Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s theme song vocalist, Donna Burke, will feature on a forthcoming episode of Kojima Productions’ Alert Podcast on July 18, the company has confirmed.

The episode will take place at 5.30 p.m. PST and will give fans the opportunity to submit questions for a Q&A segment.

Burke has appeared in a number of video game soundtracks over the years, and in addition to providing the vocal for The Phantom Pain’s ‘Sins of the Father’ theme also appeared on the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker track ‘Heavens Divide.’

Metal Gear Solid V takes place in the 1980s and sees the legendary Big Boss – now known as Punished Snake – awakening from a nine-year coma and forming the mercenary group Diamond Dogs. Snake’s new mission sees him infiltrating Afghanistan in order to track down those responsible for the destruction of Militaries Sans Frontieres (MSF).

The stealth-action title will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. A release date has yet to be announced.

DUST 514 gets the first of 'rapid-fire updates' with Uprising 1.2

The upgrade brings a whole host of changes across the board with graphics, sound, control, performance and balance all getting some love on top of some new content and features.

Uprising 1.2 marks the first of CCP's 'rapid-fire updates' which will deploy on a monthly basis. Earlier this year, CCP explained that DUST 514 would probably get 3 to 4 sizeable updates a year. However, in a recent dev blog, Creative Director Atli Mar Sveinsson (CCP Praetorian) explained a change of direction in the company's approach.

"We listen to your feedback, as well as to feedback from the media. As a result, we have decided to move into a faster, more iterative update cycle. We will be pushing out point releases (Update 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.) on a near-monthly basis. This is unique in the console space, only possible because our friends at Sony work with us to evolve the submission processes to suit free-to-play massively multiplayer titles like DUST."

I had the chance to speak with DUST 514's Executive Producer, Brandon Laurino, at this year's FanFest. In the midst of our lengthy chat he told me that the company is growing in leaps and bounds in its ability to develop and author content for the game. They are able to do more, quicker, and it’s starting to show. According to this thread at the official forums, the content of Uprising 1.3 has already been locked and is presumably in for a month of QA before it launches around the end of July or early August.

Rapid-fire updates are just part of the equation. Another important part of this evolving methodology is the community of DUST gamers and the Council of Planetary Management (CPM) that acts as a liaison between the community and the devs. The CPM consists of DUST players who were picked by CCP for the role. Andrew House, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI), has expressed his belief that the PlayStation 4 is a return-to-form for the electronics giant.

Speaking to The Guardian, House said that the company’s next-generation games machine is taking SCE back to its roots, harkening back to the days of the original PlayStation and its successor.

"I see our approach on PS4 as really taking Sony Computer Entertainment back to our original roots," he said. "When we first launched with the PS1 and certainly the PS2, the goal was to give the consumer more choice, and lots of flexibility at a time when the delivery mechanism of games, on cartridges, placed a lot of restrictions on the industry. And also, by shifting to disks, to give developers - and particularly smaller ones - the chance to take risks and build a business. I think you're seeing exactly those kinds of principles applied to PS4."

Reports last week suggested that the PlayStation 4 Eye was dropped as a pack-in to allow Sony to slap a $399 price tag on its new console. And, while House said that while the peripheral provides a “great consumer experience,” Sony is not “forcing that purchase on the consumer.”

"We have a new development environment, that developers are telling us is significantly easier to make great games for, and we've undertaken a significant amount of outreach to smaller developers," House said. "And the net result is that we're seeing a lot of developers coming out of the mobile space, and I think that's a tremendously positive trend for console gaming. Essentially, we have access to a whole new set of talent in gaming that we didn't have before."

Sony announced at $399 price point for PS4 at E3 a few weeks ago. The console is scheduled to ship this holiday season alongside the likes of Killzone: Shadow Fall and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

The upcoming high-definition revamp of Final Fantasy X/X-2 will feature a brand new 30-minute drama sequence, according to reports out of Japan (via Siliconera).

The extra scene will be displayed during the credits and includes fresh voice acting. It’ll be penned by scenario writer Kazushige Nojima.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 is due out this year for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. While the games will come bundled together for the console release, the handheld versions will be sold separately. Both titles feature a HD makeover and ship on a single Blu-ray disc for PS3.

Pin ItArticle EditDiscussWhether you're celebrating Independence Day, Guy Fawkes Day, or Diwali, it's always tempting to take pictures of the fireworks exploding in air. After all, a good firework show is an amazing spectacle, and you've probably got a camera on you anyway. Unfortunately photographs of fireworks usually don't hold a candle to the real thing. If you're tired of your festive pictures coming out grainy, blurry, underexposed or overexposed, read on.

Edit Steps1Change your approach from treating light as illumination to treating it as subject. This requires a different way of thinking about how you use the camera because fireworks create their own exposure.[1] In order to preserve color and shape, you will have to be prepared to vary the exposure and to account for other elements such as smoke from fireworks, or building lights in the background. Knowing how to focus the camera properly is also going to be important because passive autofocus systems cannot manage in darkness or low light situations,[2] so be prepared to go beyond the simple point and click.

A fireworks show involves many, many fireworks, so be ready to experiment, preferably with a digital camera so you get instant feedback. Since fireworks produce basically monochromatic light (from chemicals), their colors will be distinct at a variety of apertures and ISO settings. A long exposure is required to let a few fireworks trace out their patterns. Different aperture and ISO settings will affect the brightness of the surroundings – bright surroundings are distracting, but subdued rather than completely black surroundings are much more interesting. Choose the amount of foreground and sides to include with this in mind. (The aperture setting isn't very important for depth of field with far away fireworks, since they'll be essentially at infinity, and any foreground should be dim and indistinct in any event – it mainly matters for overall exposure, and a relatively wide aperture and low ISO will give less "noise" than a small aperture and high ISO.)

2Get a good position! Try to determine approximately where the fireworks will be bursting and get a spot with an unobstructed view of that area. If the fireworks are popular, you'll need to show up early to get a good spot. Figure out the wind direction and get upwind of the fireworks so that your shots aren't obscured by smoke blowing toward you. Find a spot where you can avoid getting a lot of extraneous ambient light in the picture, as this will cause an overexposure.

When scouting out your location, choose some interesting features to serve as the background. This will make your photos more exciting for others to view.

3Set the camera on the tripod. Fireworks generally accompany celebrations, so it's not surprising if your memories of them are a little blurry. Your pictures, however, should be crisp and clear. Photographing fireworks requires long exposure times, so a tripod is your most important ally. No matter how steady your hand is, it's not steady enough.

Don't extend the legs or center column of the tripod. Keep everything close to the ground to keep the camera as steady as possible.

A flashlight can be used to fill in shadows.[3]Ensure that wherever the tripod is set up is safely out of the way of other people tripping over it. If you're in a crowd, ask a friend to act as a shield to ensure other people don't walk into your camera shooting while you're looking upward.4Ensure the camera settings are correct. While some digital cameras have a "fireworks mode", where you don't have to worry about the settings, knowing how to fix the settings to work to the best advantage for taking great shots of fireworks is essential. It's best to set these well ahead of time, as it may be difficult to see your camera controls or your checklist in the dusk or dark. Double checking before you set off the take the photos is a good way to get used to changing the camera settings and knowing the limitations of your camera. The changes that you need to consider making to the settings include:

Set the focus to infinity. You're generally far enough away from fireworks that you can adjust the lens focus to infinity and leave it there. If you want to get a closeup of a small part of the burst, you may need to adjust the focus as you zoom in. If you want to include buildings or people in the background, you may want to bring these into focus. Avoid the use of auto focus if possible; as already noted, most cameras have difficulty adjusting focus in low light conditions.

Use a smaller aperture. Set the aperture in the f5.6 to f16 range. F8 is usually a good bet, but if you're shooting with ISO 200 film you may want to kick it up to f16.

Turn off the flash. The fireworks are bright enough, and your flash wouldn't effectively reach them anyway; however, it will dull the atmosphere of the shot, thereby lessening its impact.

Take off any filters or lens caps before shooting.

If your lens has IS (Canon) or VR (Nikon), turn it off before shooting. If you are shooting with an SLR or DSLR camera, chances are your lens has the IS (image stabilization) or VR (vibration reduction) feature built in. And if you have IS or VR (it is essentially the same thing, but Canon and Nikon just had to label it differently), then chances are you are used to leaving it on close to 100 percent of the time - which is generally a good idea. IS/VR is meant to sense the vibration (the shaking of your hands, mostly) and compensate for it. When it does not sense any, it... creates it. Turn it off in order to get sharper images. (This tip goes not only for shooting fireworks, but is valid any time you shoot off a tripod.)

5Frame the picture before shooting. Look through the viewfinder during the first few bursts and figure out where the action is. Point your camera at that spot and leave it there. You don't want to be looking through the viewfinder while you're trying to shoot, because you'll likely shake the camera or your timing will be off. If you're trying to get closeups, of course, your framing will need to be more exact and you'll probably have to play with it more. Once again, frame carefully to exclude other light sources that might distract from the fireworks or cause your photos to be overexposed.

6Keep the shutter open to capture the entire burst. Despite what it may feel to you, provided the sky is very black, leaving the shutter open won't result in overexposure.[4] Set the exposure to the maximum length. To get the sharpest image it is best that nothing comes in contact with the camera during the exposure. Use the automatic long exposure of 30 seconds or more. If your camera does not have an automatic long exposure the use of a cable release is okay. Use the BULB (B) setting, which will keep the shutter open as long as the button is depressed. A rule of thumb is to open the shutter as soon as you hear or see the rocket shooting into the sky and to leave it open until the burst is dissipating. This will usually take several seconds.

To capture the best effects from bursts, exposure times will usually be about half a second and four seconds but judge it as you see it.[5] For ISO 100, photography expert John Hedgecoe recommends trying 4 seconds at f5.6.[6]

When taking a reading for exposure, don't point the camera at the center of the light source; if you do, the shot risks being underexposed and the trails of light will be faint. Instead, experiment with a range of shutter speeds and if it's possible, bracket the exposure.[7]

To use auto focus in the dark of night, try to first take a picture of lights on the horizon. Then when you set off the next exposure into the pitch black of night the lens will already be set at infinity. Also, try starting the long exposure when there is a large fireworks burst. The auto focus may work on this pattern and therefore ensure that a subsequent burst during the exposure will be in focus too.

7Spice it up. Even good pictures of fireworks can be boring if there's nothing to distinguish them. You can make more interesting photos by including buildings in the background or spectators in the foreground. Choose your shooting location to try to get an unusual and unique perspective on the show if possible. Ensure that the camera is stable on its tripod and that the focal length and frame is right for the height of the fireworks.

For a wide angled shot of fireworks in a setting such as a well lighted cityscape, judge the height of the first few fireworks bursts and use that as a reference for framing the whole scene. Vary the exposure times set on your tripod-locked camera so that it captures both single and multiple fireworks bursts.[8]

Edit TipsUse a timer if you have one, to help avoid vibration from movement.Try holding the cable release button down half way before you start the shot. Press it the rest of the way when you want to start the shot. On some cameras this reduces the lag time before the exposure begins. This tip is most useful if you cannot turn off the auto focus feature of the camera.These steps can be applied to similar bursts of light, such as welding and sparklers.When trying to capture multiple bursts, cover the lens (without touching the camera) with something black between bursts. A black hat or piece of heavy black paper works well. This prevents other light sources from overexposing the film between bursts. Simply place the cover in front of the lens after one burst has dissipated, and take the cover away when the new one rockets into the air.The choice of lens is up to you, depending on how far from the fireworks you are and what perspective you want to achieve. A zoom lens is best if you want to try a variety of shots.Use slow film or ISO setting on a digital camera. The burning embers give off plenty of light for proper exposure. This trick has the extra benefit as to force an automatic camera to take as long of an exposure as possible. It's a bit counterintuitive, but you should stick to film speeds between ISO 50 and ISO 100. You can usually get away with speeds up to ISO 200 in a pinch. Some photographers prefer tungsten film or digital camera setting, while others prefer daylight film or setting. You will get different results with either. If you have a digital camera, set the ISO somewhere between 50 and 100.

But the beauty of photography is that it's all about experimenting and finding your own solutions with your camera.If photographing neighborhood fireworks or in close range to the fireworks, look out for falling debris.

Digital cameras have the advantage that you can see the results while the show is going on. You can see your mistakes or success on the spot, and correct for them immediately.The use of a tripod to hold the camera steady is mandatory for good results. It does not have to be an expensive one; the cheapest you can find will do. Table top models are available for little money.Bring a flashlight--it's dark outside! You can check the progress on your pictures and access your setting to reset, if needed.

Bungie has released the official gameplay reveal of Destiny, its space-operatic post-Halo shooter, on PS4.

The footage below, first seen during Sony's E3 2013 media briefing, depicts Bungie developers teaming up to travel through an immense wall to explore the uncharted territory of Old Russia on the other side. Along the way, they battle various forms of the Fallen, humanoid aliens with a host of imaginative weaponry and evasive manuevers.

The game's loot and equipment systems are also briefly displayed. The demo narrator's character--a Human Warlock--acquires the Thunderlord, an "exotic machinegun" that he purports to be one of Destiny's best weapons. We also get a glimpse at the gun's talent tree, confirming that weapons in Destiny have numerous unlockable upgrades--including radical changes to the weapon's function and power--that can be acquired with talent points.

PSU awarded Destiny our E3 2013 Best Shooter award, recognizing Bungie's next-gen title as "THE shooter that won E3."

Making the Mini Cupcakes1Make mini cupcakes. Use the simple box recipe and pour into mini-cupcake molds before baking. Adjust the cooking time accordingly. The cupcakes need to be small enough to fit the kabob stick without being unwieldy.When making the batter, add any food coloring you'd like. This tutorial's cupcakes are blue but you can make yours any color.

Decorating the Cupcakes1Decorate the cupcakes. Use store-bought or homemade frosting, as preferred. Dip your cupcake in the frosting, turning it so it comes out with a tiny point at the top. Dip it the exact same way in a shallow bowl of sprinkles. Be modest with the amount of sprinkles added, to create a cleaner look.

It's always good to heat up any store-bought frosting for about 15 seconds in the microwave to get it a little more liquids in order for the sprinkles to stay.If you prefer, pipe the icing onto the cupcakes rather than dipping them.

Adding Sprinkles to the Marshmallows

In this section, you'll jazz up the marshmallows by adding sprinkles to each end of the candy.

1Dip the marshmallows in water. The water will work as an adhesive for the sprinkles. Do this on both sides.

2Dip the marshmallow in the sprinkles on both sides. As you can see here, different colors have been added to each end of the marshmallow for the best effect.

3After you're done with both sides you should have something like this:

Assembling the Cupcake Kabobs1Assemble the cupcake kabobs. Slide on the cupcakes, fruit pieces and marshmallows in any order you choose. Go crazy or follow a pre-designed pattern. Either way, the end result will look delicious!

2Hold the first kabob up to check its balance. Adjust if needed (for example, if it feels too top heavy, rearrange the pieces a little). Use this to inform the addition of the food pieces for the remaining cupcake kabobs.

3Place onto suitable plates for serving. Here, a Fourth of July themed plate has been used to serve as a complementary background. Done!

Windows1Check your hard disk space. As a rule, you want to keep at least 15% of the hard disk space free to keep the computer running smoothly. Simply go to My Computer, right-click on Hard Drive, and go to Properties. There you'll see a pie chart of your free versus used space. If it’s mostly full, you'll want to start by removing unnecessary programs and files; it it’s not, you probably want to tackle the actual way your computer operates.2Remove any programs you do not use. Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (or Uninstall a Program, depending on your operating system) to find a master list of programs installed on your computer. Some things will strike you as useless immediately, in which case you can remove them right away. Others won’t look familiar to you and may require you to do some research.It may help to see how often you use the program. If you right-click one of the column titles above your program list (ex. Name, Publisher, Size, Installed On, etc.), you should be able to add additional characteristics by which to judge your programs. For example, find Last Used On on the list of options and check it; a column displaying the last time you used each program will now appear and can also be used to sort your programs. Some programs will not have been used in years and may be candidates for deletion.When in doubt, don't remove anything you don’t recognize; it may be critical to the function of your computer – and if you delete twelve different things only to discover that your computer no longer works properly, it will be very difficult to determine where exactly you went wrong.Don't forget to empty your recycling bin.3Prevent unnecessary programs from starting when the computer boots. The more programs try to run while your computer initializes, the slower everything will be. Revise your startup programs by altering your system configuration via MSConfig.4Install an anti-virus program, spyware scanner, and an anti-malware. The fewer bugs, viruses, and bits of adware your computer has to manage, the more time it will have to devote to other processes. While you're at it, make a point of keeping Windows up-to-date; not only will this keep Windows itself in better shape, but some viruses ride in on Windows updates that are downloaded way after the fact (and therefore not monitored as closely).5Run a Disk Cleanup. This can clean up hundreds of megabytes of temporary files – sometimes even gigabytes (if you have Windows XP, Vista, or 7). It will also open a window in which you can chose what to delete. Go to My Computer, right-click the Hard Drive and select Properties, and then click Disc Cleanup (within the General tab). Check all the boxes except for the game files and setup files.6Run a Disk Defragment. This will reconfigure the way the hard drive stores information for maximum efficiency. Go to My Computer, right-click the Hard Drive and select Properties, then go to the Tools tab and click Defragment Now.Defragment is NOT required for SSD (Solid State Drives)7Check for any disk errors. These will also slow your computer down. Go to My Computer, right-click the Hard Drive and select Properties, then go to the Tools tab and click Check Now under the Error-Checking area. When the dialogue box opens, check both boxes.If you get a window saying that Windows can't check the disk while it's in use, click on Schedule Disk Check and then OK. It will run on your next reboot.8Turn off indexing. Go to My Computer, right-click the Hard Drive and select Properties, then unclick the box indicating that the drive should be indexed. Don't do this if you actually use any of the Windows Search functionality. The background indexing is what makes those searches fast and Windows is already very good about not getting in your way to do indexing while you're trying to do something else.9Clear your Prefetch folder. Windows saves a file of the program you are using to make it start up faster. After years of use, this folder gets stuffed with irrelevant programs.Open Notepad and type:
del C:\Windows\Prefetch\*.* /Q
Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks
(Copy and paste this text to ensure you don’t make any mistakes.)Save as faster.bat (the .bat extension will run it as a batch file).Run it! Simply double-click the file to initialize. In a few moments, the command prompt will disappear and your programs should run more smoothly.10Change Prefetch Parameters. This a dangerous task to complete unless you follow these steps exactly. If you're not sure about anything, don’t continue.Go to Start > Run and type regedit to initialize the registry editor.Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>Control>Session Manager>Memory Management>Prefetch Parameters to access the parameters.Double-click EnablePrefetcher. Once the new window pops up, there should be a small, editable text box with the number 3 in it. (Windows allows 4 options: 0, 1, 2 and 3.) 3, the default, fetches everything.Change this to 2. Your PC will boot a lot faster and your PC performance shouldn't be affected.Click OK and then close regedit.11Add RAM to your computer. To see if you need more RAM, initialize the Windows Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE. Under the Performance tab, find the area devoted to Physical Memory. If the Free amount hovers around zero but the computer is still slow, you may need to take your computer in to add RAM or even add more RAM yourself.12Restart your computer. The computer usually needs to reboot to implement changes.13Defragment your hard drive. This should make the system boot faster.Yes, repeated defragment again (See above) as changes may require another defragment.14Remove gadgets you don't use. All gadgets that are running slow down your computer.15Log off the users who do not want the computer. Switch user your account then if you see that many users are logged in, log them off.

Macintosh1Check your hard disk space. As a rule, you want to keep around 30% of the hard disk space free to keep things running smoothly. Simply right-click the Hard Drive icon on your desktop and go to Get Info.2Uninstall unnecessary programs. You can either uninstall them manually or download a program to help you sort and delete them. Some things will strike you as useless immediately, in which case you can remove them right away. Others won’t look familiar to you and may require you some research.When in doubt, don't remove anything you don’t recognize; it may be critical to the function of your computer – and if you delete twelve different things only to discover that your computer no longer works properly, it will be very difficult to determine where exactly you went wrong.3Delete files you don't need. Unless you have very little storage space on your computer or simply have an abundance of unnecessary documents, deleting small files won't make much of an impact on your computer’s overall function. However, any large files like movies you never watch, photos you don't need, or songs you never listen to can really gum up the works and should definitely be removed.Don't forget to empty your trash bin.4Prevent unnecessary programs from starting when the Mac boots. The more programs try to run while your computer initializes, the slower everything will be. Go to System > Preferences > Accounts > Login Items. Select any items you don’t need and click the minus (-) sign to remove them.5Repair the disk. Go to Applications > Utilities > Run Disk Utility to repair both the disk and the disk permissions. It’s a good idea to run this once a month or at least once every few months.6Remove unnecessary dashboard widgets. Even if you don’t have the dashboard activated, these widgets can eat up RAM by running background updates while you try to do other things.If you have OS X 10.4.2 or later, simply use the Widget Manager: go to the Dashboard and open the Widget Bar by clicking the plus (+) sign; click Manage Widgets and then either deselect widgets to disable them or, if they’re third-party widgets, remove them completely by pressing the red delete button, which is a circle with a line through it, and click OK to confirm.7If you use Mac OS X, download a free program called Monolingual. With OS X, much of your computer’s hard disk is devoted to virtual memory and gets eaten up by language-availability software. Monolingual will allow you to remove languages you don’t use on in order to free up space.

Edit WarningsNever delete system32 files on Windows! These are critical to running the OS correctly and will break your computer.Do not delete "shared" files! Sometimes, a program you don’t want shares files with programs you do want, making those files unsuitable for deletion. Deleting the incorrect shared file can have wide-ranging consequences.

Warrior's Lair cancelled for PS3 and PS Vita

The long-awaited Warrior’s Lair, a PlayStation Vita action-RPG, has been cancelled.

IGN received the following statement today from a Sony representative:

"Sony Computer Entertainment can confirm that Warrior’s Lair for PS Vita is no longer in development. We apologize to those who pre-ordered the title and ask that they contact their retailer directly to cancel their pre-sale."

The Sony rep continued in reassurance, saying, “The line-up of PS Vita first-party and third-party content remains strong with more than 85 titles scheduled to launch for the system by the end of 2013 including Killzone: Mercenary, Tearaway, Doki Doki Universe, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, Flower, The Walking Dead, and more."

Warrior’s Lair was originally announced as Ruin back in 2011 as a showpiece for PS Vita. Originally in development by Idol Minds, the game's image was beset by rumors that spread of Idol Minds' closing and that the game had been taken on by Sony San Diego in early 2012. With a lack of appearance at last year’s E3, it had seemed Warrior’s Lair was in trouble.

Saints Row IV continues the series’ descent into outright madness, and sees the leader of the infamous gang elected President of the United States. Here, we find the Saints dealing with an alien invasion by wielding superpowers and all manner of barmy weapons and vehicles, including the controversial Alien anal probe.

Saints Row IV is scheduled to ship on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 in August.

With the recent news of ATLUS’ parent company Index Corporation allegedly facing bankruptcy, many fans are worried about the well-being of the prominent developer of favorites like Persona and Shin Megami Tensei. Atlus USA responded quickly following the initial news, stating that it was “unaffected” by the misfortunes of Index Corporation in Japan.

While this was relieving to hear, most of the games produced under the Atlus brand are from its Japan studio. So, what about Atlus Japan?

Today, Atlus Japan shed some light on its status through statements on the developer’s official website and Twitter account. “From hereafter also, the development and sales of the Atlus brand as well as the consumer business will continue," it said.

Atlus added that "Other retail and download titles that are currently on sale will continue to be sold as they are currently." Meanwhile, highly anticipated PS Vita sidescroller Dragon’s Crown will release in Japan on July 25 as planned.

The developer, however, did not release comment on whether or not the status of games currently in development--Persona 5, most notable--would be affected by Index Corporation’s troubles.

Edit Steps1Buy quality and fresh meat. If possible, ask your butcher to grind the meat for you while you wait. Look for 75 - 80 percent lean for the juiciest burgers and tasty (leaner meat will be dryer and more likely to fall apart on the grill; more fat means more flavor). The meat should have a bright pink color. This is critical, as meat that has even a slight grayish color may be fine for meatloaf, but will drastically affect the taste of your burgers.

2Season the meat (or not) as desired. Many chefs like to add sauces or other seasonings to burgers before cooking; others like to prepare their burgers plain to let the natural flavor of good quality meat shine through. Experiment with plain burgers or try adding your favorite flavors before cooking. Here are some classic burger seasonings many people enjoy (try adding just a few tsp when learning how much you like; you don't want to overseason):

Salt and pepper (1-2 tsp. each)

Finely chopped onion

Soy sauce

Worcestershire sauce

Barbecue sauce

Steak sauce

3Shape the hamburger meat into 1/4 - 1/3 lb patties, about 1/2 inch thick, and about the diameter of a hamburger bun. Try not to overwork the meat when doing the shaping; the more you handle it, the dryer and tougher it will tend to be when cooked.

4Prepare your grill. Many cooks prefer a charcoal grill for flavor, while others enjoy the convenience of gas.

Charcoal grill: If using a charcoal grill, avoid using lighter fluid, which can leave unpleasant residual flavors. Instead, use a chimney starter which avoids chemicals. Use enough charcoal to cover the bottom of your grill and create a hot fire.Gas grill: Ignite your grill and turn to "high." Wait until it is thoroughly heated before grilling.5Brush the hot rack of your grill with oil to prevent sticking (optional).

6Place your burgers on hot grill. Especially if using a charcoal grill, pay attention to where your grill is hotter or cooler (all grills have some spots that are hotter than others). Pay attention to the time.

7Turn your burgers after 4-5 minutes, and cook for another 4-5 minutes. Do your best not to turn the burgers more than once; the more you handle meat while it is cooking, the dryer it will be.

8Add sliced cheese about 1-2 minutes before the burgers are done (optional).

9Check to make sure the burgers are done. Here are two ways to do this:

Remove one burger and cut into it. For medium-rare, the inside should be pinkish, but not bloody.

Use an instant-read meat thermometer. The USDA recommends an internal temperature of 160 degrees F [1].10Take your burgers off the grill as soon as they are done to avoid overcooking. Remember that they will cook a little bit after they are taken from the grill.

11Serve your burgers with a variety of condiments. Enjoy!

If you are using a gas grill, place Black Cherry chunks on the grilling surface....not the flame. Or, using an aluminum pie plate with holes punched in it, fill with black cherry chips and put on grilling surface.Many people prefer the flavor or meat grilled over hardwood charcoal to traditional briquettes.

Edit WarningsBe careful when working near the grill to avoid being burned.Over-handling the ground beef will cause the fat to melt early. This causes a dense, tough burger. Keep the beef in the fridge until the exact moment you are ready to make the patties. Before handling the beef, place your hands in ice water or very cold tap water.Avoid under-cooking ground beef to protect against possible food-borne illnesses.Do not add lighter fluid or match-light charcoal while food is on the grill.Some research suggests that grilling meats at high temperatures can produce cancer-causing substances in the meat. However, this is in dispute by many other scientists[2].

The vice president of PR and Marketing for Bethesda has touched base on possible follow-ups to Dishonored and Rage.

Speaking with IGN, Pete Hines reiterated that the company thinks of Dishonored as a franchise, though made it clear that nothing has been set in stone as of yet. It all comes down to what developer Arkane has in the pipeline.

“In general, we try not to wade into anything as a one-off in the first place,” said Hines, “so yeah, for sure. The success of that game and how proud Arkane is of it and what goes on at any studio when they put out something like that and all the ideas that are coming out, certainly it’s something that we feel is a franchise.”

“It’s specific to Arkane,” Hines explained. “What we do or don’t do on Dishonored has zero effect on Id, Tango, Machine Games. Each one, in some respects, kind of acts in a silo. It doesn’t really matter what those guys are making. ‘What are you good at? What are you going to work on next? What are you going to do next? Okay, that’s what we’re going to do.’ It’s as simple as that.”

Things were a little less clear cut for Rage 2 however, with developer Id currently focused on its next project, whatever that might be.

“To be determined,” said Hines, in response to whether Rage still had a future. “We’ll see. Right now, [Id’s] focus is on their current project. They are full bore on that. What I’ve seen of it recently, I’m super happy about it. We want them to stick to that until we’re ready to talk about what that is. But let’s wait until we get there first.”

Some dogs are terrified by fireworks, some might sneak a drink of that beer, and others can be frightened by crowds and the noise and sight of parades. Be aware that at this time of year Fireworks are inevitable. Dogs will try and find recluse which may mean away from your house, yard, etc. Pay attention to their reactions and remember that dogs don't mind being crated during loud noises. It makes them feel secure.

Beforehand1Ensure that your pet’s information is up to date. Many dogs escape when they are startled by fireworks. If your pet doesn’t have a collar with a tag that has contact information on it, as well as a microchip with your current information, now is the time to get them.

Your collar should fit securely but comfortably; it should be snug enough that it won’t be easily caught on a branch or other other such thing, but not so tight as to make it uncomfortable for your dog to wear it. Be certain that it doesn't restrict your dog’s air flow – you should be able to fit two fingers between your dog’s collar and neck. There should be a tag that ensures the dog does not have rabies and another with your name and phone number on it.[1]A microchip is a tiny transponder that uses radio frequency waves to transmit information on the chip about your pet when scanned. It is implemented painlessly just under the skin using a large-bore needle by veterinarians and some shelters. Once your dog has a microchip, you must register with the company the microchip is made by; now, if your dog arrives at a shelter, (s)he will be scanned and the microchip will give the shelter your phone number to contact you with. Your microchip must have recent contact information; if it does not, simply contact the microchip company to update your information.[2]2Brush up on your dog’s training. Your dog should have basic obedience training, and should easily respond to you. The most vital commands to train are walking on leash, “come,” and “leave it,” in addition to crate training.

If your puppy is young and hasn’t been leash trained, and you intend to bring the dog to parades/parties/fireworks displays, now is the time to do this. For information on leash training, read this wikiHow article.Your recall command should be rock-solid. If your dog runs off in reaction to fireworks, or after an interesting smell, you must be able to recall him.[3] A related command is “stay”; for information on teaching this, read this article.During parties or parades, your dog is likely to come across yummy food that’s unhealthy for him to eat. To prevent him from eating anything he shouldn't, your “leave it” command should be very good. Another useful, related command is “drop it”; for information on teaching this, read this article.A crate is a useful tool during 4th of July celebrations, serving both to safely contain the dog and often calm him/her. For information on crate training, read this article.3Plan your party carefully. Choose decorations carefully – glow sticks, which are both toxic for dogs and enticingly similar to colorful chew toys, are particularly dangerous. As beer and other people food and drink are toxic for dogs, decide on a place to keep your dog(s) during the party, such as in the house if the party is in the yard. If the dog is friendly and would like to stay with the people, consider keeping him with you leashed; contained by keeping him in a room with a baby gate barring passage if the party is inside; or securely tying him to a tree, fence, or other secure object if the party is outside.

Before the party, research what foods are toxic to dogs. For information on avoiding foods toxic to dogs, read this article.4Contact a veterinarian. For owners of dogs that are extremely reactive to fireworks or other typical Independence Day activities, the best option may be to discuss ways to help your dog with an experienced veterinarian. Topics to discuss include reducing stress for older dogs and the option of sedating the dog using safe drugs.

5Consider moving your dog. If your dog is extremely stressed by Independence Day activities, the best option may be to move him to another place for the duration of the celebrations or during the most active part (such as a parade). It may be possible to locate a “doggy hotel,” friend or relative in a quiet rural area willing to keep the dog; however, expect there to be at least some amount of fireworks or parties, and it can be difficult to locate a business or person willing to care for your dog during the celebrations.

6Investigate products that may serve to calm your dog.

A commercial product of “anxiety wrap,”[4] has been used with great success. Created by behavioral experts, such an item can calm dogs in a manner similar to swaddling an infant.A crate can be very useful, as stated above. As wolves naturally occupied dens, a dog will find comfort in his own “den,” or a crate. To increase the darkness, cover the crate with a blanket, leaving part of it uncovered so the dog can see passing people and breathe fresh air.It is possible to purchase relaxing auditory CDs that have been clinically researched to calm anxious dogs; these can be helpful for calming dogs frightened by Independence Day celebrations. Ask your veterinarian for more advice.

Parties1Secure your dog in the pre-decided place, if applicable.

If he is going into a crate, place the crate in a quiet area of the house and put a safe bone, favorite toy, or other treat inside to occupy the dog. The dog will go in for the treat; once he or she is in, drape a dark-colored blanket over the crate to create darkness. Praise him and close windows and doors; you can also play a TV, radio, iPod, etc. to cover the sound of the party, or use the soothing music.If the dog is staying in the house, choose a room where the dog will be able to see the people but which people will not enter (for example, an office or study). Leave something to keep him occupied, and consider playing music/etc.2If the dog will be staying with you, keep him away from food. Avoid tables, where scraps can lay or food can sit tantalizingly close. If a guest offers your dog food, politely inform your guest that human food can be toxic for dogs and that you would prefer for your dog not to eat any. Guests, especially children, might ask you if they can walk or pet the dog; if they do, tell them that feeding the dog food is not allowed. Do not leave the dog unattended – this is particularly dangerous outside, where stray fireworks can land or the dog can bolt from if fireworks go off or there is another loud noise.

3Stay calm and alert. You’ll want to be on the lookout for anything that could scare your dog, but keep in mind that your dog can sense your emotions and will often copy them. For example: If you’re on edge and nervous, your dog will sense this and be on edge and nervous as well. Clearly, you can’t control your guests’ behavior, but take the following precautions:

Stay aware of the effect of the party’s tone on your dog. If your dog starts to become anxious or overly active, the best option can be to put him in a separate room, crate, etc.Ask kids to play away from your dog. Children running around can be especially upsetting for a dog, and it’s a good idea to ask any kids upsetting your dog to quiet down or play in a separate area.4Watch out for stray fireworks. These are an unfortunate danger in places where fireworks have been set off or have been set off nearby, and it’s wise to stay on guard for any, as fireworks are unpredictable and can be highly dangerous.

Parades1Consider leaving your dog at home. Parades can be stressful, and often the best option is to leave him at home in a crate or room, as described in the section on parties. If you don’t want to leave your dog alone, another option is to leave him with friends or family not attending. However, if you do decide to bring your dog with you, follow the steps below to keep your dog as calm and safe as possible.

2Purchase or gather the supplies you may need. These include:

A crate for securing your dog.A secure leash and collar. A harness or controlling item such as a head collar might be preferred, as your dog may pull.A muzzle. This is a necessary safety precaution, as the sights and sounds of a parade can distress your dog to the point of biting.A collapsible water bowl and water. Your pet must be kept hydrated, as should you.3Introduce your dog to the parade gradually. Though you likely won’t be able to follow through a complete desensitization due to lack of time, you can introduce your dog gradually – at first, simply allow him to adjust to the sight, smell, and noise of the crowd at a closer and closer distance, and the parade using the same rules.

4Keep your dog under control. You should only bring a dog to a parade if he has been obedience trained, but even if he has been, keep a closer eye on your dog than usual. Watch for signs that your dog is uneasy or upset; if the parade upsets your dog too much, you can take him away from the parade or, if possible, set up a crate in a secure location.

5Keep your dog as safe as possible. Keeping your dog in a car is never a safe option, as the heat can give your dog heatstroke – or even kill him – and water must be provided regularly to prevent heat stroke and keep your dog hydrated.

Firework Shows1Consider leaving your dog at home. As with parades, fireworks can be upsetting and even dangerous for dogs. Dogs who are startled by them can run off and escape, and, even if they have an up-to-date tag and microchip, are not guaranteed to be found or returned. Optionally, you can consult a veterinarian for information on drugging your dog, but in general, bringing your dog is discouraged, and should only be done if your dog:Has heard fireworks before and did not strongly react to them;Has an up-to-date tag and microchip;Has basic obedience training; “come” in particular must be rock-solid; andIs calm around crowds, playing kids, other dogs, and various other features of fireworks.2Gather your supplies. These are the same as in the section on parades.3Train your dog. If your dog appears anxious, do not reassure him – this will reward him for bad behavior, as in essence he is receiving a yummy treat when he is afraid, telling him that he should be afraid. Instead, give him attention and a treat whenever he is calm; you are now telling him that being calm is good. Use small treats easily swallowed with a strong scent to distract the dog.

4Keep an eye on your dog. Signs of anxiety include the dog licking his lips, whimpering, a tense position, and showing the whites of his eyes; if these occur, quietly and calmly remove the dog from the situation. Keep your dog hydrated; bring along a collapsible water bowl and bottles of water and offer water to your dog occasionally. Keep in mind that he may be too stressed to drink – if this happens, the best option may be to remove your dog from the situation. If your dog is calm, you can distract him with treats, a Kong toy stuffed with peanut butter, a favorite toy, or any other desirable object.

5Be prepared to leave. If your dog is too stressed by the fireworks, the best option is to immediately leave for your home. If you’re attending the fireworks with others, tell them in advance that you may have to leave if your dog becomes too anxious. At home, have a crate set up in the same manner described in the section on parties. Keep in mind that a car is not a safe option for putting your dog in, as the heat levels can kill him/her; instead, the safest option is to leave with your dog and place him in the crate. Once he’s settled in, you can return to the fireworks and have fun.

Edit TipsIf you intend on attending a party offering alcoholic drinks, it's recommended that your dog be fed, crated, etc. before going to the party.If you crate your dog, choose a metal one; fabric can be destroyed by stressed dogs.A quick research of dog body language and foods poisonous to dogs is recommended beforehand.Stay calm and alert throughout the day.Petting your dog may serve to calm him, but it is generally only recommended when the dog is calm, as petting him when he is anxious can reward the behavior of being anxious.Bringing your dog to an event in a hot time of day is not recommended if the dog has a short muzzle (such as a Pug) or a thick coat (such as a Husky).

You shouldn't judge a book by its cover and the same rings true for video games. The box art displayed on game cases can be dull and uninspired, beautiful and sublime, or in cases such as Bioshock Infinite and The Last of Us, controversial; but it's just a cover.

With the next generation of gaming drawing ever closer, PSU member The Black Wolf is running a box art tournament to celebrate the images that have represented our favourite games this generation and to determine the ultimate PS3 cover art.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 would have been a ‘painful’ experience had it been released on current-generation formats, creator Michel Ancel has said.

Speaking with Gamereactor in regards to whether the sequel would hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Ancel replied, “Beyond Good & Evil 2 was possible [on current-gen] but it’d be painful. It’s always possible to do anything on any kind of console, but sometimes you need to spend your energy not on the optimizations or things like that.”

The follow-up to the 2003 cult hit was first teased five years ago during a Ubisoft event, though little else has been seen on the game since. However, it has been known for some time that the game would be released for next-generation consoles.

Avalanche Studios has confirmed that its forthcoming Mad Max video game will feature a protagonist with an Australian accent.

This may not seem like a big deal at first, but for many fans of the franchise, Avalanche’s original decision to eschew Max’s aussie heritage and plump for a generic U.S. voiceover came as disappointment.

As a result, gamers started out a petition to have Max’s accent changed, and it seems to have paid off.

Writing on Twitter, Avalanche’s Christofer Sundberg commented, “Attn. fans who want Max to have an Aussie accent in #MadMaxGame : It shall be so. We admire your loyalty. You have been heard.”

Mad Max was unveiled during E3 and will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 in 2014.

Preparing the Oreo Cookies1Crush the Oreo cookies. Place the cookies in a large zipped bag. Use a rolling pin or your hands to crush the cookies into good sized chunks.

2Add the ice cream to a blender.

3Add the cookies to the blender. Continue breaking cookies, if needed.

Preparing the Shake1Measure and pour the rest of the ingredients.

2Blend the ingredients. Pulse the blender a few times on high until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed well.

If needed, stop the blender and scrape the insides before blending it again.

Serving the Shake1Serve the shake. Top two cold glasses with the mixture and add an extra Oreo cookie on top for a garnish.

Phone billing option added to PlayStation Network

A new feature has been added to the PlayStation Network that allows you to pay for content on the PlayStation Store using your mobile phone. When funds need to be added to your wallet, a prompt will appear asking to enter your phone number.

The option is now present on using the Store on PlayStation 3 or on the Sony Entertainment Network web store. Once you’ve entered your number, a text message will be sent to your phone asking for confirmation by responding with the letter “Y”.

The charge from the PlayStation Store will show up on your next mobile phone bill or will be debited against your pre-paid account.

Gordon Thornton, vice president of Sony Network Entertainment Europe (SNEE), commented on the reasoning behind adding this feature:

"We are always looking at new ways to give our customers more choice in terms of content, accessibility and payment methods, and are pleased to be able to offer the option of mobile operator billing, which are becoming more and more popular."

Square planning Kingdom Hearts stage for D23 event

The Kingdom Hearts franchise will receive its own stage event at Japan’s D23 Expo in October, Square Enix has announced.

Dubbed the Kingdom Hearts Limited Stage, the event will be fronted by series director Tetsuya Nomura and executive producer Shinji Hashimoto, and includes appearances from some of the Disney-themed RPG’s voice actors.

Fans can expect chatter on the secret stories within the Kingdom Hearts universe, as well as other events that you can only experience at D23.

With Nomura-san having previously expressed his interest in divulging more information on Kingdom Hearts III at the event and TGS, we can hopefully expect some fresh details on the game to drop there.

D23’s Kingdom Hearts bash kicks off on October 14, running 15:00 – 16:00 Japan time.

Kingdom Hearts III was announced at E3 for next-generation consoles, with the compilation Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMIX due out exclusively on PlayStation 3 in September.

How do you regain trust that has slipped away because of little things that niggle you or cause you to feel he isn't as responsive or attentive as perhaps he ought to be? In this article, you'll have the chance to explore the ways in which you can learn to trust your boyfriend and move into another stage of your relationship.

Paranoia over the fact that you don't trust him will can cause you to deepen your mistrust rather than to want to seek some valid answers. Whatever has happened to set off your suspicions, it's more than likely that you don't have the full story or perhaps you're not even seeing all the relevant events properly. Before you discard all trust, it is important to do some thinking, questioning, and following up, to get the story straight. Focus on what is at stake and the importance of the relationship, no matter how hard it may seem and no matter how tempting it is to prefer assuming a negative viewpoint of him.

3Think about your past relationships. Have they ended in heartbreak, mistrust, and anger? If so, you may be primed to be suspicious about a subsequent boyfriend's motives. Having someone betray your trust hurts, and can carry on into your next relationship. If this is the case, talk to your boyfriend about your past relationship (or relationships) and tell him what happened and why it hurt you. Not only will doing this increase your trust in him, he will be able to understand what lies behind your paranoia. Depending on the type of guy he is, he may even be able to help you work through the challenge.

If you're stuck in an emotional situation where you don't feel that you're able to move past the hurt, this can be a good time to speak with a therapist or counselor in order to mend the wounds of any past relationship that might have caused you to feel paranoid or anxious about current relationships.4Talk to him about why you don't trust him. Use tact, but be honest with him. Guys prefer blatant honesty to constantly avoiding, embellishing, or twisting the subject. If you talk to him about it, not only will it make you feel better, but his trust in you will be likely t increase because he'll feel that, even though you don't trust him, you had to courage to come out and talk to him about it anyway. Whatever his response, your courage in speaking so clearly makes you a very good and honest person.

5Go the extra mile to increase his trust in you. Be honest, caring, understanding, and trustworthy yourself, before asking someone to do the same. Don't gossip about him and don't be condescending or negative about him to other people; it will get back to him and will only make things harder for you to fix. Open up a little more yourself; this is especially important if you've been keeping your concerns and most intimate self from him.

Keep the line of communication open, and let him know what is going on in your life. You don't have to tell him about every time that you stub your toe, or what you ate for breakfast yesterday, but do tell him things. Tell him funny (or sad) stories about your past and encourage him to do the same.6Learn to let little things go. This step is one that is easily overlooked but is vital. Remember that there may be genuine, non-harmful, and even laugh-worthy reasons for why things have happened that caused you to mistrust him. What is important to a guy may not be what is important to a girl, and he may simply have thought nothing of it, while you're busy blowing it all out of proportion. A simple request to explain the situation will suffice in that case. Forgetfulness is a big one with many guys. It's unintentional but it can be infuriating. For example, maybe he just forgot to tell you that he was going out with his friends the same night you wanted to borrow his car. Maybe you didn't tell him, so there was no reason for him to even get that there was an issue; even if you did tell him, maybe it was when he was focused on doing something and he just didn't hear you properly. Whatever the reason, find it out from him before assuming it from within. You'll know whether or not the answers you're given ring true and you can work from there. If they do ring true, let go, let go, let go! Give him the benefit of the doubt and don't assume that he is cheating on you or even not telling you things.

Remember that your boyfriend is only human, and will forget things without meaning to. If it was important, remind him gently instead of cussing him out. If it wasn't important, let it go and remember that the little thing fall-outs that go un-blamed can prevent the enormous fight that would have resulted otherwise.7Hold yourself to the same standard before unleashing your anger. Have you always remembered absolutely everything? Do you always listen with absolute clarity? Do you like it when someone suggests that you're not to be trusted? It is important to be compassionate in a relationship and that includes placing yourself into the situation he's in before you approach it. At all times, remain calm and level-headed; shouting and berating any person does nothing to change the situation and can simply deepen the problems.

8Take the time to create a firm and lasting bond with your boyfriend. Go on fun and romantic dates with each other, engage in activities outside of the bedroom, and don't be serious all of the time. Happier relationships are ones in which there is a lot of room to move, a lot of laughter, and a great deal of trust. In fact, the more trust, often the tighter the bond you'll create. The less trust, the more likely your relationship will end up laden with suspicion and dysfunctional behaviors. Embrace your inner (and more trusting) child, recognize the little, sweet things in life, and help your boyfriend to do the same:

Go to the park and have him push you on the swings.Have a pillow or tickle fight.Go to a restaurant and share a plate or a drink with each other.Visit a zoo and have fun looking at all the animals.Tease him, ever so gently, and let him tease you back. Couples that can handle teasing one another in a fun, kind way, tend to be couples that can handle each other's criticism and enjoy each other's love.9Learn the art of small talk. Sometimes telling each other "I love you, I love you, I love you" becomes a little too demanding and one-way. And too many deep and meaningful can make each of you resent hanging around each other for fear of when the "next big crisis" is about to crop up. Brighten up your time together by indulging in small talk as a way of filling in the moments where you're just spending time together in each other's company, without expecting anything of one another.

10Last but not least, realize what you gain by loving in trust. While trust does expose us to the potential of another person's betrayal, the opposite is worse – to never trust a person and to never learn what it feels like to have that trust reciprocated and blossom would be unthinkable. Acknowledge that trust encompasses fear of being hurt and yet understand that not being trustful will end up harming your happiness, rather than guarding it. And trust can protect your health; research has shown that people with greater trust are healthier and more humorous![1] Realize that trust doesn't only let go of the other person, it also lets go of you, opening yourself to the possibilities that this time, you have connected with someone who will reciprocate the trust you've placed in him.

The latest issue of Japan’s Famitsu magazine has confirmed that Resident Evil 6 will be re-released in Japan in the guise of a Complete Edition.

Capcom’s zombie actioner will be released as Resident Evil 6 Special Package and will hit Japan on August 8, retailing for 3,990 yen. But just what do you get? Well, aside from the full game, you’ll receive all DLC as well as full Japanese voice acting.

Resident Evil 6 was originally released in October last year and garnered mix reviews from critics. The game sees returning heroes Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy combating a viral outbreak in the U.S. and China, while newcomer Jake Muller – son of series baddie Albert Wesker - embarks on his own quest in Eastern Europe.
