Vests. One of my favorite things to style, especially for winter. They're a great way to layer and to stay warm! I had my brother quickly take these pictures for me so I could show you guys how I styled this fur vest. You really can't go wrong wearing a blouse underneath. This one from Zara is beautiful, and is a cheaper alternative to the Equipment blouses. Granted it's not of the best quality but it's trendy and cute. Python is definitely a must-have print right now. I love the way the brown colorway of the blouse compliments the fur on the vest.

This SANCTUARY vest is a sneak-peek to an upcoming fashion post! My mom got it for me as an early Christmas present. I adore it!

Yesterday, I went to see Oh Land in concert at Brighton Music Hall. I was so happy that my friend, Anna, introduced me to this band. We had a lot of fun dancing to electronic pop. The lead singer is a Danish singer-songwriter that used to be a professional ballerina until she was injured. Words can't even describe how beautiful she is in person. She also has an amazing fashion sense. I wish I could pull off the outfits she wears.

She was wearing this gorgeous white fringe dress with purple tights and short pink Doc Martens. Perfection.

My outfit was nothing in comparison to her's. It was a typical, rainy Boston night so I was not in the mood to look cute, haha. I wore jeans, an awesome tank top, and Converse-style sneakers.

I'll take some time now to highlight a clothing brand that I've really grown to love: UNIF Clothing. I suggest everyone check their stuff out! You can order it online on their website but Urban Outfitters sells some pieces as well. Look out for sales there.

I bought this one at Urban. They're pretty oversized so I got mine in an XS but the S fits me too. I wore this so many times already.

This is totally on my wishlist. I can't get enough of it. IT WILL BE MINE SOON.

This is the one I wore to the concert! It has a bunch of holes in it too. Got it for $15 at Urban!

Even though the UNIF tanks are pretty expensive for just simple tanks, I think they're unique and witty. Also, they use great quality fabric that's ultra soft.

P.S. The opening band, Savoir Adore, is great!

Going for a tailored, classic look? Time for a blazer. They instantly make any outfit look more structured and "put together." Lately, I've been really into stripes so when I saw this basic tee at J. Crew, I knew I had to buy it. It has a three-quarter sleeve so it's even great on its own. Long pendants are always a necessity for me.

Alexis Bittar makes beautiful jewelry that's of high quality. His pieces are fun while still remaining classic. Some of the jewelry is pricey and honestly, not worth the money. Stalk Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's, and look out for discounts and deals!

Quick & easy outfit that I thought was worth sharing. I got this sweater on sale a while ago and lately, I've been wearing it non-stop. It's cropped in a way that's flattering for my height. This sweater has holes where my elbows are too! It's a cute detail. LOVE LOVE LOVE these boots as well. My mom finally let me borrow them!

REVIEW: Drugstore Favorites

Drug store products tend to be underrated, especially with all the hype surrounding higher end beauty items. Yes, we love our Chanel, NARS, and Bobbi Brown but sometimes drug store brands do the trick. Here are our tried & true loves:

MAYBELLINE the Falsies volum' express

For me, this mascara works just as well as any high-end one. The curved brush makes it easy to use, and it reaches every lash. It really does give great volume and lengthens as well.

MAYBELLINE great lash clear mascara

I actually use this mascara on my eyebrows! I think I inherited unruly eyebrows from my dad. Nice. This product works well for keeping eyebrow hairs under control.

ST. IVES apricot scrub

I use this about three times a week to give my skin a deep clean. To make my life just a little bit easier, I apply this scrub in the shower. St. Ives is an amazing brand, in general. I always look out for when their products are on sale in CVS!

JUST THE BASICS facial towelettes

Just discovered these babies! At only $3.19, they're super affordable. I usually stay away from drug store makeover removers because they never work as well as the high end brands. Also, my eyes are sensitive so most drug store products burn them. They're great for removing all kinds of makeup (including foundation and concealer), and they don't sting my eyes!

E.L.F. Eye Shadow Brush

I had to give e.l.f. brushes a try and I must say they do not disappoint. And at $1, who can resist?! Quality wise, you get what you pay for. It isn't the softest brush but it works as a great crease brush.

JK by JEMMA KIDD eyeshadow

Jemma Kidd's cosmetic line in Target is AWESOME. Not only are the shadows finely milled, but the color is rich and smooth. Apply this with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer and you'll be set!

No.7 Soft and Sheer Tinted Moisturiser

Hypo-allergenic, light weight, tinted, and equipped with SPF 15. This is probably my favorite Boots product. I use it as a base before applying my foundation and it works perfectly as a primer.

No.7 4-in-1 Makeup Remover Wipes

Another Boots product that I swear by. Self-explanatory make-up remover that gets the job done in one wipe and even removes waterproof mascara!

"Day and Night" seemed like such a great and helpful concept for this blog. Buying pieces that you can wear casually AND formally are worth the investment. This Milly skirt proves that leopard print can be versatile.

I really love the Jessica Kagan Cushman bangles because they're all handmade. Each piece is slightly different, and this personal touch is what makes it so appealing to me. The black one says, "Never Never Never Never Give Up" and the off-white one says, "Fashion can be bought. Style one must possess." Two awesome quotes that I live by!

Side note. Caprice & I are currently watching Gossip Girl, a show that is our not so guilty pleasure. Personally, I want to raid Blair's closet. I still think Blair belongs with Chuck. Sooner or later, she won't be able to hold back her feelings for him.. I hope. Also, how annoying is Charlie? and Dan and Nate's characters seem pointless to me now. What are your thoughts?

New York, New York

Just got back to Boston, and I miss New York already. Spending some time at home was much needed. New Yorkers have the best fashion sense. Okay, I'm a little biased but this black & white look is exactly what I love most about New York style. It's simple, modern, and yet so trendy. The leopard scarf adds a fun twist. Personally, I like a minimal look when it comes to jewelry so I paired this outfit with just one statement piece: the Ben Amun earrings. I'd die to own those. Holiday wish list, much?

Thought this picture was too hilarious not to post, haha! Me, post-Thanksgiving feast. Passed out in a food coma with my baby, Silas. I miss that little boy so much. I had to take an Amtrak train back to Boston, and they don't allow pets! At least I know he'll be well taken care of at home in New York.

I attended the MiM0SA concert at Royale Boston last week and.... I don't even know what to say. It was such a great time that I'm having trouble explaining it. You gotta experience the concert yourself to truly understand it. It was my first time at this venue, and I think it might be my new favorite one in Boston. The space is perfect for a dubstep show. Sick beats, hard bass, and sweating. That pretty much sums up my night. Unfortunately, cameras were not allowed so I couldn't take any photos! My iPhone (3GS) doesn't have flash so any attempts using it were complete failures.

Now, about my outfit. I always try to wear something sleeveless because I tend to overheat very quickly at shows. I wore plain, black tights under the skirt and rocked my black combat boots. I don't understand how girls are able to wear heels at these types of concerts. Maybe it's just me, but I am terrible at dancing in heels.

Also featured in the outfit picture are the DEBORAH LIPPMANN nail polish in "Lady Sings The Blues" and MARC JACOBS "Daisy" perfume. If you like glitter as much as I do, then try out this nail polish. It looks especially great painted over CHANEL's "Blue Satin." This perfume has always been my #1. For some reason, I get really bad headaches when I wear strong perfumes, so this one is light enough and it doesn't bother me.

Completely impromptu photoshoot. Caprice came over to my apartment the other night, and we decided to have a little fun on the roof. Totally in love with the Boston skyline. It makes me miss my hometown, New York. I'm starting to gear up for the colder weather. I just accepted the fact that flip flops are no longer acceptable so I'm still getting used to the idea of hats, scarves, and gloves.

Winter is coming...

EATS: Simple Side Dishes

Here are some simple side dishes that we made last night.
Yes, we can cook as well! ;)

Caramelized Onions:

Heat the pan with Canola oil and a splash of soy sauce and sesame oil.

Saute diced onions in the heated pan till brown.

After turning off the heat, mix in a dash of brown sugar until caramelized.

Season with salt and pepper (to desired amount).

Serve either warm or chilled.

Tomato and Olive Salad:

Slice up olives of your choice. (We bought our's pre-seasoned from Whole Foods).

Dress the baby tomatoes with a little of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Season with salt and pepper.

Mix in the olives.

Toss and serve.

Spicy Bok Choy:

Cut the leaves off the bok choy. (You can leave them on, if you prefer!)

Pull apart the stems into separate pieces.

Heat the pan with sesame oil.

Saute bok choy until tender.

Add in chili paste. (We used the Huy Fong Foods brand).

Stir, and serve.

These dishes are very easy to make. Healthy and delicious. Enjoy!

Hey guys long time no see!
This coming Friday's about to be a life changer. First off, I'll be seeing Death Angel, Testament, and Anthrax all in one night (ahhh eargasm). In addition, I recently found out that I won my very first sweepstakes -- to meet the band Death Angel and receive a Jackson S32 Rhoads Guitar signed by the entire band. It's usually one of my roommates that wins ALL of the sweepstakes ever (his father even won a huge LCD TV one time), but I guess a little bit of his luck had rubbed off on me this time! Soooooo pumped for this show (if you couldn't tell already).

This is basically my "planned" outfit for the show -- god knows what I'm actually going to wear lol, probably a pair of my boyfriend's jeans and a SUPER oversized band T.

These are probably some of my favorite pieces in my closet right now -- definitely the leather jacket, the jeans, and the boots. Maybe I should just show up in a fairy dress, for effect... and die. Any thoughts? I'll post pictures (shitty iphone pics) from the concert for sure. AND, there's Mimosa's concert tonight.

Probably going to die by Saturday.

The first time I went to Scoop NYC was in Las Vegas a couple of summers ago. My mom introduced me to the store and I immediately fell in love. When I found out that it was opening up on Newbury Street, I knew I had to visit.
Of course, I couldn't leave the store without buying something. I blame the presentation of the clothes -
everything looks so appealing. I wanted it all....

This Rag & Bone dress is perfect for any occassion. It's classy and appropriate but still sexy because it's form-fitting.
I am in LOVE with the leather detailing and the exposed zipper in the back.

Can't wait to further style this piece!

Just having a fun time walking to Newbury Street! I just happen to live in a semi-sketchy alleyway - thought it would make a nice background for some photos. It was so windy and by the end of the day, I was freezing my bum off in my tights. Totally worth it though. This cheetah print jacket from Ann Taylor is currently my favorite thing to wear. Even though it's bold, it looks great with so many different outfits.
