or Tux

Buying a new suit or tux can be very tricky, so to help I've listed a few rules for grooms or brides searching for the perfect look for the groom. I've chosen to use a groom who clearly did everything right to help us see these rules in action.

1. Find the Right Fit. If you buy the right suit but it’s in the wrong size, you're just wasting your time and money. My advice is take your complete suit (jacket, suit, shirt, and pants) to a tailor, and try it all on for them. Make sure they know it’s for your wedding. In some cases, taking just a quarter inch off the shirt cuff can make all the difference. I promise you'll look better in a perfect fitting $20 target shirt then a $125 Ralph Lauren one size too big.

2. Blending in While Standing Out. When selecting your groomswear, find something that fits the occasion. Just because you love tan suits, doesn’t mean they’ll work if you're having an evening formal wedding. Your bride is doing so much to make everything at the wedding blend and fit, so make sure you're following along. Once you've selected the right colors and feel to match the wedding find ways to differentiate yourself from everyone else!

3. Be Yourself but Dress the Part. You want to look and feel comfortable in your suit or tux. If you're a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy, then maybe a cummerbund is not for you. You're going to have to dress up, but don't feel forced to dress like someone you're not. If you're uncomfortable in the suit at the store, it won't be any more comfortable in front over everyone at the wedding.

She took our color palette and created an inspiration board that served as an excellent tool throughout the planning process.
