It's the 2nd day of the Enhance Community Quarantine, and maybe most of you are making the most out of the situation to rest or to catch up to the latest Netflix craze.

I do agree that we should take this opportunity to relax in some ways but I also believe that this is also an opportunity for us to better ourselves.

Here are some of the activities you can do to make the BEST out of the COVID-19 situation.

1) Read the books you got from Book Sales

Whether it's from the Manila Internation Book Fair or Big Bad Wolf, most probably you still got books that are still in plastic cover.

Now it's time to take the 2nd step in the investment of knowledge, which is reading and learning from these books that you've got.

You got all the time that you need and it's a good opportunity to digest the information from each of these books. Start with the ones that you love just to get the momentum of reading then put it down after 1 or two chapters to get a breather.

2) Take care of your body

It's so easy to overeat these days and I think part of it is boredom or it's just so easy to munch on food when you're watching TV / Netflix, or playing video games all day.

I'm guilty of this too but as of this writing, I decided that I would get over this Enhance Community Quarantine as a healthier version of myself or even just maintain my health level before this situation started.

A lot of things got disrupted and that includes your eating habits and workout routine and you're in no way alone in this struggle but now it's time for us to get back on track and take better care of our bodies.

In my case, I was doing intermittent fasting before the quarantine started and I'm struggling or let's just say I kinda let go of the eating discipline.

Like what I've shared above, it's time for us to get back on track. If you were able to maintain your health routines even after the quarantine started then good for you but for those who didn't, it's never too late.

The workouts that I do can be done from home and you can see the resources that I use at the bottom of this blog

https://iambeyondalpha.com/blogs/beyond-alpha-mentality/3-surefire-steps-to-be-beach-ready

Personally, these are the simple things that I do to take care of my body

a) Eat right - which means as much as possible no junk foods. Vegetables and fruits are very much welcome. A good rule of thumb is that the less processed a food is, the healthier.

Food is our body's fuel and the quality of fuel we take in affects how our bodies perform

b) Exercise properly - You must know that you have a proper form when doing your exercises. You can easily search for guides through youtube on how to properly execute exercises.

A good workout routine that you can do at home are Tabata exercises. In my opinion, these routines are very efficient in terms of time and space. Minimal space required and a 15 - 30 mins of workout would get your heart pumping and body sweating.

c) Rest well - developing your body is a cycle of breaking down (exercise) and building (rest), that's why you must have a good quality of sleep. The food that you eat serves as the building block as well.

A good tip is that you should make your room as dark as possible and cold enough for you to relax.

3) Learn a new hobby

Maybe you wanted to try baking, cooking, playing the piano, or a guitar. This is the time to explore those interests.

No one is stopping you to enjoy (Netflix, video games), while this situation is ongoing but when this ends and you come out of it as a better person, your future self will thank you for it!

"Pwede na" a phrase that can be translated to good enough or that will do, depending on the context.

I decided to write about this topic because recently I met someone, who like 97% of men is making a very critical mistake when it comes to relationships and attraction.

Let's call him Ji, and Ji like 97% of men are making a grave mistake of trying to buy his way through a woman's heart.

This is the social conditioning we've gone through for such a long time and although a lot of dating and relationship coaches are already breaking this myth, it's still very apparent that 97 - 99 % of men still believe that they can buy their way through a woman's heart.

I'm no way dissing the fact that you need to work on your career, business or any other source of income that would yield you a comfortable life. I do even suggest that you work on those things and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Developing your career and all other aspects of your life help build your confidence and character. It goes hand in hand with you being able to enjoy the byproducts of your perseverance. (i.e. earning enough to live a comfortable life)

Let's get down to business, and I'll share it with you straight up, it's not these byproducts (i.e. money, cars, houses, etc.) that attract women (yes there are exceptions) but it's your character and self-worth or value as a person.

Yes, some women may try to be practical about it but, being practical and attraction are very different.

Ok, let's simplify further my friends. It's not your money that attracts women, it's your vibe, centeredness, and confidence.

Going back to Ji, he was trying to woe a woman who was having marital problems. He was trying to take advantage of the situation by being a " Knight in Shining Armor" or a "shoulder to cry on".

He's showing signs of low self-esteem because he believes that that is the only way for him to be in a relationship with this woman.

Let's get this straight gentleman. The way we approach and think about relationships is very different from the way women do. It simply means that you can't "logically" convince a woman to be attracted to you.

"I'm rich, I'll take care of you, I'll love your kid/s, I'm loyal/faithful, yadi yada yada. These are the usual messages that men are trying to send to the woman they like through their actions, hoping that one day they would realize it, and just "decide" to fall in love with you (it looks good and movies, and other media, but it's very different in reality).

The bottom line is, love yourself first. Take care of your body by working out and eating healthy. Take care of your mind by continuously learning. Attraction will come naturally to people who love and take care of themselves.

Check our other Blogs here Subscribe to this blog's RSS feed using https://iambeyondalpha.com/blogs/beyond-alpha-mentality.atom</itunes:subtitle><itunes:author>noemail@noemail.org (Paul Brian Moreno)</itunes:author><itunes:summary>"Pwede na" a phrase that can be translated to good enough or that will do, depending on the context. (i.e. earning enough to live a comfortable life) Let's get down to business, and I'll share it with you straight up, it's not these byproducts (i.e. money, cars, houses, etc.) that attract women (yes there are exceptions) but it's your character and self-worth or value as a person. Yes, some women may try to be practical about it but, being practical and attraction are very different. Ok, let's simplify further my friends.
Before we talk about what this change is...

what does a "better man" even mean?

In my opinion, a better man means being able to accomplish the things that you weren't able to accomplish before by improving every aspect of your life.

It's about being healthy enough to be able to do all the physical activities that you love. Having the mental strength to face and overcome failures and setbacks. Last but not the least, having the financial capacity to cover all your monthly expenses and at the same time having enough to spend for some "wants".

Now is this is similar to your definition of a "better man" as well?

If yes, then hop on as I share with you what is this change that you need to do and how you can start this change.

Though this change that I'm talking about is "SIMPLE", it takes time, practice, dedication, and continuous motion. It means that it's an ongoing process. You might reach a certain level of improvement but you have to keep becoming better to continuously reap the benefits.

Without further ado, this change that I'm talking about is...

"drum roll"

Dressing Well!

You might be thinking, after all the build-up, that's it?

Yes, that's it. Like what I've told you earlier, it's so simple that most men take it for granted. It's so simple that you can even start today.

Let me share with you the story of why I believe that dressing well is important.

In my third year at my corporate job, I got tired of getting passed over for promotion. I dedicated my time learning on how to get my first promotion and a major part of the lessons I've learned is that you have "dress to impress", "look the part", we can call it whatever we want but it simply means we have to learn how to dress well.

I believe that dressing well is an investment, not just towards your career but to your personal life as well. It's a subliminal way of sending the message that you know what you do and you pay attention to details.

It's a form of self-love and respect and it's also a way of showing your respect to the people that you meet and work with.

Now, the question is how do we begin this process of dressing well?

1) Tailor Swift!

It's time for you going to a tailor. Whether if it's a "modesta" (Filipino word for a female tailor), "sastre" (Filipino word for a male tailor) from the tailor shop at the "kanto" (corner block), or the alteration shops at the mall, you have to START bringing your ill-fitting clothes and have it adjusted for your specific body type.

To find the most "sulit"(bang for the buck) among the shops near me, what I did was to bring a long sleeve to each of the shops that I was testing out to find out which one has the best craftsmanship versus the price.

The shop that I trust with my alterations and custom made suits and shirts is Exclusively His Tailoring

Adjustment would range from Php 50 - Php 200, a very affordable investment that would increase your "pogi points" 2 to 5 x(times) depending on the quality of the tailoring.

After your long sleeves are done, get your short sleeves adjusted as well then your pants(jeans, slacks, etc.)

With your pants, I suggest that you have it tapered. The "mananahi"s call it "baston". Use that term and they'll know what to do :).

Our goal here is for your clothes to have a better silhouette without sacrificing comfort. It means that there shouldn't be excess fabric but you should still have freedom of movement.

It doesn't matter what your body type is, as long as your clothes fit you well you'll look much better than before.

Always remember that FIT is KING!

2) The PURGE!

Look at your closet and separate the items that you no longer wear and those that you love wearing. Keep the clothes that you love and you may donate those that you don't.

A good rule of thumb that I follow when I purge my closet is that I ask myself, "do I feel confident when I wear this?" If the answer is no then it goes to the donation box.

3) Bureau of Customs!

After you experience the basic magic of a "modesta" and "sastre", It's for you to be amazed by their "superpower". It's time for you to indulge in custom made shirts (long and short sleeves) and even suits.

Beware, my friends, when you start going custom, it's hard to go back to off the rack clothes.

Imagine having clothing wherein you pick every detail, from the fabric, buttons, fit, etc. Clothing that was exclusively made for you. Yes, I wouldn't deny that it cost a bit more than an off the rack clothes but the confidence, comfort and "pogi points" that it brings is worth it.

Some tailor shops have their fabrics but if you want to choose from a variety, then it's time for you to visit fabric shops like Fabric Warehouse, or you may visit fabric meccas like Taytay.

Fabric hunting takes time and practice and it's also a matter of preference but as you go deeper into this process of dressing better you'll enjoy every step.

Most fabric sellers are very helpful and wouldn't mind giving you a recommendation on what fabric to get or how much you need depending on the purpose. Some sell on a per kg basis(Taytay) and some are on a per yard basis so if you're not sure about how much to get don't hesitate to ask away.

These are the basic steps to get you started in your journey to dress better and become a better man and if you have other suggestions or questions feel free to post it in the comments section below.

It's so simple that you can even start today. Let me share with you the story of why I believe that dressing well is important. In my third year at my corporate job, I got tired of getting passed over for promotion. These are the basic steps to get you started in your journey to dress better and become a better man and if you have other suggestions or questions feel free to post it in the comments section below. Check our other Blogs here Subscribe to this blog's RSS feed using https://iambeyondalpha.com/blogs/beyond-alpha-mentality.atom</itunes:summary>

Free sources of money inside your house

There was a point in my life when I was contemplating dropping out of college. Like most people who read the "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" of Robert Kiyosaki, I was so full of confidence that it's time for me to drop out and pursue the Entrepreneurial life.

Entrepreneurial life??? What does that even mean?

In my case, it means that I have to figure out a way to earn money and pay the bills without guaranteed cash flow (as a college student at that time, I was relying on my allowance). My cash flow would be cut off because, like any parents who believed in the value of traditional education, they wouldn't fund my pursuit of this so-called "Entrepreneurial Life".

One of my closest friends (same guy who lent me his copy of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", very nice strategy indeed) introduced me to the world of Direct Selling and Network Marketing. I took it as a sign that the "eye-opening" introduction coupled with the fact that I recently read one of the best selling books of all time that it's time for me to start my journey towards financial freedom.

Starting my financial freedom journey in 3...2...1...

But wait, I don't even have money to pay for the basic membership of the Networking Marketing company. My allowance was completely discontinued and I needed to find a way to fund myself.

The first idea that popped inside my head was to sell "unneeded" things inside the house. The first things that I can think of are old newspapers and magazines but if I'm in for the long haul I needed something that would have much more value and possibly have a continuous supply.

Here are some of the "unneeded" items that you can sell inside your house.

1) Broken appliance (i.e. electric fans, t.v.s, etc.)

These appliances that are taking up very valuable space inside your house could serve you much better if you sell them at your local junk shop.

Additional tip: For appliances with rotors e.g. electric fans. If you're patient enough you could learn how to get the copper inside the rotors and even the wires. You could sell this for much more rather than selling the electric the fans as is. During the time I was doing this, junk shops were buying copper at around Php 300+ per kilo.

2) Bond paper or notebook paper with black and white print

I found out that junk shops buy these at a much higher price compared to other types of paper. I learned that it's much more cost-efficient to recycle these compared to those that have colored prints.

All my school paper can serve me again but this time it's to fund my entrepreneurial life haha :)

3) The usuals ( i.e. newspaper, magazines, plastic containers, etc.)

If you're in doubt you can go bring it to your local junk shop and check if they're buying that stuff.

Additional tip: I was able to get free newspaper on every LRT, MRT station that I went to before ( I'm not sure if "LIBRE" still exist today)

If you want to do something you have to figure out a way to do it. If someone support or even helps you for that matter then be grateful. If not then you have to take charge and do your own thing.

What other things did we miss out on this list?

Write and share in the comments below

First of all, what does the Mamba Mentality even mean?

As Kobe summed it up in simple terms the "Mamba Mentality" simply means consistently trying to become the best version of yourself.

The keyword there my friends is "consistently".

There are days wherein we won't be as motivated as we need to be and we have to learn that it's DISCIPLINE and CONSISTENCY that would get us through those days.

Now how to do we adopt this mentality to help us achieve our own goals e.g. promotion, first sale, healthier body.

1) Being GRATEFUL for every time you wake up.

You have to begin. Reading all the blogs, listening to motivational talks, being inspired by the stories of other people is a good way to give that jumpstart but what matters is what we do after these jumpstarts.

It's our turn to create the life that we want by starting to do the things that need to be done.

It's a long road ahead and with the frailty of life we're not even sure if we'll be able to see it through the end but the fact that we started is already a good way of trying...

then we need

As I was drooling, he turned his eyes (leading me to do the same) towards the frying pan with overflowing cooking oil and he masterfully stirred what he was cooking making sure that I was already deep under his spell. To cut the story short, "manong" won. I went towards his cart took a stick from the engine oil container (converted into a fishball stick container through rigorous cleaning) and set my ceiling to Php 12 worth of balls.

Amazed with "manong"'s genjutsu "este" subtle sales technique, I asked him how much does a pack (1 kg) of each of the "ball" variant cost and he gladly replied and he even shared where I can buy it from Marikina Palengke (Market). At that time, I was thinking that if I would ever crave for street food again, I'll just buy from the "palengke" and cook it at home so that I can save money.

As I was savoring the last piece of my delicious snack, I asked: "manong" how many pieces of fishballs does each pack contain and he replied with "iba-iba pero hindi naman nagkakalayo since per kilo ang bentahan" (it's a different each time but the variance is negligible because it's being sold on a per kilo basis).

Take note guys because this surprised me that time as well, the most expensive part of the classic fishball cart is not the wood nor the paint, it's the wheels. Yes, you've read it right it's those three wheels (1 in front and 2 at the back) at the bottom of the cart.

Congratulations! if you've made it this far. I didn't even expect that this blog would be this long but if it's coming from experience you know that every detail counts.

If you enjoyed what you've read so far, get ready my friends because that was just an appetizer. The main dish is coming right up. 😉

Now going back to the title "How to GROW your Php 3000" which I believe is the main reason why you're reading this so I won't delay it any further.

The initial investment I needed to start my Foodcart Empire was Php 3000. Let's stick with the conservative computation we made earlier which shows that 1 cart would roughly make Php 500. I did a 50-50 split with my vendor so that's Php 250 for me per day. Let's just say that my cart would only sell 6 days per week then that would equal 1,500 per week which means in 2 weeks I was already break even.

Now, this is a SIMPLE but very POWERFUL concept. Instead of spending that Php 3000 that I made back in 2 weeks. I hired the same carpenter to create a new cart. With 2 carts I was earning Php 500 / day and in a week I already have another Php 3000 which means another cart.

The process went on until we reached 10 carts. That's Php 250 / cart x 10 carts = Php 2,500. Let me show you the math

Week Investment # of cart/s Daily income

Week 1 = Php 3000 1 Php 250

Week 3 = Php 3000 2 Php 500

Week 4 = Php 3000 3 Php 750

Week 5 = Php 3000 4 Php 1000

*At this point in three days, you have enough cash for another cart so you can start spending for upgrades like using bikes with aluminum finish for your products.

I won't deny the fact that like in any other business there will always be risks involved i.e. hiring the right people, quality control, etc. There was once instance wherein one of the vendors stole the bike food cart. These are the things that you'll learn as you go and along with it you have to professionalize the business i.e. get a basic biodata for your vendors etc. It's a case to case basis and you need to adapt and continuously refine your business no matter how simple it may seem.

If there's a one thing I want you to consider as a key takeaway for this is that you need to learn how to delay gratification. I could have easily spent that Php 3000 in something else instead of re-investing it in the business for cart #2 but I knew that with a bit patience it could even be better. The good thing about this concept is that you can apply this to other business/es i.e. apartments, franchises, Grab cars or bikes, etc.

Now it's your turn. On what business/es would use the concept of REINVESTING your profits on? Share your thoughts in the comments below :)

It's already the second week of January. The holiday "no diet" eating sessions are over (usually start last week of November and end the second week of January). The sessions are over but you know that "ghost" of holidays are hanging around your midsection.

We're less than two months away from March and that simply means that you have less than two months to be BEACH Ready.

I'll go straight to the point, If you came here thinking that you'll find a silver bullet, a magic pill, a ritual, or a genie even that would give you the washboard abs that you can easily flaunt once beach season starts, I'm sorry to burst your bubble but you came to the wrong place.

but hold on.... don't fret my friend

If you're the type of person who is willing to invest the time and effort when you want to achieve your goals then let's get started!

First of all, you have to accept the fact that getting your ideal beach body requires DISCIPLINE, DETERMINATION, and LIFESTYLE IMPROVEMENTS. That's why you must have a reason when you begin this journey. It doesn't have to be so deep. A simple reason like "you want to look good to have the confidence to flirt" or something to that extent would suffice.

That brings us to step 1

1) Understand your WHY!

You're in for the long haul my friend. To earn your ideal body requires the "big C", yes you've read it right, it requires COMMITMENT.

The physical situation you're in right now is the result of your lifestyle.

To get where we want to go then we need to change to the direction that would lead us to our desired destination.

Pause for a while and reflect. Close your eyes and think why you want to start this journey towards a better version of yourself?

Welcome back!

If you're already fine where you are right now then you may now leave this page

but

If you're ready to take the plunge then let's move on to step 2

2) Develop the HABIT!

This is what I need you to do right NOW!

1 Push - up

1 Jumping Jack

1 Burpee

(if you're not familiar with a burpee then you may check this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZgVxmf6jkA)

That's all you need to do to START!

Our goal for Week 1 is for you to DEVELOP the HABIT first. Don't think about the insane sweaty sessions first. We'll get to that as we go along.

For now, we need to introduce your BODY and your MIND to the UPGRADES that we are making.

NOW it's time to talk to the inner YOU!

Tell this to her/him

"I'm taking charge NOW! This would be different because I'll do it in a SUSTAINABLE Way!"

that brings us to step 3

3) DECIDE on what's SUSTAINABLE for you

According to recent studies, 15 - 30 minutes of exercise is optimal for our health.

But like what I've said, you have to DECIDE what's right for you right now. If you can't commit 15 minutes yet then let's start with 10 or 5 minutes even.

Our initial goal is for you to Develop the Habit first. We can easily scale our duration and intensity after we've established our foundation.

You did 3 simple exercises a while ago. No fancy pieces of equipment, no gym membership required. For tomorrow and the rest of week 1, that's all you need to do

1 Push - up

1 Jumping Jack

1 Burpee

This would be your day 1, and the rest of week 1 is 7 days including this day.

For example, you started Jan. 14, 2020 then you're week 1 is from Jan 14 - 20, 2020.

For week 2, let's increase our repetition.

Let's do 2 reps for each exercise

2 Push - up

2 Jumping Jack

2 Burpee

That's it! Remember our first goal is for you to DEVELOP the HABIT first.

Keep increasing the repetitions as you go from week to week. That would be 3 reps for each exercise for week 3, 4 reps each for week 4 and so on.

When you're ready for the Next Level then look forward to my next article wherein I'll be sharing the resources that I'm using that includes

"How to get promoted", these are the same words I've typed in the google search bar when I was passed over for promotion for the nth time.

I'll share with you the simple life changes I've made to get my first promotion and how you can get yours!

Through my search, I found a book authored by Donald Asher, "Who Gets Promoted, Who Doesn't and Why".

https://www.donaldasher.com/books.html

This book helped me a lot because it gave me practical tips that I can start the following day. It enlightened me and showed me the things that I'm doing right and should keep doing and the things that need to change.

With that out of the window, the first simple change is

1) When you want to LEARN something, then search for ANSWERS!

the fact that you were to reach this blog post means that you have access to the internet. That also means that you can easily google anything that need or want to learn.

I wanted to write a blog way back 2019 but I didn't know how that's why I went back to my handy dandy google search bar.

That brings us to point number two

2) If you want to do something, you have to START!

With all the distractions around us, Instagram, Facebook, Netflix, etc. It's so easy to kill a.k.a waste time.

Before writing this blog I was trying to learn how to boost a post on Instagram and it required me to log in to my FB account. A few mins after logging in I saw that red notification signal and one thing led to another and you know how the story goes which you can easily relate to,

Checking the clock afterward I noticed that I killed an estimated army of approximately 7200 seconds which is 120 in minutes or 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I went into self-talk mode and said: "this extrajudicial killing of time should stop NOW!"

I immediately closed the FB tab in my browser and opened Microsoft Excel and begin writing (in my case typing, haha :) )

that brings us to point three

3) Develop the DISCIPLINE to the things that you need to accomplish!

It's a January which means you might have set "to lose weight" as one of new year's resolution

take it from a guy who was called fat throughout the majority of his life, losing weight takes a lot of time, effort, donuts, pizza, pasta that you need to sacrifice. Sacrificing the "good" now for an opportunity of a "better" tomorrow.

Sacrifice which I prefer to call INVESTMENT

point number four

4) INVEST in yourself!

Eat healthy, work out, learn something new, rest well, etc. The question I ask myself when I'm trying to determine if my activity is an investment to myself is "would this make me a better person today and the days moving forward?"

lastly

5) SIMPLIFY!

I asked myself before "what's a simple way to determine if I was productive in a day?" and I patterned it similar to the "daily objectives" of gaming apps.

*Eat healthy
*Work out (exercise)
*Learn something new
*Rest well
*Work on your passion project

When I'm able to accomplish these things in a day on top of my other responsibilities, I know my day was well spent. By simplifying my daily checklist of things to do it's much easier to track and accomplish.

How about you? What do you think should I include in this list?

I'll give away Php 350 discount code to the best answer!
