AT LAST, curlBOX IS MINE

2012-07-19T06:10:00.000-07:00

I really feel like singing At Last, by Etta James! I have been trying to get my hands on this item for months now. Finally, I can expect to receive a curlBOX in 5-7 business days. Wait, did I start this story in the middle, YESSSSS!!! Sorry ladies, let me explain. OK< My name is Lynn and I am a product junkie, OK, I said it. I don't want help, I just want my very own curlBOX. and thanks to diligence, patience and quick fingers I will soon have one. I have been purchasing all kinds of hair products that promise to define my curl pattern, moisturize my hair, and do the impossible. I always have high hopes for products and sometimes they deliver and other times, well you get the picture. In my pursuit to find the perfect line of products I stumbled upon curlBOX. This will (hopefully)end my relentless search. See, every month curlBOX will send you a few sought after products to try. This will hopefully save me from overspending on products in my local beauty supply store (I hope) Ladies if you are a product junkie, check out this website and I will let you know what goodies I receive in my August curlBOX!

POP YA FINGAS

2012-07-18T06:19:00.000-07:00

Alyssa, Keesha, and my sister DawnMarie

Keesha and ME!
Anybody recognize my dress? It's from H&M off course! I found it on the sale rack, SCORE!
This dress is super cute on and works well for a girls night out. I must confess, at the end of the night, it took me almost 30 minutes to get this dang dress off! I actually thought about sleeping in it. As usual I purchased a too small dress. I do this often, smh. I actually broke out into a sweat trying to remove this dress. I think I expanded in the summer heat making it almost impossible to get my a*# out of this dress at 2am. I did rip it slightly under the arm while trying to remove it. Have you ladies had a similar experience? OK, just me, ~~really~~ REALLY?

MY NEW BOO

2012-05-15T12:39:00.000-07:00

Kate Spade aka "new boo"
New York
So here is my new boo! It only took me 2 months to decide which bag to get. Here she is. OK, this is the back story regarding the bag. A week before my Birthday. Mr P took me to Nordstrom to look for a bag for my special day. I thought I wanted the Tory Burch nylon and patent tote. However, when, I got to the store I changed my mind. I thought if felt a little, well cheap (poor quality). Then, I kinda considered getting the Longchamp bag for about 2 seconds. Nope again, so to his delight, my indecisive nature won. I ended up leaving the store with nothing, insert sad (indecisive) face here. So, fast forward to last Saturday. Yet another trip through Nordstrom's handbag section, and guess who spotted this lovely? Nope, not me. Mr. P spotted this bag!!! Today, is the first day I carried "her" and I must say I think I love "her, " for now anyway....

PAINT, PARTY FOR ONE

2012-04-30T07:29:00.001-07:00

Just in case you have been wondering what I have been up to! I have been hard at work, painting. It is not my favorite thing to do and I'm not particularly good at it. However, I hate waiting for someone else to do things for me( aheem, Mr. P if your reading this, I am talking about you!) So, any who I think I mentioned that I moved and have decided to do some interior decorating. Since, my new obsession with all things DIY I decided to tackle the laundry room. Frankly, I figured if I messed it up, who would know?

My son/photographer is the one narrating this video. I think he's funny but what do I know, he's my kid!

A few after photos for you, sorry for the poor picture quality. Just in case, the poor picture quality wan't disturbing enough, how about ALL the junk and laundry on the floor??? (YIKES) I have a few more things to do like a clothes pin sunburst mirror, some wall cabinets and last but not least some artwork. Yesss, every laundry room needs some fancy artwork. Stay tuned.....

What Dress Code?

2012-03-22T10:34:00.002-07:00

Well, now you tell me? After 5 or has it been 6 years, now you want to enforce the dress code? I feel like someone just sucked the air out of the room. OK, its not that bad. Let me explain, apparently someone has decided that it is not safe or proper even to wear open toed shoes at work! Really? I have heard some rumblings about enforcing the NO OPEN TOE SHOE POLICY! So, I thought I should at least find a comfortable (and cute) shoe without toe cleavage! My heart aches. ALL, of my summer shoes have at least a peep toe if not full toe exposure! UGH! Well, this has given me an excuse to hunt for shoes. Alas, I found these lovely Mary Jane inspired beauties. I even read the "shoe review" to see if they would be comfy, YUP. The $30 price tag really helped me make my FINAL decision. So, what do you think? Cute enough to accompany casual (summer) work attire??? I ordered them from PiperLime, they are still available in a few colors, check em out!

2012-03-22T09:51:00.001-07:00

My 42nd, Birthday is almost here! As you can see I have already started celebrating. I had a lovely dinner with Mr. P at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Umm, I would have to say the experience was a little under whelming! to say the least. My food, was just OK. I have to be honest with you, for the price it just not worth it. I have had a waaaay better steak, at home. Sorry, guys. I know folks LOVE this place, not me. Anywho, I really digressed huh? Well, my birthday is in a few days and I am really looking forward to gifts, more cake, and yes more gifts!!!! Oh, by the way~ I have had a way better chocolate molten cake from Trader Joe's !!!

I SMELL GOOD, REAL GOOD

2012-02-13T09:49:00.000-08:00

I smell sooooo good! I want to give credit to a few fellow bloggers who reminded me through their blogs, that this perfume still exists. I wore this scent back in the early 90's. Back when the ~~only~~ ONLY way to purchase Carol's Daughter's products was to make the pilgrimage to Brooklyn! Oh, what a great scentastic experience that was. Fast Forward to last week. I was strolling through the blogosphere and at least 2 fellow bloggers where singing the sweet, sweet praises of Carol's Daughter's Ecstasy perfume.

I love, love, love that it comes in this roll on version now! How cool is this purse sized edition? I ran, no really, I ran to Sephora after work and picked up this sweet treat last week. Today, I keep sniffing myself because ladies, I smell just that DAMN good! Sorry, I can't be modest when I smell this delicious! If you have not tried it, I suggest that you do so , REAL SOON! It is Mr. P approved, so I will be buying it in bulk. Unless, I get a gallon for V-Day, hint~hint...

I must admit, I am a long time fan of Fantasy by Brittany Spears. I go through one bottle (small size) per month. No, really. If you squeeze me, Brittany Spears perfume would squirt out! OK, that sounded odd, but you know what I mean. However, move over Britt. Ecstasy has my heart, for NOW!

FAUX OR FUR--OCIOUS

2012-01-28T08:27:00.000-08:00

fur: Thrrifted

I paid less than $20 bucks for this fur jacket. I am no fur expert and I am not sure if this is Real or Faux fur. What do you think?

This label does not offer any clues as to the kind of fur this is! Well, I am still waiting for this unseasonably warm weather to end so I can wear it without melting!

Neutrality and Impartial Prints

2012-01-16T11:10:00.000-08:00

A whole lot of thrifting going on here! The sweater, thrifted. The skirt, thrifted. I paid less than $10 for the sweater and the skirt on two separate thrifting expeditions. The sweater is made by Brooks Brothers, its the softest cardigan ever. The skirt did not have a tag. As you may know, some thrifted items are "tag less." Hmmm, maybe the tag was removed by the thrifting elves or the previous owner.

shooties: Ivanka Trump?
Am I the last person to discover these shooties? I didn't know she designed shoes. Thanks lil Ms. Trump!

J' ADORE VINTAGE

2011-12-29T17:19:00.000-08:00

I love this coat! OK, let me give you the background on this coat. The day after Christmas I did some thrifting with my sister and my super star girlfriend Melanie. These two ladies are incredible thrifters. They find hidden gems every time they cross the threshold of a thrift store.

Ladies, do you dry clean your thrifted finds before you wear them? I have a rule for thrifting. I always leave the items in a bag outside in my garage for several days before bringing them in the house. I dry clean some items and wash others (twice) before wearing them. However, this coat and other furry items I have thrifted pose a problem. These items are generally more expensive to dry clean. I paid $20 for this coat and I don't want to spend the family fortune trying to clean it. Any suggestions? It is now hanging on my sun room porch, just in case it has some weird bugs or germs...

Can you believe this coat came from Sears? Wow? This is the only label on the coat, no care instructions or anything. I am not even sure what type of fur this is?

I WILL TAKE ONE OF EACH, PLEASE!

2011-12-25T07:24:00.000-08:00

I discovered these very lovely bracelets recently. OK, how gorgeous are these bracelets? Could you just see a few of these stacked up on your arm next to your MK watch??? I certainly can. I bet you won't believe how inexpensive these little beauties are? they are all under $100 at Henri Bendel's. If Mr. P is reading this, I'll take one of each for Valentine's Day or my birthday. I'm not very subtle, I want these bracelets!!! What do you think, like~dislike? Already own one? Let me know!

DATE NIGHT~~~~~YOUR FIRED

2011-12-15T06:39:00.000-08:00

Every Friday is date night, yeeeeaaah! We adhere to this pretty strictly. Date night can include holiday shopping, eating, and on this night a Tyler Perry play. Mr. P and I headed downtown Philadelphia and had a great time. I guess you can't tell I was having a great time by this picture, huh? I was giving the valet driver the side eye for promising us if we sent him a text, he would have the car out front of the theatre, NOT. It seems his phone died, well the battery died or something. It was freezing outside. Luckily, for him and his tip I was able to stand in the hotel lobby next door and stay warm. Don't worry, I tipped him anyway!!!!

ONE GUESS

2011-12-12T10:42:00.000-08:00

Lela Rose for Payless $24.99

I will give you one guess, where I found these shoes? OK, the suspense is killing me, PAYLESS! Yes, you heard me right, I said Payless. Am I the last to know about these?? I am usually a shoe snob, but I am ordering both pairs of these shoes. I am saying a silent pair to the shoe fairy that they will not hurt my feet. However, I have paid 3times this amount for a pair of shoes that made me want to weep while walking in them! That's another story. Ladies, if any of you have been brave enough to purchase this shoe, please let me know your experience. I am planning on buying them TODAY!

Sylvia Tcheressi $24.99

These couldn't hurt my feet, could they? They look painless, right? Oh Hell, they are $24.99! I will keep you posted.
