Have you ever been in this place before?
How did you come out of it or have you?
How do we rise above these constant feelings of frustration with the world and our surroundings?
The answer is Love
, Self Love.

Ernest Holmes also says "You have already inherited the power to live, but you have not adjusted yourself to it"
Beyonce calls it getting in Formation .
Oprah calls it an AHA moment.
Shonda Rhimes refers to finding her inner power as saying “Yes”.
Mary J Blige calls it No More Struggle
I'm calling it making it through the frustration, because when the struggle is real and we know it can get real , believing that we will get through it seems to be a big part of the battle.

I never wanted my blog to be a bitchy rant type thing, but I have a lot to be frustrated about, fearful of,etc. I always get a lot of lip for expressing my frustrated feelings publicly. I hear about from friends, families, strangers wandering the internet who fear for my safety because I share my feelings. Or perhaps I was labeled he happy news giver at some point in my life and just was not notified. But, this label is not true I do bring the happy but I have frustrations as well and I am going to express them. If not in real life then I will do it here. It's not always easy opening yourself up, hence my lack of posting on my blogs this past few years, but this frustrated column on this blog is necessary for balance, in my life but also to whoever reading my solutions for frustrations might help a very valuable young woman on her journey as well... The facts are these:

I am a black woman( if you didn’t already know).Women not just black women but most women of color have been viewed as objects, possessions, and unhuman for too long. We’ve been beaten down and taught to live in fear far less than any male slave for centuries. We have been raped, beaten, harassed, assaulted and thrown away mentally and physically for too long. All the while still resilient, nurturing,courageous, creating life and able to not only heal others but have the strength to heal ourselves as well. If we don’t heal ourselves from within we will end up in silent frustrations constantly defending our successes, accomplishments, mistakes, struggles, choices, opinions, intuition, and ideas against everyone instead of just the ones who are challenging us. The men in our lives call us over emotional, nagging, Queen, but only when we “aren't being annoying” which normally is when we are being a reflection of our partners at that time (i.e. Them being frustrated with cheating, verbal abuse, stress, or a simple lack of love and attention and can’t quite communicate this yet). We are taught to be victims. And the ones who teach us to trust ourselves and our own powers are often drowned out in scrutiny of society's set ways and again we become frustrated instead of empowered . Even the places, people and services we patron can’t be trusted. We are taught by those souls who were born before us to trust no one,as you will experience pain.Then we are not taught who to trust.So we end up feeling lost , looking for someone- anyone to fill the void of fear and mistrust. Nothing and no one external can fill this space Not your husband, not your doctor, not your best friend, but we must learn to trust ourselves, our Knowing, our power to Love and our power to be truly loved. Once we learn this we become above all things around us and we can’t go back, causing the women we left behind on our freedom journey to “throw shade” and become vulnerable to the snakes that surround her that you may have just escaped from. In these times we have to keep living as an example of finding our own light and working it. Right?

The Facts are These

Friday, July 17th, 2015, at The Alex Theater in Glendale, CA (it was fabulous as all things named Alex generally are) we were on a mission to laugh at an industry exclusive event

put on by Silver Lining Entertainment , The Comedy Underground” Series Vol. 3 & 4 LIVE Hosted by Flex Alexander and I can’t wait to see more to come from this series! We were greeted by the beautiful sounds of Phillip King and his harp and on the red carpet we got to chat it up with the shows creators , The host Flex Alexander and his beautiful grammy nominated wife Shanice who not only have their successful show on Saturday Nights on OWN but Shanice is also set to come out with a new album with her single hitting the streets next month. We also talked to some swanky actors like Jay Hunter and the who’s who of the comedy world including Shondrella Avery, Michael Collier and all of the comedians who got up on stage and had our sides splitting and tears running down our faces Chastity Washington, Jay Lamont, Alex Thomas, Red Grant, Kevin “Damn Fool” Simpson, Capone ,and Brooklyn and a hilarious set by Flex Alexander. We danced to jams by MC Lyte who not only killed those turntables she didn’t look a day over 30 while she was doing it.It was inspirational to see and hear the advice people had for the youth coming into their own and how they have reached this point in their success and to see what everyone was wearing for their night out . The whole night was like a well put together family reunion with sounds at the after party by DJ and good ol' fashion southern eats from catering . Flex and Shanice went from everything to nothing and now they are back on top with their show Flex & Shanice on OWN Saturdays at 10/9c. I can’t wait to see what these two and everyone else we enjoyed the night get into the next couple of months.

How brave is writer Leslie Jones for going on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update with her hair looking like this?!
She is fearlessness incarnated as I am very sure it was not an easy task becoming a writer on the famous comedy show in the first place. I have been shocked at reading the negative comments of many black women in America on how her segment was too harsh and disrespectful to our ancestors. I don't know what stick is stuck up most of this country's ass, but I would like to give Ms. Jones a standing ovation and a very loud and ghetto BRAVO! [pronounced BRAY- VO] for making people step outside of their comfort zones and listen to the truth about our ever evolving country. For the record I had tears of laughter coming out of my eyes when I watched this clip. This is too funny. She actually made me rethink my life a little and now I want to only pop out "Super Babies". With all the unproductive ignorance going on in the world today and the negative images brought about by entertainers and everyday ratchets a like, I do not see why people even picked this up and spread it around as something negative. i just wanted to express my love for Leslie Jones and tell her (and the other two recently hired Black women) Thank You for kicking down the door for me to walk into at SNL. I also wanted to share my favorite quote of the skit and the clip so everyone I talk to about this can come to my blog to view it. Were you offended by this segment? Do you think people overreacted?

Master would have hooked me up with the best brotha on the plantation and every nine months I’d be in the corner popping out super babies. I’d just keep popping them out. Shaq. Dear White People (The Movie)

“There isn’t a right way to be black.”

I would love to have an open discussion over some really smooth red wine about what people define as the right way to "be black" with people who are truly open minded
and completely individual but well experienced in being the only" black face in a white space", and how they overcame feelings of acceptance as a young person.

I remember when I read a piece in a magazine about two years back and went to check out the Dear White People Trailer online. First, I laughed at the hilarious satire and then I got a little bit annoyed, as I had experienced most of , if not all of the scenarios being made light of. I then came to the conclusion aloud while speaking with a friend about how no television series or film had made me feel that way since the 'Higher Learning' and 'Do The Right Thing' days. I myself have been "a black face in a white space" since the sixth grade, I am now in my mid twenties. So, I cannot wait until the full feature film Justin Simien’s 'Dear White People' comes to a big screen near me. We can have a nice heavy bodied red wine and discuss racial micro-aggression in society today.

The Facts Are These:

Fear and being comfortable are some of the worst addictions we deal with as young adults today, along with anxiety and stress.

Looking back on my last couple of years I realized I was paralyzed not by having a child and being a new mom as a lot of people thought, but I was more paralyzed by not knowing what was going to happen to me next. I was fearful of not having enough,love, money, support, opportunity, etc.Before losing my mom to breast cancer in 2011 I had never had these type of insecurities. I have always been what most would call over confident or extremely optimistic, I call it being secure within myself. I blamed my fear first on my loss, next I blamed it on being in a somewhat new city without my regular safety net to land on. Next up, was not having the right job or intimate relationship. It took me until the last few months of 2013 to realize all I was doing to myself was procrastinating and making excuses as to why I had taken such a long break from being my normal driven creative self. I had made myself a nice comfy seat in the followers column of society and it was not working for me. I was struggling to figure out what I wanted in life, not because I didn’t know but because at some point in my search for inspiration I had fallen into a hole I believe quite a few millennials do. I was trying to satisfy what others outside of myself thought my journey should be. What I needed was the exact reminder I got. Of course this spark of inspiration did not come until I was in what felt like my lowest point of this journey. I had gotten so fed up with my life not working itself out the way I knew it would and I took a huge leap to make a change. I made the decision to go after my highest good. That is where the real work began. I began to shed the negative energies and Bullshit that had accumulated not only in my personal relationships, but also in my own mind. It was like I had stored just a little bit of all the negativity over that 2 years in my consciousness. Please do not imagine how draining that must have been. Instead hear my struggle and take a different path. It was surreal almost like magic how much easier my life got after I let all of the crap go. I began to look at myself in a new light, and that attracted the love I had been feeling void of while I was in my funk. So if you are in your own funk or living a mundane life be fearless and inspired in 2014.Start with these easy to begin steps :

Decide who or what inspires you

Eiminate the bullshit by forgiving yourself and your past.(then let that shit go!)

Surround yourself with the positive support and Love you need to reach your goal of success. Remember all real love begins with self love

Be fearless, Go for what you know you want! Chances are you will find success in your goal to be better than you could have ever planned or imagined

Be grateful

Although these steps look nice and easy in print they aren’t,but if you work a little everyday you too can be free to be fearless and show it off!

Disclaimer: For all the beautiful young women who read my blog first of all thanks for the support! Second, I am in my birthday suit in my Bionic Puzzi ads not because I am supporting the ratchet behavior I see all over social media and on reality tv, but because I had to overcome being comfortable with my body after my baby. Although my confidence is much higher than it was a couple months ago still I even thickened up for the photoshoot to fit in with what society thinks is sexy for black women right now. It shows I am beautifully versatile and still a work in progress

Being a colorful woman of a chocolate hue in present times. I am an advocate of diversity and erasing segregating lines among our communities and society. Over the years I have observed the fastest and most efficient ways of diminishing these lines is through Love and Art. Lucky for those of us who will see 2014 and get to ride it's waves, there looks to be a whole lot of lines blurred and hopefully erased by taste makers and icons in our societies relaying their relevant messages in artful ways to our consciousness. I know I am doing my part and I also know the luxury brand and fashion house known as Givenchy has been doing their part as well.

The past 3 seasons under the head of Ricardo Tisci, Givenchy has served up a fierce diverse cast in the Runway presentations as well as in the ad campaigns for the fashion house. For me the Spring Summer 2014 ad campaigns take the cake.

Queen Erykah how I love ye and worship your confidence, knowledge, and fearlessness. I have always dreamt of being a personal stylist for Ms Badu, she is a main inspiration to why I began pursuing the visual arts as a career and seeing her in this ad campaign absolutely has reignited that dream. There have been so many great tribal prints and artistic images on the runways as of late it really made me wonder what people were going through to produce such an array of garments that would have been considered a daring fashion feat to wear back in the 1990's when Ms. Badu was rockin the fck out of her turbans and gorgeous tribal jewelry. Then it clicked we are all still rocking out to Baduism. Thank you Givenchy for the wardrobe to my life soundtrack by Erykah Badu.

There are some people whose reputations precede their presence. Then there are those beings who when you meet them you feel royal just being in their presence...

It's just clicked for me, I have no idea how to write about my beautiful soulships with my dearest friends without every post sounding like a love song. To be honest my life feels like the most beautiful love song ever written being looped and remixed in so many ways lately. I suppose it has always been this way I am just in a better place to be able to witness it and enjoy it for what it is.

The Facts are These:

On October 12, 2013 there was a book signing at the decadent residence of my mentor and dearest friend, record producer, arranger, songwriter , muse, inspiration to many, genius and now author Mark Batson. The Star studded event was attended by many industry greats, well known and unknown artists, and superheroes of course. The event was a streaming consciousness of Art, Love and Support for the signing and Release of LOADED: A Story About A Ghost an intensely whimsical graphic novel written by the Great Mark Batson. There was a phenomenal live performance by Author Mark Batson including classical strings the earth shattering silky vocals of a beautiful goddess like essence. Spine Tingling beautiful music floated all the way through the house and out by the pool upstairs where Batson later was signing books and mingling with his adoringly supportive and socially influential fans and friends.

Then there was the afterparty. That which I would describe as something like time travel on a Rainbow Path. The entire night was heavenly and the entire Bionic Puzzi team there representin looked fuckin fierce. I know, I know you are feeling just a bit of some good healthy envy, but no worries dears life is but a dream. Yours and Mine alike.

Hydrate and Moisturize Naturally

Fall time is always something that should be prepped for generally, but being from Southern California I am always a little lost in holiday plans as the weather is not always in alignment with American winter tradition. The hullabaloo for the craft shows, parties, and birthdays and internet marketing commitments always seem to be boosted around the holidays as well. Causing me to go through a crazy anxiety period and my immune system also drops from all of the chaotic zen i experience. Making my fall essentials a bit more beneficial than just having the perfect leather sweatshirt or red Burberry coat of the season.(Here come the lists...)

My fall essentials that can be used across the board for all skin types and sexes include:

Black Seed Oil - a known cure all and antihistamine that has been used in eastern medicine for ages before I existed. I take a tablespoon in the morning and at night to keep my immune system boosted and use it in my tea at the first sign of illness. It even helped when I applied it topically for tooth pain!!!

Cooconut Oil- In 2009 I stopped using butter at home when i cooked, I replaced it with Coconut Oil, and I kid you not majority of the fat on my body literally disappeared. I also started using it on my skin along side olive oil and was able to capture and sustain my natural moisture better. I am obviously hooked and have been for quite sometime, but recently a dear friend of mine topped off my Coconut Oil Cake with a little tip to use this lovely product as lubricant. Yes it also works great as a lube fo the lucky souls getting any it can come in handy during the fall and winter cuddling seasons.

Black Soap- This soap is great for all types of skin. It has helped to eliminate acne and skin discoloration for a lot of my friends and for me I have very oily skin that generally dries out during the chilly fall and winter months it keeps the area from around my mouth from looking like I ate a powdered donut. It has also been very helpful in keeping my young son's eczema under control as well.

Wine- Uh duh! I have to have a drink at the drop of a hat during the fall and winter season. But, I am not a big fan of extra excercise and all the sugar that is in hard liquors. Wine is good for the heart and will warm you up after a few good sips of the right one. So wine is not only something great to keep to yourself and boost your own antioxidants, but it makes for the perfect gift to give too.

Alkaline Water is the most important Fall Essential in my life. It is actually my year round essential. i learned from my mother who was a master of sciences that if your body is Alkaline then that means no viruses or diseases can develop or survive. When I started to drink only alkaline water in 2009 my body detoxed itself for about a week, my skin cleared up, I had a noticeable amount of more energy and I lost about 10lbs with no excercise. I have been a loyal drinker from what I call the fountain of youth aka my water ionizer machine ever since.

I like the video way more than the song as usual.The song is just another song. it makes me want to go party in Japan sort of.It's funny how people are so quick and willing to jump on S&M bandwagon when there is a celebrity dressed up or on television. But I don't think people really understands how real this culture really is. i am not an expert. no sorry, but i do know a thing or two about slapping a lucky few and i have been to a Club Hell party or two. I love the freedom of the lifestyle and how relaxed people can really be in these environments. I wonder if Rihanna brought in a consultant or did her own research.

Real Life lately has been not so bad. Lavish in a way i suppose. I mean life that has nothing to do with work or career. So real party life i guess it would be. I mean I do like to party. I love it and if people weren't such haters I feel like i could do it so much more often. Anyways I was wandering around the internet as I have the tendency to do and I am not sure exactly how I came across LINDSAY MARiE , but she's hot. She seems fun like a Barbie Doll friend.

Then I got to thinking if I had a group of four friends who all looked like barbie dolls and sang or danced i would just keep them locked up in my multi- level house and make them make me pop records and videos all day. whahahahahahaaha but as that is not real life I will settle for daydreaming about having friends who look like a girl group and wandering the internet to find talent I have yet to discover and I threw in the Mariah Carey Video because of the theme and I heart her.

... and Crystal Celebrity is a friend of mine on twitter whom I wish was my friend in Real Life.Perhaps I will send her an email.

the facts are these:

i went to Skeetox 2010 with my Lovely Lyly because we thought it would be fun. Apparently our decision to go had caused a slight stir in a few persons existence.

We had a blast it was like a super cool rock concert that pop artists kept hopping on stage and fucking up lol. except for lil jon and we loved the band. Then I discovered I knew the band and am passionately in love with the band's bass player( i just wanna hump him into another universe lol ). I do fall in love often and when it counts.I think Lyly fell in love too.Then we met the CandyMan and apparently he not only likes to knockboots but he's an excellent writer as well.Ran into Warren G and a few other West Coast hip hop classics as well.All the people who did not accompany Lyly an I should feel kinda sad cause it was awesome.

I Love Lauryn Hill. I Love her in a very obsessive way.I am going to walk to Mountain View to see her if I have to. She's like bohemian hip hop royalty. It's beautiful to see her back on tour. If I could follow her on her tour I would. So if anyone knows her please let her know I would love to style her or if she needs a blogger I am here for her. I love her voice and the fact that she's still doing her thing and she's got like 50 kids. She's an icon i have always loved and admired and i truly believe she might have a super power.

Sometimes it's a bit hard to get people to understand you. It's not always as easy as asking and recieving. Well at least that's the way sometimes it may seem. I find myself in the most irritated mood when people aren't understanding me. when I am complaining it's the worst...the solution

... Stop complaining it takes up far too much energy too complain you are supposed to be focusing that energy not on complaining or covering up the problem with substitutions but realizing you have it all. this is my first superhero lesson I have learned as a lady in training to spot things that are not right. not to complain about them, that's too lazy and yes ladies in waiting are quite lazy. i suppose that's what makes real women Bionic. Be Bionic. Be the Solution. Take Positive initiative towards messages of love and you will find not only will you not have anything to complain about, you will find it very easy to help someone else who loves to complain as you have probably been complaining about the same things.
