Kanye West's Clothing Collection

A lot of rumors have been going around in the music and fashion industries. Everybody is talking about Kanye West's new clothing line that may, or may not be coming out. Kanye West has a great love for fashion - so much so that he would embarrass himself by trying to get into a show that he was not invited to attend - we have to appreciate his hustle thought. But now, after working on scarf collections, the designer is said to be doing a full-on collection, and we are excited about it. Who's the say? A few fashion insiders have been making some great insinuations check out this story from The Telegraph UK:

The dedicated follower of fashion - who was a firm fixture in the front row at the autumn/winter 2011 catwalk shows - is said to be working on a high-end collection comprising looks for both men and women, from a studio in the centre of the French capital. Our source also confirmed that West never made a bid to study fashion design at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art in London, as was reported by The Sun earlier this year, but has struck up an firm friendship with Professor Louise Wilson, head of the MA fashion design degree at CSM.

Rachel Johnson's Clients have ended up in Vogue Magazine - one on the cover with Supermodel Giselle Buchen, and the other inside of the iconic magazine's pages. Both Amar'e Stoudemire and Lebron James have their stylist to thank for that - if not for her signature looks and fashion-forward attitude, neither of them would be the style czars that they have become.

Here's some info from the NY Times story on Johnson:

At six feet, Ms. Johnson is a tall girl. But she was dwarfed when her client, Knicks power forward Amar’e Stoudemire (6-foot-10), clambered out of the vehicle in red leather Louis Vuitton high-tops, a gray RLX jersey and dark Christian Dior straight-leg jeans. The outfit, which could be described as preppy bling, is a signature look of Ms. Johnson, 36, who has emerged as the go-to image maker for celebrity athletes like Mr. Stoudemire and LeBron James of the Miami Heat.

The Chanel Resort Collection was Brilliant - But Where were all the Black Models?

The Chanel Resort collection was brilliant. We love Lagerfeld and can appreciate his genius for what it is - amazing! Still, Amy Odell at NY Mag posted a story that brought to our attention that the collection did not have any black models. In thee 80s this might not have been surprising, but Black seems to be in as of late which is why BMJ finds is strange that there was absolutely no brown presence. UMM - what do you think? Nonetheless, the collection was beautiful and we have photos of our favorite looks below: S/O to Style.com for the photos...

If you haven't looked at the entire 74-look Chanel cruise collection, you can do so in our runway slideshow . Many critics were stuck on the bizarre boot-flip-flop hybrid. "Perhaps that could be rationalized as the shoe for someone who has everything else her heart could possibly desire, in keeping with what the designer saw as the spirit of the locale. But there are some desires that are clearly better left unsatisfied," quipped Style.com critic Tim Blanks . But also of note in the collection was the cast, which included all the top girls you'd expect, and even the more unexpected Kristen McMenamy. She walked in a lineup that included no black models, no plus-size models (Crystal Renn famously walked the Chanel resort show last year), and two Asian models (Fei Fei Sun and Shu Pei Qin). In fact, no black models walked in the label's resort show last year, the fall 2011 show, the spring 2011 couture show, or the pre-fall 2011 show.

It used to be that ads featuring blacks weren't shown in a lot of the glossies that we all read and live by, but as audiences grow, so do demographics and Black Mary Jane has been noticing a lot of her fellow brown babies in a lot of those same magazines. Black woman especially make up a chunk of the buying public and their products and specialty items are about as niche as they can be. Nothing much has changed in the set up and design of these ads. My Top 6 Shoe List: By Ebony Black

So a couple days ago I was shopping in Macy's and saw some of the cutest shoes for the Spring/Summer Season. I decided to take pictures and share with you all. Let me know your opinion.

Shoe #1

The shoe is by Vince Cammuto. It only comes on two colors which is black and taupe where you will see below. Apparently Taupe seems to be the new black for this season. The price is a bit up there, $118 but Macy's has a great shoe sale going on where you get 1 pair for 15%, 2 pairs for 20%, and 3 or more pairs for 30% each.

Shoe #2

This shoe is by Jessica Simpson. It's a very Gaudy shoe and you all know how I love gaudy. The shape is extremely awkward but I love it. The price is $89!

Shoe #3

This shoe is by Steve Madden. It's a Wedge! Enough Said...Wedges are always in for the Spring/Summer Season...That's why I chose it. The Price....$69

Shoe #4

This is another Wedge by MIA! It comes in two colors, black which you will see below and taupe. Again it seems as though taupe is the new black...In the picture the wedge doesn't seem huge but in person its HUGE!!!! Price...$79

Shoe #5

This shoe is by Carlos Santana. Now the only reason why I chose this shoe is because of the different colors. I noticed while at Macy's many people were trying and buying this one particular shoe. I normally don't like Carlos Santana pumps because they always look disproportional, but the color scheme is what caught MY eye. Price...$79

Shoe #6

Another Jessica Simpson Shoe. It's a Mary Jane. This shoe comes in many different colors. One being grey, black and snake skin. The other being pink black and suede. Other colors are red black and taupe. This shoe is extremely trendy and it's a Mary Jane...Price $98
