For those who don't know, the Panasonic G1 is the first (of hopefully many) camera that adheres to the new micro 4/3 format. What is so exciting about it? This my first DSLR. I am very happy with the purchase. It is very easy to use and takes great photos. I will occasionally still get a blurry or under/overexposed photo which I assume is somehow my fault but overall the auto setting just seems to work. I do get alot more pictures of my 3 year old's smiling face because it focuses so much faster than my old camera. I am just starting to use some of the more advanced features but I used some of the filters only a day or two after first trying it. They were very easy to use, actually, the whole camera is very intuitive.

OK so i'm a high school student who was interested in photography ever since i took my first photography class. I loved all the things relating or about photography. I always used to use some point and shoot camera but not anymore. I BOUGHT THIS CAMERA and couldn't be more happier. This is a superb DSLR for the money. It has FANTASTIC & CRISP IMAGES. I can't afford a 1,000+ DSLR so i bought this one. This still is a great DSLR. I currently own the kit lens but they still gives some of the best quality photos i ever took. i posted some of my sample images. One thing that I don't like about this DSLR is the 10 minute limit in movie recording but oh well. after all it is a DSLRR and not a camcorder. I plan to get more lenses and may post some test pics later on. Bottom line, BUY THIS DSLR, and never a canon.

Light, compact, quiet, wrap-around rubber grip on entire right side of camera, review photos right in the electronic viewfinder, or on the LCD. Shoots 10 fps, great in low light, gorgeous colors, articulated screen. I had originally bought the A500, but returned it because of a tiny scratch. Meanwhile, the A55 came out for pre-orders. God, I am so glad that I waited another month for the A55 to come out. It just feels right in your hands. The speed and smooth response are really nice. I think I've made the best possible choice for a camera costing under $1000 dollars. Full HD video, stereo recording, sweep panorama shots, 3-D sweep panorama. Couldn't be happier with the camera.
