Nikki Sixx to Release a Book and a Solo Album

Apparently, Motley Crue bassist and song writer, Nikki Sixx, is also an author. He is releasing a book entitled the Heroin Diaries. I'm not entirely sure what it is going to be about. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. The Solo album he is releasing will actually compliment the book, or vice versa. There will be one song for each chapter. It's an interesting concept. I'm sure I'll find myself buying the album and the book.

The first song from the album is already available for download on the Heroin Diaries MySpace page.

You’ve heard about how OZZFEST is boldly redefining the concert industry this year by making all the tickets to the summer’s premiere touring concert festival entirely free for fans.

Well, Ozzfest fans have a number of ways to score a pair of tickets to “FreeFest”--which will rock mightily with festival’s namesake OZZY OSBOURNE and Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Lordi, Behemoth, Mondo Generator, Nile, Ankla, Circus Diablo, The Showdown, 3 Inches of Blood, Daath, Chthonic and In This Moment.

Mark St. John dies from brain hemorrhage

For you life-long KISS fans, if you weren't already aware, Mark St. John died last Thursday of a brain hemorrhage. He was only 51 years old. St. John played on Animalize, helping reinvigorate KISS's place in rock-n-roll. RIP. He will be missed.

Just read a post on Hairband.com that Guns-n-Roses is going on tour in Australia. Uh. . . the only original member in this tour is Axel. Can you really call that Guns-n-Roses? Maybe just Gu or Ro or -n-, but not G'N'R. Oh well, Sebastian Bach and Rose Tattoo will be there which could make it more interesting.

Thanks to Hard Rock Hideout, I found the link to the Rock Fever (aka Rocklahoma) web site. The 3 Day rock festival is set for July 13th - 15th in Pryor, OK and boasts a line up that includes Great White, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, Poison, Vince Neil, Tesla, and a whole lot more! A lot of the site's sections are still not complete. But you can at least buy tickets. What a line up!

This is worth the gas to get to Oklahoma. According to Hair-Band.com, some of the bands rumored to be playing at Rocklahoma are Bulletboys, Faster Pussycat (w/ Brent Muscat), Tesla, L.A. Guns, and more. Poison, Ratt, and Vince Neil are said to be on the bill. Time to dust of my cowboy hat and spurs.
