We're often asked, "How do you pick The Best products for Best4Men.com. It's not an easy questions to answer but here is one of the biggest criteria by which we judge all products and the companies that make them:

We carry products from companies who answer our questions.

In other words, we can talk to the people who make the decisions as to what ingredients are in what product and eventually on our bodies.

We are always trying to find the next best thing (NBT) here at Best4Men. Which means all of the guys tend to have a lot of products on our shelves. Yeah, usually more than our wives / girlfriends. Recently we tried the Old Spice Bodywashes.

We picked out 2 of the 18 different styles they have. So there is our first issue. 18 different bodywashes? 18? How about you make 4, and make them all REALLY good. Ok, so we picked two.

Swagger & showtime. We've only used one so far, but here is our preliminary review: It takes 2 to get the job done.

We started Best4Men.net as a way to keep our customers up to date with what's going on at Best4Men.com. Then we found some cool articles and wanted to share them with our readers. Before we knew it, we had a site that was no longer dedicated to Best4Men.com and grooming.

Whoops.

So we've created MisterDude.com
Think of it as what Playboy recently tried to do, but we really are safe for work.

Did you know you can run open source firmware on your Canon Camera? We've been meaning to try it for a while, maybe even post it as a video. But now it seems you can use a Nintendo DS to control your DSLR.
Not interested in modifying your camera software, maybe you should take a hint from LifeHacker and just learn how to use any digital camera better.

People Power Enables Whole House Monitoring

Our house is like any other vertical structure, climatilogically challenged based on height. In other words in the summer it is hot up stairs and cold down stairs. Wouldn't it be nice to have a thermostat that just ran the fan when an imbalance occured rather than trying to cool a floor that is in the middle? We've been monitoring projects like Linux HA and MisterHouse for sometime, but haven't jumped in. Now with a new company making wireless sensors geared towards home grid and environment control, we might be able to jumpstart our project without recabling the house. Might be a while before it goes from the extreme hacker level to our tinkering level.

We have plenty of napkins that turned into business plans on our walls (and some even made the light of day!) Here is a tool we picked up for making Mind Maps. An alert Mouse Print* reader noticed that his favorite “king size” Snickers bar was now nearly half an ounce lighter. Then you can have something that sprays the air on a regular basis, but those are just air fresheners on a timer really.
