The movie stars out actors Jonathan Groff and Denis O’Hare, alongside Corey Stoll, Dean Stockwell, Casey Wilson and Troian Bellisario. Directed by 29-year-old Kyle Patrick Alvarez and based on the writings of David Sedaris, C.O.G. (which stand for Children Of God) follows recent college graduate David (Groff), who decides to get close to nature, and the working class, by spending a summer picking apples in Oregon with his friend Jennifer.

Even after she blows him off, he charges ahead on a picaresque journey that takes him from orchard to processing plant to an arts and crafts workshop, guided along the way by an increasingly eccentric and motley bunch of mentors. Whether trying to interpret the possible flirtations of co-worker Curly (Stoll) or resisting the religious hard-sell from Bible-thumping Jon (O’Hare), David finds himself on the most complicated path of all — figuring out who he is and what he wants.

Outfest has also revealed it’s going to hand its 17th annual Achievement Award to writer/director Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss, Carrie). The Achievement Award is Outfest’s highest honour and is presented in recognition of a body of work that has made a significant contribution to LGBT film and media.

It will be given to Pierce at the Outfest Opening Night Gala at The Orpheum, Los Angeles. The rest of the Outfest programme will be revealed in June.

After The Expendables 2 and with brother Chris showing off his skills in Thor, younger bro Liam is keen to show off his action skills, as Deadline reports that he’s signed up to star as a fighter pilot in Aurora Rising.

Christian Gudegast has written the script, which will see Hemsworth playing a surfer turned military pilot who proves he’s got what it takes on his first combat mission. He gets recruited to an elite team who are testing the next generation of aircraft. When an international conflict breaks out, he’s called to fight.

No director is attached as yet.

It’s a busy year for Hemsworth who has Paranoia coming out later in the summer and will be seen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in November.

Liam Hemsworth Takes On Fighter Pilot Thriller Aurora Rising from Big Gay Picture Show

John Travolta is still set to star as Gambino family crime boss John Gotti, with Kelly Preston portraying the teflon don’s wife, Victoria Gotti. The story follows Gotti and his son, who wants to leave the family business to start fresh on his own. Lindsay Lohan and Ben Foster were previously attached to star, but it doesn’t seem like they’re involved anymore.

Leo Rossi and Lem Dobbs wrote the screenplay, based on an original idea by John Gotti Jr.. Shooting is scheduled to begin in New York this September.

Anthony Hopkins Joins John Travolta In Revived Gotti Biopic from Big Gay Picture Show

No story details have been revealed yet, but Michael Arndt (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Toy Story 3) is currently working on the screenplay. We don’t know what role Meyers might play, but it’s possible he’d play the child of Han Solo and Princess Leia, or indeed Luke Skywalker’s son (they’re not sticking to the previously established post Return Of The Jedi mythology, so it’s impossible to narrow it down further).

Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher should all be back. Shooting will begin in early 2014 in the UK.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Rumored For Star Wars: Episode VII from Big Gay Picture Show

He’s now announced that Kate Hudson will play the female lead in of the movie. He released the image above to accompany the announcement. He also revealed a bit about who she’ll play in a statement of Kickstarter:

‘The character of Sarah (my wife) needs to be pretty, funny, believable as a mother of two children ages 5 and 12 and an actress who’s skilled at both comedy and drama.

I fell in love with Kate Hudson when I first saw her in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous. (She was nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of Penny Lane.)

‘Years later, we have become good friends. There’s an added benefit in already being close with the actor playing opposite you; a familiarity that’s real and isn’t forced. As we shoot in August, I loved the idea of jumping into this movie-marriage with someone with whom I’ve already shared lots of laughs.

The film is about Braff’s Aidan Bloom, a struggling actor who can’t quite provide for his family. When his father (Mandy Patinkin) becomes ill, he reluctantly agrees to home-school his father’s young children, which forces him to learn a lot about himself in the process.

We still don’t know who Dinklage will play, although some are saying the moustache he’s sporting suggest he’ll play Bolivar Trask, creator of the Sentinels that cause all manner of trouble for the Patrick Stewart era mutants, and result in a bit of time-travelling to get James McAvoy and crew to prevent something happening that will cause the Sentinels to be needed in the first place.

The movie is out summer 2014.

The project is based on the novel Firing Point by Don Keith and George Wallace, which follows a new submarine captain who must work with a Navy SEAL unit to rescue the Russian president, and stop a rogue Russian general from starting World War III.

Jamie Moss (Street Kings), Arne Schmidt (The Express), and John Kolvenbach wrote the adapted screenplay. It’s not clear when it might shoot.

The film itself look at how the advent of the 24-hour news cycle in the early 80s affect the old-fashioned Burgundy.

It’s shooting now for a Christmas release.

Now he’s returning with The Young and Prodigious Spivet, which is both his first 3D film and his first movie set in the US. Based on the book The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet by Reif Larsen, the film is about ‘A 12-year-old cartography enthusiast in an eccentric family, who travels across country hidden on board a freight train after being invited to the Smithsonian Institute.’

The movie stars Helena Bonham Carter, Kathy Bates, Judy Davis, Callum Keith Rennie. No release date it currently set, but it should be in cinemas later this year.

Last July it was revealed that Fright Night’s Tom Holland was planning to adapt the Stephen King novella The Ten O’Clock People, taken from the collection Nightmares And Dreamscapes. At the time, it appeared Justin Long was going to star, with shooting due to take place last September.

That didn’t happen and now it seems Long is off the project, and according to Deadline, Chris Evans may sign up instead and finally get the movie off the ground.

The movie will bring the 1993 story up to date, with Evans in talks to play Brandon Pearson, who attempts to quit smoking, but uncovers unknown and terrifying aspects of reality that you can only see if you’re trying to kick the habit. He realises that many of those in positions of power aren’t really human, and are instead inhuman monsters.

The hope is to shoot in Atlanta this autumn.

Transformers 4 is also keen to get in on the action and has promised to include a large number of Chinese actors, including one who’s being found via a reality TV contest. However now the first proper actor from China has been cast, Binbing Li.

There’s no news on who she will play, or indeed how China fits into the plot of the movie. The country is believed to play a fairly large part in film and scenes will be shot there. Bingbing Li will also be seen next year as Blink in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, so she’s going to have quite a blockbuster 2014.

The non-Chinese cast for Transformers 4 film includes Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles.

The miners spent 69 days trapped underground after a cave-in, while workers on the surface worked around-the-clock the rescue them. Antonio Banderas will be portraying Mario Sepulveda, the charismatic miner also known as Super Mario. Martin Sheen and Rodrigo Santoro are also attached to star.

Patricia Riggen is directing from a script by Mikko Alanne and Jose Rivera.

That’s roughly in line with what JJ Abrams first Star Trek movie took when it opened in 2009. While it’s a fairly big haul, many are still seeing it as a disappointment, as many had expected to open in the $100 million range. However it’s doing better overseas, so is still likely to end up grossing a fair amount more that the earlier movie overall.

It’s also going to face a challenge keeping its US gross up in the coming weeks, with competition such as Hangover III and Face & Furious 6 heading into cinemas in the next few days.

The film is out in the US in August 2nd, but no UK date has been set yet.

The film is based on Bill Granger’s novel, ‘There Are No Spies’ which follows an ex-CIA agent (Pierce Brosnan) who goes up against his former protégé (Luke Bracey) in a race against time to find a woman (Olga Kurylenko) who holds the key to a vast conspiracy.

Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job) is set to direct from a screenplay by Michael Finch (Predators) and Karl Gajdusek (Oblivion). ‘There Are No Spies’ is the seventh novel in Bill Granger’s 13-book November Man series.

Olga Kurylenko Joins Pierce Brosnan In The Spy Thriller November Man from Big Gay Picture Show

Washington will play Robert McCall, a former intelligence officer who now lives a solitary existence while holding down a job at Home Depot. He is forced to spring back into action when an act of kindness towards a teenage prostitute (Chloe Moretz) lands him in hot water with the Russian mafia. Marton Csokas will play a deadly fixer for the Russian mob.

Antoine Fuqua is set direct from a screenplay by Richard Wenk (The Expendables 2). The movie is based on the 1980s TV series The Equalizer, starring Edward Woodward. Production is scheduled to begin this summer in Boston.

Morrison has also made a video for the HRC, which you can watch above. The Human Rights Campaign is the largest LGBT advocacy organization in the US, with the Glee star stepping forward to support their Americans for Marriage Equality campaign.

In a statement, Morrison says, “I’m thrilled to join HRC in their vital work to bring full equality to all Americans. At this decisive moment, when there is so much work still ahead, I’m standing with HRC and LGBT people across the country until this fight is won.”

Morrison’s new solo album, Where it All Began, is out in the US in June. It features an assortment of classic standards, including many from Broadway musicals.

However, while Douglas was fine with kissing an man-on-man sex, there was one thing he thought went too far – 14-inch penises!

In a profile in New York Magazine, he says, “Liberace loved sex, and I didn’t have a problem with that. But, at one point, Steven Soderbergh wanted to show Lee [which is what Liberace was known as to his friends] watching a gay porno. I said, ‘I’d like my kids to see this R-rated movie, but I don’t want to show them a 14-inch dick!’ It was the only thing I objected to, so we cut to different parts of the apartment during the porno… It may not have been 14 inches, but it was huge.”

So if you’d been hoping for full-on porn from the film, you have Douglas to blame for the fact you’re not getting any.

Behind The Candelabra will air on HBO in the US on May 27th, and will reach UK cinemas on June 7th.

Now a slew of images have popped up online from the film, via BoyCulture, showing just what sexy specimen David’s movie follows.

“With the success of Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike the obvious next step was to meet the real deal and ask the hard questions, pardon the pun,” says the film’s director, Charlie David. “Is it about money?  Is it a sexual turn-on?  How did they get here?  What do their families and friends think?  Do they take their work home with them?  How much do they make?  The answers are often surprising.”

Crush Of The Day: The Men Of Charlie David’s I’m A Stripper from Big Gay Picture Show

Things get complicated when a woman (Talulah Riley) comes across them just after Roy has committed the dirty deed. She’s a loose end that could possibly see both of them in jail, and so protocol says she needs to be killed too. Things aren’t as simple as they seem though, as Adam may not have just been sent to chauffeur and the woman who witnesses what they’re up to may not be a random passer-by.

The Liability is an intriguing movie that doesn’t quite work. It attempts to balance various different genres and ideas but rather than pulling together into something entertaining and cohesive, they all feel a bit disparate and as if the film isn’t quite sure what it’s doing. One moment it’s incredibly dark and nasty, the next it’s essentially a slow indie art film. There are scenes of pitch black comedy (it’s a shame there aren’t more, as these are the most effective bits of the film) and others where it feels like it’s slipping into generic gangster territory. Sometimes films can balance multiple styles, but with The Liability they tend to work against one another.

Roth and O’Connell make a decent pair, which is a good job as fairly long stretches of the movie involve them driving around talking. However what they’re surrounded by is watchable but a little unbalanced. It doesn’t help that even though it’s only 82 minutes long, there are chunks that feel like they’re slow padding, not least the beginning. Peter Mullan is a great actor, but the 15 minutes where he’s running around being a nasty piece of work at the start feels laboured. We get everything we need to know in about five minutes, and then it’s just sitting around waiting for the film proper to start.

The Liability is certainly not all bad, but it’s not great either.

Overall Verdict: A brave attempt to make a dark Brit thriller that offers something different, but it’s different style and genres elements don’t come together. Tim Roth is good though.

However, upon arriving, the four quickly realize that the decades have transformed Sin City and tested their friendship in ways they never imagined. The Rat Pack may have once played the Sands and Cirque du Soleil may now rule the Strip, but it’s these four who are taking over Vegas.’

Here’s the synopsis: ‘It’s been two years. Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Doug (Justin Bartha) are happily living uneventful lives at home. Tattoos have been lasered off, files purged. The last they heard from disaster-magnet Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong), he’d been tossed into a Thai prison and, with him out of the way, the guys have very nearly recovered from their nights prowling the seamy side of Las Vegas in a roofie’d haze, and being kidnapped, shot at, and chased by drug- dealing mobsters in Bangkok.

‘The only member of the Wolfpack who’s not content is Alan (Zach Galifianakis). Still lacking a sense of purpose, the group’s black sheep has ditched his meds and given in to his natural impulses in a big way-which, for Alan, means no boundaries, no filters and no judgment-until a personal crisis forces him to finally seek the help he needs.

‘And who better than his three best friends to make sure he takes the first step. This time, there’s no bachelor party. No wedding. What could possibly go wrong? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off. One way or another…it all ends here.’

The Hangover Part III Red-Band Trailer – The boys are back and as rude as ever from Big Gay Picture Show

Now Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (The Celluloid Closet, Howl, Lovelace) are planning a biopic about her, and THR reports they’ve signed up Uma Thurman for the lead role.

Bryant started out as a former Miss Oklahoma who became a singer, scoring a few minor hits in the late 50s and early 60s. After that she was known for starring in commercials, particularly for orange juice. However in the mid-70s she led a campaign against a Dade County, Florida ordinance that would have banned discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

This made her the poster-girl of the anti-gay movement, and for several years afterwards she travelled the country trying to strike down any laws that would make life better for homosexuals. Her name soon became synonymous in the gay community with bigotry and homophobia.

However her campaigning hurt her business interests and entertainment career. She lost her job as the advertising spokeswoman for the Florida Citrus Commission after gay people organised a boycott of orange juice (many bars removed screwdrivers from their menu and replaced it with the ‘Anita Bryant’, which was vodka and apple juice). She also got divorced, which harmed her standing with some fundamentalist Christians, who’d previously been her biggest supporters but many of whom don’t believe in divorce.

By the 1990s attempts to revitalise her career – including opening a venue where she sang and preached about her Christian beliefs – failed and she went bankrupt. Since then, while she’s been less publicly visible, she’s still been active, including heading up her own ministry.

The film’s screenplay comes from Chad Hodge, a gay man who managed to get Bryant to agree to meet with him, despite the fact she’s generally tried to shun the controversies of her past (she hasn’t changed her mind, she just wants to be known for other things). They apparently got on well and he forced her to confront her past. It’s believed the movie will cover both her anti-gay campaigning and this later meeting.

There’s no news on when it might shoot.

Uma Thurman Takes On A Biopic Of Anti-Gay Campaigner Anita Bryant from Big Gay Picture Show

Whether Braff was right or not, he’s now busy filling out the cast. Mandy Patinkin signed up earlier this week, and now TheWrap reports that Anna Kendrick has also signed up to star.

The film is about 35-year-old Aidan (Zach Braff), an actor who is struggling to provide for his family. When his ailing father (Mandy Patinkin) can no longer afford to pay for his young children’s private school, Aidan reluctantly agrees to home school them, learning a lot about himself in the process.

Josh Gad is set to to play Aidan’s brother, who falls for a young woman (Kendrick) who enjoys cosplay. It’s also been suggested Jim Parsons and Braff’s Scrubs co-star Donald Faison should appear.

Kendrick’s next movie is the comedy Rapture-palooza, which hits cinemas this summer. It’s about the people left behind when the biblical Rapture comes, taking the righteous to Heaven and leaving everyone else to deal with the end of times. A new poster has now popped up online, which you can see below.

Anna Kendrick Joins Zach Braff’s Wish I Was Here from Big Gay Picture Show

Now someone else has entered talks to show off their singing skills in the movie, as Variety reports that Emily Blunt is in final talks for one of the lead roles. Into The Woods follows a baker and his wife who try to break a curse placed that’s left them childless, by confronting the witch (Streep) who caused their trouble in the first place. Assuming she signs on the dotted line, Blunt will be the baker’s wife.

Rob Marshall is set to direct, with filming kicking off later this year. There’s also still plenty of space for more movie stars doing a musical turn, as the likes of Rapunzel, Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood are still to be cast.

Emily Blunt May Go Into the Woods Alongside Meryl Streep & Johnny Depp from Big Gay Picture Show

Broken City scripter Brian Tucker wrote the screenplay, which is about an assassin who gets poisoned and must race against the clock to find a cure, to get his revenge before he ‘expires’. So it’s basically DOA, except with a hitman.

No director is set yet, although it’s reported that negotiations are underway with somebody who’s name has not yet been revealed. There’s still some time to sort all that out, as the script is still being worked on and it’s unlikely to start shooting until next year.

Bruce Willis Up For Ticking Clock Thriller Expiration from Big Gay Picture Show

The screenplay is based on Iron Knight, Silver Vase by Du Lu Wang, book 5 in the Crane-Iron Pentalogy series, on which the original Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was based. John Fusco (Forbidden Kingdom, Hidalgo, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron) is on screenplay dut.

Producer Harvey Weinstein commented, “I loved Ang Lee’s film. I thought it was a master class in directing, but I know we are in fantastic hands with Woo-ping Yuen directing the second installment of Crouching Tiger. Master Yuen worked with me on Iron Monkey, Kill Bill and now The Grandmaster. He is a first-class director and choreographer, and I am thrilled to be teaming up with him once more. With John Fusco’s incredible script and the dream team of Donnie Yen and Michelle Yeoh we are in great shape.”

Gerard Butler

When The Raven was first announced, Liam Hemsworth was attached to star. He’s no longer involved and it looks like the producers are going a little older to find a replacement, as TheWrap reports that Gerard Butler is in talks to star in the sci-fi flick.

Ricardo de Montreuil is set to direct the film, which is about a man with incredible, super-human talents, who is on the run from robotic cop drones in downtown Los Angeles, while a police ship hovers in the sky, coordinating the chase.

The plan is to start shooting later this year.

The money will be used to complete principal photography, which is due to begin in July in Washington State.

The film’s synopsis says, ‘Colby’s dad knows his son is gay, but he doesn’t like talking about. He respects it, but ignores everything about that aspect of his son’s life – he doesn’t even know about Colby’s long-term boyfriend, Rusty.

‘Increasingly committed to Rusty, Colby hatches a plan to trick his father into camping with Rusty under the pretense that Rusty is Colby’s straight friend and future business partner. Colby is convinced that, given the chance, his father and his boyfriend will get along great…’ Chuck Sigars, Jake Street, Arthur Allen and Ellen McLain are set to star.

The film will be the directorial debut of Arthur Allen, a Seattle performer who decided to leave the theatre behind during the recession of 2008. After spending some time washing windows on the Space Needle, he decided to join the US Merchant Marine. It was during his years on ships that he wrote Winning Dad – greatly influenced by the male-dominated culture he found there.

The film hopes to take a look at how the narrative of the LGBT struggle in America will change after marriage equality is achieved, as well as tackling the generation gap that divides the country’s stances on issues of LGBT equality. (Washington State began to offer same sex marriage late last year after a popular vote approved the measure).

Director Arthur Allen describes the heart of the film as accepting complexity. “It doesn’t matter what kind complexity we’re talking about. I think that as a country, complexity terrifies us. We like things to be, if not simple, at least consistent, and homosexuality and the entire LGBT spectrum is a direct threat to that because it’s specifically complex, and that’s what the movie is about: finding a gentle way to make everybody comfortable with their own complexity and with other people’s complexity.”

Sanada plays Shingen Yashida, a Japanese Yakuza crime boss who disgraces his family name by turning his clan into a criminal empire. He inevitably comes up against Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

Where The Bears Are: Season 2 Trailer – The beefy web series is back from Big Gay Picture Show

Baz has now returned with his controversial version of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s American classic, The Great Gatsby.

What’s important with this particular adaptation is not the story itself (although it is a good story), but how Baz goes about his own unique way of interpreting the classic. I’m sure there will be many who will be angry with this adaptation of the American Literary classic, while others will be enchanted. In a nutshell it’s a tragic romantic triangle told from the point of Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire, who’s essentially playing the Ewan McGregor character from Moulin Rouge). He’s the cousin of Daisy, who is the married love interest of Gatsby.

As I expected from seeing Moulin Rouge, the first 40 minutes is an overload of audio and visual stimulation, bordering on excessive at times. The movie is often overpowering, with edgy scenes that jump along erratically. There’s also plenty of overly familiar sweeping camerawork zooming in on windows from far away locations.

Within those first 40 minutes we are introduced to all the characters and given subtle glimpses of the elusive Gatsby, all set against the backdrop of modern interpretations of jazz from the likes of Jay-Z, Beyonce, Emilie Sande and Lana Del Rey. Then the decadent parties start, filled with excessive alcohol, flapper girls, fireworks and stunning costumes aplenty. The roaring twenties are brought to life Baz Luhrmanm style, which is very reminiscent of his party scenes in Romeo and Juliet and Moulin Rouge, but with a bigger budget. To be honest, at this stage I was beginning to feel that Luhrmann is a one trick pony.

However if you stick with the film and take away the Jazzmatazz, we are gradually introduced to a glorious and beautiful looking film, which looks well worth the 100+ million dollar budget. Every character is treated as a thing of beauty, none more than Carey Mulligan (Daisy) and the smouldering and charismatic DiCaprio as Gatsby. His mysterious layers are slowly peeled away to reveal the very human man behind the huge wealth and obsession.

Overall Verdict: The film is a visual treat (reminiscent of Dick Tracy at times, especially the car chases), the casting is pretty solid – especially DiCaprio – and the film could have been a lot worse if it hadn’t ensured it offered heart and story under the visual spectacle. Expect it to pick up a couple of Oscars, certainly in the costume and art direction department. That said this is a film that will strongly divide opinion.

However, if you’ve ever want to see what James looks like getting a blowjob from a skeleton, this is your lucky guy. I also have to say, I’m liking his guns.

Crush Of The Day: James Franco By Terry Richardson For GQ from Big Gay Picture Show

Reginald (Tom Courtenay), Wilf (Billy Connolly) and Cissie (Pauline Collins) live in the Beacham House retirement home for musicians. They’re pottering along, preparing for an annual concert to celebrate Verdi’s birthday. Things are shaken up with the arrival of Jean Horton (Maggie Smith), a former opera star who still possesses more than a few diva-ish qualities. Reginald is less than happy to see her, as they were once married but it ended very badly.

Wilf, Cissie, Reg and Jean’s decades-old performance of Verdi’s Rigoletto is considered to be the definitive post-war rendition, and with the concert coming up a plan is hatched to get them to perform the quartet ‘Bella figlia dell’amore’ from the opera. However Reginald wants nothing to do with Jean and is furious she’s even been allowed to move into the home. She meanwhile doesn’t want to do any singing, as she used to ‘be somebody’ and worries what people will think of her now.

Quartet is a charming film and while not a huge amount really happens, it works thanks to the strong characters played by some of Britain’s greatest actors. It also doesn’t hurt that Hoffman filled out the residents of the old folks home with real aging musicians, adding an air of authenticity to proceedings.

The film should also be commended for [Minor Spoiler Alert] being a film about elderly people, which doesn’t end up copping out by having one of its main characters keel over to add easy pathos [spoilers end]. Indeed it does a great job of illuminating the challenges of getting old without resorting to presenting the elderly as pathetic people in need of pity.

The Blu-ray offers a nice, crisp picture, showing off the sunny visuals and very English setting of the movie. The audio is also nice and clear, which is handy for a film about music.

The features include several making of featurettes, which prove fairly enlightening, including letting us know what attracted Hoffman to the movie in the first place. There’s also a very entertaining set of outtakes, some decent deleted scenes and a set of extended interviews.

Overall Verdict: Quartet may not be filled with thrills and action, but shows that with good characters, buckets of charm and great actors, you can still make an extremely entertaining film.

Quartet (Blu-ray) from Big Gay Picture Show

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In Rio 2, we find Blu, Jewel and their three kids living the perfect domesticated life in that magical city. When Jewel decides the kids need to learn to live like real birds, she insists the family venture into the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit in with his new neighbors, he worries he may lose Jewel and the kids to the call of the wild. Brazilian music legend and Rio executive music producer Sergio Mendes also returns along with composer John Powell. Rio 2 will feature new Brazilian artists and original music by Janelle Monáe and The Wondaland Arts Society, who also voices a role in the film.’

Carlos Saldanha returns to direct, with the voice actors including returnees Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Jemaine Clement, will.i.am, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto, Jake T. Austin and Jamie Foxx, along with new cast members Andy Garcia, Bruno Mars, Kristin Chenoweth, Rita Moreno, Amandla Stenberg, Rachel Crow, Pierce Gagnon and Natalie Morales.

Here’s the plot synopsis: ‘In the film, the infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

‘The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.’

It should hit cinemas this autumn.

Riddick Trailer – Vin Diesel is back in sci-fi fantasy land from Big Gay Picture Show

As you may have guessed from the title, the film is set in Europe and follows an American backpacker (Efron) who ends up becoming a driver for a pan-European drug cartel. After accidentally getting involved in a rival gang’s scam that goes wrong, he is forced to flee at breakneck speed down Germany’s autobahns, hoping to stop his girlfriend (Heard) being taken hostage.

Eran Creevy will direct from a script he co-wrote with F. Scott Frazier. There’s no news on when it might shoot.
