We’re launching a brand new music video platform this spring, featuring original content that covers a range of indie-oriented music. Our programming will include coverage of live concerts, artist interviews, special behind-the-scenes series and beyond.

The network’s website will be the platform to experience this content, and we’re looking for a web editor to oversee the day-to-day upkeep of the site, including written editorial, graphic elements, and all pieces of content publishing.

The Role:

1. Written Editorial: The web editor will be responsible for writing all of the website copy, including descriptions of shows, episodes, and featured artists. This will also include updates and edits to the site blogs. The ideal candidate has a firm understanding of editorial voice, along with grammar, spelling and the ability to maintain our brand’s “tone” of of being indie music curators consistently throughout all of the web copy.

2. Graphic Design: The web editor will be responsible for graphic elements within the site’s content. This will include the design & customization of things like page backgrounds, artist photos, and featured images. This is not a graphic designer role per se, though the web editor should be comfortable with photo editing and image customization using Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

3. Web Publishing: The web editor will be responsible for maintaining consistency throughout the site. This includes establishing standardized formatting for copy, titling and tagging, as well as consistent use of SEO & meta tag techniques for all content. The web editor will be responsible for loading all content into the CMS. The ideal candidate has an understanding of web publishing platforms, formatting and use of tagging for SEO purposes.

The web editor would also have an overall responsibility to continuously monitor the site’s functionality, to be sure that we are maximizing the user experience in all areas.

Our company is a start-up environment, made up of young & hungry creative minds with backgrounds in music, film and technology. Though we have a casual company culture, we are dedicated and driven, with a philosophy that you can only play hard if you work harder.

The Ideal Candidate:
If you’ve been publishing your own blog consistently, you might be a great fit. We’re looking for someone who understands all of the above, but also has a passion for indie music.

Your job will be to contact the bloggers and offer them your guest post, together with 2 SEO links in content or in your Profile to two of my blog pages. Or, if your list of blogs meet the above requirements you can submit guest post in the back end.

Payment is due for each published guest post. You will get paid for every 5 or 10 guest posts you make. Ideally you should do at least 10 guest posts per month in blogs that satisfy the above "blog quality" criteria. More than 10 will be ideal but quality is far more important than quontity.
