This is the first post on the new BGC: Kansas City news blog. The new blog is in conjunction with the new site, which has been redesigned on a new hosting service. The new site is also a "wiki", allowing visitors to update sections of it on their own. For instance, someone who may have recently discovered a great restaurant that serves organic whole wheat pasta can go right into the site and add that restaurant to the Business Listing page. By turning over the keys to the site to our loyal visitors, BigGreenCity.com will grow to be a more valuable information resource, benefiting from the collected knowledge of an entire community of green citizens.

It may seem a little overwhelming to the uninitiated, but that's alright. You don't have to contribute to use the site. Our only goal with the site is to give you, citizen, the most useful and comprehensive guide to living an eco-friendly life in your own city. However the site works for you, the important thing is that it works. You'll find a useful page on the navigation bar to the left side of the screen, called Using This Site, that should help familiarize you with what you'll find on the new BigGreenCity.com. If you have any questions or concerns, you can find a tab at the top of every page that says "Discuss". Click on that and you can post your thoughts. (Try to keep your comments relevant to whatever page you are on--all general site comments can be added on the Home page.)
