It is my husband’s birthday next week (still not used to calling him that) and I thought perhaps I should get him a subscription to this magazine.  He needs to get into the marriage groove sooner rather than later, this could be just the thing he needs.  *wink*

I put this one off deliberately because a will is basically made null and void when you get married, so it seemed pointless to update my will before that.

My will needs are actually more basic now than what they were prior to being married.  My previous will was written when I had my son and I needed to ensure that he would be cared for financially and physically/emotionally in the event of my untimely death.  So that one was quite complicated as I didn’t have a spouse who would take immediate care of this.  As a result I have life insurance, death and disability benefits through my superannuation and several other ‘back-up plans’ that have been in place to take care of my son if for some reason I no longer could.

So for my update, I went the really simple option.  $25 and I was done.  I could even specify what preferences I had for my funeral, such as my wish to be cremated and to have buddhist influences for my funeral in preference to a more traditional ‘christian’ ritual.  It’s quite a weird feeling thinking about ones funeral, I wouldn’t say it scared me, or worried me, just a little odd.

Glad to have that one ticked off my list!

As you all know, I am a massive fan of indexed… but there is a new kid on the block that is totally tickling my fancy, so I thought I would share the love (click on the pic to visit the site).

So a girl was out with friends having drinks on King St (in Toronto). This guy approaches her and won’t leave her alone – keeps saying how *elegant* she is. She finally gives in and hands the guy her business card. The attached is an MP3 file of not one, but TWO voicemails this guy left her.

This goes down in the history books – especially the second voice mail. Ladies: this is what’s out there…. So have a listen…and a belly-laugh, and thank your lucky stars you are either single, or not with this guy!

Today is one of those days when I just need to remind myself why I do it…  *Give Me Strength*

One of my dearest friends has been having difficulty falling pregnant, and last Friday, after more than a year of trying every which way, it was discovered that her eggs simply aren’t letting her husband’s swimmers in.  In some ways, that is kind of a relief – at least they know what the problem is now and can take steps to overcome that.

I particularly love that they are both keeping a sense of humour in the midst of so much emotional upheaval… which is why I think they will laugh at this very timely episode of Cyanide and Happiness.  And why I will continue to make jokes at her husband’s expense about his history of “breaking and entering” as a misguided youth.

Ever since I first stepped foot into Paris, I have been convinced that I was meant to be born there, or that maybe I was but in a past life.  It’s one of those places, like Melbourne, that when I first wandered its streets, I felt instantly at home.  Because of that, I’ve been back a few times, each time taking in more of the Parisian lifestyle and sometimes even looking at balconies and wondering what it would be like to live in that little apartment… *sigh*

Adam had never been to Paris, despite living across the channel in London for over two years.  Absolute blasphemy if you ask me!  I’ve always wanted to take him there and so it was fitting that our last couple of days and nights of our honeymoon were spent in this phenomenal city.

He was just gobsmacked.  Despite me telling him that there was literally a gallery on every street corner, he thought I was exaggerating and he just kept exclaiming “oh my god, this is amazing, I can’t believe we only have two days here!”  After the first 24 hours in Paris, he looked at me and said “you have not stopped smiling since we got here” – ah yes, that is the affect Paris has on me!

We stayed in the absolutely incredible Hotel du Petit Moulin in the Marais quarter.  It was a once-in-a-lifetime hotel experience in one of the most expensive cities in the world… each room individually designed by Christian Lacroix and some of the most sensational service we had all trip.

My camera died shortly after arriving there (grrrr), so I only have a few shots and since the Eiffel Tower was one of the first places we went to, that’s all I have!  I have so many photos of this incredible monument, so this time I was looking for the angle that no one else usually gets.  Here are some of my faves.

It’s crappy quality, but what the hell, I’m proud of us for pulling this off!
