An online event with an opportunity to receive up to US$100 per app published and win one of eight iPad minis!
You are invited to join the Autodesk Exchange Apps Hackathon — a virtual web based hackathon that runs from 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) on Saturday, September 20 to 4:00 p.m. September 21. Anyone can participate from anywhere in the world and at any time both before the event and during the Hackathon days. The Hackathon is a free event and offers a cash reward for apps published to Autodesk Exchange (up to 5 apps). You can also participate in the “Cloud App” and “Sustainability App” competitions for a chance to win an iPad mini.
If you’ve been thinking about publishing apps in the Exchange Apps store but haven’t found the time, this event will give you the help you need to get them “out the door”. Visit exchangeapphack.com for details on the event, including an FAQ, the schedule and speaker line up, and the Rules and the Registration link.

Autodesk Exchange Apps Portathon is happening soon! App developers can still register and receive US$100 per app published!
The 48 hour virtual web based coding event runs through September 13 and 14, 2013. There's still time to register and to participate early if you wish. You can even submit your apps before the event. In fact, over 100 apps have already been submitted for this event. If you're a developer of apps for Autodesk products, there is no better way to reach Autodesk customers worldwide than Autodesk Exchange Apps. Customers are active and engaged with Autodesk Exchange Apps as evidenced by comments: "Very grateful for this tool it is saving me a huge amount of time and the tedious task of doing it via the block editor" or "This one is a no-brainer. I have been searching for an app like this. Easy to use, and does what it says."
Don't delay - join well over 100 developers in getting the help you may need to get your apps published. If you submit your apps by midnight on September 14, 2013 and if they are accepted for publication in the store by October 31, 2013, you will receive US$ 100 per app (for up to 5 apps – US$ 500 total).

The latest updates to the Revit IFC exporter are now live on SourceForge (here) and on the Autodesk Exchange Apps Store (here). The updates are arguably the most important since the initial release in 2011. In particular:
While this is a major accomplishment, we consider this the start of the next stage of our development. On the certification side, we are now putting Revit LT 2014 through the certification process to ensure that we maintain our current level of quality. On the IFC 4 front, we plan to expand beyond the “basic” functionality and really explore what the new schema has to offer, in terms of new classes and smaller files with higher quality geometry. Stay tuned.

The BIM and Beam blog has provided some info about the new SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Detailing 2014 add-in for Revit. I have been following this productivity tool for concrete reinforcement detailing for quite a some time. This add-in is quite impressive and worth a look if you are working with concrete.
