The problem is I have bad handwriting – so now I type the lists out on my computer, print them off on expensive cardstock, and then paste them carefully into my Blackbookberry, so I can check them off.

I think making lists is an essential part of an efficiency experts job. Start by making lists of people, office furniture, budgets, meetings, and maybe have a meeting or two where you come up with lists of lists that you need.

The first you place you have to go is people. Pick the ones that nobody will miss until after you are gone. It can’t be the guys that changes the toilet paper or the one that delivers the daily paper. That crew is just to visible. Now the furnace maintenance guy can go missing for months and nobody will know. So what if little carbon monoxide leaks into air or some oily rags pile up by the firebox. You will be long gone before something bad happens. Take out two or three of these positions or services and you have immediate savings to show your client.

What about installing little desks, sort of like those airline trays that fold over your lap? My projections show this would add 32.5 minutes a day of work productivity, per person.
