BetterVisitors is getting great reviews from DownloadReviews.org. Here are some of the comments from their blog:

“I almost don’t want to give it a good review so that no one else will find out about them. I tried it, always trying new ways of getting new traffic. And this really did work for me. Adwords is too expensive now, and too competitive. This is way cheaper and it brought me sales. I love it! I started with the 6,000 visitor package. It took a few days for the account to be set up and for the traffic to start, but I made my money back in the first day it began. Next week, I am getting the next size up and so one from there. Great deal. So worthwhile.”

Praise like this makes all our hard work worthwhile!

Have you noticed how sometimes things just don’t work? Like trying to log on to a site, or finding that a site doesn’t update properly?

You probably need to clear your cache. It’s one of the number one customer service problems we run into at BetterVisitors – people trying to view their campaigns and getting stuck.

The cache is where older versions of a page are kept on your computer so that when you go back to a page, it will load quicker by using the version you have stored. The problem is that sometimes you need to update the page; you want the newer version instead of the older one.

In that case, you want to clear your cache. Here’s how:

Note: If you are not sure what browser you are using you can click on the “Help” menu at the top of your browser and then click “About”. This will open a new window that will provide you with the browser type and version you are running.

To clear your cache and cookies in Internet Explorer 6.0 please follow these steps.

 1. Click “Tools”, then “Internet Options”.
2. Click the “Delete Cookies” button.
3. A pop-up confirmation box will appear. Click “OK”.
4. Click the “Delete Files” button.
5. A pop-up confirmation box will appear. Place a check in the box beside “Delete all off line content” and click “OK”.
6. Click “OK” to close the “Internet Options” screen.

To clear your cache and cookies in Internet Explorer 7.0 please follow these steps.

 1. Click “Tools”, then “Internet Options”.
2. Click the “Delete” button under Browsing History.
3. Click the “Delete Cookies” button.
4. A pop-up confirmation box will appear. Click “Yes”.
5. Click the “Delete Files” button.
6. A pop-up confirmation box will appear. Click “Yes”.
7. Click the “Close” button the the Delete Browsing History window.
8. Click “OK” to close the “Internet Options” screen.

To clear your cache and cookies in Mozilla Firefox 1.5 please follow these steps.

 1. Click “Tools”, then “Options”.
2. Click on the “Privacy” Icon.
3. Click the “Clear” button for Cookies.
4. Click the “Clear” button for Cache.
5. Click the “OK” button to close the options menu.

To clear your cache and cookies in Mozilla Firefox 2.0 please follow these steps.

 1. Click “Tools”, then “Options”.
2. Click on the “Privacy” Icon.
3. Click the “Clear Now” button.
4. Place a check mark next to “Cookies” and “Cache” and remove the check from all other items you wish to keep.
5. Click the “Clear Private Data Now” button.
6. Click the “OK” button to close the options menu.

To clear your cache and cookies in Safari please follow these steps.

 1. Click “Safari”, then “Empty Cache”.
2. A pop-up confirmation box will appear. Click “Empty”.
3. Click “Safari”, then “Preferences”.
4. Click on the “Bookmarks” Icon.

(If your campaign has expired, you can still save! Just order a new campaign and add this product afterwards. That way you get the same discount as people with current campaigns.)

I’m happy to announce that BetterVisitors has fully implemented Google Checkout! We’ve had it for a while, but now it’s our processor of choice.

Google Checkout is a great experience for our customers, and a no-brainer if you already have a Google account (for instance, for gmail). If you don’t have one yet, it’s easy to sign up, and gives you access to all kinds of great Google tools, like Google Webmaster Tools.

Aspiring entrepreneurs, take note: be very careful when using PayPal for credit card processing. We had a lot of problems with PayPal, because they do NOTHING to stop credit card fraud. BetterVisitors customers can still use PayPal, but only to pay with a PayPal account, we are not using it (and NEVER will) for credit cards anymore.

The new BetterVisitors system allows sites with pop-ups or automatically-starting sound. A lot of people have been asking for this, we’re finally able to announce it. These campaigns cost a little more, but if your site uses sound to sell, or if you earn revenue from pop-ups, we have a solution for you.

When you configure your options for a campaign, there a dropdown box that lets you choose a straight (no pop-up) campaign or one that has either popups or sound that comes on without the user clicking anything. You can have both pop-ups and sound if you want.

Every time you order a BetterVisitors campaign, we send you a username and password to our stats site. It’s a convenient way to track your visitors and analyze your traffic.

But how many visitors are you actually getting? Does your web counter show more than we show, or less? Occasionally, someone writes to us complaining that their web counter isn’t showing as many visitors as the BetterVisitors tracking area. (No-one ever writes when their counter shows more visitors though!)

We can verify visitors by examining raw server logs, but sometimes people are still not convinced, preferring the results of their hit counters. They’re not alone. According to a New York Times article today, the definitions of hits, visits, and page views are flexible, leading large differences in visitor counts and to major disagreements between advertisers and publishers.

It turns out that even in the high-flying world of big media, everyone has a different way of counting. That’s where BetterVisitors has an advantage. Because we know exactly how many visitors we send, we’re very comfortable with our stats and know for a fact that they’re reliable. It’s just one more area where a small company with real people can do better than the corporate giants.
