It is hard to believe that this is Tranice's second year teaching PreK because she is a natural, and makes things look easy. She recently had a student come to her campus who had difficulty controlling his emotions, and without hesitation she immediately found a way to bond with him and began putting systems in place to help him become successful at school. Tranice keeps a smile on her face, and radiates positivity no matter what challenges she is faced with.

We are grateful for you and can't thank you enough for your hard work and dedication to BISD!

September Monthly Focus

Once a month we will have a focus/ self evaluation for you. There are so many things we could work on, but no one can bite it all off at once, so we have broken it down into bite sized pieces.

Please complete the monthly focus pre-self evaluation at the beginning of the month and follow up with the end of the month post evaluation. Then turn the form into your IC. The rating scale is the same as the rating scale on the PreK report card, but don't be thrown by that. The I for insufficient is not negative. In teacher world this means "it's not even on my radar" or "I haven't even thought of that" or "oh, yeah I used to do that but I kind of forgot" or "this has been on my list to get to, but I just haven't made it there yet", etc. You get the idea!

September Monthly Look For Document

They will be posted on the HUB every month as well. Just follow the same process as below and you'll see them listed on the left hand side of the web page.

Once you fill it out please submit it please go to the HUB and select the picture:

Next, you'll see this screen:

Select the "Upload Document" button on the bottom right (underneath the "monthly focus" image).

Then fill out the form and attach your copy.

If you need to make any changes to your Roster for CLI Engage for any reason this is where to go! Whether you have a new student that needs to be added, an existing student that is missing from the roster, a student that has left the class, OR even if you need to invalidate a section or sections because you accidentally entered the data for the wrong child. This is where you go!

This year Ms. Berkman took on the task of a permanent sub for a bilingual Pre-K class at Henderson Elementary. She has been a God-send as she has used her retired teacher expertise to set up a smooth running and high quality educational environment for these kids. Last year she stepped into a Pre-K bilingual classroom that had gone more than six weeks with no official teacher from the beginning of the year and like a pro she turned that class into an amazing work of art!

We can't thank you enough for all that you do! Ms. Berkman, you are amazing! We are so grateful for the way you step in and serve the district and especially Pre-K.

We are seriously considering purchasing this app for Pre-K. We have to get through all of the channels before its approval. But the most important one is you! Please take time to download and demo the app so that you can determine wether you like it or not.

It takes students through a series of learning activities that are game like but completely aligned with our standards and assessments. And the best part is that it records everything so that you have DATA that is RELEVANT for ASSESSMENT!

You could use this in class, but especially with online learners. This would become part of their daily routine and you would have to do nothing but post the link on Schoology. Sounds like a dream right?
