Passion Pit’s Manners is in place to easily be on just about every top ten list this year, without a doubt. “To Kingdom Come” is the next single and has received video treatment. Look for remixes from Grum and the Juan Maclean.

I’ve been kinda feeling Zémaria’s new album, The Space Ahead. Doesn’t really up the ante much on the genre but the tunes are enjoyable… as far as electro-pop numbers with shades club go, Zémaria is pretty much on target. The title track sums it up:

The best part is the album is up for free on Smoke Island which gives little reason not to check it out.

You may remember Tanlines from their outing on Kitsune Maison 7 or their bouncy, catchy take on TTA’s “A New Chance” — well either way, the Brooklynites are back lending a helping hand to Bombay Bicycle Club’s “Dust on the Ground.” Tanlines takes a similar approach with Bombay Bicycle Club as their previous work — something a little warm, bouncy, maybe almost even tropical.

Sally Shapiro is back with another single this month. It’s conveniently called “Love in July.” Johan Agebjoern has done a magnificent job on production as usual, and Sally’s vocal never disappoints. “Love in July” will be out through Paper Bag Records in North America and Permanent Vacation in Europe. It includes some great remixes by Le Prix, Parker Lewis, and my favourite on the release by Bostro Pesopeo which you can hear below:

Nik Yiannikas aka Nik Valentino of Lost Valentinos fame lends his talents to Sharam Jey’s “In My Blood.” Single includes remixes from Larry Tee & Alexander Technique, Jaimie Fanatic, Mom & Dad, Joe & Will Ask?, Kolombo and Slok.

Beni doesn’t need an introduction anymore, and he’s about to drop his next single “Maximus” through Kitsune. This one is my favourite release from him for sure. Surprising considering it features Sam Sparro. But it’s very Tiga and very fresh.

Deathface is Johnny Love’s current new project and it’s dangerously more angry, raw, bad, and without borders. As you all may know Guns N’ Bombs is long gone, dead, kaput, buried, and layed to rest in the blog house tombs. We posted Turbotito’s song below. Both are promising to keep pushing and creating. They both have their qualities, they were the yin and yang and now we get to see them on an individual level. No real room to take sides or encourage bad vibes, take a listen for yourself and remember at the root of everything we are here for music, and for the love of the art. I on the other hand do love this man, and I love this remix. Here Deathface remixes Buraka Som Sistema’s ‘IC19″ and flips the switch on this great track from one of my favorite albums this year.

Filip Nikolic aka Turbotito of Ima Robot/ex-Guns’n'Bombs fame is showing off a new look with a single out on THORN01 and a mixtape which promises gloom.

“Liquid Disco” is aptly titled as the song sounds like its title… liquid disco about sums it up. The b-side is a winner as well with production tips from Ima Robot bandmate Timmy The Terror. Both are excellent late night summer jams.

Tronik Youth is banging out a new single on Backyard Recordings called “Disko Sucks.” The teaser above doesn’t give too much away but it sounds like it’ll be some good thumping electro with maybe some tongue in cheek disco laced through.

Mr. Youth also hooked us up with one of his unreleased remixes for Kitsuné darlings You Love Her Coz Shes Dead… you know, the other Crystal Castles rip-off band. Tronik Youth’s approach to “Me Versus You” is a little more timely and a little less frantic than the original:

Now that you’ve worn out “Theme” and “War”, BMX is back with two new tracks!! These are demos and super early but the ideas are all there and the direction is a good one. Total jams. The sound is a little bit more mature but still playful and keeps with the theme…

Holmar Filipsson and Klas-Henrik Lindblad aka Sasse have the LP “A Splendor In The Grass” coming out at the end of July. Its a really nice release and the combination of these two has brought elements of deep house, disco, and funk to the table. I had serious trouble picking only a couple of songs to feature here. It’s released through Nang Records.
