Indian National Poet Maha Kavi Bharathiar. Tamil Speech by S.V.Ramani.

Subramaya Bharathi was born to Chinnasami Subramanya Iyer and Elakkumi (Lakshmi) Ammaal as "Subbayya" on December 11, 1882 in the Tamil village of Ettayapuram. He was educated at a local high school called "The M.D.T. Hindu College". From a very young age he learnt music and at 11, he was invited to a conference of Ettayapuram court poets and musicians for composing poems and songs. It was here that he was conferred the title of "Bharathi" Bharathi lost his mother at the age of 5 and his father at the age of 16., When Bharathi was 14 year old he married Chellamal.

After this early marriage, Bharathi, curious to see the outside world, left for Benares in 1898. The next four years of his life served as a passage of discovery. During this time he discovered a country in tumult outside his small hamlet. Bharathi worked as a teacher in Madurai Sethupathy High School (now a higher secondary school) and as a journal editor at various times in his life.

Bharathi joined as Assistant Editor of the Swadeshamitran, a Tamil daily in 1904. By April 1907, he started editing the Tamil weekly India and the English newspaper Bala Bharatham with M.P.T. Acharya. Bharathi started to publish his poems regularly in these editions. Bharathi participated in the historic Surat Congress in 1907, which deepened the divisions within the Indian National Congress between the militant wing led by Tilak and Aurobindo and the moderate wing. Bharathi supported Tilak and Aurobindo together with V. O. Chidambaram Pillai and Kanchi Varathaachariyar. Tilak openly supported armed resistance against the British.

In 1908, he gave evidence in the case which had been instituted by the British against V.O. Chidambaram Pillai. In the same year, the proprietor of the journal India was arrested in Madras. Faced with the prospect of arrest, Bharathi escaped to Pondicherry which was under French rule. From there he edited and published the weekly journal India, Vijaya, a Tamil daily, Bala Bharatha, an English monthly, and Suryothayam, a local weekly of Pondicherry. The British tried to suppress Bharathi's output by stopping remittances and letters to the papers. Both India and Vijaya were banned in British India in 1909.

Bharathi entered British India near Cuddalore in November 1918 and was promptly arrested. He was imprisoned in the Central prison in Cuddalore in custody for three weeks from 20 November to 14 December. The following year Bharathi met with Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

.Bharathi's health was badly affected by the imprisonments and by 1920, when a General Amnesty Order finally removed restrictions on his movements, Bharathi was already struggling. He was struck by an elephant at Parthasarathy temple, Thiruvallikeni, Chennai, whom he used to feed regularly. Although he survived the incident, a few months later his health deteriorated and he died on September 11, 1921. Though Bharathi was a people's poet there were only fourteen people to attend his funeral.

The last years of his life were spent in a house in Triplicane, Chennai This house was bought and renovated by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1993 and named 'Bharathiyar illam' (Home of Bharathiyar).

Let us remember Barathi’s word that we will never rest, nor sleep and we will be truthful to our Mother country.

In Sri Thiagaraja Ramayana in Aranyakandam Thiagaraja told in his songs that Sabari waits eagerly for Rama's arrival for several years and offers him athithi satkaram. Even in our daily pooja, while weoffer naivedyam, we recite this sloka,

Sabari's atithyam is widely known and she is held in the highest regard.Is
it because Sabari is a great devotee of Rama.

Sabari was a tribal woman. Though she was illiterate, she staunchly
believed in her Acharya, Mathanga Maharshi, and served him with great
Devotion/commitment for several years. Before leaving for the Heavenly abode the Maharshi instructs Sabari to wait for Lord Rama and Lakshmana. Sabari believed in her Acharya's word and waited patiently for several years, alone in the Ashram, just to give athithyam to Rama for a day.

Aranya Kandam ends with Sabari's episode and the first sarga of next
Kandam (Kishkindha Kandam) includes the description of Pampa river and
Lord Rama's meeting with Hanumanwith Sraddha (Swamiji attaches lot of importance to Sraddha – the commitment) and automatically Perumal with the help of Acharya will rescueus -- just like He rescued Sita with the help of Hanuman.

Sri Thiagaraja describes Rama is an avatharam of Lord Srimannarayana; Rama was worshippedby his subjects not because he was the Lord, but because of his qualities.Lord Rama with his exemplary behaviour depicted to the world how one shouldbehave and react to adverse circumstances. In addition to the peripheralstoryline in Ramayanam one should understand
the underlying philosophic meaning of each episode and follow it as far
as possible to lead a "PERFECT LIFE". Let us all sing Rama’s name.

Kalaignar Karunanidhi stated in his message that the Tamil society was proud that Dr. Ramakrishnan, who was born in Chidambaram, was the third Tamil to get the Nobel Prize after C.V. Raman (1930) and Chandrasekhar (1983). Karunanidhi knows they are all belonging to Brahmin community. Like this several Brahmins are belonging to Sixty three Nayanmars have devoted their life to Lord Siva and done wonderful job for Tamil and Tamil culture.

Mahakavi Bharathi left an indelible mark as the poet of Tamil nationalism and Indian freedom. Dr. U. V. Swaminatha Iyer was a Tamil scholar and researcher who was instrumental in bringing many long-forgotten works of classical Tamil literature to light. His singular effort over five decades brought to light major literary works in Tamil and contributed vastly to the enrichment of its literary heritage. Dr. Iyer published over 91 books in his lifetime, on a variety of matters connected to classical Tamil literature, and collected 3067 paper manuscripts, palm leaf manuscripts and notes of various kinds. He is affectionly called as "Tamil Thatha" (Grandfather of Tamil)
The Brahmin community people in Tamil Nadu have contributed more, by way of promoting Tamil language, Music, Dance, Drama, Science, Math’s and other subjects. They have done wonderful job in promoting Tamil language, culture and Tamil grammar and also sacrificed their life for Indian Independence. By natural they are very simple people with great intelligence and devotion to God.

The Tamil Nadu Government on Saturday decided to host the ninth World Tamil Conference in Coimbatore from Jan 21 to 24, 2010.The decision was taken at a high-level meeting at the Secretariat presided over by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. It was decided to set up several committees to look after preparations for the conference and also send out invitations to Tamil scholars the world over.

We request Kalaignar Karunanidhi to include Brahmin Scholars also in the conference without any caste hatred.

Mayuranathar Temple is located on the bank of River kauveri. According to the Hindu mythology, Annai Parasakthi danced in the form of a peacock and hence the place is called Mayiladuthurai. Devotees after worshipping Mayuranathar can travel from here to all the places of Navagrahas and other important temples by bus. The festival of Holy bath known as Kadai Muzhukku in the river Cauvery is celebrated in the month of Ippasi on the last day of the month. Near Mayiladuthurai, POOMBUHAR, NAGORE, VAITHEESWARANKOIL, TRANQUEBAR are the places of Interest to see.

Mayuram means peacock in sanskrit and it was later translated as Mayiladuthurai in tamil. Lot of sidhars have lived here. Even today we find an area called Sidharkaadu, a suburb of Mayuram. Legends also tell that it was a part of Tharukavanam. The legend goes that Daksha did not invite his daughter Parvati, and his son-in-law Lord Siva to the sacrifice he conducted. Being vexed at the disrespectful attitude of Daksha towards him, Lord Siva sent Veerabhadra, a minor deity, to go and desecrate the sacrifice conducted by Daksha. Lord Siva at the same time instructed Parvati Devi not to attend the yaga. However, the Devi attended the yaga, disobeying her Lord's prohibition. While Veerabhadra was desecrating the yaga, a peahen got injured and it immediately ran to Parvati Devi and took refuge under her. After everything was over, Parvati Devi repented very much for having disobeyed the Lord. To wash off the sin, she entered the fire. At the time of entering the fire, she was thinking about the peahen to which she gave refuge and so in the next birth she took the form of a peahen and came to this place. The Devi conducted penance for many years and at last attained re-union with Lord Siva. Hence the place came to be known as Mayuram or Mayavaram (Mayuram means peahen). The Lord of the temple came to be known as Mayuranatha. The other names by which this place is known are Sudavanam, Sikliandipuram, Brahmapuram, and Brahmavanam etc. The Devi is known as Abhayapradambika, Abhayambika, Anjalanayaki, Anjalai, etc., meaning one who gave refuge to the peahen.

Let us pray Mayuranathar and Abhayambikai and get their blessing for long and prosperous life.

In India, prostitution itself (exchanging sex for money) is not illegal, but the surrounding activities (operating brothels, pimping, soliciting sex etc) are illegal.
Prostitution is currently a contentious issue in India. In 2007. Quoting a study on 'Girls/Women in prostitution in India', Former Minister for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdhury said that out of the total number of prostitutes in the country, 35.47 per cent entered the trade before the age of 18 years. The number of prostitutes has also doubled in the recent decade.

According to a Human Rights Watch report, Indian anti-trafficking laws are designed to combat commercialized vice; prostitution, as such, is not illegal. A sex worker can be punished for soliciting or seducing in public while clients can be punished for sexual activity close to a public place, and the organization puts the figure of sex workers in India to be around 15 million, with Mumbai alone being home to one lakh (100,000) sex workers, the largest sex industry centre in Asia [4]. Over the years, India has seen a growing mandate to legalize prostitution, to avoid exploitation of sex workers and their children by middlemen and also in the wake of growing HIV/AIDS menace.
The Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act, 1956 ("ITPA"), the main statute dealing with sex work in India, does not criminalise prostitution or prostitutes per se, but mostly punishes acts by third parties facilitating prostitution like brothel keeping, living off earnings and procuring, even where sex work is not coerced.

We have to think over about the poor girls in Tamilnadu, who are compelled for prostitution due to their poverty and for their daily food. The Press Club also condemned the arrest and urged the Government to intervene and order the release of Mr. Lenin News editor Dinamalar and sought action against film artistes, who had used filthy and abusive language against the media. One Actor told some ladies are doing the prostitution for the sake of two times of meals only.

MUJ General Secretary D Suresh Kumar, in a statement said, when the daily had published a clarification, expressing regret and it was made open to the film stars to move the court and seek the remedy, the police action was highly prejudiced and undemocratic.

DINAMALAR NEWS editor, B Lenin who was arrested for publishing an article that accused some of the top Tamil actors of being involved in a sex scandal has been granted bail on Friday (October 9). The charges against the scribe have not been dropped though he was granted bail by the court.

Lenin is expected to be released from a Chennai prison later in the day after the completion of formalities. A case under Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Women Harassment (Prevention) act was registered against the Dinmalar scribe.

The Dinamalar editor has received strong support from the journalist fraternity in Chennai after he was arrested by the police on charges of defaming Tamil film actors. Madras Union of Journalists and Dinmalar employees had protested against his arrest and met the Chennai Commissioner of Police to lodge a complaint in this regard.

The journalists have demanded that an enquiry should have been undertaken before ordering his arrest. Actress Bhuvaneswari was arrested by police for running a high-profile brothel.

Lenin was arrested after a complaint was lodged by Radha Ravi, general secretary of the South India Film Artistes Association. He was accused of publishing a statement of Bhuvaneswari, which mentions several Tamil actors as part of a sex scandal.

We request the Chief Minister, that even though Lenin was released on Bail, the charges against Lenin may also be withdrawn immediately.

We appreciate the effort taken by Tamil Nadu Police during the past in arresting several brothel agents and cine actresses in connection with brothel cases in Tamil Nadu and now arresting Actress Bhuvaneswari on charges of prostitution in Chennai. We also appreciate the Police authorities for arresting Dinamalar News Editor Lenin for giving wrong information to the Dinamalar News paper. It is also the duty of Dinamalar Editor to verify the genuine of the matter before publishing the News.

Women cadres of the Indian Tauheed Jamaath on Tuesday [6-10-2009] met city police commissioner T. Rajendran to complain against actor Bhuvaneswari wearing a burkha while being taken to court last Friday after being arrested for prostitution
Speaking to mediapersons, Masood Alima, state women wing president, Indian Tauheed Jamaath, said: “We respect the burkha as a traditional symbol for Muslims. Police should not have allowed her to wear the burkha to hide her face. The actor was arrested for immoral trafficking.” Rajendran promised the women necessary action. The petition was forwarded to the central crime branch deputy commissioner of police.

While once again appreciating the Tamil Nadu Police, We the Tamilnadu public people also request the Police Commissioner, during the arrest not to allow any culprits to hide their faces by putting Burka or any other materials as this will hurt the feelings of other community people.. Let people see their ugly face and then only the prostitutes and other culprits will refine. Prostitution must be curbed under the root level and the prostitutes should not be allowed for whatever the reason. Every people must work hard and earn the money for their livelihood.

Sri Thiagaraja Ramayana, the life history of Lord RAMA, is the world's most ancient epic. It describes an era of 4000 to 4500 years ago. The original Ramayana was written in Sanskrit, by saint VAKMIKI, and it is stated that the Saint Naradha told this epic Ramayana to Valmiki. Valmiki has confirmed this before narrating the birth of Sri Rama.

Sri Thiagaraja swamigal who personally seen Sri Rama and Lakshmana has described thro his poem the story of Ramayana from his birth to his return to his Kingdom Ayodhya after completing his fourteen years in exile in forest and fulfilled the promise made by his father, where his brother, Bharat as well as all citizens welcomed him and he became the King. I am now going to tell the story of Lord Rama as written by Sri Thiagaraja in his poems. I request all to pardon me if there are any mistakes in my speeches.

Rama was considered an incarnation of Vishnu and worshipped even during his life-time. His life was a living example of how an ideal human being should strive to be. Rama was an ideal son, an ideal student, an ideal soldier, an ideal husband, an ideal brother, an ideal citizen and finally, an ideal king. His whole life is treated as the domination of good over evil, both within and outside ourselves. His willingness to sacrifice worldly pleasures, material wealth and power for the values he cherished inspired all subsequent generations. His legacy has always remained and became part and parcel of the Indian civilization.

Every people in the world must read the story of Ramayana which is now available in all languages and follow the good principles like an ideal son and sincere husband and a moral Ruler for his citizens.

In Tamilnadu Rajaji violated the salt laws at Vedaranyam . From Trichi nearly 100 patriots headed by Rajaji marched to Vedaranyam. Leaders like Sardar Vedharatanam Pillai, T.S.S.Rajan, Srimathi Ruckmani Lakshmipathy took part in this salt satyagraha. It created awareness among the people against the British Government. Many people like Rajaji, K.Kamaraj were arrested when they disobeyed the British government . “No Tax Campaign” was also conducted in many parts of Tamilnadu. At Tirupur on 11th January As per the directions of Gandhiji individual satyagraha was followed by the leaders of Tamilnadu. Many young leaders like Adikeasava Naicker, Salem Adi Narayana chettiar, Guruswamy naidu, K.Kamaraj, Omandoor Ramasamy Reddiar, Baktavatsalam, C.Subramaniyam and R.Venkatraman participated in the freedom movement. Quit India movement: The resolution of Quit India movement was passed at Bombay congress session in 1942. On the advice of Gandhiji many leaders like K.Kamaraj participated in the movement. Leaders like Muthuranga Mudaliar, Baktavatsalam and R.Venkataraman were arrested.

Civil Disobedience Movement Salt Satyagraha: on March 1930, Gandhiji violated the salt laws, the police attacked a procession carrying National flags and singing national songs . As a result of the lathi charge, Tirupur Kumaran, a freedom fighter sacrificed his life. He demonstrated his patriotism by firmly holding the congress flag and shouting Vande Mataram against the British.It was a deed of patriotism, heroism and symbolof dedication. Non Co-operation Movement: The people of Tamilnadu wereangry with the British Government because of the Rowlatt Act. Gandhiji movedthe Non Co-operation resolution at Nagpur Congress session. Itwas presided by C.Vijayaraghava Chariyar, eminent Nationalist ofTamilnadu. Rajaji acted as the Lieutenent of Gandhiji. He along withSathyamurthy and E.V.Ramaswamy Naicker led the non co-operationmovement.

Events of the non co-operation movement: Rajaji was arrested and imprisoned in Vellore jail. Agitations occurred in different places. The leaders and the people boycotted the courts and the government

offices. At the end of the second world war in Europe, in May 1945, Labour Party in England won a formidable victory, winning just under 50% of the vote with a majority of 145 seats.

Clement Attlee's proved one of the most radical British governments of the 20th century, presiding over a policy of selective nationalizations of major industries and Attlee's government also began the process of dismantling the British Empire when it granted independence to India and Pakistan in 1947, followed by Burma (Myanmar) and Ceylon (Sri Lanka) the following year.

On 15^th August 1947, India has taken her place as free and independent Dominion in the British commonwealth of Nations. But we cannot forget the sacrifices of several lakhs of Indians including Tamilians, who gave their life to fight against the British rulers.

In the part Two, I am explaining about the Non Co-operation Movementand the further consequences in Tamil Nadu. The people of Tamilnadu wereangry with the British Government because of the Rowlatt Act and Jallianwala Bagh tragedy
which occurred in 1919. Gandhiji moved the Non Co-operation resolution at Nagpur Congress session. It was presided by C.Vijayaraghava Chariyar, eminent Nationalist of Tamilnadu. Rajaji acted as the Lieutenent of Gandhiji. He along with
Sathyamurthy and E.V.Ramaswamy Naicker led the non co-operationmovement.

Agitations infront of toddy and arrack shops were held in variousplaces of Tamilnadu.

Boycott of Simmon commission: Under the leadership of Sathyamurthy Simon commission was boycotted because there was no Indian member in it. In 1927, the congress volunteers organised a Satyagraha for the removal of the Statue of Colonel Neill (a tyrant of the 1857 Rebellion) erected at Madras. Many were arrested.

In the liberation war of India against British rulers, Tamil Nadu Vellore Mutiny (July 10, 1806) was the first instance of a mutiny by Indian sepoys against the British East India Company. It predates even the Indian Rebellion of 1857 by half a century. The revolt, which took place in the South Indian town of Vellore, was rather brief, lasting only one full day but brutal, as mutineers broke into the Vellore fort and killed or injured 200 British troops, before they were subdued by reinforcements from nearby Arcot.
The reasons for the mutiny revolved mainly around resentment against changes in sepoy dress code in November 1805. Hindus were prohibited from wearing religious marks on their foreheads and Muslims were required to shave their beard and trim their moustache. This created a strong resentment among the soldiers. In May 1806, some revolting soldiers were sent to Fort St. George. Two soldiers — a Hindu and a Muslim — were given 900 lashes each and their services terminated.
India finds an honored place in the history of free India because of its association with the immortal memory of Veerapandya Kattabomman. He was one of the first martyrs of India’s freedom struggle who was hanged by the British in the 18th century.

During 1555Humayun returned to India with his son Akbar. At the age of forty-nine he slipped from the steps of his palace and so met his death. His son Akbar a lad of thirteen he succeeded his father and ruled Punjab and Delhi. He ruled India from 1556 to 1605.

After the Lok Sabha poll, BJP has now crossed over all the troubles. The party wrested five seats from Congress in BJP ruled states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and got an absolute majority in the hill state of Uttarakhand by winning the lone crucial seat that was contested. It was a boost for Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, whose winning ways had come under the cloud of defeat his party suffered in the Lok Sabha polls. On Monday, when the results were announced, Modi cleared the test with flying colors, putting to rest doubts over his leadership. BJP trounced Congress winning five out of seven seats — including Congress bastions like Jasdan and Chotila — raising its tally in the 182-member assembly from 117 to 121. The saffron party, however, lost Kodinar and Dhoraji. “It was a well thought out strategy. If he had lost badly, he would have gone further into a shell. But after this convincing win, his detractors better watch out,’’ said a BJP leader. Party sources said Modi worked hard behind the scenes. In Uttarakhand, the ruling BJP, still short of an absolute majority in 70-member House, scraped through in Vikas Nagar seat by defeating Congress by just 596 votes. In June, the party had won the Kapkot byelection. The party now has 36 MLAs. It also enjoys the support of three Uttarakhand Krantikari Dal legislators and two independent MLAs. BJP’s candidate is also the general secretary of Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha. In Madhya Pradesh, the ruling BJP wrested Tendukheda from Congress which retained Gohad seat. Any religious leaders must be true to their religion and they must guide the people in right path. Father, Mother and Guru [Religious leaders] are considered to be God. But here we are seeing a different kind of story.
A 60-year-old pastor, who is running a charitable trust in a village near Minjur in Tiruvallur district, 55 km from Chennai, was arrested for raping a 20-year-old woman. The woman, an orphan, was staying in a shelter on the church premises. Police are inquiring into the probability of the pastor sexually abusing the children staying in the orphanage.
Police said inquiries had revealed that the pastor, Sadhu Immanuel, had sexually assaulted another 22-year-old woman staying in the same shelter and had taken her to a private hospital in Red Hills for abortion six months ago. “Whenever his family was away, Immanuel used to ask the girls to clean his house and then sexually assault them. He used to do this inside the church too. We have rescued eight girls and two boys from the home,” Tiruvallur superintendent of police MC Sarangan told TOI.
Immanuel has been running the Satyam Charitable Trust and a church at Vellur village for the past 25 years.
The crime came to light when Radhika (name changed), who left eight years ago after being abused, returned to the orphanage, where the inmates narrated their tales of horror. Even after leaving the orphanage, Radhika used to make regular visits to distribute food to the inmates. During her latest visit, two girls told her that Immanuel was abusing them for the past two years.
Radhika alerted an NGO, Just Trust, and approached a bi-weekly magazine, which did a sting operation. Following this, the district collector ordered an inspection of the home.

Chennai: Ponneri tahsildar S Mallika and district social welfare officer K Ruthmary visited the orphanage, run by pastor Sadhu Immanuel near Minjur, and found that it was not authorised. They sealed the home and rescued the children. The orphans were shifted to a government home in Tiruvallur. “After producing them before the magistrate, we will send them for medical examination,” a police officer said.
The orphanage is located on a 50-cent plot in Vellur village, with two houses and a church. While the orphans were put up in one house, Immanuel lived in the other with his wife, Arul Mary, two daughters and a son. Another daughter is married and lives elsewhere.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that Immanuel forcibly took one of the girls to the church at night; if the girl resisted, he beat her up. “We have information that Immanuel took one of the inmates to a private hospital to terminate her pregnancy. The woman attempted suicide by immolating herself six months ago,” said G Jebaraj of Just Trust.
A police officer said the pastor ill-treated the orphans in other ways too. “He used to take the children to ICF and other parts of the city for begging during festivals. Some orphans are studying in a school in Vellur,” he said.
Immanuel has been remanded in judicial custody.

By his immoral activities Immanuel has brought a shameful name to his religion and Jesus will never pardon him for his unmerciful behaviour.

In a paper written for the Bulletin for Atomic Scientists, Robert Norris of the Natural Resources Defense Council and Hans Kristensen of the Federation of American Scientists said Pakistan was “busily enhancing its capabilities across the board”, with new nuclear-capable ballistic missiles being readied for deployment and two nuclear capable cruise missiles under development. Two plutonium production reactors and a chemical separation facility were also under construction.
The paper essentially upgrades Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal both quantitatively (from 60 weapons last year to 70-90 now) and qualitatively — from a uranium-base to a plutonium base.

“The fact that they are preparing nuclear-capable cruise missiles suggests their scientists have been able to miniaturize nuclear warheads by using plutonium,” Kristensen told TOI0n 1-9-2009. “They are shifting their nuclear base from uranium to plutonium... in a sense, they are turning a chapter.” Plutonium-based warheads are lighter and easier to handle. India’s nuclear arsenal is largely plutonium-based.

Kristensen said Pakistan’s weapons and deliver-systems could be assumed to be India-specific because Islamabad “has not declared any other adversary”.

During 1979 Iraq launched a nuclear weapons programme of its own. Although Iraq has signed the Non-proliferation Treaty, the Iraqis were reported to have bought a swimming pool reactor from France which would have enabled them to produce weapons-grade plutonium. However on 12th April 1979 the equipment for that reactor while stored in a ware house in a southern French port awaiting shipment was mysteriously blown up presumably by Israeli Agents.

Like Iraq Pakistan attempt to get a nuclear reprocessing plant from France for chemical separation of plutonium from spent fuel has been temporarily halted and it has come to light that Pakistan had also been buying components for a uranium enrichment facility. It may be also looking for clandestine means to acquire fissile material by sale or theft, so that it could be readily fabricated by Pakistan scientists in some kind of a crude explosive device.

Pakistan’s Islamic Bomb will have the following repercussions:-

1. Israel would be deterred from carrying out a full scale invasion and occupation of Arab countries.
2. A Nuclear reprisal by Israel to concerted Arab offensive would also be deterred.
3. Oil rich Arab states armed with nuclear weapons would be able to withstand American and other external threats and pressures.
4. The possibility of sub-national organizations like the Palestine Liberation Organization [P.L.O.] getting access to Islamic nuclear devices might create enormous uncertainty in the minds of Israelis which of course, would be advantage to the overall Arab cause.
5. A Pakistan nuclear weapons would not only deter India from considering a conventional attack on Pakistan, but it might even deter India from taking any retaliatory conventional action against Pakistan’s offensive moves, for instance in “Kashmir”.
6. Nuclearisation of Islam would strengthen the Islamic solidarity of Muslim populations all over the world, whether they are in Soviet, Central Asia, and Sin kiang, in the Indian sub-continent or elsewhere.

Pakistan has for long been considered a potential nuclear weapon power, and policy wise, it has kept out of not only the Non-proliferation Treaty, but also the partial test ban Treaty. As was to be expected, Pakistan always created an image of having linked its nuclear policy with that of India. It was easy for Pakistan leadership to convince the western world that for them keeping the option open was a justifiable reaction to India’s nuclear policy. For the United States and its allies this Pakistan reaction became a convenient leverage to apply pressure on India. The advocates of the Non-proliferation Treaty felt that if India were restrained both India and Pakistan would remain non-nuclear military powers.

Pakistan-Arab countries ambition was to build a nuclear bomb for Islam. A number of intelligence agencies had known about this for years, but first time that the Indian public heard about this development was taken when former foreign Minister Vajpayee quietly revealed in the Lok Sabha in March 1979 that India has verified through independent sources of its own that the Pakistan nuclear programme had acquired “non-peaceful” dimensions.

However, Saudi Arabia and Libya have been the major financial supporters of Pakistan in this venture. Both countries have a common though nor necessarily a shared interest in nuclearising the Arab world.

The other major development which nurtured the idea of an Islamic bomb was the global proliferation of nuclear technology, materials and components. Most of the components for the fabrication of fissile material are now available in the open market. Pakistan thro its nuclear scientists abroad and its convert industrial connections and the Arab through their oil and money connections have considerable leverage in the European nuclear markets to get access to the required materials.

War is not the solution for peace.

The former chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, KS Sudarshan, has said in Indore on 25-8-2009 that Jinnah was
“a true (Indian) nationalist” and secular in his outlook until he was painted in a corner by Congress leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru.

Sudarshan praised Jinnah’s secular outlook by recalling that “when Mahatma Gandhi supported the Khilafat movement in 1919, Jinnah opposed it. He went on to say that it was not Jinnah, but Gandhi’s soft-corner for Nehru, which resulted in the 1947 Partition. He also said Gandhi had repeatedly offended Jinnah.

I want to bring it to the notice of K.S. Sudharsan before Independence, Jinnah replied to a foreign correspondent “The last thing in attaining freedom for Pakistan, I seek is bloodshed. Although if driven to it, no Muslim is afraid to defend himself. “After some years Sir Sikander Hayat Khan, the Chief Minister of the Punjab had expressed his fear that if Pakistan if created would mean a massacre. His fear proved to be only true and a lot of massacre engulfed Muslims, Hindus and others.

In the March and April 1919, the struggle for the Independence was almost entirely confined to the Punjab and Western India. Most of the rioting in Delhi, Lahore, Amristar and elsewhere was characterized by racial hatred which was instigated by British Government. Without any reason, the government arrested Mahatma Gandhi on his way to Punjab and this provoked a riot in the mill town of Ahmadabad, where Gandhi was well known and loved by all. Gandhi was again released and helped to restore order.
On 15th April martial law was declared in the Punjab in consequence of a deal, which becomes one of the great rallying cries of Indian Independence. Amristar a city of 3, 00,000 inhabitants and the important religious centre of the Sikhs were about 250 miles north-west of Delhi. In Amristar on 10th April two nationalist leaders were arrested and deported. Provoked by this act of British Rulers a large crowd attempted to enter the European Cantonment and being turned away by British Army, they began rioting in city. Two banks were attacked and other Europeans were also attacked by them and railway stations set on fire.
The Military under one General Dyer restored order and all public meetings and assemblies were declared illegal. On April 13th to protest against the atrocities of General Dyer thousands of people gathered in a large enclosed ground known as “Jallianwalla Bagh”. On hearing this General Dyer personally went to the spot with ninety Gurka and Baluchi soldiers and two armoured cars with which he blocked the only exit of the Ground. Then without warning he ordered his men to open fire on the densely packed innocent people, and on his own admission fired 1605 rounds before he withdrew, ordering the armoured cars to remain and prevent anyone from leaving or entering the Bagh. Official figures gave 379 dead and 1200 wounded but really thousands of people were massacred by the shooting of cruel Dyer.

The affair of the Jallianwala Bagh certainly had a moral effect, particularly upon Gandhi. For him there was now no compromise with the British and he declared the Co-operation in any shape or form with this satanic government is sinful.

How the R.S.S. leader not aware of these incidents, and how he is appreciating Jinnah for not even condemning the incidents of Jallianwallah Bagh? Let the R.S.S. leader praise Jinnah but he must tell who has assassinated Gandhi and what is the reason for that?

The ambition of Indian freedom fighter Gopalakrisha Gokhale was the Jinnah to be the ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity. But his ambition wilted before the challenge of events and ironically, Jinnah became the ambassador of Hindu-Muslim strife ending in mutual slaughter.

Jinnah never tolerate even the suggestion that Muslim and Hindu belonged to one country. Jinnah said, we are the nation with our own distinctive culture and civilization, language and literature, art, and architecture, names and nomenclature and legal laws and moral codes, customs and history. We are different and we cannot be together only in the ballot box.

Gandhi commented, whether the two nation theory of Jinnah will become one if the whole of India accepted Islam? Jinnah had no answer of Gandhi’s question.

Jinnah was confusing nationality with religion. If every religion were to constitute a nation, the world would be broken up into fragments.

Significantly, the pathological emphasis on religion in justification of separate homeland for Muslims was not supported by religious leaders of Islam in India. Maulana Maududi, head of the Jamait-e-Islam explained, why we should foolishly waste our time in expediting the so called Muslim national state, when we know that it will not only be useful for our purposes, but will prove an obstacle in our path.

Once Jinnah was asked, what he proposed to do for the areas where Muslims were in a minority. He replied, they must accept the citizenship in the state in which they are. They can remain there as foreigners or they can come to Pakistan. Once he told, he never tolerate even the suggestion that Muslim and Hindu belonged to one country. Thus he swung from one extreme to other.

In regard to Sikhs demand, he proceeded to make a distinction between nation and sub-national groups, advising the latter to be content with, what could be expected from a civilized Government.

The division conflicted in Jinnah’s thought was reflected in princely states. On 25^th July 1944 he assured the ruler of Jammu and Kashmir, it was not the policy of the Muslim League to interfere in the administration of the state or to raise grave issues between the Maharaja’s Government and people.

But the words told by Jinnah were not kept by his successors, and Pakistan extremists activities are still going on daily in Jammu and Kashmir. Even to-day the dream of Gandhi for Hindu-Muslim unity never fulfilled.

In his first interview to the media since becoming RSS chief on March 21, 2009, the 59-year-old Mohan Madhukar Bhagwat spoke on the BJP’s leadership issues, changes in the RSS and the future of Hindutva.

He stressed that it was for the BJP to decide how and when to effect changes, but endorsed the need for a transition ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections and said this was required at “all levels” in the BJP.
Asked whether the BJP needed to switch to a younger leadership, he said, “Yes, but when... their privilege is. We have been saying to Advaniji since 2003 that you have sufficient young workers, bring them forward slowly.”

There is no necessity for B.J.P to shift to a young leadership, as L.K. Advani is the fittest person to lead the party with the assistance young party leaders. In the last parliament election B.J.P already gone down due to non participation of senior leader A.B.Vajpayee on health problem. We cannot forget that L.K.Advani only took up the election work, and even at this age he went on Day and Night tirelessly for propaganda for B.J.P. He now as a opposition party leader doing his best job. He is not shirking his job like other leaders by simply signing outside the Parliament and going to his house for sleep. L.K.Advani is a sincere leader with devotion to duty and country.

Lal Krishna Advani (L K Advani) is an Indian politician and a former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was born on November 8, 1927 in Karachi. He did his schooling at St. Patrick’s, Karachi. He later graduated in Law from Bombay University. In 1947, he was an RSS organizer of Karachi city. When Jana Sangh was founded by Dr. Mukherjee in 1951, he became its Rajasthan State Secretary. In 1958, he shifted to Delhi and became the Secretary of Delhi Jana Sangh. During the period, he was also Secretary of the Jana Sangh Parliamentary Group.

In 1966, he was elected the Chairman of the Delhi Metropolitan Council and in 1970, he became a member of the Rajya Sabha. He was elected the President of Jana Sangh in 1973. In 1977, he was appointed as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting in the Janata Government. The BJP was launched in 1980. For six years, Advani held the post of Party General Secretary. He was jailed in 1990 for his famous Ram Rathyatra. He served as the Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004 and is currently the leader of opposition in the 14th Lok Sabha.

Advani demonstrates that his path of Hindutva, Indianness or Bhartiyata always translated for him along the lines of “sab jaati mahaan, sab jaati samman” (all castes are great, all castes are equal). His autobiography “named as “My Country My life” crossed the One lakh mark from the date of its release.

It is the request of all Hindutva minded people that Shimla retrospective session of B.J.P should not ask Advani to leave his leadership and instruct the younger politicians to work under him with his guidance. In 1946 Jawaharlal Nehru was asked to form an interim Government by British rulers. At that time Jawaharlal Nehru issued a Statement to the press that India was “going to run by Indians, for the benefit of Indians, whatever the religion or creed they may belong to and in whatever province or part of India they live.” When the Congress party formed the interim Government, Jinnah who had refused to join hands with it.

In protest against the formation of an interim Government by Jawaharlal Nehru, the Muslim league called for “Direct Action” to achieve Pakistan. Addressing the Muslim league council in Bombay on 29th july1946, Jinnah threw all his pseudo-constitutional methods to the winds and proclaimed “This day we bid good-bye to the constitutional methods.”

On August 16th 1946,which the Muslim league celebrated as “Direct Action Day”, there was on appalling outbreak of rioting in Calcutta, lasting several days, and according to official estimates about 5000persons were killed and 15,000 injured. For four days Calcutta accordingly witnessed scenes of hoologanism and vulgarity which should have sobered Jinnah. Jaswant may aware of all these this happenings

Apparently the dream of Homeland for Muslims had little faith in their political liberty. As the First Governor-General of Pakistan, Jinnah assumed powers under the 9th schedule rather than part II of the 1935 Act, “Which gave him at once dictatorial powers unknown to any constitutional Governor-General representing the King.” The only freedom which politicians enjoyed in the Jinnah’s Pakistan was the freedom to malign India, and to nurse and propagate the illusion of an India determined to destroy Pakistan. The same propaganda is now continued in Pakistan.

In Pakistan which rose out of sea of blood, all absolute power was concentrated in the hands of one individual. Such was the structure of Jinnah’s thought and actions which laid the foundation of Pakistan and inevitably, furnished the Blue print for Pakistan policy towards India and its relations with other countries. At the root of his thinking lay the assumption that there was nothing in common between Hindus and Muslims. If such a view were accepted, the gulf between India and Pakistan could never be bridged.

On his Seventeenth birth day Jinnah said, “Both Hindus and Muslims in India were slave under the heel of British rulers. His party is fighting the British and not the Hindus. We have to get freedom and establish Pakistan from the British and not from Hindus.” This exactly what Gandhi also told.
Let Jaswant praise Jinnah, but the gulf between the Muslims and Hindus must be bridged.

Chennai Sunday Times in its issue dated 16-8-2009 stated,Coimbatore: With just three days left for the by-elections to five Assembly constituencies, widespread allegations of distribution of cash to voters have surfaced in Thondamuthur constituency in Coimbatore district.

As charges of cash distribution peaked on Friday morning, cadres of Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam besieged a vehicle carrying DMK cadres, who they claimed were distributing Rs 200 each to the voters at Poluvampatti village within the constituency.

Police arrested four Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam cadres for allegedly assaulting the DMK cadres, deflating the tyres of their jeep and damaging the windshields.

Meanwhile, a voter of the Molapalayam village, Shanmugasundaram lodged a police complaint that six DMK cadres offered him Rs 200 tucked inside a brown envelope.

Video tapes purportedly showing distribution of cash to voters were also handed over to the police. “We have registered a case against six DMK cadres from Namakkal for allegedly bribing voters,” said police inspector P Vaithilingam.

All the six DMK cadres, S Thennavan, K Balasubramaniam, D Raja, C Manoharan, D Suresh and jeep driver Siva are from Kolli hills in Namakkal district.

The byelection to Thondamuthur in western Tamil Nadu is witnessing a highstake battle as the DMK-Congress combine came a cropper in the recent Parliamentary elections.

The DMK has allotted the seat to its ally Congress, which is facing a tough fight from the Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam, which made considerable inroads
into the dominant Gounder votebank in western Tamil Nadu in the recent Parliamentary elections.

Amid a keen tussle between the Congress candidate, MN Kandasamy, and the Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam, R Easwaran, several voters in Thondamuthur received a surprise package at their doorsteps on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Reports said two soiled hundred rupee notes inside a 6.5 x 4 inch brown envelopes were left at the doorstep of the voters. In households where the voters were available, the envelopes were handed over as booth slips.

Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam leader ‘Best’ Ramasamy charged that those who bribed the voters went scot-free while four of his party cadres, Pathia Gounder, K Selvaraj, K Thangaraj and Vairavel, were arrested. “With such blatant distribution of cash, it is only right that the AIADMK decided to boycott the bypolls,”

his opinion in his writings in regard the Dravidian parties which developed in Tamil Nadu without any ideology. S.V.Ramani narrate some of writings thro his speeches for the information of Younger generations.

Periyar was born in the Town of Erode, Tamil Nadu to a wealthy Nayakar family. At a young age, he witnessed numerous incidents of racial, caste and gender discrimination. Periyar married when he was 19, and had a daughter who lived for only 5 months. His first wife, Nagammai, died in 1933. Periyar married Maniammai for a second time in July 1948 under the advice of Rajaji.

In 1939, Periyar became the head of the Justice Partyand in 1944, he changed its name to Dravidar Kazhagam. The party later due to marriage of Periyar with Maniammai, split and one group led by C. N. Annadurai formed the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in 1949.

Periyar E.V.Ramasamy, social reformer and a known atheist may not have been an atheist, after all. Information available thro Deccan Chronical News Paper dated 22-7-2009 which has indicated that he is said to have prayed to God to help the Kovai Sarvajna School flourish during his visit here in 1925.

His jottings in the visitors’ book of the school still remain a closely guarded secret. This is what was penned in the book: “kadavul ip palliukudathirku melum melum abivrithiku arul puriyattum” which means, ‘God should help this school grow.’ The DK founder goes on to add, “kudumbathirku ayul vrithiyum subikshamum kudukka prarthikkiren” — ‘I pray to God that the family (of PSG) should have long life and prosperity’.

Unveiling statues of Poet Valluvar and Poet Sarvajna.

To give a peaceful solution to both the people of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the better way to solve the situation is that if the Tamil saint, poet Thiruvalluvar statue was unveiled by the Karnataka Chief Minister B. S Yeddyurappa at Bangalore and the statue of Kannada saint, poet Sarvajna at Chennai by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. This will remove the fencing separating neighbours that exists between them.

It will also be a great pride for both the poets and the respective people, if their statues were unveiled and honoured by other Chief Ministers not belonging to their region and language.

It is our request, that in future, that unveiling of statues belonging to one state may be unveiled by other state leaders. This will create better relationship and national integrity between people of different languages.

All people want peace and harmony between neighbours.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi in his statement on 28-7-09 accused The Tamil Magazine “Ananda Vikatan for publishing a cartoon depicting his wife Dayalu Ammal. Stating that the Magazine is a “Parpanar Eadu” [Brahmin Magazine] and also told see how egotism that Agraharam [Brahmin Street] is having. He also accused stating that whether we won’t get any Ammami [Brahmin Lady] for depicting cartoon.

As a Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Karunanidhi has to safe guard the religion of all people as guaranteed by the Indian constitution. By the way of his talk against a particular community and accusing them by telling their caste is not justifiable according to the Indian constitution. Every citizen of India has a right to practice and promote their religions peacefully.

If Karunanidhi finds fault with the Magazine “Ananda Vikan” for publishing unwanted cartoon depicting his wife, he can take action according to the law.

By the way of his speech, Kalaignar Karunanidhi should not create rift between two castes. It is the duty of the Chief Minister to maintain the fundamental rights guaranteed by the country’s constitution. It is also our request to the Government of India, to protect the civil rights and to protect particularly the Brahmin communities in Tamil Nadu from any untoward happenings due to the Chief Minister’s speech
