I’m busy this week updating my website, blog, and shopping cart. Since I got so far behind on blogging all my fall sessions, I’ll just let you know when my website is updated with new images from last year. (It’s only been 3 years since I’ve updated my galleries! That’s not TOO bad is it?). In the meantime, wanted to share what Austin’s been up to almost every day for the past week….he has discovered a patch of dirt in our backyard and loves to bury his cars, then dig them up. He’s such a boy. Sydney – she pretends to harvest a little “vegetable” garden of sticks and makes “snowmen” out of mud balls. Don’t have pictures of her yet, but I got these of Austin the other day…

The Belly Series…

Some of you may have seen this when I posted it on Facebook. This is a new program I am offering for newly expecting mommies. I’m calling it the Belly Series – although I am open for a cuter name. Any ideas? I’ll tell you what…I’ll give a $50 gift certificate to someone that can suggest a winning name. Just leave a comment here or on facebook. Ok – back to the collage. I actually received a postcard of this type of collage years ago and have had it sitting on my desk this whole time. I thought it was such an amazing creation, but was never quite sure how to pull it off logistically. As luck would have it, the photographer who’s card I’ve been holding onto came and spoke to our local photography guild back in May. His topic was maternity photography. He went over step by step how to create a program that would allow me to create a collage like this for my client. I was so excited that night! I knew I could do it – I just needed a model. A friend from church was expecting so I asked if she’d be willing to be my guinea pig. I’m so glad she agreed! What a beautiful model she was! Here is the finished product:

Just another rainy Sunday…

So for the locals reading this…do you remember that weekend in October when it rained non-stop for 3 days straight? I had to reschedule several photo sessions that weekend because of the rain. But the session for this family could not be rescheduled. My client’s brother and his family were in town just for that weekend and were only available for a group session on that particular Sunday afternoon. We had decided the night before that even if it was raining, we’d meet anyway! Sure enough, it was raining. So I set up some lighting in their sitting room and used their beautiful couch as a prop for everyone. I LOVE how these turned out (given the circumstances!). The kids were a lot of fun…and so were the adults. Huge thanks to both of these families for having me over despite the bad weather!

Love the natural smiles here…I think I said something funny about one of the dads to get them to laugh…

9 months already!

Meet baby O – he is one of my Little Miracles Collection members (which just means I get to see him LOTS during his first year!). He is also the 4th child of a very good friend of mine. We’ve known each other since we were both newlyweds (before all these kiddos!). I can’t believe her youngest is 9 months old already. He stopped by my studio a few weeks ago with his three older siblings for a Christmas card shot. I’m only going to share one…the rest are for the card.

I had a moment of pause during this part of the session….it really is amazing how fast time goes by once you become a parent. #1 big sister was one of my first clients when I started by business…she was 2 I think. Now she’s 10….and has 3 younger siblings! To my sweet friend…you have such a beautiful family and are so blessed! I so admire the woman and mom you have become. (hugs!)

Ok, now for some more cuteness. Little man did not disappoint! Take a looksie…

Ok – one more post before I call it a night. If you know the clients I’ve been posting about the past few days, you may have noticed I’m going down the list of sessions in alphabetical order (that’s the easiest way to do it since I’m so behind). This next one is actually from this summer. Gwen Diaz is an amazing woman of God. She is a wife, mother of four grown boys (including Christian music artist Johnny Diaz), grandmother to I’m not sure how many grandchildren, author, speaker, and Bible study leader. I’ve had the privilege of being a part of her Mothers of Preschoolers Bible studies for many years now, and before that heard her speak on many occasions for women’s retreats and the like. I’ve read several of her books…and to say she is amazing is really an understatement. God has blessed her in so many ways.

Well, this summer she asked if I could do some new headshots for her. I felt so honored that she would ask me as I think the world of her! We played chicken with the rain that night, but we won! I had so much fun spending the hour with her – using all my toddler tricks to get a good laugh and smile. Yes, they work for adults too! Here are just a few favorites:

I met this sweet family on a Monday morning in October for some family and belly images as well as some of their cute daughter. Just a few weeks later, Mom gave birth to an adorable baby boy, making this little girl a big sister! As you can tell, she was so proud of her new role. They are also my newest members of the Little Miracle Collection, so I get to see them a couple more times in the next year. Yay for me!

As I try to catch up on all my blog posts, I’d like to share with you another favorite family of mine (can all my clients be my favorites?). This was little man’s 1 year session. Hard to believe he was only 1 considering how fast he can run around! He had already been walking for a couple of months, so I had a hard time keeping up with him. But I did! We started with some family shots, followed by his Bama outfit, and finished up with the cutest Etsy find ever! Mom staged the whole thing with the outfit, balloons, and cake. He did NOT like his cake – but he was cute anyway! Enjoy!

One of my other mini sessions from October was a good friend of mine and regular client. I joke that she should earn “frequent flyer miles” or something for the number of times I’ve photographed her and her beautiful children. She is on her 4th Little Miracles Collection baby plan! We met on a Friday to get some updated images of her older children. Just 4 days later she had baby #4. So I’ve included some of his newborn session from a couple of weeks later as well. Enjoy!

And this one…gracious! I could just eat him up he’s so cute! He gave me so many expressions I had a hard time choosing my favorites…

One of my mini sessions in October was a blast from the past for me. The last time I had photographed this family was when big sister was just 6 months old. And now she’s 3 and has a 2 year old brother! I have a 2 year old little boy myself, so believe me when I say this little guy (and girl) were sooooo easy to photograph. They both posed and did exactly what I asked them to do, something I don’t experience often with 2 year olds. Big thank you to this mom – your kids are so adorable!
