But let’s face it: passwords are becoming passé. As technology progresses, so does the ease of cracking a password; some of the best hackers in the world are teenagers, and if they want to get into your computer, they can do it.

That’s not to say you should quit using passwords; until there’s a way to replace them, you need to keep on doing it. But there’s another way to keep your computer secure. All you need is a USB flash drive and a piece of software called Predator.
Predator

Predator is an ingenious concept when it comes to personal computer security. It locks your PC when you are away and uses a regular USB flash drive as an access control device. If you’re even a little worried about your privacy, keep everybody out of your business with Predator.

Predator has both Home and Professional editions. Choose the one that’s best for you, and don’t forget to obtain the correct version for your computer, e.g. 32-bit or 64-bit.

Download Predator.
It will download in a .zip file; save the file if you want to install it later, or open it with your favorite .zip program.

2. When you open the file, double-click on InstallPredator.exe to begin installation.

3. The installation will bring you to the Predator Setup Wizard. Click Next to continue.

4. When the installation is finished, Predator will automatically launch. If it doesn’t, launch it from your Start Menu. When it does, you will see this dialog box.

5. Insert your USB flash drive and click on OK. (Note: this will not change the files on your flash drive in any way.)

Now you come to the Preferences window. Create and enter a strong password (no less than six characters), and choose the drive you want the key to be on from the drop-down menu. Click on Create Key, and click on OK (top right).

7. You will then have to restart Predator, so click on Ok in the dialog box to do so.

Click on the Predator icon on your desktop or in your Start Menu to re-open it. Notice that you now have a have a blinking green ball in the system tray.

Now you should get into all the neat features by reading the User’s Guide. It will tell you what to do when you run the program for the first time and all the neat features it provides after that.

(By the way, if you don’t want to use a USB drive, you can use a Floppy drive. The User’s manual will tell you how.)

If you have the Access Denied box checked, then the alarm goes off.
If somebody enters three invalid passwords or the password dialog times out, Predator will trigger an alarm. You can configure how loud or how many beeps the alarm has.

Predator will protect more than one personal computer. If you want one for your office and your home, then you can configure each the way you want to.
Predator can send you email alerts when someone is trying to access your computer. Configure it so that it sends a picture of the person with the email as well.
Predator will automatically change the codes on your USB flash drive. If someone copies it, then it won’t work because the codes on your flash drive will have been changed. It’s kind of like using the wrong set of keys to get into your house.

Not only does Predator keep the people that want into your computer away, it will tell you in a lot of ways who it is. You’ll have actual proof, which is a lot easier than proving who cracked your password.

Change the sharing permissions. Some devices, but not all, will let you change the sharing permissions even if write protection is enabled. If you are using a Windows computer, right click the device icon and select Share → Advanced Settings → Permissions. Check the “full control” box, and select OK.

If the error message you get tells you the file is write-protected, not the drive or memory card, skip to the section on disabling write protection for files instead.

Enter “cmd” in the Start menu. To access the command line in Windows, open the Start menu and type cmd in the search field. Press Enter, and a command window should pop up.

The command line does not use your cursor. Just type, and use “delete” or the arrow keys on your keyboard to move back to correct a mistake.

Enter “list disk.” Type list disk and hit Enter. This will list all disks accessible on your computer, include the USB Drive or memory card. If you don’t know which drive listed is the write-protected device, find the icon of the device in your My Computer folder and note its name before you continue.

You can also identify the device by ejecting it, typing “list disk” again, and seeing which disk disappeared.
If your device does not appear, try “list volume” instead. In this case, you’ll need to replace the commands below with “volume” wherever they use “disk.”

Type “attributes disk clear readonly” and press enter. The command attributes disk clear readonly should remove any write protection on the disk if it exists.

Exit disk utility. Type exit and press Enter to quit disk utility

Since couple of weeks i found few requests that sounds ”how to keep back up of my window and all apps installed and all settings” ”Is that possible to make a copy of installed os and programs i’m using” Etc!
Well sometimes we know such methods and solutions but because weak memories we couldn’t consider what exactly user want! Yeah that happens with me sometime few users asked me but i given them another solution infact i knew the simple easy method. Today a friend given the same solution & method that i supposed to release here or given to those users those who asked me. Thanks to that friend & he’s TeamOS Staff member. i asked him and he given me approval to release a Tutorial in his behalf. here we go now:

First of all read below what actually System image does:
You can create a system image, which contains a copy of Windows and copies of your programs, system settings, and files. The system image is then stored in a separate location from the original programs, settings, and files. You can use this image to restore the contents of your computer if your hard disk or entire computer ever stops working.

If you’re using Windows Backup to back up your files, you can have a system image created each time your files are backed up. The files can be saved on a USB flash drive, CDs, DVDs, or a hard drive. The system image must be saved on a hard drive. By default, the system image only includes the drives required for Windows to run.

If you want to include additional drives in the system image, you can manually create a system image. If you manually create a system image, it can be saved on a USB flash drive, CDs, DVDs, or a hard drive. Follow the steps below to manually create a system image.

Note:

To create a system image of a drive, it must be formatted to use the NTFS file system. If you save the system image on a hard drive or USB flash drive, it must be formatted to use the NTFS file system.

To back up your programs, system settings, and files:
1. Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.

2. In the left pane, click Create a system image, and then follow the steps in the wizard. If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Important Click Spoiler Please!

If you’re saving your system images in a network location, you can only keep the most current system image for each computer. System images are saved in the format of drive\WindowsImageBackup\computer name\. If you have an existing system image for a computer and are creating a new one for the same computer, the new system image will overwrite the existing one. If you want to keep the existing system image, you can copy it to a different location before creating the new system image by following these steps:

-Navigate to the location of the system image.
-Copy the WindowsImageBackup folder to a new location.

Now see below how backup works like: (These options for windows 7 & 8, 10)

1- Right-click the Start button and launch Control Panel.

2- Click File History. or System and Maintenance > Backup and Restore.

3- While in File History or Backup and Restore, click the System Image Backup or Create a system image link in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

4- Connect an external USB drive or hard drive with enough free space.

5- In the backup wizard, you’ll be prompted to choose from one of the three options to save the backup. For this example, we are going select the hard drive you just connected. However, keep in mind that you can backup to DVD blanks and a network share, but these options will slow down the backup process.

6- Click Next.

7- Confirm and begin the process by clicking Start backup.

The backup could take anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours, it all depends on the amount of data to be backed up. And yes, during the backup process, you can use your computer as you would normally do.

Note: After the System Image Backup utility completes the task, remember to keep the hard drive in a safe place.

– To restore your computer from backup, connect the drive with the system image backup and reboot your computer with the Windows installation media. During the Windows Setup, click Next, then click theRepair your computer link in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Click on Troubleshoot, clickAdvanced options, and select System Image Recovery. Now select the target operating system you want to recover, click Next And Finish.

Although, a lot of tech savvy users are aware of how to perform a full backup in Windows, you’ll be surprised how many people fail to know the basics. Often times I get asked questions such as: “I upgraded my system and now Windows won’t boot, how can I rollback?”. Or “My hard drive is ruined, is there any way to recover my data?”, and most of the times a simple backup could have saved them a lot of troubles.

Remember: there is many trusted softwares to backup or create images, but what i recommend you to please follow the method i given to you, or else you might use CloneZila to create images or copy same image to another system but your own risk.
