Pee Wee's Saloon was the favorite meeting spot for Memphis musicians in the early 20th Century W. C. Handy used the cigar counter to write out copies of the Beale Street blues for his band members. One of those songs, written for the 1909 political campaign was first named "Mr. Crump," for the Memphis mayor and political boss. Later with the new lyrics it became famous as "The Memphis Blues"

This guy had some serious emotion when playing his sax at the W.C. Handy club. I had a great time photographing him, he kept posing for me.

The "Handy" is such a small place. On Saturday nights it's slammed packed. Very cool spot on Beale.

This is one of the many dogs that hang out on the carriages that are offered on Beale Street. I was talking with the owner about how pretty he was and sirens started to go off in the background.

He started a long nice howl and I just had to snap some photos of him. I thought it was a wonderful capture!

This is a life size replica of Jack Daniels. It is propped up next to the Jukebox at Coyote Ugly on Beale Street here in Memphis.

I guess shortly after people started signing him. Pretty wild!

This photo was from a stop on the way to Memphis Sunday. It was located at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. I found this Eagle to be an interesting artifact of the cemetery.

This is my son Clay. He is destined to join the service once he is 18. I may not agree 100% with that but he sure does love the military. The boy watches the Military channel almost everyday. When we went on vacation this year he found this helmet and spent all of his money on it. It's a military issued helmet and it took two days before we could finally get him to take it off.

He cracks me up.
