&lt;p&gt;The main scientific result of 2024 was the revealed relationship between precipitation and intensification rate of tropical cyclones. This result was published in two arxiv preprints, &lt;a href=&quot;https://bioticregulation.ru/ab.php?id=snk&quot;&gt;Condensation mass sink and intensification of tropical storms&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href=&quot;https://bioticregulation.ru/ab.php?id=snkcom&quot;&gt;On the possible role of hydrostatic adjustment in the intensification and weakening of tropical storms&lt;/a&gt;. Why are tropical cyclones important? Because tropical cyclones are relatively simple purely physical systems, without all those biotic complications, where one can understand and demonstrate the same physical principles that underlie the much more complex biospheric phenomenon of the biotic pump of atmospheric moisture.&lt;br/&gt;
