This comes from a random post on Reddit, but we’ll cover that down below. Why is it so painfully easy to find these things? I don’t know, let’s see.

So first, the post had this picture:

The only comment, at the moment, is the focus of this post. Someone wrote: “Racists freak out when others don’t ascribe to their ignorant hatred. ”

Seriously, have you ever talked to a leftist? That’s exactly what they do too, but people on the left don’t look as critically at people who believe what they do, any more than people on the right do.

I’ve been saying “everyone wants everyone else to be just like they are” forever and that is true across the political/social/religious spectrum.

Yes, I will agree that racists freak out when others don’t ascribe to their ignorant hatred, I will also agree that progressives freak out when others don’t ascribe to their ignorant politics. It doesn’t matter what you really want to be true, it matters what actually is, and seriously, have you tried to have a serious discussion with a hard left-tard over their political fanaticism? It goes nowhere because they get emotional the second they get backed into a corner.

Just like the religious do. They’re all doing the same thing and deserve the same derision. If you don’t have anything intelligent and rationally defensible to say, maybe you ought to keep your mouth shut.

That would sure be nice, wouldn’t it?

It’s so blatantly obvious but they’ve got massive blinders. They’re every bit as faithful as the religious retards that call the show.

Here’s the thing. It’s fine if the call screener wants to ask someone what their preferred pronouns are. If people want to provide them, fine. If not, that’s fine too. However, the assholes on AE, especially Forrest, make fun of people who don’t fit into their expectations. Because if you listen to them, they almost never refer to anyone by any pronouns. They just call them by their name. So the whole idea of asking for pronouns is useless.

It gets worse though. As I said, if the call screener wants to ask, or if the website that people log onto wants to ask, that’s fine. That’s information for the hosts because they’re the only ones actually involved in the discussion, where any pronouns might come up. I have no problem with that, so long as they actually respect people’s wishes, which, as I said, they absolutely do not.

Where it goes into agenda territory is when they insist on reading it out to the listening audience. You know, the people who are not part of the conversation and couldn’t care less what a person’s pronouns are. That information should be between the individual caller and the individual hosts, but no… they’ve got the whole virtue signaling nonsense going on because that’s what they’re really after. They are trying to look holier than thou and nobody with half a brain ought to fall for it.

Granted, people with brains don’t fall on the left-end extreme, do they? Because this is blatantly stupid. But then again, look who we’re talking about.

We’ve been over this time and time again, but we can do it all again. So let’s watch the video first, don’t worry, it’s short, and then I’ll explain why he fucks up as badly as he does. See you below the fold.

Sadly, it seems that Matt hasn’t thought about his own flawed logic. So let me set this up for you if you didn’t want to watch the video. Someone called in and said that Matt’s logic was flawed, which it absolutely is. He gave the example of listening to trans people and then Matt exploded, because he’s an overly-emotional asshole when it comes to things like this, and said something along the lines of “when someone makes claims about gods, it’s an external claim” and then contrasts  that with what trans people claim.

Except they are also making an external claim. They are, to use Matt’s words, saying what they “are”. Not what they think they are. Not what they feel they are. What they are. Except that isn’t the case and cannot be justified with any demonstrable evidence.

So let’s set the whole trans thing aside for a moment and get on to something not nearly as emotionally charged. Furries. If someone says “I’m really a 90-foot long fire-breathing red dragon,” they are just wrong. It might be what they want to be. It might be how they feel, but that is not what they are. There is no evidence whatsoever that shows that there are any 90-foot long fire-breathing red dragons. Thus, no matter how you feel, you are not one of those.

Now are there people with gender dysphoria? Absolutely. That is a demonstrable medical condition. You don’t have it  because  you “feel like it”. It’s either a condition that you have or it is not and your feelings have nothing to do with it, any more than a person who “feels” that they’ve had an experience with a god actually has, just because they like the idea. A god is either real or not real and your feelings have nothing to do with it. A person is either trans or not trans and their feelings have nothing to do with it. One standard. Figure it out.

So a person who, out of the blue, decides that they’re a dragon or that they’ve experienced God or that they’re trans, they all should be treated the same way. How do you know that? Where is your evidence? Your feelings mean nothing at all.

Matt can’t handle that because of his particular proclivities and political opinions. He can’t have one and only one standard, any more than the religious can. He is doing the exact same thing that they are and for the same reasons. In this instance, he cares more about his emotional comfort than he does about demonstrable reality.

People really need to call him out on it more often but he’s an emotional wreck and attacks anyone who dares to disagree, just like the immature child that he is in this case. It doesn’t matter what you like. It matters only what is actually true and what evidence you can present in support.

Seriously, there is something very wrong with him, and lots of people on his side of the political aisle. It borders on delusional. I really think he needs help.

That was the good part. The rest, not so much.

I put in estimate requests for the top 3 of the 7. One called almost immediately and agreed to come out on Memorial Day to give me an estimate. That was a bit surprising.

Another called me and said they no longer do that work. Fair enough. I put in a request for company #4 on the list.

Another company called and set up an appointment to come out on Tuesday at 5pm. The third (was the 4th, but you get the idea), asked for my phone number so they could call.

The company with the appointment never showed up. Never called. Nothing. The one that got my phone number, they never called either. I’m going with the only company that cared enough to even respond, although I’m happy with that option.

This is hardly the first time this has happened. 8 years ago when we had the roof replaced, we called a bunch of roofers for estimates and only one even bothered to show up. The others that I called, they all sounded bored. Luckily, it was the roofer that we had a personal recommendation for, but how can these companies stay in business if they’re just ignoring actual work?

I’ve asked around and this is pretty much the case everywhere. Keep in mind, these are the top-rated companies on Yelp. These aren’t some fly-by-night companies that are run irresponsibly, except they are. Obviously they are. So the  two that never showed and never called, they got bad reviews on Yelp. Hopefully that will affect their ranking. Unfortunately, I don’t know that there are a lot of people that are better, because the one who made an appointment and didn’t show was the #1 rated, with the one we went with by default, it was #2.

If you want to know who to blame for businesses falling apart, it’s the companies who can’t keep their word and don’t even try. Somehow, I’m really not surprised by that, are you?

What the hell is wrong with these morons?

This is an ongoing problem these days, where people can’t be adults. In the first example, someone posted a couple of pictures of stamps and asked what they were worth. Everyone told him they were worth nothing. Instead of saying thank you or asking additional questions, he got mad at people because he really wanted to think he was rich.

These people are imbeciles.

The second was on a video game forum, where he asked if people have ever done something in the game. Tons of people have. It gets posted about constantly. I get that this guy is new and all, but clearly he did no searching because he would have found multiple posts every day that people were doing what he asked about, but instead, he got mad because he thought everyone ought to ride him around on their shoulders for suggesting something unique.

I honestly don’t know what to do with these people anymore because this is getting more and more common. People are refusing to act like responsible adults. They are demanding that everyone treat them like they’re special, even though they’re not.

We’re doomed if this keeps up.

My doctor ordered some refills and they were processing them, but they had to call me to ask “the prescription that they sent over will cost you $200 co-pay, but we have another one here, that’s absolutely identical in every way, that’s free. Which one do you want us to send?”

Are you fucking kidding me?

Nobody in their right mind is going to say “send me the $200 stuff!” What part of your brain broke down that you picked up the phone to ask me that question?

This is the state of the modern medical industry and I am positively sick of it. I get calls like this all the time, not just from the pharmacy trying to decipher what the hell the doctor is doing, but from the doctor asking me absolutely insane questions as well. Where did the ability to think go?

Personally, I just want them both to leave me alone, but I get stuck in the middle because the pharmacy has dumb questions for the doctor and the doctor absolutely refuses to talk to the pharmacy. I get to scream at one side or the other by proxy and I’m sick of it. This is what I’m paying them for! Figure it out! It can’t be that hard!

The brains of modern-day America seem to have atrophied and I’m tired of having to deal with it. Can someone please stop the planet?  I want to get off!

So I just got mad at someone on Reddit, and it wasn’t that I was mad at them personally or anything, but that the whole of Reddit, and let’s be honest, social media everywhere, has taken complete and utter leave of its senses.

And I’m not going to stand for it anymore. I’m done.

Since when has absolutely everyone stopped being able to handle reality? Honestly, when was the turning point? Because people are terrified to use perfectly legitimate words because it might hurt someone’s feelings.

So the guy that I got “mad” at, which I didn’t even get mad at, I just used his post as a springboard, was someone who said something about people being “unalived”.

Fuck you. Or fuck that  convention. Pick one. It’s not unalived. That’s not a word. It’s dead. They’re fucking dead. Deal with it. There are people out there, ostensible adults, who can’t even handle the concept of death. They break down in tears?

Can we just march those people off into a volcano or something? These are people too fucking dumb to be allowed to run free with the normal folks. There is no “unalive”. If you use that word, you are a moron. Fuck you.

The fact that these lunatics have turned the planet into a dystopian hellscape is disgusting. Why do we put up with this crap? So I’m not going to anymore. I’m done. I was about ready to leave Reddit anyhow,  because the overwhelming majority of people there are too dumb to be dealt with. Hopefully they ban me permanently and I’m not going back if they do. In fact, I’m pretty much ready to walk away from social media entirely. It’s just not worth it. There are too many good books in my pile to read already, I’m fine giving up the daily grind of dealing with the terminally dumb.

So what do you think? I just want someone to stop the planet so I can get off. Most people are just too dumb to be dealt with and luckily, I don’t have to. I’ve got my small circle of friends with brains and I’m fine with that. It’s no wonder that smart people tend to walk away from the world. I’m really starting to understand that now. Maybe that’s why the world is as fucked up as it is. That’s beginning to make a lot of sense.

I just saw a Dan McClellan video which I think illustrates this and he even addresses it to some degree. I’m going to somewhat disagree though. The video and the discussion are below the fold.

First, the video. Watch or not, I’m not your papa.

I’m not mad at Dan, he’s right in a lot of what he says, but where he goes wrong is where a lot of people go wrong. He assumes that our modern moral views are automatically right because that’s what he’s got going through his head.

That is not the case.

Moral views are entirely subjective. The people who lived at the time of the Old Testament, which is mostly what he talks about in the video, they thought their moral views were perfect and just. Every  generation thinks that. Every generation is eventually proven wrong because moral views change as time goes on. Today, we think slavery is evil. In another 50 or 100 years, that might not be the case. We are just doing what we are doing in the moment because it “feels right” to the majority of people. Feelings change. People need to learn to deal with it. If, tomorrow, someone came up with actual artificial intelligence, not the programming that we have today, and we kept those real AIs as workhorses for humans, that would be slavery. If we could justify it to ourselves, slavery, of a sort, would return. Words are what we choose to define them as.

I’ve seen people make the case that keeping animals to do work for humans is a form of slavery. Most people would disagree because they think it’s too useful to give up. Therefore, slavery only counts if it’s done to humans, not to any other creature. The whole thing is ultimately just word games and humans are very good at word games. We will justify whatever benefits us, however we can and it’s always been that way and always will be.

Unfortunately, most people refuse to recognize what is actually going on. There is nothing that is “inherently moral”, only things that we, in the moment, think collectively are. That may not apply tomorrow, but people can’t look back at history and recognize that we are not at the end point of the world. There is a future for our species that will not include what we think today. We need to stop pretending that just because we think so today, that doesn’t mean it’s going to be true forever.

Sadly, most people can’t even entertain that thought. That’s why discussions on morality tend to go sideways, because people can’t imagine ever being morally “wrong”. “It’s what I believe now so it’s going to be true forever!” Sorry, that’s not how this works. The people in the Old Testament thought the same thing and they were wrong. We are no different. There is no end-point to morality because morality is just opinion. People cling to it  because they’ve been indoctrinated with it, just like the religious have. That doesn’t make any of it true. It just makes it a convenient point for modern people to feel superior about themselves.

That means absolutely nothing. The whole discussion is inherently irrelevant and people can’t get that through their heads.

Kind of sad, isn’t it?

I think I’m only able to finish about 40-50% of the calls before I click out. My bullshit alarm is going off all over the place and trying to wade through the religious desperately trying to rationalize their way back to their blind faith after getting demolished by the hosts, I just can’t take it anymore!

This has been worse since I’ve been watching videos on Deconstruction Zone and Planet Peterson  because they tend to get the dumbest theists around. However, I’m clicking away from The Lone and Atheist Experience, et al, a whole lot faster than I ever have before. There were some that were such concentrated stupid that I couldn’t stand it, but that’s increasing dramatically these days.

Does anyone else feel that way? Let me know down in the comments if you do because I’m really getting sick of it.

Granted, most of the theists that call these shows are the extremes. You get a reasonable theist once in a blue moon, but the vast majority are fanatics who are not open to having intelligent, rational discussions of their beliefs. They just want it to be true and damn it, there’s no way they’re going to change their minds no matter what happens. Those people, I don’t want to listen to because it’s a complete waste of time. If I was a host on those shows, I’d hang up because it’s not going to be a productive conversation. I can see those coming a mile away.

Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer worthwhile theists out there, and it’s not just on YouTube. Look at any atheist debate forum  and the theists have all been down voted into oblivion because they’re just spouting nonsense. There’s no reason to even engage these people because they are not honest interlocutors. Half the time, they can’t even string a coherent sentence together. They are fanatics, nothing more.

I’m even seeing this in the videos that I’m going after. I’ve been looking for a single rational theist for years now and not only have I not found one, but even the ones that pass the reasonable sniff test seem to have vanished.

Perhaps it’s because, as I’ve been saying for a long time, most of the moderate and liberal theists have gone away. They’ve realized there’s no reason to  believe what they believe and either they’ve deconverted or they’ve just gone into hiding so they don’t make fools of themselves. It’s only the complete lunatics that are still out there, trying to preach to a world that only laughs at them.

If so, that’s a little bit sad, just from a channel perspective, because I don’t really have a lot of fun going after the extreme wingnuts. I want something that I can actually engage with on an intellectual basis and those are very few and far between. I’ve recently given up on Cameron Bertuzzi, probably forever, although those videos aren’t out yet. You get a little spoiler  because you bother to read the blog. I’m going to ask my Patrons this weekend if I should just declare a permanent moratorium on Cliffe Knectle because his stupidity is off the charts. Yet is he any worse than anyone else? About the only theist I have any respect for, and it’s very little, is Randal Rauser and that’s because he’s clearly deconstructing his own  beliefs and I expect him to be an atheist in short order. It takes time, but once you start asking those questions, the end is certainly nigh.

Where can you go to have those reasonable interactions with people who aren’t deluded out of their minds? If you have any ideas, let me know because I certainly haven’t found them yet.
