Decay

2012-02-29T21:02:00.001-08:00

We often go downtown to any of the numerous decaying buildings to take pictures of them, and to sate our curiosity. Here's a few shots.

The Lyric Theatre

2012-02-20T20:27:00.001-08:00

The well aged Lyric Theatre, the adjacent medical facility, and the connected office building, three rather interesting places. The Lyric is the oldest theatre in Birmingham, Alabama, and a movement is being put forth to restore it.

The Famous million-dollar pipe organ from the original Alabama Theatre completely dismantled.

The Solid Asbestos Curtain

A night at the Leer

2012-02-11T21:09:00.000-08:00

Most people would rather spend a night at hotel that wasn't abandoned. Night-time makes this building 100 times creepier. Gotta love The Cabana

Leer Tower/ The Cabana/ Hotel Thomas Jefferson

2012-02-06T21:36:00.000-08:00

Here it is. The coveted, highly glorified Leer Tower. A place golden for it's rich history. Once one of the finest hotels in the southeast, now desolate and unused.

Birmingham Police Ain't got nothin on me

2012-02-05T21:36:00.001-08:00

An old Newspaper company and printing press facility created in the 1930's, filled with tons of cool stuff, and relatively large.

Chocolate City Offices

2012-02-05T19:49:00.000-08:00

A very spacious, abandoned set of office cubicles. Very cool place we discovered basically on accident.

Ralph and Kacoo's

2012-01-29T17:47:00.000-08:00

An abandoned Cajun-seafood restaurant. The building was for sale but nobody ever bought it. Ralph and Kacoo's in now located in Louisiana.

AAA Mini-Storage

2012-01-29T07:32:00.000-08:00

A MASSIVE abandoned storage building. Completely decayed, completely disgusting. Tons of pictures so I could give a good representation of what the place looked like.

Lichter's Furniture and Jewelry

2012-01-28T20:51:00.000-08:00

An abandoned department store connected to the lyric theater. After being told the cops were on their way, I only grabbed a few shots, expect more of this place to come, because it's awesome. Filled with three levels, 12 different rooms, and TONS of cool stuff.

lol

The UAB Center For Healthcare Professionals

2012-01-27T20:06:00.000-08:00

A creepy, but fairly well known hospital in Chelsea, Alabama. My camera died during the photos, so I used my friends to take the good ones, those will be up soon.

We found this for all of you Oak Mountain viewers.

Lol, ironic.

The Park Under The Bridge

2012-01-25T17:38:00.000-08:00

An abandoned park located under a bridge, shutdown due to safety reasons.

Abandoned Cement Factory #2

2012-01-25T17:14:00.000-08:00

Another abandoned cement factory, not as interesting as the first, I consider it a giant playground.

Random Warehouse

2012-01-25T16:57:00.000-08:00

A half empty, abandoned warehouse out in Riverchase.

The Bus Field

Marc Steel Revisited

2012-01-21T19:32:00.000-08:00

An abandoned Steel factory. I managed to snap a picture of the guard dog before running out of there.

Check this out if you want to see some older pictures of it:

The Machine Quarry

2012-01-21T05:11:00.000-08:00

A MASSIVE (and very active) plant in Alabaster with one very industrial side and another side that leads to a massive quarry.

I found this funny

2012-01-19T22:02:00.000-08:00

Whoever wrote this. Lol

The House in the Woods

2012-01-11T21:29:00.000-08:00

Located in Good ole alabaster, this house is completely overgrown and surrounded by vegetation. It features tons of trash, rotting wood, a lovely outhouse, a stone furnace, and an extremely deep well that also serves as a portal to hell.
