This is our final posting for the Prosser Launch blog. We invite you to keep updated on what’s happening through the Prosser Campus webpage.
This coming Sunday, Sept. 27th will be the last “practice.” I hesitate to call this a practice because if you joined us last Sunday, “practice” included live music, bulletins, announcements and the sermon. God truly did show up!
So, this Sunday, following the music, Dave Dawson will be delivering the message “live.” And yes we are printing more bulletins (we ran out last week).
Following the service tear-down (about 12:30pm) we will be gathering at 2002 Benson Ave for a BBQ. Meat, buns & drinks will be provided. You can bring a salad or dessert to share. YOU are invited, and please, feel free to bring a friend.
Last Sunday morning went GREAT! God’s people came ready to serve; coffee & donuts were ready to be eaten; and the equipment all worked. GOD IS GOOD!!!
We spent time in prayer and worship, and then we accomplished a complete run through of the sermon. I am finally realizing the importance of these “run throughs.” A football team doesn’t just suit up and play a big game without first practicing, and neither should we.
SO—This Sunday is the next practice. AND we are stepping it up to get ready for the opening of Oct 4. This week will bring live worship, greeters with bulletins, ushers with a smile, and of course the sermon. We plan on doing the complete service and practice as if it is an actual game. That is except the Children’s Ministry, as we have an unplanned bump in the road there. And that’s OK, because God is good!
This “practice” will start at 10am, so if you still haven’t found your spot with Bethel Prosser come check it out.

We’ve all heard that the Prosser campus will launch on October 4th at 10am at the Princess Theatre in downtown Prosser! So now what? Well time is ticking away with lots to do. So I thought I would list some other dates I’d like you to know about.
September 13th at 8:00 a.m. – Pre-launch Service at the Princess Theatre. This will be more of a setting up of the ministry areas (children, hospitality, greeting/ushering) as well as all the projectors and the stage areas. Sorry, but no childcare is available on this day.
September 20 & 27th at 8:00 a.m. – Pre-launch Services at the Princess Theatre. This will be a time of actually setting up and doing a Sunday morning service. Come on in and check out an actual service before we open to the public. Services will start at 10 am.
Every Sunday Night through Sept. 27th at 6:00 p.m. – Prayer walks through Prosser. Meet in front of the Princess Theatre.
The BIG DATE! OCTOBER 4th at 10:00 a.m. – Opening Service at the Princess Theatre. Share the morning with an unchurched friend, neighbor or co-worker. Coffee, snacks and, of course, the Word of God will be waiting for you!
Join us at the Princess Theatre, Sunday, Aug. 30th at 6:00 p.m.
October 4th is the Prosser Campus opening day, and it is closing in fast. So if you are still wondering where you fit in, or still need some more information, then this Sunday night at 6pm is for you.
Pastor Dave Bechtel has recorded a message specifically for this night, and I must say, “ I AM EXCITED”.
Prosser will have a table in the foyer at Bethel Richland this Sunday morning, also. Come by and say hi!
Till next time,
Jim Hopwood
This Sunday night you are invited to join in as we walk the streets of Prosser and pray for our city.
It all begins at 6 p.m. in front of the Princess Theatre. From there we will disperse to walk, talk and pray.
Feel free to bring a friend. Hope to see you there.
October 4th to be exact! Time of service is yet to be determined but will be Sunday mornings at 9AM or 9:30AM or thereabouts (a decision will be made on that in the next week). We have secured the Princess Theatre in downtown Prosser as the location. PLUS, and this is a praise, we will be able to use the restaurant space adjacent to the Theatre for Children’s Ministry (this is where the Pizzeria Venti was before closing down).
The time is closing in fast with still much to do. If you want to be a part of this exciting opportunity in the Lower Valley please give me a call at the Richland Campus 628-0150 or at 786-2063 (this is the # for the Bethel Prosser office). We are still in need of people interested in ushering, hosts, children’s workers, set-up & tear down, and technology. If you are not sure where you might fit in, give me a call and let’s talk.
Also, we are meeting for prayer each Sunday night at 6pm at 1331 Prosser Ave; Prosser. Feel free to stop by.
On August 30 (Sunday night) at 6pm at the Princess Theatre we will be getting together for an information/questions & answer time. So if you are just wanting to check this thing out and see if it might work for you and your family that would be a great time.
Till next time,
Jim Hopwood

Jim Hopwood has been hired to direct Bethel’s Prosser campus. Stay tuned for an introduction of Jim.
The events began with a huge tailgate party at the Dust Devils game. Kevin and Angela Loresch and Keith and Linda McNeely know how to tailgate with the best of them! Over 50 of us huddled in the Dust Devils parking lot and did the All-American thing together! We all got to know each other a bit better and took opportunity to touch people’s lives by getting to know them while handing out a handfull of donated game tickets, hotdogs & soda. The weekend didn’t stop here, though! Sunday morning at 7a over 70 of us gathered at the Fairchild Cinemas to set up equipment for the first time. Starbucks coffee and Yokes Donuts greeted us as we converged on the property. Last minute details were shared then we took time to PRAY and sing to our God who made all of this possible.
Outstanding teamwork made the morning a great success. An added blessing was all of the Tech equipment worked as planned-Praise the LORD! We ended the morning led by the band in Worship and prayer. It was an amazing morning.
So what do we know now? Teams are great! Equipment is in place. All of this is great, we continue to PRAY. Along the way we have prayed that God would send us into West Pasco, not with teams and equipment, but with His people burdened for people to know Christ – to MAKE DISCIPLES!
