The Euro Clay Carnival in France this October is delighted to welcome Polymer Clay Express to the team!

Rob & Wilma will be over from America for the duration of the carnival. This is a major scoop for France & Europe as participants to the carnival will not only be able to buy tools face to face but they will also be able to see Wilma demonstrate some of her new tools!

On top of all of this Rob & Wilma have also agreed to come back for more next March at the Clay Corbières Créatives event. Make sure you are signed up for the latest news as like this year, next year’s event is bound to be a sell out again.

This weekend was packed with emotion, laughter, music and special people.

Our daughter Manon Lily celebrated her 2nd birthday and at the same time we held her baptême républicain at the Mairie in Luc-sur-Orbieu. Manon Lily was a little star throughout the entire weekend. It was wonderful to have so many people make the journey from the UK.

Thought I would share my latest tapas dish with you. I love making little bowls of dips particularly now the summer is here and the rosé is well chilled!

My latest recipe was a real experiment and I thought it worked wonders….

Take the following:

1 jar of green olives with stones removed

1 lemon (zest & juice)

1 clove of garlic

small piece of ginger

fresh coriander

olive oil (glugs!)

Then….

Place in mixer and blend to a smooth paste – add more olive oil to achieve correct consistency.

Serve with….

Tortillas, crackers and of course a good rosé!

This weekend I took part in La Fête des Plantes et l’Artisanat d’Art at Fontfroide. I had a great weekend meeting up not only with some talented artists like Céline Cassiède from Terre à l’horizon but also making some great new contacts and positive sales.

My new Occitania range was a huge success. This range is based upon the Mokume Gane technique in polymer clay coupled with some secret textures. Pendants & earrings are then mounted on sterling silver or gold filled wire. The prices are slightly higher than my Lily range but that didn’t put off buyers.

My stand was also a plus point for me – I opted to set-up in the form of a U rather than just a straight table. This meant that clients entered into the boutique-stand rather than just walking past a table front. A definite point to remember for any future exhibitions where space allows for it.

As you have probably realised by now Euro Clay Carnival France (October 2009) is over subscribed ! There is  currently a the waiting list.

However, I am currently working on a new project « Clay Corbières Créatives » with the same tutors (Kato, Cavender, Garcia de Léaniz, Blackburn, Welker, Picarello).

This event will take place between the 18 & 21 March 2010. I currently need a little more time to establish the exact programme as well as the price and of course work on the website for « Clay Corbières Créatives ».

I hope to have everything in place by mid July 2009. Should you wish to be kept up-to-date then I suggest you check the Euro Clay Carnival website  or Corbières Créatives on a regular basis.

Bijoux & Banter has been up & running for 17 months, so I thought I would have a look at some of the statistics available to see just what it is people like to read….and would you believe which posts fall into the top 10? I think it’s quite comical really that the naked beauty in the mirror should poll over 1000 viewings…..perhaps it’s the title words, categories or tags….obviously the word “lovers” proved popular but then could have spelt disappointment when finding out what the lovers was referring to! Anything Chakra, spiritual, tarot based also seems to draw the crowds…so does this mean I should change the context of my blog? Perhaps not – perhaps just ensure there is some form of nakedness in each posting! Dream on…….
