POPPING THE QUESTION

2010-01-28T15:02:00.000-08:00

So you want to pop the question and you're thinking about doing it on Valentine's Day.

You obviously want to make it special and memorable! Is Valentine's Day the right day for you to pop the question? and how are you going to go about doing it? I'm sure all of these questions are racing through your mind at lightning speed. Since you're planning on getting married I expect you know that you will cherish these memories for the rest of your life! When you pop the question it should be romantic, surprising, unique and from your heart! Whether you're thinking of sky writing a message or proposing at dinner on Valentine's Day you need to have a solid proposal, don't go into a proposal blind! These are memories that you will want to be perfect!! Make your proposal the most romantic story, you will tell your grandchildren and they will tell their grandchildren!

I personally think it's important to do something unique for your proposal, unless it's spur of the moment, but I don't recommend that as it might not go as well as you were hoping! So have a plan. Hide the ring in a fortune cookie, a cake, champagne glass or other food! Or have your dog, cat or other pet give it to her. There are so many classic proposal ideas!

Here is one of my own very sweet and unique proposal ideas. Get a box that has a lid, decorate your box Valentine's Day Style. Then cut a hole in the side. Put a white glove on your and and stick it in the hole with the engagement ring in your hand and hold the box with your other hand. Give her the present, but tell her to open the lid. Then say it... "Will you marry me?" When she says "YES" you can slip the ring on her finger right through the box!

If you're having problems coming up with a solid proposal than I highly suggest you check out these Marriage Proposal Ideas for some help.

PERFUME & COLOGNE

2010-01-24T02:50:00.000-08:00

I want to smell nice, and I bet you do too! Who doesn't want to smell nice? I, like most of you, don't wear perfume everyday. So I could understand how someone would have a hard time picking out a scent for me! However, there are a few things you can do to get around asking what kind of perfume or cologne your Valentine likes! First, check out candles and spray deodorizers in their home, what kind of scents do they like, floral, fruity, etc? Then check out if they have any perfume or cologne already! That way you won't get caught buying them something they already have! Also you can take those names to the perfume shop and get something similar!

Finally and most importantly pick out a scent that YOU like!! You're the one who has to smell them when they wear it, so make the scent attractive to you! Check out Perfumania.com!

Find the right Mens Cologne in the Perfume Emporium gift center and save up to 70%.

Save up to 90% on 1000's of designer fragrance brands at Perfumania.com.

Take it a step further (I know, I LOVE taking it a step further, it really shows how much you love your Valentine!)... Why not design your own perfume? You can pick and choose each scent that goes into it! Personalizing it just for your sweetheart!

You can also book a create your own scent with a professional perfume among many other Amazing Gift Ideas from Great American Days

COLLECTION OF LOVE MOVIES

2010-01-24T02:49:00.000-08:00

I know not many guys like the average 'chick flick' but there are some really great love stories out there that can easily be enjoyed by both women and men! Why not put together a collection of great love stories, make her dinner and watch romantic movies! She will be forever grateful for your sacrifice! And I think you will be surprised by how much you enjoy these movies!

For the funny girls out there, put together a collection of the best action movies and make a night of it! He will be so happy that he is bound to repay you later in the bedroom!

A FLAT SCREEN TV

2010-01-22T12:23:00.000-08:00

This is a major present, but it will earn you some serious brownie points!! This is actually what I'm planning on getting my boyfriend this year for Valentine's Day. We have a 52 inch TV in the living room and most of the time it works great for both of use because we like to watch the same movies and TV shows. However when there is a Hockey or Football game or a 'chick flick' on, one of us is banished to the bedroom where there is only an old TV without cable! Bummer! so I am going for a smaller HDTV, probably something around a 32 inch TV to put in our bedroom. I have found some great deals at great prices! You don't have to empty your savings account and you can still get a well-known name brand, great quality, long lasting TV!

CHOCOLATE & CANDY

2010-01-21T01:45:00.000-08:00

I love chocolate, who doesn't? But aren't you tired of the same old pot of gold box of chocolates? It doesn't show much creativity or love for that matter! But change that cardboard box with it's cardboard chocolate into handmade truffles...now there's something sweet! Not only does this show creativity in finding the chocolatier and choosing the right truffles (yes, there are choices!!), it also shows that you care and love your Valentine enough to go through the trouble of putting this together! zChocolat.com has a great selection of truffles and Valentine's Day Chocolates!

DIAMONDS & JEWELRY

2010-01-21T01:01:00.000-08:00

Diamonds are a girl's best friend! That is not going to change anytime soon! But take note, when getting jewelry for your sweetheart. The simpler the better in my book. Silver or platinum chain is always best, choice people can pull off gold, it's easy to tell, just look at their regular jewelry, if it's mostly silver than go with silver! Also, don't go too big! Unless you're getting engaged most women prefer to be understated, but still beautiful! A little diamond on a silver chain is perfect! Or even go a step farther and get a charm bracelet with her name on it and little charms of things that she likes! Also perfect for Valentine's Day is a silver heart necklace! But remember to choose within her tastes! If she likes diamonds go with diamonds and if she is simple and conservative go with a simple silver heart! If the relationship is relatively new I would go with this charm bracelet. It says that you care and you want them to know that you like them a lot and maybe even love them! But it doesn't scream commitment and she can wear it pretty much anywhere! You can even add personalized charms that suit her! Bonus this one is Swarovski! And even if you don't know what that is I bet your girlfriend does!

Give your Valentine a shopping spree with an Online Gift Certificate from Swarovski!

Save Up to 85% off our Brand Name Jewelry and Watches at Buyz.com!

Another great idea is the birthstone, everyone has a birthstone and it's really easy to find out what yours is, there is a gem for every month. Mine is April which is a crystal! What's yours? You can choose your sweetheart's birthstone and make it into a necklace for her. Check out JeGem, they have a great selection of Valentine's Day jewelry, hearts, rubies and diamond, but they also have a lot of birthstone jewelry!

Choose your own gorgeous birthstone jewelry at JeGem.com

I LOVE these necklaces! Within 5 minutes of finding them I showed them to my boyfriend, wink wink nudge nudge! They are from Swarovski! Perfect diamond hearts for Valentine's Day! Look close they say love on the right side, how sweet! They come in pink, red, gold and crystal! This gift is also perfect for any couple, budding romances to marriages! It all depends on her taste! I've been dating my boyfriend for almost 3 years now and this would be a lovely gift! Especially if it was given to me at dinner or over champagne in the bedroom? Any other ideas?

FLOWERS

2010-01-21T00:43:00.000-08:00

There is nothing quite like getting flowers, you just can't help smiling! Flowers can brighten up the worst of days! Especially the right flowers... because weird colored plain old daisy-like flowers just won't do anymore!! Also news flash, but roses are so outdated! Maybe you can get away with roses on Valentine's Day, but be creative! Do pink, white and red roses or all different kinds of roses (instead of 24 red roses).

When it comes to flowers, no matter what occasion, I ALWAYS prefer exotic or hand picked (wild flowers). Try hydrangeas for exotic flowers, or go with something you've never heard of before but find beautiful and interesting.

With wildflowers I love messy bouquets with little white, lavender, pink and baby blue flowers. Or even Sunflowers, they are so happy, how could you not smile around sunflowers?

Now-a-days eco-friendly items are the main thing that people are looking for! I found a website that is dedicated to organic flowers! They have an amazing selection of valentine's day bouquets at great prices!!

Another idea is the potted plant... I love this one too because it lasts sooo much longer than the bouquet! You get to watch it grow and care for it... it's a much greater bond than those 24 roses mentioned earlier! Plus you can make your own pot to plant it in! Just buy a plain pot and paint it with whatever design you like! Or find yourself a beautiful designer pot! As far as potted goes Orchids are BY FAR the best choice!

FlowersFast.com- Roses, Lillies, Sunflowers, Plants and Gourmet Gifts! FTD Top 100 Florist! Click here!

THE iPOD

2010-01-21T00:24:00.000-08:00

You can't really go wrong with an ipod. Plus, you can't really make a mix tape anymore, and who has a CD player? Really? Your grandmother, maybe? So add all of the music your Valentine loves, and even make a special playlist (this generation's mix tapes) with love songs and you can even name that playlist 'mix tape from my heart'. Remember, don't just go buying up random love songs! Think of your relationship, concerts you've seen, TV show themes you both watch, or movie soundtrack/songs... start the playlist with your song... don't have one? make one for you! and play it on Valentine's Day this year! Here's another idea, when you're grabbing the ipod, why not grab an ipod dock too? You can get ones that are alarm clock/radio/ipod players, you can even get a dock that recharges your ipod at the same time! I have my alarm clock & ipod working together so I can wake up to beautiful music instead of annoying beeping in the morning!

Check this out... at Gadget Universe they have a little speaker that produces big sound! It's called a PodXtreme It's collapsible and plugs into your computer via usb to recharge! I am totally buying one of these, for the beach, for a party and especially to play the new love song playlist on Valentine's Day evening!

LINGERIE & SEXY COSTUMES

2010-01-20T23:37:00.000-08:00

I know Victoria's secret! It's important to be sexy in your nickers!

Lingerie is a bonus gift because it really benefits both of you! Pick something you like! I would prefer reds, pinks, blacks and whites! They keep with the Valentine's Day spirit!

Check out Henry & June Lingerie for some beautiful lingerie and great deals for this Valentine's Day!

Pick out something special, and remember to let your sweetheart know how sexy they look. Remember, everyday lingerie is not unique! She knows where to buy that for herself (or himself)... But getting her a baby doll or a lace see-through dress tells her that you think she would look sexy dressed in sexy lingerie! It also show your sexy sweetheart that you fantasize about them!

Now... speaking of dressed up, why not try out a fantasy by getting the costumes and re-enacting your wildest dreams! Valentine's Day is the perfect excuse to bring some of your dreams to life! You can find anything from a Sexy Nurse to a Sexy Pirate! To find sexy costumes for both women and men you should check out BuyCostumes.com! Take it a step farther and decorate your living room or bedroom to go with your fantasy! You can find everything you need to theme decorate at Shindigz.com. Do I hear jungle theme anyone?
