You tell on yourself by the friends you seek,

All but the last two lines of this poem appeared in the Tribune-Star, in Tere Haute, Indiana (which the newspaper said was sent in by Bert Boswell) in the early 1970s.

It's always a good reminder to me that "You get only one chance to make a good first impression."
