I was happy for my student when I found out that she is now in Calgary, Alberta. She was one of my students at Iligan Capitol College High School Department in Philippines. Time really flies so fast!

It is nice to know that your student is successful too. Now that she is starting life abroad, it will not be easy at first. She will surely miss her family back home. Good thing that she isn't alone. She has Filipino friends too. I heard that is looking for apartments for rent in Calgary.

All the girls at work have been talking about “The Bachelor”. I know this is going to be hard to believe, but I have actually never watched it. I know they are probably on their twentieth season, but I just haven’t watched it. However, last month I got cheap direct tv and I think I am going to be watching a lot more television now. Before, I was a little cheap and would only watch through the internet. I guess that makes me a lot cheap. I found I had a lot more free time before television. I do love watching all the shows and being in the loop, but I think it is starting to become an obsession. I completely understand why people watch it all the time. I have to admit that it is great being able to contribute to all the office conversations. I am finally starting to feel like I fit in with my coworkers. I am pleased with my decision to get a real television and I am finally happy to know all there is to know about pop culture now.

Start From Scratch

It was sad knowing that your family was one of the victims of the mud flood caused by the storm Sendong or Washi. But we were thankful to God that the lives of my brother and his wife who is pregnant and will due in March, are safe. It was so scary when they woke up at 1am and the house was already flooded up to the knee. They were not in panic and with presence of mind they knew which way to go to get out of the house and find a safer place. It was so dark because the storm has caused a power interruption that made the whole city out of electricity. Thus, making the victims so difficult to save properties and even lives. Good thing our house has two levels so my brother and his wife went upstairs and were safe.

We pray for the souls who have been lost and taken by the storm. For the family, we feel sadness and we extend our deepest condolences to them. Hope things like this would never happen again. It has been a great loss for our city, Iligan City. I hope we can recover anytime soon. Bacud Iligan!

I have started watching the home shopping networks on direct.TV recently right before Christmas. I am usually running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to find Christmas gifts for everyone in my entire family ( including my husband) right when I get out of school before the holiday. This year I decided that I was going to have to change. I can’t handle the stress that comes with having nothing underneath the Christmas tree. I have actually gotten all of my Christmas shopping this year by just sitting on the couch. You would be surprised by how many cool things that they have on QVC and HSN. They have anything from house wares ( I got my mom a Waterford Christmas Bell) to makeup. I decided to get my sister a few different things from bareMinerals and also from Smashbox. She is always complaining that she doesn’t have any make up. I think that I will be shopping for birthdays, Christmas, etc. like this again. It is so easy and the gifts are great!

Typhoon Sendong

It is so sad and so depressing about what happened to my hometown Iligan City. It has been hit by a storm, Sendong, last December 16-17 and caused a great damage to the city. Also, the neighbor city, Cagayan the Oro, was affected. The number of dead people has reached 400+ now and it is now worst than the Luzon incident before. There are still missing and if you have seen the news, you can see that there are more kids who drowned and died. The survivors need so much help. Some don't have homes to live in, no food and water, no clothes. We are also victims of typhoon Sendong but we are so thankful that our love ones are safe. Our house is flooded too and all the things were not saved. Good thing that the house wasn't washed out, at least, we still have a house. We pray that the ones who really need help most will be helped. We are really in need of help. Please share your blessings and extend a helping hand to the victims of the flash flood in both cities. Scrubs as Gifts

Christmas is fast approaching! Are you ready for gift-giving? I am pretty sure that everyone is busy right now preparing their gifts for their love ones and friends. As for me, I am not sure yet what to give as a gift to my close relatives. I am thinking of scrubs as a gift since they work in a medical field. What do you think?

I checked this site, http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/ and they have scrubs for sale. I might consider shopping online especially now that there are a lot of people shopping for the holidays. I will probably get some cheap scrubs but nice online. The price doesn't matter. The thought counts the most. Even if it's cheap, these are for sure similar to the ones sold in store. The website has pretty ones and I can chose a variety of scrubs. These will be my gifts then. Hope they will like it.

Life in US

I was amazed with the kind of life we have here in the US. It's really different back home where I came from. I came from a different country so I can tell the big difference there is. Take for example the fastfood here. I was happy to know that I don't have to pay for softdrink refills but I have to clean up my garbage after dining in. I enjoy eating salad and bread that comes with the entree and the bottomless drinks. Also, there are plenty of food in one serving and I can even take home some. And there are so much more aside from the food.

Life here is so much better. Most homes have dishwashers, laundry washer and dryer, hot water, A/C units, sprinklers and more. We don't have these back home. We did our landry by hand and wash the dishes too by hands. I also like the way how the junk are removed. There are people that can help us such as the Shenandoah Junk removal. If you have junk to remove, just contact them. It's like everything we need is attainable. But of course, if we have money, it's easier. Still, life here is indeed beautiful. No wonder they call it as the land of milk and honey. But to some people, it's not anymore.

Dresses Online

I love shopping online! I think I have more than a dozen dresses now that I have bought online. I can tell that shopping is addictive especially if you get good deals on it. If I have a teenager daughter, she could have a bunch of dresses now that she can use for school gatherings. I know girls are excited for events like proms and acquaintance parties. I would love to buy her dresses and also let her use my dresses that I have saved in my closet. But if she doesn't wear plus size prom dresses, she can't wear the ones I have bought. Mommy is wearing large and plus size dresses now since after the birth of the second baby. Well, I can buy her size. Oh I can't wait for my baby girl to grow! So as for now, I enjoy myself looking and buying for dresses. I like checking and browsing online for good deals. I am excited for black Saturday. There are plenty of good deals and I bet a lot would be shopping then in stores or online. I prefer the latter since it's comfortable to stay at home and just shop online. What about you?

3 Months and Counting

My baby is 3 months old already! And she is smiling a lot now. I just heard her giggled yesterday with Daddy. Daddy is a good entertainer and he really makes her laugh a lot. She's getting heavier and taller. She will have another set of shots again in December. It will not be too painful to watch since she's not a newborn anymore. Unlike with the first shots that she was really crying with that newborn cry. It was too painful to watch her receiving the shots but it's for her sake. Anyway, she's a bit older now and she will be more okay getting those shots. Hope she won't get a fever again, she's a very strong and healthy baby. I am still very grateful, everyday, to God for giving us a baby girl. A beautiful bundle of joy!

Holloween Costumes

It was in August when I bought Halloween costumes for all of us in the family. I got two costumes for my son, daughter and me and one for my husband. I bought it online and I really got a good deal. I buy Halloween costumes ahead of time or after Halloween to get it in a cheaper prize. And shopping for me ahead of time is convenient to avoid the crowd.

I like shopping online because it is more convenient. I got this year's Halloween costumes online. I have checked a lot of websites online where I could buy costumes. One website that I have visited was womanwithin.com. They have plus size halloween costumes for me. I already bought costumes before I have visited the site though. I might visit again next time. We always have a party for the kids and it is fun. So every year we join the party and have the kids do the trunk or treat. The cars are all outside lining out with their trunk are opened and decorated with Halloween decoration. There are plenty of candies for kids and they really enjoy it. It is fun to see them in their Halloween costumes and collecting treats from each car. Till next Halloween then. I will again check out the websites and shop online.

It's very entertaining and full of fun to watch. I can't wait for the next episodes. You will love Jung Il Woo of 49 Days here as well as the main actress who is really funny, Lee Chung Ah. Also starring Lee Ki Woo, Kim Shin Ah and Jeong In-Gi.

Online degree programs are pretty common nowadays especially that we are living now in a high technology world. There are a lot of advancements in science and technology and online education is one of them. We can study at home and earn a degree without going to school.

Netflix

I love Netflix! I am glad of this new technology that let us watch our favorite movies and TV shows instantly on TV. Netflix online streaming is really cool and I really love it. I only don't like much the fees now. They have increased it. So I am deciding whether to let go of the DVDs and just pay for the online streaming only. We pay for both before for about $10 but now it's about $17. They separate the online streaming and the DVD fees. I like only to pay about $10 so I must let go of the DVDs. Anyway, we only get one dvd at a time and it takes 2-3 days to get it. While, in online streaming, we can watch instantly movies as many as we want. The latter is way much better. By the way, if your plan is to have more than 1 dvd in the mail, you pay more.

The Smoke

My husband and I was on our way home one night when I saw a big white smoke in the sky. Since it was dark, I asked hubby if he saw it too. The smoke location seemed like close to where we live so I was a bit worried. Then my husband said that it might came from a plant. We live in a hilly place and surrounded with oilfields. It is also a fact that we have plenty of plants around also agricultural fields. I was just worried because I saw a wildfire recently which is about 5 miles away from our place. It was stopped anyway but it was scary to see debris flying and fire slowly burning all the weeds on the ground up in the hills. So I was making sure where the smoke came from.

It also came to my mind about what was being burnt. They always have smoke in the air and how are they going to get rid of the ashes. Hubby told me that they have their own handling solutions. There are companies that move ashes like the United Conveyor Corporation for fly ash handling. The company is very helpful then to the people who need material handling solutions. I learned something from hubby again but then my thought was again about the smoke. Thank God it was just a smoke from a plant. And then we reached home.

Birdie Buddy

Birdie Buddy is another Korean drama where Uee is also the main actress. When I started watching it, I was hooked up with it. I don't like much golf but the actors are good and the story too. It reminds me of my family and the difficulties in life that we have been through. It is a nice story about a hardworking family and their dreams. I haven't finished watching it but I believe it is almost over. I was happy when I saw it on Netflix. I can watch it on TV now anytime. Birdie Buddy is also known as 버디버디 / Budi budi. I was surprised that it wasn't popular at Mysoju. Probably it's not only me that doesn't like much the sports golf. At first, I really thought it was a boring drama.

"Birdie Buddy" tells the story of former pro golfer John Lee (Lee Yong-Woo) and how he leads two to become the next golf queens. John Lee became the first Korean to win a PGA title. His background was a mystery and he was an adoptee. John Lee also excelled in the Afro-Brazilian dance/martial arts style known as "Capoeira". Have you heard of the electric cigarette? This is my first time that I have heard of it. We can really tell that the world is changing fast and its technology has become more and more unbelievable. I have heard of the electric car, and now we have this electric cigarette. Isn't it cool? That will help people decrease mortality rate. We all know the bad effects of these cigarettes so it would be helpful if we have the electric ones.

I am grateful that nobody in the family smokes. My husband stopped when he was younger and I don't smoke at all not even a taste of it. I don't like the smell of it. Maybe it's because I haven't tried it that is why I am so negative towards it. I'd rather drink than smoke but drink occasionally and responsibly. My brothers don't smoke too as well my Mother. Only my Father smoked occasionally but he seldom smokes now because of his old age. We always tell them the bad things that cigarette brings. If my dad is still smoking, I would like him to try this electric cigarette and give him the website thesafecig.com to read on. He might not want to do it but at least we have tried to help him. Might be better to bug him so he will get tired of us telling him to stop and possibly will make him try to do what's good for him, that is to stop smoking. Ojakgyo Brothers

I am not sure if Ojakgyo Brothers, also known as 오작교 형제들 / Ojakgyo Hyungjedeul, is a good drama. I have started watching it but did not finish the episode one. It was a bit boring for me but there's a part of me that been wanting to finish watching it. I might if I am done with my other dramas which are really good like Poseidon and The Musical. I like the main actress here. She is with Birdie Buddy too which I started watching. It wasn't a bad drama. I just get bored with the later episodes but it did touched me at the beginning of the story. It was like this drama, about family and their dreams. I might continue watching this drama because I like the main actors too. Starring in this drama are Baek Il Sub, Jung Woong In, Ryu Soo Young, Uee, and Joo Won. The drama is about a story of a family with four sons who live together with their relatives on a farm near Seoul. Hwang Tae Hee is the third son and a policeman who falls in love with a girl named Baek Ja Eun. Baek Ja Eun is a haughty young woman who only believes in her pretty looks and is quick to flare up in anger. Try watching this drama and you might like it. Mysoju

Collecting pins is one of my hobbies. When I was still in Philippines, I collected pins in both easy and difficult ways. I got pins from friends and also got pins from the organizations where I was involved with. I even have nursing pins from friends who are nurses. They gave it to me as remembrance when I left Philippines. They can order it again anytime from where they got it or get it again online like the Pinmart.com.

I like any kind and type of pins. I take good care of the pins I received from friends. Usually these are pins which have themes, graphics, sayings and even dried plants. These are so special to me especially the ones that I got from working hard. Pins that acknowledge your achievements are so important to me. I have a few from the organizations I was in, the Rotaract Club, the Rotary Club and the Toastmasters. When I left Philippines, I brought with me all my pins. This is to remind me of all the good things I have experienced with my friends in Philippines. Collecting Pins is really worth it!

Dentistry

I just received a call from our dentist reminding us for our teeth cleaning. It is already more than 6 months since we had our teeth cleaned. I had a deep-cleaning after an xray has been made. My husband and I went at the dental clinic together and he had his teeth cleaned too, just the normal teeth cleaning. I am not sure if we will be taken an xray again but a cleaning is really needed.

So we haven't scheduled our cleaning yet but it will be soon. I like the doctors at the clinic so we aren't planning to change dentists. Wish we could just set the schedule online. I am not sure if they have a website. I was searching for dentists but only San Antonio Dentistry came on display. I read some good information about it and if I am living in San Antonio, Texas, I might consider this clinic. Their website is very informative and nice. If we go to our dental clinic here in our area, I will surely ask for their website too if they have. It is nice to browse the net and their site ahead of time. It is convenient too to set appointments online anytime.

Hero is an old Korean Drama that I just finished watching. I heard about it before but didn't care about it. When I started watching it since it is availbale on Netflix, I have liked the story. Hero is the story of Korea's top reporters and ordinary citizens fighting against the society elite's abuse of power. Working as a reporter for a racy tabloid called the Monday Seoul, Jin Do Hyuk uses any means necessary to get a scoop. One day, he goes to interview Jo Yong Deok, the boss of the Axe gang, who suggests that they start their own newspaper. Do Hyuk lies about the credentials of his former co-workers when he introduces them to Jo Yong Deok as potential hires for the newspaper venture. With his former co-workers on board, he is able to launch the Yongdeok Daily together with Yong Deok. But the newly hired reporters soon find themselves sucked into a huge conspiracy that could utterly ruin their lives. It has a happy ending and I really like it. It is not that popular on Mysujo site but this dramedy is really entertaining. I am glad I watched it. I like the actors/actresses: Lee Jun Ki, Shin Joo Ah, Uhm Ki Joon, Yoon So Yi, and Baek Yoon Shik. Hero is also known as 히어로 / Hero / Unseen Warfare / Strange Heroes. A drama broadcasted in November, 2009.

If you are an action drama fan, Poseidon may be perfect for you. It is a new Korean drama starring Choi Si Won, Jin Hee Kyung, Kil Yong Woo, Lee Sung Jae and Lee Si Young. This drama tells about Kim Sun Woo (CSW), who spent his school days as a troublemaker, decides to make a change in his life and joins the sea special attack team, which is called Poseidon. Sun Woo works as a promising commando, but he unexpectedly becomes entangled in an unsavory incident after 2 years. He is demoted and is sent to a maritime police office in Gunsan city. Sun Woo’s passion cools down and he slowly loses his vision as a maritime policeman. Then one day, Jung Ryul, who has formed a new crime investigation section in Incheon city, visits Sun Woo and asks him to join the team. Poseidon has 16 episodes and you'll gonna like each.

Holiday Shopping

Holidays are coming up. I am sure there are a lot of people who are so excited to shop. Sales will be everywhere. I am thinking if I should shop in store or just shop online. I need more new clothes to wear.

I got used with online shopping already because it's convenient for me who just have a newborn baby girl. Plus I am nursing her and when she gets hungry, I need to sit at a corner to feed her. But the problem with online shopping is that I am not sure of the clothing size I need to buy. If I shop for clothes, I need to fit it. I think I can't wear Large size clothes now. I gained 6 lbs after giving birth and I was wearing Large sizes before. I may now need plus size suits since my old clothes do not fit me well now. If that is so, I need to change the clothes in my closet and get rid of it. Then buy new clothing sizes for this season and so on. So I am weighing my decision if I should go to the store for the Holidays to shop or just sit at my chair and use the computer. Which is which? I might try both!
