FitnessTrack 1.5.5 Released

Just a quick note to say that FitnessTrack 1.5.5 has just been released to the App Store. This release adds retina graphics, a couple of workflow improvements, a lot of internal code fixes and some bugs squashed. You can read the full list of changes here. Cinder Discontinued

In case you missed it, Realmac Software is shutting down the Ember webservice. The API to upload will stop working on July 30, 2011 and the service will completely shutdown on September 30, 2011. With that, Cinder’s purpose has come to an end and has been removed from the App Store.

To all of you who purchased and used Cinder, thank you very much and I’m sorry it’s the end of the road for the app. It was a fun ride, it’s sad to see it go.

If you recently bought Cinder and would like to receive a refund, please contact iTunes App Store support as only they can issue them.

QueueUp 1.0.4 released

Fresh from the grill, QueueUp 1.0.4 was just released to the App Store. This version fixes a crash for those of you using older devices (such as the iPhone 3G). Prior to that were a couple of bug fix releases that fixed authentication issues with Netflix along with some movie poster image downloading issues.

360iDev

About a month ago, I attended 360iDev in Austin. This was a great conference, not only for the content, but also for getting to meet a whole bunch of other iOS developers. I’ve been following a lot of these people on Twitter for a long time, so it was great getting to meet some of them in person for the first time.

The other great thing about these conferences is the things that go on outside of the conference. Without further ado, I present a video of several iOS developers trying to ride a mechanical bull. Enjoy!

Fixing Missing Icon For Archived Applications in Xcode Organizer

Tonight I noticed that my archived builds in Xcode all had a “?” icon instead of their regular icons. It turns out, to get the Organizer to show the icons, you need to have them specified in your application’s Info.plist in the Icon Files section, like so:

Now when you do a build and archive, you’ll get the nice icon showing up in the Organizer. The Icon Files section of the Info.plist is covered by Apple Technical Q&A QA1686.

Announcing QueueUp 1.0

Today, we have released QueueUp to the App Store. QueueUp is a Netflix client for your iPhone or iPod Touch that allows you to quickly search for and add items to your queue. It has a beautiful interface designed by Matt McCray with an awesome app icon designed by Kevin Andersson. Even better: it’s retina display ready!

The idea behind QueueUp is to focus entirely on the experience of adding a movie to your queue. Imagine you’re talking to your friend over lunch and they mention a movie you just have to see. You can pull out QueueUp and add that movie fast and get right back to the conversation.

Or maybe your waiting in line at the grocery store and see one of those DVDs they have at the checkout and instead of buying it, you decide you want to add it to your Netflix queue. Bam! QueueUp to the rescue.

QueueUp requires iOS 3.0 or higher and an active Netflix account. Only $1.99 on the App Store.

Cinder Now Available for iPod Touches

Apple has fixed the issue preventing iPod Touch owners from being able to download or install Cinder on their device! If you have already downloaded Cinder, go back to the store and “buy” it again. iTunes will re-download Cinder and replace the broken version with the new and improved one.

I’m really sorry about the delay, but now everything is right in the Cinder world! Enjoy!

Cinder and iPod Touches Update

Over the weekend I received an acknowledgement from Apple that they are looking into the issue. They asked that I give them 3-5 business days for their investigation. I know this wait is no fun, for you and me.

I do want to offer an idea to make sure you get a chance to download Cinder while it’s available for free. Instead of trying to download from your iPod Touch, do so from iTunes on your computer. iTunes shouldn’t stop you from downloading, although it will stop you from trying to install it on your iPod Touch.

Downloading it now means you get it for free, and then whenever the issue is resolved you’ll be listed as an owner of the application. That way, whatever update is needed, you shouldn’t be charged for the application as you already own it.

I’ll keep posting updates as I have them. Thanks for your patience.
