Supremacy Lounge witnessed the epic finale of the Real DJ Scratch Battle Season 3 powered by Smirnoff. This grand showdown served as the ultimate platform to spotlight upcoming and underground Deejaying talent who serve as heartbeat of Uganda’s buzzing nightlife.

Eleven contestants converged to battle it out in intense, five-minute elimination rounds for the title of Scratch master. JX Deejay clinched a dramatic victory in the final round despite the knob on his mixer breaking mid-set as he improvised flawlessly with elite showmanship to capture the UGX 5,000,000 grand prize. The first runner-up, Mr. Genius also secured an impressive UGX 3,000,000 courtesy of Smirnoff.

“As Smirnoff, we believe that a great night out is only as good as the person behind the decks,” noted Raymond Karama, Smirnoff Brand Manager. “This battle is a celebration of those who aren’t afraid to be bold and do things their own way as we look to elevate underground talent onto the grand stage.”

Representatives came from far and wide including Soroti’s Yung Swag and Lira’s DJ Tompoo (2025’s Northern Best DJ), who rolled up with a crew of 50 fans from up North. The tournament also showcased fierce female talent with Galaxy FM’s DJ Roshian and MM Media’s DJ Sham who made her courageous and fired up on-stage mixing debut early in the evening.

The stakes were high under the watchful eyes of an expert judging panel of NTV’s DJ Easy Samuel and Galaxy’s DJ Herbert, DJ Denno, and DJ Magic Switch. Round 1 instantly shaved off three contenders, paving the way for a paired-off battle Round 2 as the mix decks went hot and Smirnoff ice kept the vibe cool all through the night.

By the final set, only two DJs remained standing and redemption-seekers who had faced defeat in Season 2 returned clearly energized to go all the way. Scratchmaster, JX Deejay won the night and walked away with an extra $300 cash bonus courtesy of DJ Gadgets. MM Media also rewarded female DJ Nelly Rwaxy with a brand-new DJ controller for winning the quiz and trivia round.

It was a night that celebrated the passion and raw flair on Uganda’s deejaying scene boldly powered by the unmatched energy of Smirnoff.

There is a particular kind of excitement that settles over a room when a quiz night begins. Not the loud excitement of a football match or a concert, but something quieter. Teammates lean closer. Debates start before questions are even finished. Someone insists they know the answer, but someone else is absolutely certain they are wrong.

On Tuesday evening, that familiar energy filled Tehila Café and Grill, as quiz enthusiasts gathered for another Black & White powered Quiz Night, a series that has steadily become part of Kampala’s social calendar over the past few weeks, with its daily activations.

What started as a simple night of trivia has grown into something bigger. Across Kampala, quiz nights are attracting young professionals, groups of friends, couples and workmates looking for a different kind of night out. In a city where many evenings revolve around football screenings, traffic-filled commutes or casual drinks, quizzes have created a space where conversation is the main event.

The appeal is surprisingly simple. People enjoy testing what they know, arguing over what they think they know, and discovering that the quietest person at the table somehow remembers the answer nobody else could figure out.

At Tehila Café, host Davis Kamanyire, AKA Uncle Davis, guided teams through several rounds of questions covering history, current affairs, science, entertainment and general knowledge. With this happening on Martyrs’ Day eve, round one was entirely dedicated to questions drawn from the story of the Uganda Martyrs, their lives, faith and death.

Between rounds, conversations flowed freely. Colleagues became teammates. Friends challenged each other’s confidence. Tables celebrated correct answers as though they had scored winning goals, while wrong answers often generated even bigger laughs. Music filled the breaks, drinks kept arriving, and the competitive spirit remained friendly throughout the evening.

The Black & White Scotch Whisky, whose “Better Together” theme felt particularly fitting for the occasion and while only one team would leave with the top prize, the evening itself was built around shared experiences, teamwork and connection.

“This is exactly what a night out should feel like, you come in as yourself and leave feeling like you belong somewhere,” said Raymond Karama, Black & White Brand Manager, Uganda. “Black & White has always been about shared experiences, and quiz nights have become a great example of that.”

Perhaps that explains why quiz nights continue to grow in popularity. The prizes are nice, and winning certainly helps with motivation, but people keep coming back for something else. A good quiz night gives people a reason to put their phones down, work together and enjoy each other’s company for a few hours.

The search for love has never been this dramatic. On Hello Mr. Right, Uganda’s ultimate dating reality television show, the hunt for a better half has more twists than a road through Kabale, and the audience cannot get enough.

When contestant Ketra was not chosen, she did not hold back. Addressing hosts Mr. Henry and Zahara ToTo, she said, “I am disappointed, but, as you know, cheap things go for trash. I am happy for my sister Mary Goretti, but that Odwugu is just not it. I mean, he’s cheap. Look at the shoes!”

Mary Goretti, defending her new partner; the Nigerian man aka Odwugu, fired back: “Ketra, it is not right for you to disrespect my man. I will work on him.”

Now in its third season, Hello Mr. Right has delivered fun, drama, and the full complexity of modern romance to its Ugandan audience. Each Sunday night, at least one of the 12 ladies on the podium has walked away with her Mr. Right, someone who embodies all the qualities she had envisioned in a partner. Among those lucky ladies are Mary Goretti, Fahima, Primah, Zipporah, and Donnah Logz, among others, all of whom have found their matches.

Ugandan female rapper Keko has revealed that she was once in a romantic relationship with fellow singer Sheebah Karungi for two years.

Speaking about their past, Keko disclosed that the relationship ended because Sheebah felt her music career was not progressing in the direction she wanted.

“Me and Sheebah dated for 2 years. We later separated because she felt her career wasn’t going in the right direction. She felt desperate, I guess, because I was a very big star then,” Keko revealed during a YouTube interview.

After days of speculation from fans, Feffe Bussi has finally addressed why he was nowhere to be seen at Karole Kasita’s highly attended concert at Serena Hotel.

Many concertgoers expected the rapper to make an appearance after reports emerged that he had participated in rehearsals ahead of the show. His absence, however, left many wondering whether something had happened between the two artists.

Speaking to Now Media Ug, Feffe explained that he was committed to another performance in Kalangala and could not make it back to Kampala in time.

According to the rapper, he explored the possibility of returning for the concert but was hindered by transport challenges, particularly ferry schedules that disrupted his plans.

He also admitted that he was not fully aware of how the concert program had been arranged, which made it difficult for him to coordinate his movements.

The burial arrangements for veteran Ugandan singer Master Parrot, born David Sifaayo, have been released following his passing on Monday evening in the Masanafu area along the Northern Bypass.

According to a tentative program shared by family members and close associates, Master Parrot’s body will today be handed over to funeral service providers before being taken to his home in Kiwatule for a vigil and final respects.

Later in the day, the body will be transported to the National Theatre, where fellow artists, fans, friends, and members of the public will gather to celebrate his life and contribution to Uganda’s music industry.

Reports further indicate that the singer will be laid to rest in Mpigi District along the Masaka Road. He is survived by four known children.

Master Parrot was one of Uganda’s pioneering dancehall and ragga artists who rose to prominence in the early 2000s. Known for his energetic stage performances and unique style, he became a household name with several popular songs that dominated the local music scene during his prime.

In recent months, the singer had made headlines after speaking openly about the hardships he was facing, revealing that life had become increasingly difficult despite his contribution to the growth of Uganda’s music industry.

Chameleone has spoken about this chapter of his life, most notably during an interview on the UNMF podcast alongside Eddy Kenzo and Eddy Kigere. He credits Bebe Cool, whom he fondly calls “Rasta,” with life-changing support when he first arrived in Nairobi in the late 1990s to early 2000s. At the time, the young and ambitious Chameleone found himself somewhat stranded after an initial opportunity did not materialize as planned. Bebe Cool, who had already been building his presence in the Kenyan music scene since 1997, opened his doors.

Their bond went back to 1995 in Uganda, but it was in Nairobi that it was truly tested and strengthened. Bebe Cool provided shelter, food, and emotional support during tough times. Chameleone has shared heartfelt memories of going hungry, only for Bebe Cool to search for him, buy him a meal with whatever little money he had, and treat him like a true brother. The two slept on carpets in music studios, shared clothes, hunted for performances together, and recorded music side by side as they sharpened their skills in a highly competitive environment.

Equally vital to Chameleone’s survival and growth in Nairobi was Kenyan artist Redsan (Swabri Mohammed). Chameleone has expressed profound appreciation for how Redsan took him under his wing, ensuring he could not only survive but begin to thrive in the Kenyan music industry. Redsan helped expose him to wider audiences through joint performances, supported him with earnings from shows, and collaborated on music that showcased their combined talent.

One of their notable collaborations, the hit track Bageya produced with Ogopa Deejays, became a significant milestone. He has described Kenya as his “mother” and Uganda as his “father,” a testament to the deep connections formed during his journey. Singer Karole Kasita has addressed concerns over Feffe Bussi’s absence from her recently concluded concert at Kampala Serena Hotel, dismissing speculation of any fallout between the two artists.

Feffe Bussi had been expected to perform at the concert after actively participating in rehearsals leading up to the event. However, fans were left surprised when he failed to appear on stage during the show.

Speaking about the matter, Karole Kasita said she was equally unaware of the reasons behind his absence and preferred not to speculate on his behalf.

“I do not want to speak for him. Those with questions should ask him why he did not come. He was there for rehearsals, but in between my sets I did not see him backstage and I knew he probably was not available,” she explained.

Karole suggested that Feffe Bussi may have had another commitment or could have been unwell, noting that she did not receive any information regarding his failure to show up.

The singer also emphasized that there is no bad blood between them despite his absence from the highly attended concert.

She further revealed that Feffe Bussi was not the only artist who failed to make it to the event, adding that several invited performers were unable to attend for different reasons.
