Musician Kalifah AgaNaga has announced plans to hold his own concert on October 9, 2026, coinciding with Uganda’s Independence Day celebrations.

The concert, dubbed Nasanga Festival, is inspired by his hit song Nasanga, which has recently enjoyed a resurgence after going viral on TikTok. The renewed popularity of the song has introduced it to a new generation of music lovers and created fresh excitement around the artist’s catalog.

Speaking during an appearance on Galaxy TV, Kalifah said he decided to capitalize on the momentum generated by the viral trend. “Let me put it up. When the opportunity comes, you use it. I will tell you the further details but Nasanga Festival will be on Independence Day,” he said.

The singer also appealed to fellow artists and event promoters not to schedule competing events on the same date, saying he hopes to enjoy the spotlight without distractions.

In a light-hearted moment, Kalifah joked that if the concert does not attract enough support, he would simply stage it at his own home. “If it fails, I’ll just stage it in my compound,” he said with a laugh.

Emmanuel Lwasa has revealed plans to become a pastor and establish his own church, marking yet another dramatic chapter in his eventful personal journey.

Speaking during an interview on Kasuku Live, Lwasa disclosed that he intends to launch his church within the next two months. However, before taking that step, he says he will continue attending services at Prophet Kakande’s church as he prepares for the transition.

“I will continue praying at Prophet Kakande’s church for like two months. I wake up every Sunday, dress up and go to church with my new woman because I got her from there as well,” Lwasa said.

Lwasa’s spiritual journey has attracted public attention over the past year. In 2025, he converted to Islam after meeting socialite Nash Glow and adopted the name Akram. The conversion sparked widespread discussion, with Lwasa openly embracing his new faith at the time.

This year, however, he returned to Christianity and became a born-again believer. Now, with plans to start his own church, Lwasa says he is ready to take on a new role in ministry, a move that is likely to generate even more debate among his followers and critics alike.

Kalifah AgaNaga has heaped praise on fast-rising singer Vyroota, describing him as the most talented and underrated artist among the new generation of musicians that emerged during the TikTok era.

Speaking about the current crop of young artists, AgaNaga acknowledged that singers such as Kapeke have their own strengths and unique styles. However, he believes Vyroota stands above the rest because of the quality and depth of his music.

According to AgaNaga, Vyroota may not release music as frequently as some of his peers, but every song he puts out carries substance and resonates with listeners from different backgrounds.

He noted that the singer has managed to attract a loyal fan base while also appealing to ordinary music lovers across the country.

“He doesn’t release so many songs but he has music in his songs. That’s why you’ll find that almost every song he releases, despite having his own diehards, even the local people enjoy the songs. He’s special,” AgaNaga said.

Sheebah Karungi has opened up about a health challenge she has been battling since giving birth, revealing that she recently travelled to India for surgery to address the condition.

In a statement shared on X, the singer disclosed that she had struggled with a childbirth-related medical condition for more than a year and a half before doctors recommended surgery. She said the procedure was carried out in India, after which she immediately returned to Uganda.

Despite medical advice to take time off and recover, Sheebah revealed that she reported to court the very next day after landing back in the country. “After a year and a half of struggling with a condition caused by childbirth, I finally had to travel to India for surgery, then straight back home and into court the next day,” she wrote.

The singer also expressed gratitude to her family, close friends and members of her team who stood by her throughout the difficult period. According to Sheebah, their support went far beyond accompanying her to court, as they had witnessed firsthand the pain, hospital visits and challenges she endured while seeking treatment.

“Their presence wasn’t just support for a court appearance; it was support for someone they have watched fight through one of the most challenging periods of her life,” she added.

Nina Roz has spoken out about the impact of the government’s temporary suspension of public gatherings, including concerts, saying it has significantly affected musicians’ income streams but they are still finding ways to survive.

The “Ntika” hitmaker revealed that despite the challenges, she remains active in performing at alternative venues such as bars and private shows, where she continues to connect with her fans.

“Thank God I’m not dormant. I still get bookings for shows and performances in bars. I still go out and engage with my fans,” she said.

Nina Roz noted that while she understands the sensitivity around speaking on government decisions, many young artists are quietly struggling yet remain hesitant to voice their concerns. She stressed that silence is not helping their situation.

“I won’t go deep into some things because we don’t have authority over them… speaking for the young artists, I might look like I’m leading them astray or being political, but they should come out and speak against issues that affect them and their people. Don’t babysit, don’t try to prove a point and don’t try to fit in,” she added, urging fellow musicians to be more vocal about industry challenges.

Uganda’s famous dance group, The Ghetto Kids (TGK), has achieved another major international milestone after confirming that they will perform at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final halftime show.

The exciting news was revealed by the group’s manager, Kavuma Dauda Kavuma, popularly known as Manager Ticha.

He confirmed that the talented young dancers will take part in the grand halftime entertainment during the World Cup final.

According to Manager Ticha, the Ghetto Kids will share the stage with international music star Shakira and Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy.

The group recently featured in the music video for “Dai Dai,” a song by Shakira and Burna Boy that has gained global attention.

“Ghetto Kids will perform at the World Cup finals halftime show. We are not part of the opening ceremony, but our performance is confirmed for the finals,” Manager Ticha confirmed.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is being hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada and is expected to attract billions of viewers from around the world.

Performing at the final will give the Ghetto Kids another opportunity to showcase their talent on one of the biggest stages in global sports and entertainment.

Former dancer and entertainer Ronnie Stamina has opened up about his strained relationship with musician and Uganda National Musicians Federation president Eddy Kenzo, accusing him of ignoring his attempts to seek support.

Speaking in a recent interview, Ronnie Stamina, who appeared as a dancer in Kenzo’s breakthrough hit Stamina, revealed that he once reached out to the singer hoping for assistance during a difficult period. According to Ronnie, he wanted to join Kenzo’s campaign activities and requested financial support to help provide for his family.

“I called him and he wasn’t picking up and I thought he’s in a loud place, so I sent him a message saying, ‘Hello brother, can you at least call me so that I can move with you every day in campaigns and at least give me Shs200,000 daily so that I can take care of my family,’” Ronnie recounted. He added that he no longer has evidence of the conversation because the iPhone he was using at the time was later stolen.

What has continued to trouble Ronnie, however, is the response he claims he received after sending the message. He said the reply left him shocked and disappointed, though he stopped short of confirming that it came directly from Kenzo himself.

“The person who responded, I won’t say it’s Kenzo because Kenzo gives his phones to other people to hold for him, responded saying, ‘I am not your brother,’” Ronnie alleged.

He said the response remains one of the most surprising moments he has experienced and wishes things had turned out differently between him and the award-winning singer.
