We’ve talked to some busy artists before, but I don’t think we’ve ever talked to one with a schedule as full as Mr. Steve Morse. The Steve Morse you know of course from Deep Purple and the Dixie Dregs, but our interview dealt mainly with a new project you might not be aware of known as Angelfire. Jesse James Dupree gave me one of my favorite quotes from our brand of hard rock and heavy metal. When asked how he could possible bring a chainsaw on stage and play it as an instrument, he replied “How could you NOT play a chainsaw on stage?” Tells you everything you need to know about that man, and why I’m a big fan.

Lilian Axe has just released their ninth studio album (Deep Red Shadows) and have added Ronny Munroe, former voice of Metal Church, on lead vocals. Rik Emmett was voted the 7th best guitar player of all time in a recent Gibson readers poll. Rik joked during our discussion that he didn’t know if it was one person voting over and over, but I think he belongs on ANY list of great rock and roll guitarists.

Matthias and the guys in the band are certainly very busy with their farewell tour, and we certainly felt honored that Matthias took the time out of his busy schedule to talk to us about the tour, the new album, and some of his “post” retirement plans.

Marc and Krokus have been very busy with a new album and dates this summer in Europe, but we were fortunate enough to have him stop by and talk about all the irons Krokus has in the fire.

Chris Broderick, the incredibly talented (and all around nice guy) guitarist from Megadeth was gracious enough to sit down with us recently, and he gave a great short interview. ‘ve done quite a few of these interviews now, but somehow I still get a little nervous when I talk to an artist that I’ve jammed along with in anonymity for so very long. I was there (like a lot of us were) at the “big bang” of Cinderella, and I was a fan from the first time I heard them. I’ve said it publicly many times, but I’ll say it again….if all the bands from “our” hard rock and heavy metal carried themselves and took their music as seriously as Cinderella did, grunge wouldn’t have stood a fucking chance. Age Of Evil is a band comprised of two sets of teenaged brothers who have the pulse and fell of our metal right at heart, even though they were born a generation after it’s heyday. We should all sleep a little easier knowing the future of “our” hard rock and Heavy Metal is resting in the hands of bands like Age Of Evil.
