Do you have any idea about it? Well, you heard it but you do not have the proper knowledge about it. So here my article will help you to understand about what proxy sites or proxy servers are all about. It is basically a web page that allows users to surf internet with buffer. These are basically sites or servers. It helps to hide your IP address and provide you information. You can download a page or file very quickly with a proxy server. If you want a good speed while you are downloading any music, movies or any other files then proxy sites are the great option for you. Your system is also safe because proxy server is using another IP.

Now you can ask where to find these. It is very simple procedure. Just search on Google search engine and there you can find lots of proxy sites and servers. Proxy sites always provide the browse server so that will help you remain anonymous online while you are downloading something. Actually there are many sites where you can find some sort of internet limitations. Some websites are banned by them or forbid some types of contents and proxy sites or servers are the best way to bypass all these problems. So a proxy site gives you the comforts, securities and guaranteed privacy. You can just type the web address where you want to go in the proxy bar and it will take you there from its own IP address. It is really a great opportunity to take the benefits of a web proxy.

But there are some problems with anonymous proxies. There are many proxy servers which are slow. If you use Google for searching of proxy then you can have a huge list of proxy servers but most of these are slow and does not effectively. An elite proxy can give you the better result. Elite proxies are different than other free of costs proxies because they are paid items and you have own product right on it. No one else but you can use your own proxy server. Here you can change your IP or hide it and no one can understand anything about it. So it is better to go for the elite proxies rather than going for the anonymous proxy sites.

Free proxy is not good because it makes the way easier for hackers. So you should be more careful when you are putting your identity and other information in a free proxy servers.

So if you are sure that you would use proxy then go for the elite proxy and take the full benefits of it.

I wish you good luck and hope this article has given you some basic knowledge of Proxy, Proxy Sites and Proxy Servers

How Long Has Your System Been Running?

How Long Has Your System Been Running?

Here's how you verify system uptime:

Click Start | Run and type cmd to open a command prompt.
At the prompt, type systeminfo

Scroll down the list of information to the line that says System Up Time.

This will tell you in days, hours, minutes and seconds how long the system has been up.

Note that this command only works in XP Pro, not in XP Home. You can, however, type net statistics workstation at the prompt in Home. The first line will tell you the day and time that the system came online.Enjoy!!!

Lock/Hide Your Folder in Windows XP without Any Software

Sometimes you have some data you want to save from your friends, you dont want to use any Folder lock software. Then in that case what will you do?
Well here is a simple solution. Suppose you have a folder “TEST”, and you want to lock it
Follow the instructions below.:
1. First try it out on an empty folder in case something goes wrong. So first create a folder in drive C , for example name it as “secret-files” without the quotes.
 2. Next, open your command prompt ( Start > Run > type “cmd” in the Run box without the quotes )
3. Within the command prompt, type “attrib +s +h C:\secret-files” ( without the quotes )

4. This command will make your folder completely invisible and it can not be seen even in hidden files and folders. Try search for the folder, I am sure it returns no result. It’s cool right?
5. To make the folder visible again type “attrib -s -h C:\secret-files”
6. And of course you can lock other folder too, by changing the location C:\secret-files to address of your folder.

Insert your name in Taskbar

Hey its a very cool trick u can amaze u r friends and relatives by inserting your name on the bottom right task-bar. Instead of getting your music or movie within a couple of hours, your software predicts it will take 2 to 4 days.

Now, while many of the speed factors involved are out of your control, there is at least one thing you can do at your receiving end to improve this speed. It is called “Port Forwarding”, or “opening your specific TCP ports”. This is how it works.

1) That blue or green network cable coming out of your computer/modem/router is actually a busy highway comprised of 65,536 tiny electronic lanes (yes, over sixty-five thousand little lanes for your electrons). Each lane is called a “port”, and each port is designed to allow only specific types of information through.

Many ports are assigned in a semi-standardized way. Here are some example port assignments:

- HTML pages: port 80
- FTP file transferring: port 21
- World of Warcraft: port 3724
- POP3 email: port 110
- MSN Messenger: port 6901 and ports 6891-6900
- Everquest: port 1024
- Bit Torrents: port 6881

2) Bit torrents, by default, first look for port 6881 to enter/exit your computer. If port 6881 is closed for whatever reason, torrents then go to port 6882, then 6883, and so on, until it eventually tries port 6999 before giving up.

3) Every ISP, and every home router, can optionally block any of these ports with the intention of preventing hackers and controlling the network.

4) If you tell your own personal router and firewall at home to open (aka “forward”) port 6881 and port 6882, then your bit torrents will find their way into your computer that much faster. Sometimes up to 5x faster.

Yes, opening ports does increase the possibility of getting hacked by unwanted bad guys, but there are means to reduce that threat while still getting fast torrent download speeds.

Boot Your PC in STYLE

Note : I recommend making a copy of you "Boot.ini" first, just in case you do something wrong and your window is not booting, restart and when your pc is in post(the black screen) press F8 and boot in safe mode, and replace the "Boot.ini" with your backup of "Boot.ini" and it should get back to its former state.

All of us are accustomed to seeing the Windows XP logo at system startup
but how about getting a custom message at first before the logo appears?

Heres how to do it. There's no reason to upgrade for this feature, especially since some programmers created a small utility for XP that gives you the same functionality.

You'll notice the new icon looks very similar to the ones in Vista, but the more interesting addition is the new bar under the icon that gives you a tiny graph of the current drive space.

The graph will show up on most of the icon sizes other than the details view.

When your drive is running low on space the graph will turn red to indicate that you should probably stop downloading so much.

You can see in task manager that it really doesn't use all that much memory.

Download Drvicon from Sourceforge.net
http://drvicon.sourceforge.net/

Increase your browsing speeds

You really don’t need to tweak your browser in case you are using Firefox because it is a browser which has been specially designed for optimized and fast browsing but if you can make it even a little more fast that would certainly be a treat for you. Likewise there is a trick to make Internet Explorer 6 fast too. Browsers are designed to work with fast connections but with this trick even dial-up users can experience fast and smooth browsing.
Optimize Firefox and IE Browsing Speed
I shall be teaching you two tricks which work separately on Firefox and Internet Explorer. It doesn’t require you to be some expert rather all you have to do is change some registry values and you are done. I have also included a video tutorial for those who want to see it step by step visually. This is perhaps one of the oldest tricks to optimize Firefox and IE but it still works great.
Trick to Increase Firefox Speed
1. Open firefox and in the address bar write about:config and press enter
2. Double click network.http.pipelining and set it to True
3. Double click network.http.pipelining.maxrequests and set value to 10 from 4
4. Right click and create a new string nglayout.initialpaint. delay and set its value to 0
You are done. Enjoy lightning fast Firefox browsing and now for IE.
Trick to Increase Internet Explorer Speed
1. Go to Start –> Run and type regedit
2. Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER –> Software –> Microsoft –> Windows –> Current Version –> Internet Settings
3. Increase the values (DECIMAL) from default to a higher value e.g. 10

Cellphone Tips and Tricks

<span style="font-family: verdana; Results may vary by types of materials you use. Works on TVs or monitors.

Materials

These are the things you will need to make your 100" projection TV!

Magnifying glass- Please note if it has a bifocal lens it will not work!!

Sturdy cardboard (or fiberboard).

Duct tape

Black paint or paper

3 pencils

Small mirror (about 3"x3")(optional, you don't really need this).

Four small washers that fit snug around the pencils.

Step1> Measure your screen (vertical and horizontal).

Step2> Cut the side pieces (A and B) for your projector. (Using your measurements from step 1.) Again use 35" for length. This allows the room to adjust the focus. Be sure to cut as straight as possible!

Step 3> Cut the top and bottom pieces (C and D.) (Using your measurements from step 1). Again use 35" for length.

Step 4> Cut out your slider (E). This piece will be the one that slides in and out of your projector! This allows for the focussing. Use your screen measurement from step 2 & 3. Then, find the center, mark it with your pencil!

Step 5> Remove the glass lens form your magnifying glass. Set it exactly on the cent or your slider. Trace around it, and cut our the circle very carefully. Lens must fit snugly in the hole!

Step 6> Now you have all your pieces cut. Now you either paint all pieces black, or cover with black construction paper. If painting, use more than one coat!

Step 7> Now start to assemble your projector. Place pieces A,B,C, & D together and tape them together using your duct tape. Tape both sides so you don't get any light showing through.

Step 8> Now connect the two side together using duct tape. Do this carefully, and now you should have a rectangular box!

Step >9 Insert your glass lens into the hole you cut inb the slider. THIS MUST FIT TIGHTLY. It must be flush with slider. This is a little tricky, but is not impossible!

Step >10 Take to unsharpened pencils and poke them through your slider (E) about one inch from the sides, not the top and bottom. Then put a washer on each end if the pencils. Use some tape if necessary to ensure pencils do not slide in and out! Only push a LITTLE of the pencil through, just enough to secure them. The pencils allow you to push pull the slider in and out to adjust your focus. If pencils interfere with your picture, pull them out after you have focussed your projector and put tape over the holes!

Step 11> Place your slider about halfway in the box. Your slider must fit squarely inside the box!

Step 12> Turn your TV or monitor upside down and carefully attach your projector. Use tape or any other way you desire! Should fit tightly and no light should shine through the box.

Step 13> Turn your TV or monitor on and adjust your slider to focus your picture. This may take a while. The further away from the wall, the larger your picture will be! The darker the room, the clearer your picture will be.

Step 14> If your image is reversed, place a mirror at a 45 degree angle in front of the lens. You may have to turn the screen in its back. Same principle used in school overhead projectors.

Step 15> After the projector is setup and focussed, cut the remaining front pieces away. This allows for better viewing.

Step 16> Have a fun with your new TV or Monitor!!!!

__________________________________________________ ________________

Tips:

1.Make sure your lens's SMOOTH side is facing towards the SCREEN, the BUMPY side should be facing the TV!

2.If the edges or whole picture looks a little soft, and you are using the fresnel lens, you can fix this fairly easily. Put a piece of paper on top of your fesnel lens (on the bumpy side) and trace the biggest whole circle. Once you have done that cut out the circle so you should have a peice of paper with a big hole in the middle. Now trace that onto a black peice of cardboard the same size as your fresnel lens and cut out the circle on that. Now just line up the hole in cardboard with the biggest circle on the fresnel lens, and tape it on. Put it back into your projector and try it out. This will darken the picture a little bit but make it a lot sharper. This works because the $5 staples fresnel lenses are imperfect, so the outside edges of the lens kind of throw the light in weird places defracting the picture. So by utting out the stray light it will sharpen it. I read on another site after i did this, to make a square hole and to experiment with different sizes. I haven't tried it yet, but i'll post here how it works.

__________________________________________________ _______________

1. Process the light spectrum: Use a fresnel lens

2. Enhance the brightness level: Turn the brightness level all the way up on your TV (works better with old tvs), make the room as dark as possible, make sure the box is completely black and sealed.

3. Focus the image: See 'slider card' in the plans

4. Make it crisper: Turn Sharpness on tv to sharpest setting, use a very dark room, and USE A PROFESSIONAL SCREEN.

5. More colorful: Turn color level up high normal level

6. Make it brighter: Once again, the fresnel lens, black box, dark room.

For pic tutorial:

Code:

http://www.gookalian.com/projector/gallery.html

and if you can build good one, maybe you can get result as this(same concept)

Code:

http://ultimatecinema.com/

Uninstalling Windows from Command Prompt

One option included in Windows XP is the ability to uninstall XP if you performed an upgrade from Windows 98, 98SE, or Windows Me. The standard method of removing XP is achieved by booting into XP normally and uses the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel. If you are unable to start XP normally, the second option is to load XP in Safe Mode then use the same tool. If you are unable to boot normally or boot into Safe Mode, XP can be removed by uninstalling from a Command Prompt. The procedure is as follows:

Important Note: This procedure is available only if a successful image of the previous operating system was created during the XP upgrade.

Start the computer to Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

At the command prompt, type cd\, and then press ENTER.

Type cd\windows\system32, and then press ENTER.

Type osuninst.exe, and then press ENTER.

On screen instructions will guide you through the uninstall process to revert to the previous operating system.

This procedure can only be performed by users logged on as Administrator or a user with administrative rights.

Every time give a new Email Id to Your Friends

Tip:Lock Computer

Use Windows key plus L to temporarily lock your Computer when stepping away from it - Use your Windows password to unlock.

Tip:PC deep sleep with Vista

Vista may do a better job at conserving energy when you set your PC to hibernate.

In Windows XP, when you set your PC to hibernate, some applications and hardware devices could override the hibernation command and continue to run (e.g virus scan or DVD burners). However, in Windows Vista, your PC will no longer allow applications and hardware to override your hibernate and "stay up late." They will be warned when the computer is about to catch some zzzs, and will have a second to save their progress. So, when you tell a Vista PC to go to bed, it actually listens.

Tip:Rename your digital photos automatically in Windows XP

Unless you really have a lot of time on your hands, I doubt you want to go through the massive folder that contains your European vacation photos and rename them Europe_1.jpg, Europe_2.jpg, and so on down the line. If you're running Windows XP on your computer, you don't have to do this. Simply apply this hack to quickly apply a meaningful label to every picture in the folder.

* First, open the folder and select View > Thumbnails.
* Click the last picture in the folder you want to rename, hold down the Shift key, and click the first picture; this will select them all.
* Right-click the first photo, and select Rename from the drop-down menu.

Windows XP will highlight the filename for the first photo, enabling you to give it a descriptive name. After you type in the name, click the white space outside of the photo and watch as Windows applies the name with a sequential number to each picture in the folder.

Tip:Make it easy to get to Windows Explorer

It's important to have quick access to Windows Explorer so you can easily look around your hard drive(s) for the things you need. But on a Windows XP machine, Windows Explorer is hidden in the 'Accessories' menu -- that's not very handy. Give yourself quick access to it by doing this:

1) Click the Start menu

2) Click on 'Programs'

3) Go to 'Accessories' and highlight 'Windows Explorer'

4) Right-click on 'Windows Explorer' and choose 'Send to...' -- then select 'Desktop'

Now you'll have a shortcut on your Desktop that makes it easy to access Windows Explorer any time you need it -- which is generally every day!

Fast Shutdown and/or Restart From Quick Launch Buttons

This tip will enable you to create buttons in your quick launch toolbar to quickly and easily shut down and/or restart your computer.

Right click on your desktop, scroll to new..... shortcut
In the location line, for shutdown type; shutdown -s -t 0 ie: shutdown(space)-s(space)-t(space)number zero
Name the shortcut "Shut Down PC" or whatever u want
The new shortcut is now sitting on your desktop, right click on it and go to properties, then click on "change icon". Most buttons that have an animation when rolled over and an animation when you roll out are done with some form of this concept that I intend to share with you.

If you understand basic Flash concepts and just a smidgen of Actionscript, you will catch on in no time.

Here is How

Create a new Flash document.

Open up the document properties by pressing ctrl+j (cmd+j on Mac) and change the stage size to 100x100. Change the Frame Rate to 30.

Rename layer 1 on the main timeline to complexButton. The main timeline should now look like this:

Create a new movieclip by pressing ctrl+F8 (cmd+F8 on Mac). Name it mc_complex.

Double click mc_complex in the library to edit the symbol. Select the Oval Tool(o) and make a 30x30 circle on the stage. In the properties panel set the x and y values for that circle to 0.

Double click the circle to select the Fill and Stroke. Press F8 to convert it to a symbol so we can tween it. Make it into a graphic symbol and name it gr_circle

Still editing the mc_complex movieclip select frame 15 and press F6. This inserts a keyframe. Resize the circle a little bigger than what is there. I went with 40x40.

Right click on any frame between the two keyframes on the timeline and select Create Motion Tween.

Create a new layer and call it actions. Insert a blank keyframe(F7) on frame 15. The timeline for mc_complex should now look like this
