As a nonprofit, we run a full-service bike shop and repair bicycles donated from the community, and redistribute them through our charitable programs and affordable bike sales. As a comunnity-focused bike shop, we teach the community how to repair their own bicycles in our shared-use shop space. Our charitable programs seek to make bicycles, and bicycle repair/safety education available to the entire community regardless of income.<br />
BCC&#8217;s many charitable bike safety education programs are made possible by its community oriented shop operations.</p>
<p>Job Duties and Responsibilities:</p>
<p>Contribute to a fun, friendly, and welcoming environment for all customers and staff.<br />
Maintain a clean work environment for customers and staff.<br />
Intake, assess, repair, and check over new bicycles.<br />
Refurbish used bikes in a timely manner to normal specifications.<br />
Educate customers on how to properly maintain their bikes<br />
Examine parts donated to ensure quality products will be on the floor for sale<br />
Assist with monthly/bi-monthly volunteer night, as needed.</p>
<p>Qualifications needed to do the job successfully:</p>
<p>Excellent mechanical skills (preferable bike shop experience/training)<br />
The ability to problem solve functional issues and find cost effective solutions<br />
Excellent communication  skills that will enable you to work with a wide variety of clientele, including those new to bicycling.<br />
Ability to interact in a friendly manner with all customers regardless of their bicycle knowledge.<br />
Good organizational skills in a fast-paced, fun environment.</p>

<p>Seeking likeminded staff with a passion for all things bikes and an interest in showcasing Portland’s history and uniquely progressive bike culture with visitors. We specialize in showcasing Portland’s varied bike scene. Our offerings range from cruiser bikes and e-bikes to carbon gravel and road bikes.</p>
<p>Where: Cycle Portland is in Old Town, NW Portland, conveniently located a few blocks from Waterfront Park.</p>
<p>When: We are looking to train candidates in mid April. The deadline to apply is 3/31 but we will begin evaluating and interviewing prospects as they apply.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:<br />
• Clean and prep bicycles for guests to ride<br />
• Lead 1-2 bicycle tours per day. Tours vary in length from 2 to 4 hrs<br />
• Operate booking platform and POS systems<br />
• Perform retail stock and inventory<br />
• Check customer bikes in for service<br />
• Perform occasional flat repair services and minor repairs for customers<br />
• Offer guidance to customers partaking in our services</p>
<p>As part of our small team, you’ll have the opportunity to advise travelers about your favorite local attractions and hotspots, fit folks on rental bikes, help plan their route, lead guests around town as a guide on one of our cycling tours, and lend a hand to our full-service bike shop.</p>
<p>While primarily focused on tour guiding, this position will encompass guiding up to 2 tours per day (2-5 hours of outdoor time, rain or shine) on our Foodie, Brewery, City, or Gravel bike excursions. Back at the shop you’ll help guide clients through our bike rental process, answer questions about the products and services we offer, and help keep the shop running smoothly. You’ll also be provided with resources to help you dive deeper into the history of our city in both past, present, and future as we work to keep our tours engaging, fun, and informative.</p>
<p>Cycle Portland is part of a family of small companies associated within The Adventure Hub. Many opportunities for growth including the potential of guiding multi-day vacations with our sister company Bicycle Adventures for the right candidate.</p>
<p>Part-Time and Full-Time positions available.<br />
Seasonal employment positions available from April through October.</p>
<p>Positional Commitments as a Cycle Portland Guide</p>
<p>• Shifts: 9:30am-6:30pm, Cycle Portland is open 7 days per week<br />
• Scheduling: 2-4 shifts per week at Cycle Portland<br />
• Availability on weekends required from May to September.</p>
<p>Compensation:<br />
$17-19/hr starting DOE (plus gratuities and bonuses)</p>

Position Description</p>
<p>The Shop Manager &amp; Head Mechanic is a dynamic leader and highly skilled bicycle mechanic who helps guide and sustain bike works’ community-centered mission. This role supports the p:ear Works Director, oversees shop mechanics, manages daily shop operations, and mentors youth bike mechanic interns.bike works serves Portland’s Eastside communities by providing low-cost, low-barrier access to bike repair, refurbished bike sales, and hands-on education. This position plays a key role in balancing operational excellence, financial sustainability, and meaningful youth and community impact.</p>

<p>As Shop Manager &amp; Head Mechanic, you will provide leadership and oversight to a small, diverse team of mechanics and youth interns. Strong understanding of drivetrain, brake, wheel, headset, bottom bracket, and suspension systems<br />
Ability to efficiently assess repairs, clearly communicate options, and prioritize safety and quality<br />
Experience setting and maintaining shop repair standards and quality control processes<br />
Comfortable training, mentoring, and supervising mechanics with varying skill levels<br />
Strong organizational skills related to parts tracking, work orders, and inventory management<br />

What started as a local bike club selling its excess imported tires has grown into one of the most extensive online retailers for tires, components, gear and nearly all other cycling-related products.</p>
<p>This position is responsible for picking, packing and shipping customer orders. Qualified Shipping Specialists also execute product put-away, clean their work area, execute physical counts, and are available for general physical and/or minor administrative labor.</p>
<p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:<br />&#8211; Pick incoming web orders and warehouse pick up orders.<br />&#8211; Pack and ship orders according to supervisor’s guidelines.<br />&#8211; Maintain accurate inventory through regular cycle counting.<br />&#8211; Assist receiving department with put away of new items.<br />&#8211; Maintain a clean and organized workspace.<br />&#8211; Assist with any projects, or assist in other departments as instructed by<br />supervisor.<br />&#8211; Perform all duties in a safe manner and report all safety concerns<br />immediately to supervisor.</p>
<p>MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:<br />&#8211; Wear closed toe shoes at all times in warehouse.<br />&#8211; Be able to lift 25lbs above your head without assistance.<br />&#8211; Stand for long periods of time.<br />&#8211; Be able to lift 50lbs without assistance.</p>

<p>Overview<br />
LifeCycle Adventures is seeking a Local Operator to deliver our private, self-guided cycling tours in Oregon. This role is ideal for a small local business or an experienced independent contractor based in the Portland area. </p>
<p>What You’ll Do<br />
•	Tour Delivery &amp; Guest Care &#8211; Meet guests, transport riders/bikes/luggage, provide route briefings, and on-call support.<br />
•	Operations &amp; Logistics &#8211; Coordinate schedules, lodging handoffs, luggage moves, rider shuttles, and incident response.<br />
•	Quality &amp; Safety &#8211; Maintain high service standards, ensure adherence to SOPs, complete reports, and uphold safety protocols.<br />
•	Local Expertise &#8211; Share Oregon’s culture, history, and geography; provide vetted dining/activity suggestions.<br />
We provide training, guidebooks, GPS app, routes, and operating procedures. Day-to-day, you’ll work autonomously and exercise independent judgment in the field.</p>
<p>Seasonality &amp; Workload<br />
•	Part-time, variable, based on sold trips.<br />
•	Primarily June–September; tour lengths range 3–10 days.<br />
•	Requires flexibility for in-season, on-call coverage and multi-day commitments.</p>
<p>What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)<br />
•	Exceptional hosting and client-service presence; calm, solutions-oriented communicator.<br />
•	Operationally minded, highly organized, detail-focused, and reliable with time management.<br />
•	Prior bike guiding or adjacent outdoor guiding/operations experience.<br />
•	Strong local knowledge of Oregon riding areas, roads, and conditions.<br />
•	Cycling oriented mindset and competent bike mechanic (field fixes &amp; quick triage).<br />
•	Clean driving record and driver’s license; able to lift bikes and luggage.<br />
•	Current First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain promptly).<br />
•	Operate from home or small office with stable connectivity.</p>

Founded in 1991, we have a long history of successful advocacy and committed partners and stakeholders. We are positioned to play a pivotal role in Oregon’s transportation future by addressing the needs of pedestrians across the region and state and by promoting walking and rolling as a critical element of transportation, climate, racial, and health justice. Current initiatives include the 82nd Avenue Coalition, implementing walking school buses in the Portland Metro region, the Black to Nature, electeds, and other walking series, and advocating at the legislature for our transportation priorities.</p>
<p>The Opportunity:<br />
Oregon Walks is seeking a dynamic leader with a passion for walking advocacy to serve as our next Executive Director.<br />
-Salary: $95-105K, depending on experience<br />
-Benefits: Health insurance (vision and dental), paid vacation, paid sick leave, retirement<br />
-Hours/Location: Full-time work-from-home with regular in-person meetings based in Portland, Oregon. Hours can be flexible but occasional evening/weekend availability is required.</p>
<p>Key Areas of Responsibility:</p>
<p>Organizational leadership<br />
-Work closely with staff, volunteers, and partners to ensure successful programs and achieve advocacy goals<br />
-Develop and implement new initiatives to further Oregon Walks’ mission<br />
-Plan for the organization’s long-term success by leading a strategic planning effort<br />
-Demonstrate passion for pedestrian issues and inspire support for our programs and advocacy priorities<br />
-Encourage a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive organizational culture</p>
<p>Advocacy, strategic partnerships, and communications<br />
-Collaborate with partners, coalitions, elected officials, funders, and transportation and planning experts<br />
-Participate in local, regional, and state committees, councils, advisory boards, and community groups<br />
-Proactively lead advocacy campaigns and policy discussions, including testifying before government bodies, speaking to the media, and participating in policy planning processes<br />
-Ensure clarity and consistency in messaging and positions on external advocacy work<br />
-Imbue our work with social justice principles and the understanding of the intersectional nature of transportation policy and investments (e.g., housing, racial equity, and income inequality)<br />
-Serve as the primary contact for internal and external communication</p>
<p>Finances and fundraising<br />
-Oversee an annual budget of $400-450K, including developing annual and long-term budgets<br />
-Serve as the organization’s lead fundraiser, including writing grants, hosting one annual large-scale fundraising event, and other fundraising as needed to sustain and grow the organization<br />
-Develop and maintain relationships with donors and funders</p>
<p>Operations, management, and administration<br />
-Supervise, manage, and support staff to develop and implement work plans to meet organizational goals<br />
-Monitor compliance with rules and regulations governing the operation of nonprofits and the use of government funding. -Handle grant compliance and reporting<br />
-Support and collaborate with the board, including attending monthly and committee meetings as required</p>
<p>Ideal Experience and Qualifications:<br />
Qualified candidates will be able to smoothly manage the day-to-day operations of a small nonprofit. They will have the community-building and fundraising skills to deepen and expand Oregon Walks’ work, and a policy eye for advancing the organization’s advocacy goals and priorities.</p>

<p>-At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in a leadership position<br />
-Understanding of nonprofit management and organizational development<br />
-Experience with fundraising, grant-writing, event planning, and donor development<br />

-Keen relationship- and partnership-building skills and ability to work in a collaborative and diverse environment<br />
-Fiscal management experience, including developing and managing budgets<br />

-Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while responding quickly to emerging opportunities<br />
-Strong listening and oral and written communication skills<br />
-Comfort with technology, including word processing, database, website management, and spreadsheets</p>
<p>Additional desirable knowledge, experience, and qualities:<br />
-Bachelor’s or graduate level degree in Public Policy, Nonprofit Management, Urban Planning, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience<br />
-Racial and social justice work experience<br />
-Advocacy experience at the local and state levels<br />
-Experience working effectively with a board of directors<br />
