If you subscribe or read our blog from time to time you probably know I cannot say enough wonderful things about St. John’s Shelter Program for Women and Children and what they do for the women and children in our community. When I talk in public about this organization, I hear from many people what satisfaction they get by volunteering their time at St. John’s and or bringing much needed items to St. John’s Shelter. You can always find a list of what they need or want by checking out their wish list, and they even have an Amazon wish list for convenience. Every story I hear from volunteers of the Shelter is like music to my ears! I have been fortunate enough to see first hand some of the Women with crushing stories turned into some of the most amazing successes through the love and commitment of St. John’s Shelter.

Last week we had great fun running a contest to win a dozen free cupcakes from Esther’s Cupcakes. This week we thought it would be a good idea to continue the fun and run another giveaway, this one to benefit, St. John’s 25th Anniversary and Plates Cafe and Catering’s Grand Opening! Here at Bisharat Photography, we really like L-O-V-E, Esther’s Cupcakes! They are mouth watering delicious. Their handcrafted cupcakes are freshly baked every day in small batches through out the day.

Party-cus I’m One {Sacramento Area Children Photographer}

Just a quick blog update, I wanted to share a few photographs from my Grandson Thomas’s birthday party. We had a quint little barbecue at one of my favorite parks {Ancil Hoffman}. I love that park, especially the trail that is about a three mile loop all the way around the park, I try to find the time to run the trail 3 or 4 times a week with our fat family lab {Maci}. Just a beautiful trail! Anyway, we had a lovely barbecue, grilling hot dogs and hamburgers and several delicious salads. For dessert Grandma Michael made our little cowboy the cutest little {boot} cake, I have to say, I was so impressed not only with the cake but that Thomas ate and ate and ate his cake with a fork. I could not get over how cute he was when he offered up his cake to everyone around him. Really, a one year old that eats his birthday cake with a fork? As far as dessert for the rest of the 60+ guests non other than Esther’s Cupcakes. We decided to make it easy and got chocolate and vanilla cupcakes from Esther’s. Everyone raved about the lovely day, weather was perfect, the lunch was delicious, the kids had lots of space to run and play and of course Esther’s Cupcakes were the bomb once again.

St John’s Shelter for Women and Children recently opened Plates, a lovely cafe and catering restaurant. I’m very excited to be documenting their upcoming Grand Opening Party in addition to St. John’s 25th Anniversary Celebration. The event is being held at Plates Cafe on September 9th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM and tickets are only $25.00! Plates is located inside Depot Park at 14 Business Park Way, Bldg 149, Sacramento, Ca. 95828. Plates serves breakfast and lunch and also has a meeting room that can accommodate groups up to 80 people. I have had the pleasure of eating at Plates on a few occasions and personally really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

We sure are feeling lucky! Kristene and I feel so lucky to have some of the most beautiful seniors representing our studio this year. Last year we did several Rio Americano Senior Portraits and boy did we have fun! This is Katie she is one of our reps this year and we are looking forward to following her through her senior year and capturing some of those monumental moments she is going to experience all year long! She is a cheer leader at Rio and is just sweet as can be! So….lucky us! We have Katie out there spreading the word on what a great time having your senior portraits at Bisharat Photography can be! The Tank Turns One {Sacramento Area Baby Photographer}

For some reason I thought my grandson {Thomas The Tank}, was going to stay a baby for a while longer. I realize babies grow and even babies that are born “tanks” like Thomas get larger and grow over time, however my first little grandson turning one already, REALLY? How could this be? A year already gone? I just need more time to enjoy these little changes that happen so fast!

My daughter and I arranged for her to bring The Tank in today to do some birthday photographs and with her came some Esther’s Cupcakes. My entire family, our office, friends and friends of friends have fallen in love with Esther’s Cupcakes! I could hardly wait for her to get to the studio, not just because I wanted a cupcake, but because I was feeling very curious about how the session with the tank was going to go. He is mobile now and very coordinated, running is really the word for it. I wondered to myself, was he even going to stay in the photo frame? Was he going to dig into the cupcake? (I was pretty certain this was going to be the case, he is a really BIG eater, eating just about anything and everything in sight). Was he even going to care much about the cupcake? (I know he is not very fond of sweets). I just was in awe that it was already time to be doing his first birthday photographs.

Aja arrived, cupcakes, balloons and outfits in hand. We started the session with a cute little diaper cover and oh yes a cupcake. He did in fact really enjoy his Esther’s Cupcake, not a big surprise, digging into it and enjoying every little morsel. This short year watching my grandson grow and change really leaves me speechless. I can’t believe I am at this stage in my life where I get to play with and enjoy this little person and then he goes home with Mom and Dad. It’s a pretty cool thing having a little tank around!

Meeting New Little Sister {Sacramento Newborn Photographer}

I had a brief visit to the hospital the other day to document a new big sister meeting her new little sister for the first time. It occurred to me that this was a little miracle happening in her life right then, as I prepared to take the pictures. The expression, excitement and wonder in big sister when Mom (who sported her Designer Hospital Gown) asked if she wanted to hold her little sister, was simply breathtaking. I got the distinct feeling that this was just about the best thing that had ever happened to her, meeting her new little sister, her mini me. Once in her lap she just didn’t know what to think, she appeared to be full of fear, disbelief, pride and a whole lot of love! I think she was ready to bring Mom and sister home and make “the I’m the big sister” thing final right then and there. I’m very curious to hear how much fun they are all having now that they are home.

On this exciting day, Mom looked as beautiful as ever! She had been given a gift by a friend, one of the lovely Annie and Isabel Designer Hospital Gowns and she looked just gorgeous in it. She was wearing The Anita which is one of my personal favorites in their line of gowns. I have had several opportunities to photograph new Moms and I have to say, when a new Mom is in an Annie and Isabel Gown, it is obvious to me how much more beautiful they truly look and feel. It is very special to be able to document this time in these families lives when their new little miracles arrive and the designer gowns sure help make lovely photographs.

Dad appeared as proud as ever as he held his two little girls in his arms. My heart truly melted over seeing this big strong man with his two little angels and the idea of what the future may hold for all of them was on my mind. It made me think about my own girls (all three of them) and how much they have all grown into such beautiful women so quickly.

These moments are to cherish, that’s for sure……… it won’t be long and these little sisters will be having little miracles of their own….

One Romantic Wedding

We had the pleasure of photographing on a nice hot summer day recently, one romantic wedding! This very romantic wedding took place at the lovely venue Arden Hills Spa and Country Club in Sacramento. It was wonderful to witness this young couple so in love and full of romance. In fact this was one of the most romantic weddings I have documented in a long time. It was so obvious that the couples, morals, values, interests and plans for the future are in total alignment. As you will see from the photographs even the reception decorations and lighting were extremely beautiful and helped create a very romantic atmosphere. This adorable couple met in college and have been dating for sometime now. I am fortunate to have known this family for sometime now and I’m happy to have been Gio’s senior portrait photographer when she graduated from High School. It is hard to believe that the years have gone by and she has already gone through college and found the love of her life.

I have total faith that Gio and Tyler will spend many years together enjoying married life. They are very much in love and their wedding was truly “One Romantic Wedding”!
