Remember my previous post where I was pining, crying & whining about how badly I wanted the Jeffrey Campbell Lita Spikes? Well guess what?!...

Courtesy of my father, they were purchased as a Christmas gift.

They took months to arrive as it was a pre order, but definitely worth the wait!

They are even more breathtaking in the flesh & those spike are no laughing matter- seriously sharp!

The look on my parents' faces was priceless when I showed them these bad boys. I think they thought I'd lost my mind! lol!

The Power Shoulder is a look I've been sporting long before it was in trend. I've been adding shoulder pads to my tops and dresses for God knows how long!

As a child of the 80's I just think I'm just used to it. I love the structure it adds to an outfit.

Another one of my great Beyond Retro finds. I think this blazer was about £25. I love everything about it, the structure & fit, the 80's power shoulders, suede detailing...

My Accounts were hacked!

So... I woke up on 2nd Feb and got ready to film. I went to check my facebook page & my password wouldn't work, apparently I had changed my password an hour before. Tried to log into my hotmail, it said I had changed my password an hour before. By that time I knew what was going on cos it had happened to friend of mine (beautybyjj).

I immediately checked my YouTube & saw I only had two videos uploaded instead of about 80.

Someone had hacked into every account I owned with the intent to delete them. A few minutes later, my YouTube channel was deleted, my blog- gone, LookBook, both email accounts- everything: gone! They even went into my Paypal account!

Anyway, all my accounts restored within 24 hours thank the Lord! Everything but my Lookbook account which is no biggie...

I wasn't even upset cos I knew everything would turn out okay. I was honestly just so sad for the person/ persons who took all that time & effort to try and ruin things for me.

Oh well, no harm done. More posts coming soon!

I saw this Jacket in Zara and I was so excited. It's similar to a jacket I had owned a few years back & had since been looking for something similar.

I bought this on sale for £39.99 but I later saw online that it had been further reduced to £16.99!

So naturally I returned it & repurchased it for £17.

I took inspiration from these 'African Queen' illustrations I remember seeing as a child. I have no idea who the artist is, but I was always drawn to these images.

I love the regal gentleness of these women. Their expressions & poses embody both beauty, strength & vulnerability.

This is among the ones I purchased. It was a complete bargain & I think a real statement piece.

I'm so excited to blog today! I've been talking about doing more fashion based posts & now I'm abt to do it! I usually take my own photos but I wanted to do some location shots too which is virtually impossible to do on my own.

Fashion Fix!

As I've mentioned before I LOVE Fashion photography! I love the combination of make up and fashion. The dramatic poses & expressions.

I shot a fashion vid a few days ago which will be uploaded later today. I also took some photos which I thought I'd show you.

Yes I am a poser & enjoy having my pics taken. It's just another form of expression for me- like acting. I get to play a character & have fun. It's not too serious.

I think it's important for everyone to have a form of artistic, creative expression which allows you to be free from reality for a bit. There are so many crazy, serious, sad & horrible things going on in this world. Sometimes I need a break!:)

When it comes to accessories, I love anything that looks like a deadly weapon!

I am in love with this over sized jumper (sweater). It belonged to my mum ( she still wants it back) but I think it's a definite keeper- Sorry mum!

These close up shots are my favorite. They were shot with a shallow depth of field so the focus is on my hand & mouth, making my skin look blurred & ultimately flawless which can never be a bad thing!

This bag is so cool. Got it as a birthday present from my sis (I chose it).
I have no idea of the name of the shop. I listed it in the vid as a bag from a 'London boutique' but really it's from the big bag shop in Peckham- I think 'boutique sounds much nicer though!

Jeffrey Campbell 'Lita Spike'

I'm not usually a huge follower of trends & had managed to steer clear of the Jeffrey Campbell 'Lita' band wagon. I had a brief encounter with the JC 'Exam' boots but when they sold out, I dried my tears and kept on moving.
However, the Lita Spikes are a completely different story! To say I'm in love with these bad boys is an understatement... I've been throwing hints to my peeps for gift ideas as my birthday is coming up (Dec 13th). If someone doesn't buy them for me I am going to have to treat myself!

I just want to apologise for the fact that I'm not blogging as much as I'd like. I really appreciate people visiting, following & commenting on my posts!
I would like to do more fashion based posts as it is a huge passion of mine but I am one of those people who needs to put my all into everything I do & I'm struggling to juggle all the different things I want to do at a standard I will be happy with...

These shot's remind me of Beyonce's 'Video Phone' Music vid (which I love)

Beyonce appears to have on some sort of cream shadow. I was tempted to go out and buy something similar, but in the end I did my own version with the products I had.

It's really difficult to recreate a look because of differences such as eye shape etc but overall I'm pretty pleased with the result although I wish I had extended the wings a bit more...

I have a tendency to be a little obsessive and always have one thing or another that I'm 'collecting'. Right now, it's the Sleek mineral eyeshadow palettes. Every time, I'm in town I find myself in Superdrug. I wonder around nonchalantly, when all I really want to do is march straight to the Sleek counter to see if they have anything new in stock. All the Superdrug staff recognise me and smile (probably wondering if I have some sort of mental issues), but I can't help it, cos for now- I'm hooked!

'Sahara' is not as pigmented as the other shades but it builds easily from subtle to dramatic

I just bought this yesterday. It's just like Sahara but with a gold sheen which highlights the cheek bone- so gorgeous!

A bright orange colour which looks especially good on very dark skin tones but would work well on everyone.

An amazing red colour which I love to wear because it literally looks like I have a very natural flush of blood rushing to my cheeks, surprisingly natural looking.

A fuschia pink with a hint it purple. Love the drama this adds without being too overpowering.

A pink with a little sheen. This is the colour I wear the least, although it's very pretty.

Another new addition. I don't really know how to describe this colour- it's like a pinky- terracotta with a lot of sheen. Love it!

Flawless Foundation

I started wearing foundation when I was around 18. I went to MAC and bought some Studio fix powder plus foundation. I loved it and only really wore it on special occasions. However, when I started wearing liquid foundation around the age of 21, that's when I really fell in love.

I saw how it created the perfect canvas & made my eyes and lips stand out. Although, there were times when I used foundation as a mask- to hide the spots and eczema I had at the time. I later realised that to get the most out of my 'canvas', it would have to begin with my skin...

Now, years later, thankfully my skin is much better and I feel I now get the most out of my foundation.

I'm a fan of all the different foundation looks from barely there to full coverage. I love the way Kim K' makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic applies foundation and concealer in that absolutely flawless, perfect, doll skin way.

I also love the way some makeup artists will simply use a little concealer and powder. It's all good. From luminous Dewey skin to completely matte.

When I apply makeup for my YouTube tutorials, I always opt for full coverage because my camera seems to pic up every pore, spot and imperfection. Here's my on camera foundation routine:

I Dare You To Dream

Life is hard, especially for those who refuse to settle. When you're young, you have all these hopes and dreams but the hardest time in my opinion is that period of life where you're in between being young and approaching real adulthood. A time where you have to sensibly decide whether you're still going to reach for the stars or whether, it's time to give up and settle for less.

There is safety in settling. To purposely gain more responsibilities to distract you from the fact that you just gave up... I wonder if it's more, or less painful to give up...

To dare to dream is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. They say it all gets better with time, but honestly for me, it only gets harder as the years go by.

The good and the bad thing about me is, I refuse to quit. Although, it does make me wonder how much more pain I have to endure before I get 'there'.

Tomorrow I'm sure I'll be fine. Hopeful, determined and focused but today, I'm doubting everything...
