Cookie monster would probably love this post.... As for me, I am all "cookied" out for this year!!! I thought I'd just make three types of cookies this year to continue my Christmas tradition, but three snowballed into six and now everyone is tired of eating it at home. So the cookies made were
-Cardamom pistachio biscotti
-Orange pinwheels
-Mint Chocolate bullseye
-Rose checkerboard
-Snickerdoodles
-Sugar cookie ornaments
-Mocha snow caps

Until next year, here's wishing you all a very merry christmas and a wonderful new year!

Eggless Black Forest Triple decker Cake..

2010-08-01T17:42:00.000-07:00

The base was a super moist eggless chocolate cake with a cherry filling and amaretto cream, A black forest cake that was decimated !

2010-07-31T19:18:00.000-07:00

Cars Lightning McQueen cake , again the choice was a orange chiffon cake that was so moist and soft that it caused the cake to sink.. We had a little bit of a problem delivering the cake as the box destroyed some of the border. But all in all it the taste was the winner.

Princess cake

2010-07-20T14:17:00.000-07:00

My most "fear/no fear" cake. Why I say this is because initially I thought it'd be a breeze and I'd be able to sail through this cake. Well, for the most part I did, but there were times when I was not so sure and spent a very sleepless night looking at the watch to make sure that I'd have enough time to complete it. But all's well that end's well and seeing the smile on the b'day girl's face made it all worth the while and some...
Every little girl's favorite, sometime or the other.....

Phone cake

2010-06-08T17:22:00.000-07:00

Cake was made to look like the bday kid's favorite toy of the moment which happened to be a bright blue cell phone!

This was a moist genoise cake with a pineapple filling and butter creme frosting

Dora cake

2010-06-08T17:01:00.000-07:00

Dora, one of the characters loved by all 2-3 yr olds.... :) I'm sure almost everyone who has kids has lived through the "Tutudu Dora, Dora, Dora, Dora... " song echoing in their house sometime or the other!

This cake was a butter cake with butter cream filling and frosting and the image was made using a technique called a Frozen butter cream transfer. Sure did give make my heart stop a couple of times while transferring it onto the cake and trying not to break the image.....

The beginning......

2010-06-08T13:27:00.000-07:00

These were the first few cakes that I started with. They were the ones that gave me a passion to continue making more. These were all simple cakes with the main idea being to practice making flowers, try differnt decoration techniques and basically taking the simple cake to the next level at least by sight!

This cake was my first experiment at fondant.

And this was my first tiered cake...................

A closer look at the roses.....
