So let’s have a look at the two main motivations that people have when buying something:

-        Or to obtain pleasure

People will almost do anything to avoid pain so they will purchase products that will allow them to be able to avoid this pain, for example people will purchase weight loss products to avoid the pain of being overweight or wrinkle cream to fight the signs of ageing or that cheaper car to avoid being broke etc.

The other great motivator for people purchasing a product is the fact that they will get some kind of pleasure out of the product they have purchased, for instance did you buy your car because it made you feel great when you drive it, does the thought of you driving your car make you feel a million dollars? Or maybe you brought that watch, shoes, shirt, dress etc because it made you feel great.

If you have been studying the home based business industry then you would know by now that email marketing lists are your true asset in this industry because MLM and network marketing companies might come and go BUT your list will always be yours, your list is your asset.

Well before you go wasting all of your money on paid advertising and putting all of your effort into marketing to build a HUGE list!

I want to ask this question:

Does Size Matter When It Comes To Email Marketing Lists?

Well bigger the list the more people you have to market to right??? So a bigger list MUST be a more profitable list right!? WRONG!!!

Lets have a look at this and answer this question once and for all….

Lets say John had a marketing budget of $1000 a month for PPC and on top of that John also spent a lot of his time sending email blasts to the list builders that he had joined and generated a ton of leads all the while just stock piling his leads and relying on his auto-responder to build a relationship with his list, his emailing marketing list just kept growing bigger and bigger.

John would be rubbing his hands together thinking that he will be able to eventually sponsor these people on his list into his primary network marketing company and on top of that be able to just send any old affiliate product to his list and make a ton of money, easy money!

BUT even with Jason’s HUGE list of leads he would only maybe sign a couple of people into his primary network marketing company and rarely if at all make a sale with any of the affiliate products that he was sending his list.

I just recently brought myself a new car because my old car was just getting way past its use by date so I decided to look for a new car and found it, my dream car for a reasonable price. ( For A Bargain Actually! )

Well last weekend on a nice sunny afternoon I was out the front of my house washing my new pride and joy, It was it’s first sponge bath! I was sooo proud.

I had only just got through shammying one side of my new car and it had been about 20 mins, I was taking it nice and easy making sure to do it perfectly so the result were immaculate.

There I was swiping and then ringing out the shammy over and over again, it felt like it took forever but I just knew in my mind that all of my detail and hard work would pay off because my new car would be immaculate with no streaks and ready to hit the town for a tough lap to show it off! LOL

Well the process I used in shammying my new car is a lot like building a business, you have to take your time and make sure you are piecing all of the pieces together correctly so you can have an immaculate result, a business you can be proud of, a business that is allowing you to live your dream lifestyle.

If I would have rushed the detailing of my car then  their would have been streaks and water marks all over it and I just wouldn’t have gotten the results I was looking for, it is the same principle in business.

There are 2 main reasons why people will choose to use youtube as a lead generating strategy:

1 – It seems fun

2 – and it’s free

Youtube is littered with videos about people pitching their company or biased people doing a review about a product that they don’t own which just looks so dumbass obviously obvious that the person doing the video doesn’t own the product and is only looking for an affiliate commission on the product.

That shows how little people know about marketing with video.

Nothing is Divine about youtube itself, it is just a medium with which people share the video, because we are inclined to SHARE and forward the videos that fascinate us.

Recording a video and uploading it isn’t enough to get traffic, the real challenge is:

“How do you make a video that builds up primal urge inside people to immediately tell everyone about it?”

“ They were pretending to be rappers “

A couple of nights ago a friend of mine showed me this video where these markers were pretending to be rappers, We had stitches from laughing so hard and half way through we were already looking for people to show it to.

One of my friends tweeted this video to her followers, another friend emailed it to his list, another shared it on facebook’s wall, and someone else even embedded it on his blog.

That’s the kind of video you want to make! BUT what if your not that entertaining???

“Luckily there is another way!”

The genius in youtube is how, once you refer one friend to a video, youtube then keeps him there, browsing, exploring and viewing more clips.

Youtube wants to ensure that your friend doesn’t just switch off the website after watching a video you send him to. So it has to figure out what to recommend next in order to keep your buddy there longer.

A related clip would be the obvious choice – but a popular related clip would be even better.

So how do you make your video the candidate that youtube decides to promote?

“Commotion”

Video commotion can been seen by a high view count and plenty of comments…

High view counts mean that the video is popular, and plenty of comments means that people feel very strongly about the video one way or another… so it is “interesting”.

Getting views and comments on a brand new clip is what most people are missing when video marketing, because they are trying to get the views and comments from youtube itself.

And like I said, youtube won’t send viewers your way unless you already have obvious activity and interest in your video.

Now you could try to build up views directly from youtube. And it could work if you created the next “Evolution Of Dance” viral video. But how often does that happen? (That video has several hundred million views!)

Waiting around for youtube activity could take forever. Unless… you give it a big shove.

The good news is that it is easy to get video-viewing momentum even on a lame video.

A simple strategy is to embed your video into your landing page where you drive all of your traffic, set the video to autoplay whenever someone arrives on the page. This way you don’t have to wait for youtube to  send it viewers you can just pump traffic to it and every single person who lands on your landing page with this video is classed as a viewer whether they opt in or not!

This way no traffic is going to waste!

So let’s say that you have been advertising your landing page with your video on it for some time and your video has got a couple of thousand views on it now, well now you could even stop advertising and your video views will keep going up!

Because youtube has noticed that your video is popular and has started showing it on the home page as well as people watching similar videos. Very Nice!!!

Now you can even take it a step further and build the comments up on your video by sending out a broadcast to your list asking them to watch your video and leave a comment with their opinion at the bottom, usually their comment will create more comments as the conversation grows, this will increase your views again!!!

When you provide content like a video you are displaying admirable leadership quality. Bravery.

You aren’t afraid to express yourself.

Where as most people are employees because they have herd mentality, they like to comply, they don’t want to rock the boat, and they want to fit in.

Their greatest fear is that if they express their opinion they could be shunned or humiliated by the herd.

Similarly, they won’t agree with you, just because you are a leader and you are brave. They don’t want to find out too late that they are agreeing with an outcast. Maybe they will wait and see what others will say first..

“Getting the first comment on your video is the hardest”

The very act of being the first to comment is almost as intimidating as being the video’s author. What should they say? What if they get it wrong?

“That’s Why You Tell Them”

Fearlessly express yourself, tell them why they should agree, and then ask them to answer a question in the comments section.

Some will listen, some won’t. Either way, you need to get that first comment. Because once you have it, new viewers will feel safety in adding their voices in agreement.

Youtube’s goal is to keep it’s visitors engaged, exploring, and viewing videos after seeing the clip they came to watch in the first place. Smart marketers exploit how youtube recommends the “next video”.

“LESSON”

If you want to try to spread the word about a video on your own, you can upload it to lot’s of videos sites by yourself or with some blasting software. But just having your message on a video sharing site doesn’t imply that everyone’s ever going to watch it. And it’s pretty hard to create commotion around something when your the only one shouting about it.

Instead, you want to show your video to an initial audience like your email subscribers whose views will be recognized by the video sharing site as “popularity”. Eg, Youtube will recommend popular content like your video to other users who may be watching related clips.

This way every visit to your page drives up the view-count which increases your rank and your chances of being promoted by youtube. Email your list about any new videos you post. It will further increase views and comments giving you instant commotion.

It is a sad fact but 95 to 98% of your prospects won’t join your primary company but what’s even sadder… Is that the majority of internet marketers aren’t making a cent off the people who say no to joining them in business because they don’t understand or haven’t got a marketing sales funnel/pipeline in place.

I want to explain the 5 pieces to a successful marketing sales funnel/pipeline so that you can start profiting from and building relationships with your prospects that don’t join you in your primary business.

1 – The Traffic And Prospecting Generator

This consists of mass marketing of ads in any internet marketing avenue you want to take ( article, PPC, postcards, email marketing, classifieds, etc ) which is aimed at your target market, These ads generate leads for you 24/7 and introduce them to step 2 of your sales funnel.

2 – The Marketing Pipeline

This piece serves a couple of purposes… Firstly it holds your prospects attention and time by providing direct value/benefit to them ( Not You ) this keeps them in your pipeline. This step is automate by the use of your email autoresponder.

Secondly this marketing funnel should position you as a leader and an expert… Not a salesperson! ( Very Important )

Thirdly it should promote and induce the sale of an inexpensive information product through a sales letter that points to a cash register that takes the order for you.

This is the online order process system that produces retail cash and creates retail customers 24/7… This money pays for your advertising and sometimes even creates a nice little profit for you BUT ultimately your advertising is free!!!

4 – The Retail Product

5 – Last BUT not least Your MLM Business

This is where your long-term residual income is created and your leadership develops.

3 - Get an Autoresponder

Your autoresponder is going to be the back bone of your business and will save you so much time in follow up and building relationships with your prospects. ( You MUST Have An Autoresponder )

4 – Use custom capture pages

By using your very own custom capture pages you are branding yourself as a leader and people want to follow leaders.( You are either a Leader or a Follower ) Instantly you set yourself apart from the majority of people who are just using there companies capture pages that don’t even show your face or brand you as a leader, By using your companies capture pages you position yourself as just another distributor for your company and by doing this you are even competing with other people in your company.
