If you are wondering why the regular PHP forms does not respond in Yahoo Smallbusiness server, we have another set of PHP codes to resolve all issues in Yahoo Small Business server.

First let us create an html file called contact.html in dreamweaver, with 4 fields ie: Name, Email, Phone & Message as shown below:

click on the form tag at the bottom of the contacts.html and link it to contacts-thanks.php and to be opened in a new window as shown below:

At this point you may not have a contacts-thanks.php with you, but remember to do this when you make your contacts-thanks.php

Now open another php document in Dreamweaver and copy the below codes:

Thankyou! We will get back to you soon.
<body>
<?php
/* Set e-mail recipient */
$myemail  = “clement@bestwebdesignz.com”;

/* Check all form inputs using check_input function */
$name = check_input($_POST['name']);
$email  = check_input($_POST['email'], “Write a subject”);
$phone    = check_input($_POST['phone']);
$msg  = check_input($_POST['msg']);

/* If e-mail is not valid show error message */
/*if (!preg_match(“/([\w\-]+\@[\w\-]+\.[\w\-]+)/”, $email))
{
show_error(“E-mail address not valid”);
}*/

/* If URL is not valid set $website to empty */
if (!preg_match(“/^(https?:\/\/+[\w\-]+\.[\w\-]+)/i”, $website))
{
$website = ”;
}

/* Let’s prepare the message for the e-mail */
$message = “Hello! Clement – Bestwebdesignz.

Your contact form has been submitted by:

Name: $name
E-mail: $email
Phone: $phone
Message: $msg

End of message
“;

/* Send the message using mail() function */
mail($myemail, $name, $message);

/* Functions we used */
function check_input($data, $problem=”)
{
$data = trim($data);
$data = stripslashes($data);
$data = htmlspecialchars($data);
if ($problem && strlen($data) == 0)
{
show_error($problem);
}
return $data;
}

function show_error($myError)
{
?>
<html>
<body>

<b>Please correct the following error:</b><br />
<?php echo $myError; ?>

</body>
</html>
<?php
exit();
}
?>

</body>

Put in the thankyou message on top of the <body> tag or just below the <head> tag, as you can see in the above code, where it says “Thankyou! We will get back to you soon.”

Change the email id in the above code where it says “clement@bestwebdesignz.com” with your email id.

Now save this code in your contacts-thanks.php

Important Note: Make sure the fields in the contact form ie: TextField are the same defined in your contacts-thanks.php, for example the first field in the contact form which reads Name: is defined as “name” in the TextField, similarly the “name” is pulled up in the contact-thanks.php codes as in line 7th and 21st lines as evident above.

Also make sure that the contact form in your contacts.html is tagged with your contacts-thanks.php in the action section and opens in a new window, as explained above in point 2.

Upload both your files ie: contacts.html and contacts-thanks.php to the root directory of your Yahoo small business server using FileZilla.

Once the two files above are uploaded you can go to your browser and check your site, in this case, it will be http://bestwebdesignz.com/contacts.html

Fill in the contact form and click on the submit button.

Now check your mails as defined in your php codes, you can wait for a couple of minutes to see it coming, or check your spam folders etc.,

That’s it, you now know how to use yur contact PHP forms in Yahoo Small Business Server.

If you have a contact form and wondering how to redirect the contact form to be redirected to your mail id, you can follow the below steps to send all your contact form details to your mail id.

Fist let us create a php folder called thankyou.php or you can do this later too, you can open dreamweaver and within the <body> tag of your code copy and paste the below php codes.

<?php
echo $name.”.  We will get back to you soon.”;
$name=$_REQUEST['name'] ;
$email=$_REQUEST['e-mail'];
$phone=$_REQUEST['phone'];
$msg=$_REQUEST['message'];

$Message = ” Form Details \n\n”;
$Message .= ” Name : $name \n”;
$Message .= ” E-mail : $email \n”;
$Message .= ” Phone : $phone \n”;
$Message .= ” Message : $msg \n”;

mail(“clement@bestwebdesignz.com”, “Website Visitors”, $Message , “From: $email\n”);
?>

You can change the mail id where it says, “clement@bestwebdesignz.com” to your mail id, now you can save the file in dreamweaver as thankyou.php

With the above step being completed, you have a file called thankyou.php.

2. While you open your contact.html page, you will see in the design part, the form which has the fields above:

while you click on each field inside, and check the code, you should have the same name as in the form, for example, when you click inside the Name: box of your contact form in your contact.html, the TextField must say “name” as described in your thankyou.php form, also check for all the 4 field names here.

After you do this, you must tag your form to your thankyou.php file and how to do this, you can see the below image and explaination:

click on the <form#form6> at the footer of your dreamweaver and in the action part where I have circled in red you must click on the yellow folder besides that and tag your form with the thankyou.php and also select the target as _blank, now save your files and upload them to your server.

Go to the contact page in your browser ie: http://bestwebdesignz.com/contact.html and put in your name, email, phone and message there and submit the form, you should receive the details filled in the contact form to your mail id as mentioned in the php code.

If you have contact forms or any other forms in php and wondering if your hosting supports PHP, you can follow the below steps to know if your hosting supports PHP.

1. Open dreamweaver and go to the code page and copy and past the below php codes within the <body> tag as shown below.

<body>

<?php
mail(‘clement@bestwebdesignz.com’,'Test mail’,'The mail function is working!’);
echo ‘Mail sent!’;
?>

</body>

2. Put in your mail id where it says ‘clement@bestwebdesignz.com’ in the code above.

3. Save the file as mailtest.php and upload it to your server using your FTP.

4. Go to your URL or domain name, in this case http://bestwebdesignz.com/ and add your php file name along with it, ie: http://bestwebdesignz.com/mailtest.php/ (since I have uploaded mailtest.php in the root directory ie: public_html folder.

5. Now check your mail and see if you received your mail, you can wait for a while too, check your spam folders too.

If you have received the mail which says “The mail function is working” then you know that your hosting supports PHP, if not your hosting does not support PHP.

That’s it, you now know how to know if your hosting supports PHP.

How to edit or change your footer name in Joomla

If you are struggling trying to change your company name or copy rights etc., here are some tips.

Editing or changing your company name at the footer is not done usually through your Joomla backend, look for a footer.php file or a index.php file found in your themes folder of your templates.

It is usually found in one of the above, if the footer.php is not available, it should be available in your index.php, you will have to open it by using an html editor like dreamweaver or a notepad, then locate the footer and then change the name at the footer and save it.

Now using the FTP FileZilla, go to your template folder found under the public_html directory, locate your themes folder and then upload your index.php or footer.php.

That’s it, you now know how to edit or change your footer name in Joomla.

If you have a Joomla template and wondering how to install and set it up, here are some tips.

As mentioned in my earlier tutorial, you can install Joomla by simply downloading it, its free, and then by copying all the files in the public_html folder using the filezilla FTP

Your Joomla comes with a theme folder which contains all other files and folders,

Using your FTP FileZilla, you must go to your template folder found under the public_html folder as shown below:

Copy the themes folder from your computer and upload it to the templates folder found under the public_html folder as shown below:

Login to your Joomla administrator panel using your username and password, click on the Template Manager found under the Extensions tab and check on the themes check box as shown below, your template will be enabled and using your url you will be able to see your new template:

Don’t forget to click on the Default button found on the top right corner of your screen.
That’s it, you now know how to install a template in Joomla.

<!--
                    google_ad_client = "pub-7099335855422733";

                    google_ad_height = 280;
