Yes, I know, I've been a blogging slacker. The Twitter bug bit me harder, and before it was cool--I can say I beat Oprah to it. In the absence of big long posts--not really that many to make lately (shocking!)--it fits better. I'm @WmLeverette there.

I could make a list of endorsements on Twitter, but I'll simply link you to my following page instead because I endorse the people I follow (and to list out why I follow each of 85 people is a bit of a task when I've got other tasks to accomplish). If I didn't like reading their tweets, I would quit following them. Marvelous, isn't it?

Mechanically, the Escalade ESV isn't all that different from our Yukon
XL. And yet I seem twice as paranoid about dinging it up. Regardless,
this one is a quantum leap better than the last one I drove (a 2002
with plenty of miles and aftermarket 20s). And I'm pleasantly
surprised at the differentiation from the Denali trim we offer.
Blingwagon indeed.

Maybe I'm crazy (shush), but I actually kinds like this thing. Sure,
the exterior is, shall we say, unique. And the interior is textbook
early-decade GM. But there's tons of space in there, and the ride is
nice. And it could be mine for under ten grand...though I think I'll
hang on to the CR-V until it decides to call it a day.

Melanie and I went to Charleston today on a lark. We then ambled into
a Korean place called Mama Kim's on King and Calhoun. Not the
cheapest, but GOODNESS you get a metric ton of food! This was taken
after I'd already stuffed myself.

After miles of construction, hard rain, momentarily hydroplaning
twice, and having an 18-wheeler splash water on my windshield to give
me zero visibility right before a lane shift onto a bridge, I was
about to say the hell with Georgia. Then I found this three miles from
the Florida line. Gas 26 cents cheaper than Colatown. Dang.

Yesterday, it rained in Columbia. This should be shocking enough.

When it rains at work, I don't shoot cars. (Camera equipment doesn't like getting wet, my cardboard box for holding keys would be trashed, the resulting mess in the bay would be ugly--tire tracks--and the wet cars don't photograph as nicely as dry ones.) Normally, this means I lose an afternoon or a morning before venturing out again. Yesterday, not so much--it rained. All. Day. Long.

Even worse? GM's internal site was down all day as well, meaning I couldn't knock out some weather-independent work. (grumble)

On the up side, I discovered what it takes to post some of our inventory on Craigslist. It's actually surprisingly simple to export from our regular inventory site, and the results are pretty nice. Progress is progress, I suppose.
