While some necklines tend to accentuate their fuller body appearance, some lend an illusion of a baggy silhouette. But that doesn’t mean that plus size ladies have to fritter away their winter wearing shawls, comforters or traditional cardigans. They can also pull off the trendiest winter look by following some simple rules. Here are some fashion tips to find the right sweater style for your plus size figure:

1. Cowl-loose necklines

The cowl-loose swooping neckline looks incredibly flattering on plus size fashionistas. For women who wish to camouflage their fuller chest, such necklines can easily create an impression of a lesser bust. Whether you are off to ski lodge or just getting ready for your first date, sweaters featuring such necklines are perfect for every occasion.

2. V-necklines

A sweater with the V-neck cut allows plus size ladies with fuller bust to flaunt their cleavage. Besides imparting the feeling of warmth to the wearer, these necklines also look incredibly sexy. However, make sure that your sweater isn’t long enough, or such neckline might work against you. For the fall’s most coveted look, team up your V-neck sweater with leggings or loosely fitted trousers.

3. Sweetheart necklines

Plus size women have to deal with unsymmetrical figure. Either they own fuller upper-half or they don’t have a defined waistline. So, if you are not well-endowed with admirable features, sweaters with sweetheart necklines can certainly work in your favor. They are best at creating an appearance of curves and slightly smaller bust.

4. Button down cardigans

To induce modesty and sophistication through your figure, consider button down cardigans. They are helpful in hiding broad hips or larger rumps and even extended tummy areas. However, when buying such sweaters, be sure to select the long ones that fall right above your knees. Long button down sweaters or cardigans will allow you to wrap up your problematic areas and show off your best assets.

5. Turtle neck

Turtleneck sweaters remain the fall favorite again; and even plus size ladies can shop for such sweater style. This sweater is a great option to slim a rounder face, instantly minimize the appearance of bust and elongate the torso. When wearing a turtleneck sweater, pull off a pony hairstyle or bun to look slimmer than your size. But, if you have a large face or neck, it’s advisable to wear something that features cowl or scoop neckline.

6. Embroidered necklines

Whatever necklines you love wearing, it’s always helpful to opt for sweaters that sport charming details and embroidery near the neckline. Wearing such necklines will shift away the focus from your waistline and bulky legs.

7. Necklines to avoid

Plus size women should refrain from donning tweak, ruffled or strapless cut necklines as they hardly look flattering on such figure type. Also, they highlight your shortcomings and often reveal what you want to hide. Moreover to shrink unnecessary pounds, don’t wear sweaters tucked underneath your pants or skirts.
