If there was any disappointment in not being able to work with Ranbir Kapoor in Ayan Mukerjee's film, Katrina sure knows how to get over it and how. The actress will not only be sharing screen space with Shah Rukh in Yash Chopra's next, but will start designing her own clothes too!

Yes, Katrina Kaif will soon be seen designing her own clothes for her upcoming films. She's already half-way there having gone clothes and accessories shopping with designer Rocky S for her rock-chick look in Yashraj's Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

Inspired by the immense response she received for her bohemian rock-star look, the actress approached Yash and Aditya Chopra about designing her own clothes in Yash Chopra's next directorial venture.

Hence, Katrina is all set to become Bollywood's first actress cum fashion designer.

Katrina says, "I was always interested in fabric, clothes and designing. Maybe I would have been a designer by profession, if I didn't start acting. For the rock-chick look in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, is not the first time I went shopping for my own clothes and accessories.

I dress minimal and unfussy. So deciding my own clothes for my characters is not a big deal."

For Yash Chopra's film, Katrina will dress herself far more elegantly and sensuously, her looks in recent films like Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara and the forthcoming Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Katrina will dress up in true Yashraj style, meaning very elegant, sophisticated and graceful. The thought of dressing herself in desi clothes has Katrina extremely excited.

The look and feel of a film, and the need to protect it from leaking into the media is growing out of proportions these days. While Karan Johar took to the trend with a vengeance for his film Agneepath, Ekta Kapoor too followed suit with Dirty Picture. And now, just months away from it’s big release, Shah Rukh Khan is going out of his way to guard Arjun Rampal’s avatar as the bare-bodied villain in his forthcoming dream film RA.One.

According to a source, “Only a couple of people are doing the post production of the film. Everyone including the editors, the poster designers, the still photographers have signed a non-disclosure agreement with SRK so that they don’t talk about Arjun anywhere.”

“They are not being allowed to carry mobile phones during the post production. When Ra.One was being shot, the production team had asked all the crew members to leave their mobile phones out of the sets so that no one could manage to get a grab of Arjun’s look,” added the source.

Arjun Rampal, who had apparently become leaner for the film has a more strong and muscular physique in the film. And unlike his own six-pack avatar in Om Shanti Om, Shah Rukh seems to be extremely guarded about Arjun’s leaner abs.

This however, is also a part of SRK’s elaborate marketing plans for the film so close to his heart. SRK’s own superhero look in the film was released two months back. “SRK is guarding Arjun’s look for a very simple reason.

He wants to generate curiousity around it. Arjun plays the title role of RA.One in the film. Reportedly, SRK will release his look just 15 days before the release date,” said the source.

Arjun Rampal, despite repeated efforts, remained unavailable for comments.

Television actress Ekta Tiwari was saved by her friend and neighbours, who came to her rescue on hearing her cries for help

Television actress Ekta Tiwari, best known for her lead role in Tere Mere Sapne, has filed a complaint of attempted rape against her former driver, accusing him of molesting, assaulting and threatening her in her Bhayander flat on Thursday night.

According to the Navghar police, Tiwari stays alone at her Naya Nagar flat in Bhayandar and had employed Mira Road resident Sajid Sayyed (26) as her driver three months ago.

She fired him a fortnight back, following which he started sending her lewd SMSes and began stalking her.

"I required a driver and an acquaintance introduced me to Sayyed. I used to talk to him but never discussed anything personal. However, he must have misunderstood me and thought that I was attracted to him.

Sayyed began falling in love with me and started acting weird. I was not comfortable with his behaviour and fired him 15 days ago. This must have hurt his ego," said Tiwari.

Tiwari had warned Sayyed to back off, but he wanted to have an affair with her. On Thursday, Tiwari was at home when Sayyed came to her building.

He kept a watch the entire day and, noticing that she was alone, began shouting her name. Scared, Tiwari asked Sayyed to go, but he barged into her house instead and tried to rape her.

Rape attempt

"On Thursday, Sayyed barged into my house and grabbed my hand. I warned him to go away but he began kissing me violently. He dragged me to the bedroom and tore my clothes.

I ran to the window and shouted, but he grabbed me and pushed me against the wall. I got hold of my mobile phone and dialled the number of one of my friends but Sayyed snatched the phone, dropped it on the floor and pushed me on the bed," she said.

"He was trying to rape me, but my friend and neighbours came there and saved me. They tried to nab Sayyed but he fled, threatening to kill me and them," said Tiwari.

"We are on the look out for Sayyed. He fled the scene when Tiwari's neighbours heard her cries for help and came to her rescue," said API M Shivadkar from the Navghar police station, where Tiwari filed the complaint yesterday.

Katrina, dressed casually in a pair of shorts, a white t-shirt and a bright orange inner, holds a guitar in the song, and looks like a complete rockstar.

The 27-year-old shot for the song at Agra fort, and a crowd of over 1,000 gathered in no time, according to a source from the sets of the movie, which is being made under Yash Raj Films banner.

Actor Sanjay Dutt seems to have prepared a return gift for his fans, on his birthday today.

Filmmaker Karan Johar officially released the first look of Kancha Cheena from his forthcoming film Agneepath, on the eve of Sanjay Dutt's birthday.

Though Dailybhaskar.com was the first one to reveal the look, almost a month before, the picture released, has Dutt looking extremely vicious and evil.

The actor, who is now shooting at Thailand, had spoken about his career defining role to us sometime back, Dutt said "I play a negative character- Kancha Cheena and the best thing I love about him is the deadly look."

Sanjay had further added by saying, "I am sure it is going to scare a lot of my fans."

Aarti Chhabria wins 'Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi'

Model-turned actress Aarti Chhabria has won the fourth season of 'Fear Factor-Khatron Ke Khiladi' after weeks of gruelling tasks involving underwater stunts, fighting off creepy crawlies and jumping off dangerous heights.

Aarti and her partner Dhaval Thakur succeeded over singer Mauli Dave and Dhiraj, after facing two risky stunts on the grand finale, aired on Colors Saturday (July 23). Model Diandra Soares and her partner Arhan were the other finalists, but lost the first stunt.

Aarti made her debut in Bollywood with 'Tumse Achcha Kaun Hai' (2002) and later featured in films like 'Awara Paagal Deewana' and 'Shootout At Lokhandwala' amongst others.

The 28-year-old not only walked away with the title of being the 'Khiladi', but has also been chosen as the 'Thums Up Thunder Star', where she will get an opportunity to feature with Akshay in the new campaign. Her partner Dhaval won a Scorpio car.

The finale involved a stunt where the male contestant had to drive the car and the female contestant was controlling the vehicle's momentum.

In the second stunt, the female contestant was tied up in a bus which was set on fire and the male contestant had to unlock her and set her free. He also had to reach for the 'Thums Up' bottle which was tied up at three feet above the ground and whichever team did it fast, won the show.

The show, hosted by Akshay Kumar and shot in South Africa, started with 13 female celebrities. Models like Diandra, Alesia Raut and Poonam Pandey, actresses Aarti, Smita Bansal and Aashka Goradia, item girls Sambhavna Seth and Kashmera Shah, two VJs - Bani and Mia Uyeda, singer Mauli Dave and Dina Singh who is actor Vindu Dara Singh's wife and Anjum Chopra, the former captain of the Indian women's cricket team, were a part of this season.

'Khatron Ke Khiladi' is the Indian version of 'Fear Factor', where contestants undergo daredevil stunts to get over their fears and win the show.

Use of Internet affecting memory

Researchers have found that the widespread use of search engines and online databases is affecting the way people remember information. To know whether people were more likely to remember information that could be easily retrieved from a computer, Betsy Sparrow, an assistant professor of psychology at Columbia and her collaborators, Daniel M. Wegner of Harvard and Jenny Liu of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, staged different memory experiments, reports the New York Times.

In one experiment where participants typed 40 bits of trivia, the team found that the subjects were significantly more likely to remember information if they thought they would not be able to find it later.

“Participants did not make the effort to remember when they thought they could later look up the trivia statement they had read,” wrote the authors.

A second experiment was aimed at determining whether computer accessibility affects precisely what we remember.

“If asked the question whether there are any countries with only one colour in their flag, for example,” the researchers wrote, “do we think about flags — or immediately think to go online to find out?”

In this case, participants were asked to remember both the trivia statement itself and which of five computer folders it was saved in. The researchers were surprised to find that people seemed better able to recall the folder.

“That kind of blew my mind,” Dr. Sparrow said.

The experiment explores an aspect of what is known as transactive memory — the notion that we rely on our family, friends and co-workers as well as reference material to store information for us.

The Internet’s effects on memory are still largely unexplored, Dr. Sparrow said, adding that her experiments had led her to conclude that the Internet has become our primary external storage system.

“Human memory,” she said, “is adapting to new communications technology.”

Amitabh jumps to Aishwarya's rescue

Just a day after Madhur Bhandarkar expressed his disappointment over having been kept in the dark about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's pregnancy, Amitabh Bachchan spoke up in Ash's defense in an interview to Mumbai-based newspaper DNA.

The Big B is apparently miffed with reports that Ash's backing out of Heroine has resulted in monetary losses to the production house to the tune of Rs 18 crore. He said that all such reports are false.

Bachchan argued that every actor has a right to get married and have children. 'Everybody knew that Aishwarya was married when she signed the film. So you mean to say that actors can't get married or have children? I don't think this can be a part of any contract that you cannot get married or have children if you working in a project,' Amitabh told the newspaper.

The actor is also upset with UTV, the production house. Shoebite, his film with the studio that he'd shot for a while ago, is still to see the light of the day.

While Ash has refrained from making any comments on the developments so far, a source says that she wasn't paid anythng for the film.

25-year old dies using Chinese phone

The incident occurred when 25-year-old Dhanji Damor was trying to make a call while his phone was plugged in for charging. The victim was pronounced dead by doctors due to electrocution.

This movie also marks the debut of South actress Kajal Aggarwal in Bollywood. She comes on vacation to Singham’s home town and falls in love with the eligible policeman.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Singham is a remake of Tamil film Singam starring Suriya, Anushka Shetty and Prakash Raj. Singham releases in theaters on July 22.

Actors and cricketers abandon stolen cars

A British businessman and a North Korean diplomat are facing charges of running a multi-million pound racket of stolen super luxury cars.

The duo were evading hefty import duties by claiming the cars were for diplomatic use, while in actuality they sold it to rich and famous at half the original prices, London's The Telegraph Group reported.

The smuggling operation came to fore following a tax investigation that forced the nervous buyers, including Bollywood superstars and cricket players scrambling to abandon the vehicles and avoid arrest.

Among the 40 cars that are currently impounded are models like Porsche Panameras, sold in India for £250,000 (Dh1.5 million), a Bentley Continental Supersport, costing £350,000, several Aston Martin Rapides, with a price tag of £290,000, and a Maserati costing £170,000.

According to officials from India's Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, the scheme to cheat its tax authority out of millions of pounds centres on a British-Indian car dealer in Britain who arranged shipments to India where demand for luxurious cars is insatiable.

Detectives hope to take their investigation to London where a number of Britons are suspected of involvement. They are also preparing to approach North Korea and Vietnam to uncover more information about the roles played by their diplomats in New Delhi. Investigators believe they were lured into the scheme by dealers to exploit diplomatic tax concessions. Duties on imported luxury cars are 100 per cent of their import value.

Foul language, offensive characters, adult content - expect it all from Aamir Khan’s production Delhi Belly.

Perhaps to pre-empt any backlash, producer Aamir Khan and director Abhinay Deo are almost apologetically forthcoming about their film Delhi Belly, starring Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunaal Roy Kapoor.

The film has a lot of offensive language which may not go down well with the family audiences.

“Honestly, I think a lot may get offended with the language used in the film. Of course, it's completely youth oriented,” Deo is quoted as saying by a news agency.

Sneak peek - Delhi Belly

The film has been scripted by Akshat Verma who is based in Los Angeles.

While conceding the explicit content of the film, Deo does hold that the script is indeed funny.

“The script is outstanding. It's so funny. As a director I could take that script and go further. It's a very my kind of a film,” said Deo.

Earlier, Aamir Khan, the film’s producer, had feared that Delhi Belly will destroy all the goodwill he has created in the industry.

“Aamir Khan Productions is known for its inspiring, clean, family entertainment. All that is about to change! 'Delhi Belly' has the potential of destroying, in a single stroke, all the goodwill we have built in the last 10 years,” Aamir wrote on his blog.

Well, all the remarks about the explicit content of Delhi Belly only create the temptation of the forbidden fruit among the movie buffs. The film likely to open well at the box office on July 1.

The couple, who tied the knot after a two year long courtship on November 22, 2009, are ready to welcome a new member in their family.

While this is a first for Shilpa, Kundra already knows what it's like to be a parent. The entrepreneur, who was formerly married to Kavita, is father to daughter Deleena, born on September 9, 2006.

Reportedly, Shilpa has wanted to be a parent for a very long time. In a media report, in 2009, she said, "I'm desperate to start a family. I just love children, and we've a beautiful readymade nursery (in the new house). I want at least two children.

There is already a child's bedroom here because Raj has a nephew and I can certainly see my children running around this place.

And there is enough space for us to live at one end while Raj's parents live at the other." And this was even before she got married!

Well, it looks like her dreams are materialising as the actress has been spotted at several clinics around the city. Our source confirmed, "Shilpa is expecting and the couple are extremely happy.

Only the close family members and friends have been informed of the new arrival. They do not want to announce it publicly before the first trimester passes."

Shilpa, who shot to fame in the UK after she won the celebrity Big Brother, married Raj in November 2009.

The couple went on to buy a share in the Rajasthan Royals team of the IPL and have devoted their attention to the game ever since, until now that is.

Despite repeated text messages and calls, both Shilpa and Raj Kundra remained unavailable for comment.
